ASOMAF (Reboot/Worldbuilding/Discussion)

This is a worldbuilding thread for the reboot of "A Song of Money and Fire" (ASOMAF). As I explain, this reboot will be influenced by those Cobalt RPs that involve numbered nations created by the OPs. The reboot will also have a different name as the original one is too associated with the Great Depression. This thread is to create those numbered nations, figure out a POD, create a premise and fulfill the wishes of players who are interested in this. The setting is the same (1960s) and the maps of the previous RP will be used to decide the numbered nations involved here.

Once the worldbuilding and the nation roster is complete, an OOC thread for the reboot, as well as the reboot's name, will be launched, mostly around early April this year.

Netherlands - yeah, good luck with that.

Bloc - I think the usual kinds that existed in our WW2. The Axis was initially as a Anti-Soviet Bloc anyway. While also having the Entente perhaps? The old allies from WW1 - both to act as a bulwark against Communism but also Axis too - to maintain, the British love of Balance of Power. While also having the Japanese Co-Prosperity Sphere.

POD - well, one part would be the factor of FDR being killed. Although perhaps also Germany' war-industry helping to supply the Nordics thus cutting off any chance for US domestic industry to help pull it out of the mud.

Renamed, yes. But we might have more blocs than just these. Also, the Warsaw Pact could probably either be the Comintern or a different WarPac called the "Moscow Pact" (MosPac), which consists of the USSR and communist states outside Europe such as North China, Mongolia, Uyghuristan (Xinjiang/East Turkestan), Naxal, Burma, Cuba and Venezuela. NATO might not exist since there would be no WW2, as the Interwar era is still ongoing as of 1964. I would also make a bloc based on the Tripartite Pact called the "Axis of Vengeance", which consists of Germany, Turkey, Mexico and Wa, as well as another bloc called the "Intermarium", which consists of Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Greece and Albania.

A global alliance could be impossible, plus the US is split (probably prior to the Great War), so we could have a smaller NATO composed of France, Italy, Benelux (possibly), Canada, Liberia, Nigeria, Ethiopia, the UK, some South American countries and at least two US successor states, although the UK would also have the Commonwealth of Nations (alongside Canada and Nigeria).

I got some names for Scandinavia based on ideology and type of government:

Philippines will be available, but about the other two:

USSR still exists here like IRL, so Russia can't be democratic.
Iraq, Syria and Kuwait are likely to be dominated by Ba'athists. Jordan is a Hashemite monarchy, btw.

We could need one US successor state that is legitimately similar to the US and likely to have "American" as it's demonym, plus we need to figure out when the US split up prior to the 20th century, if the split happened in the 18th century or the 19th century.

Yeah, that's actually better. I envision something like three major power alliances, one for each dominant ideology and led by the strongest country of that particular ideology (example: Communist and USSR), while several of the other smaller/neutral nations could form defensive blocs/pacts or their own. Some of these blocs might also work with each other in a particular alliance (example, Intermarium and a European Power Bloc forming NATO).

As for the numbered countries, I think it would be particularly best if you were to decide the territory of each country, but let the players decide their names or form of government.

As for my suggestion for the countries: we could do the following:

Benelux would probably be united under that name
Dunno what to name Scandinavia, but I think it's better if you remove the Canadian territory it has
A combined state for Australia and New Zealand

About California, it might not join the JCPS, because there was the Pacific War, which led California to use nuclear warfare once and then gain a sphere of influence in the Pacific. Japan and California would still despise each others, even after the war. I will still figure out other countries here, I am currently stuck with the Netherlands (if it would either be independent or become Benelux alongside Belgium and Luxembourg) and Scandinavia.

That's sound good, but Australia and NZ would be separate realms within the Commonwealth. Okay, I will look forward this later.
