Say I want America to have its indigenous population to skyrocket. Is it bad that I'd encourage them to adopt a racial policy where they can maintain their autochthony, especially in these times where whites vote Republican just to fuck with them (see: Standing Rock, Dakota oil pipes, etc) and blacks are promoting their toxic cultural vulturism where they claim to be the "real" natives? Because clearly the awareness programs aren't working for them. In fact, both squatter demographics (WASP and Black) only seem to get along whenever the Redskins play, and would protest the decision of the Cleveland Indians retiring Chief Wahoo.

In a nation such as the US, the actual Americans are nothing more than a niche group, a minority amongst minorities, and highly vulnerable to the effects of multiculturalism obstentibly obscuring them. Ditto for the Aboriginals in Australia (cheers, Anglos!), the Berbers in Canary Islands (Gracías, Spain), the Irish (cheers, Anglos), and the Itelmen in Russia who were genocided by the Cossacks.

But nah, race is merely "skin tone".

Who cares about skin tone? Why does it matter who someone finds attractive, marries abs has children with?

Define actual American

Skin tone can be a factor that someone finds attractive or unattractive. For instance, lighter skin has historically been seen as attractive as it was associated with wealth. Personally, I’ve found myself more often than not attracted to individuals with skin tones that we’d consider dark. It ultimately doesn’t matter in the long run but if someone has that kind of preference, it’s fine.

Descended from Native American tribes, most likely. A silly definition and racist to boot.

So a person being considered attractive would not be a purely instinctual thing. It's influenced by the social and cultural context the beholder, as it were, grew up in.

What if a person grows up in a society that isn't perfectly post-racial? What if they grow up learning negative beliefs about, as a purely random example, black people? Those stereotypes are racist. It is racist that they are promoted and perpetuated. So if a person is exposed to those stereotypes and internalises them to some degree and is then not attracted to black people, can we not say that that state of affairs is racist? The person in question might not be racist. but does that mean that their romantic and sexual preferences were not influenced by the racist society that they grew up in?

I find myself more attracted to non white guys. Does that mean im racist towards white men? Certainly not

It is a silly and racist definition considering how horribly Native Americans were treated.

All of my girlfriends have been white med students who were also tennis players. Two were blonde, one was brunette. It seems this preference is pretty ingrained.

Certainly that is possible. A person might not be racist but their attraction could be influenced by societal racism.

In that sense, it’s certainly possible for someone’s preferences to be influenced by racism. If it’s built upon stereotypes. But if it’s just a matter of aesthetics, like you just like certain hair types and styles more than others, it’s not necessarily racist. Attraction is nuanced, just as sexuality in general is.

If the problem is people voting Republican, you should be avoiding Republicans. That's not a reason to avoid all white people.

When I use a smiley I am not being serious. Your point was in fact good.
But I had to be a snarky jackass too.

I do agree with your point that societal racism could affect attraction without the person knowing.

Fair enough. It is hard to tell on the internet sometimes, but you can assured I am in fact a snarky jackass at least a significant portion of the time. 8)

Okay actually despite the smiley I am serious about that.

I am a minority.

Part Native American, and Part Mexican(More Mexican though, imo), with some Jewish heritage and German heritage(allegedly).

To me, yes it is skin tone.

People got fucked over by the color of their skin, that's why they're pissed, they were considered inferior due to their skin tone. That's what caused a lot of people to care. Not all people, but a lot.

So please refrain from making blanket statements that are uneducated and frankly, racist and offensive.

"Yes, it is skin tone"

Skin tone is a superficial factor, and the weakest argument to attempt debunking racial definitions. What about the epicanthic folds prevalent in Oriental Asians, Pacific Islanders and Amerindians largely absent in western Caucasians? Genetics? Bodies accustomed to environmental factors?

"Part Native American, and Part Mexican(More Mexican though, imo), with some Jewish heritage and German heritage(allegedly)."

Mexican by ethnicity or by descending from a Mexican citizen/national? Because the latter isn't always correlated to the former. The former, however, is still Native American.

Sad how my point is proven right regarding the indigenous/native/autocthonous/aboriginal/whatever synonymous term there is for the first people to inhabit America.

Erythrean Thebes wrote:...I guess you can advocate for this. But the truth is that Whites in America are just a class of people who have given themselves historically a legal advantage in controlling public life. By attacking Black people and, for a long time, prohibiting Black people from holding public office, the Whites excluded them and ran society without their input. It was only built by White people even though Blacks, Hispanics, and American Indians lived in the same land and resided there by means equally as legitimate as the means of White settlement in America.
Whites didn't limit themselves to oppress blacks, you know. They persecuted the Chinese who mined for them during the gold rush, and didn't consider ethnic Europeans outside of the Germanic spectrum such as the Irish as equals. It's really sad whenever some whites claim they "built" this country when the reality is that they merele used and abused one race to help them kill the original inhabitants, and another to excavate riches for them.
