Unite or Fall: Kirimaar at War (OOC/Worldbuilding)

Postby Ceystile » Fri Mar 08, 2019 9:35 pm

The continent of Kirimaar has had a long, turbulent and near-constant history of war and conquest. Rival kingdoms and empires constantly pit their might against one another and warred over dominance, resources and sometimes even failed marriages. It was either conquer or be conquered in those days, so everybody was trying to hold on to their independence and the independence of their lands as well as being forever branded in the annals of history as a great powerful domain, that people would worship their might. Of course, all war and conquest is just as bloody and taxing as it is glorious and the people grew tired of fighting as any people would after so long. They yearned for peace, but how could anybody put so many years of war and bitter history behind them, if it was possible at all?
Fortunately, life would soon make that decision for them. Zorl Karlkovi, the ruthless son of one of the stronger tribal chiefs to the west rose to power after his father's death...a young man with brash dreams of glory like most were. However, he had the planning, the drive and slowly the numbers to make that dream a reality. He cut a bloody swath through Kirimaar, gaining followers and land as he went along and it seemed like he'd conquer the whole continent. Some whispered he'd made a deal with a dark power for his success, nobody knows how he was seemingly unstoppable but he was. Cunning, he built better siege weapons and learned how to use the divide among the realms to his advantage.

He arrived on the kingdoms' doorsteps, and most of them were tired and jaded from war and were trying their best to enjoy the shaky peace. Barely any of the neighbors trusted each other, but if they fell then there'd be no chance for them. The kingdoms' leaders decided to join forces, combining the strongest forces of their militaries...which was easier said than done but they managed to do it. They were defeated alone, but when allied together they became strong enough to push back and eventually defeat Zorl the Conqueror. What helped save them the most however was an elite team of the best warriors and thinkers assembled by the leaders' summit from all across the continent, a team known as The Elite. In a twenty year bloody and ruthless war, Zorl and his army were brought to heel by The Elite and those that they helped lead to victory. Those of the enemy army who surrendered were spared and banished back to their own own lands if they agreed to help repair the damage they caused. Those who didn't were tried, convicted and executed along with their leader.
Thus the first summit was born, and disbanded after deciding that they were better off allies than enemies. The continent finally enjoyed forty long years of true peace and tranquility, and children grew up not knowing the horrors of war. Trade flourished and it seemed that all was falling into place as it should. Unfortunately, this period of peace and prosperity is under a new threat...a new leader rose to become the tribal Queen of Zomaida, Zorl's old kingdom. This young woman was the daughter of Zorl, raised in obscurity and now prepared to rise up to continue the "good works" of her father by uniting all under one crown, by force if necessary. In her mind, this would ensure lasting peace but the other leaders know better. They know that nothing good could come of such a thing, and worrying reports to the south suggest that this will be Zorl all over again, but worse. Old alliances are being reforged, current alliances are being strengthened and tested, and now Kiriimar has to decide how they will deal with this new threat. It seems like another summit will have to be called and a new team of Elite assembled.

You will play as an eventual member of the Second Elite, either a kingdom leader, a military member, somebody with a special skill or just a civilian that's tired of war or fiercely patriotic. Each one of you will be swept up in the whirlwind that is the new threat of Zorl's daughter whether you wish it or not, and you have to decide whether you can work together with old enemies or tentative friends to defend this hard-won peace. Or do you wish to help this new rising warlord ignite this war once again either for hatred, glory or some other such thing. But just remember...united we stand, or divided we fall.

Surprisingly for my RPs, magic exists in this world but it's SUPER rare and only scattered handfuls of people even possess it...this will mostly focus on preparing for battles and going on an epic quest to stop your worlds for being conquered (or for gold/glory/lust/whatever). So most of us will NOT be magical and maybe one or two of the party will even have it. You'll have to rely on your skills and wits to win...remember, you guys are basically Seal Team 6 with widely different skill sets and none of the specialized training of working together. Chances are you've never even met before. So before we begin, let me bore you with Ze Rulez:

No godmodding, please be strong but not ridiculously OP. You have to have real weaknesses.
Each kingdom specializes in something, but still has weaknesses. You can be good at a couple of things but every place has weaknesses.
Four characters is the limit
Be respectful to each other, me and any co-ops I may have
If you're going to be gone long, let me know
No being gone longer than two weeks (especially if you're holding people up)
Any humanoid race is cool with me, as long as they have realistic weaknesses
No killing without permission of the one who made the character

NOW: GO FORTH AND HAVE FUN!

Oh hey, this looks fun! Immediate question: what does the ecosystem here look like? Is it basically just earth, earth with a few magical bois or something more like the D&D utterly ballistic ecosystems where every unholy monstrosity exists and will eat/kill you?
Disclaimer: Nothing said here is the product of a rational mind.
So...apparently I'm a decent writer. Um...wait, what?
Relativity, nukes in space, nukes in atmosphere, LASERs, MASERs, kinetic weapons, missile and kinetic CIWS, impactors and centripital force.

And, of course, for anything at all, you can always go here.

Kingdom Name: Zimaria
Brief History: Zimaria was formed when the Zima tribes and subtribes decided to unite as one nation after decades of forming and marrying for alliances. The other tribes of the land that wanted to join were welcomed into the fold, and the nation was called Zimaria or "land of the Zima" as the Zima tribe was the largest group of people and the nation was founded on their land. When they were still in the Warring Periods, they gained more land either through conquest or intermarriage until they became the kingdom they are today. Unfortunately, their land forces were never strong enough to make the country so large, so they are relatively small compared to most of its neighbors.
Geography: Zimaria is a maritime nation, small but proud of its heritage and connection to the sea, black sand beaches are all around its borders with rugged grasslands further inland making up most of the landscape. To the south, it's covered by dense rainforest and there are several active and dormant volcanoes (think a cross between Papua New Guinea and Hawaii).
Government Type: Constitutional monarchy; the emperor has most of the power but the Senate also has the power to check and balance him. The senate is also elected, as to give the people more of a say in their own destiny.
Leader(s): Her Serene Majesty, Queen Valaria van Emreis
Flag: Light blue background with a laurel wreath in the center. Inside that wreath is a golden crown over a silver anchor.
Main Races: Zima humans, characterized by dark skin ranging from light brown to burnt umber
Culture:
Strongest military branch: Navy
Weakest military branch: Cavalry
Other Strengths:
Other Weaknesses:
Brief military briefing (numbers of soldiers of each regimen, how many ships you got, jazz like that): 200 warships, 30,000 naval men. 25,000 ground forces in total which includes 1,000 archers, 10,000 cavalry. No battle mages.
Relationship to other kingdoms:

Character name:
Age: Zora Delstam-Montag
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Appearance: She has a cloud of bright auburn hair reaching just past her shoulders and russet-brown skin. She's 5'9 with an athletic but feminine build, hooded dark eyes and full lips. She has some scars on her body from the line of duty but is still considered good looking. Often seen wearing her officer's uniform.
Brief Bio: Born in Zimaria's capital to pottery merchants, Zora always had big dreams for herself and was always fascinated by the sea as a little girl. After her chores were done, she would sneak down to the harbor and watch the ships go by. Her parents didn't think much of it, they encouraged their daughter to explore her passions and make big footprints in the world. While other girls got older, started businesses, got married and had kids, she worked in her parents' shop for a little while and when she got older she'd join on a trade ship for a couple of years and then entered the navy as a midshipwoman. She rose through the ranks fairly quickly, and got promoted to captain due to her role in a confrontation with another kingdom.
Personality: Zora is fiercely patriotic and devoted to both her monarchs and her men, who would follow her anywhere.
Special Skills (magic counts too): She can tie sailors' knots and knows how to keep her head cool under pressure.
Occupation: Captain of the Zimarian Royal Navy
Strengths: Excellent sailor, tactician and commander...able to gain and keep the loyalty of her officers. She's devoted to her men and her country, and most days she's on the sea rather than at land. She's also pretty good at melee combat.
Weaknesses: She can be overbearing and stubborn, convinced that her way is the right way. This can prevent her from seeing other solutions which can be a huge hindrance. And she can be so tied up in the professional that aspects of her personal life suffer...being socially awkward doesn't really help matters. Sis' people skills need work, she needs to see life outside of a mission.
Equipment: Military issue saber, also a long dagger. Some medical supplies, smoke bombs, a map, a compass and food and water.
Goals: To protect her country, get promoted to admiral, go as far as she can in the navy, make a name for herself and travel the world. Also she wants to find love, if she can.

Kingdom Name: Fendori Federation
Brief History: While the clans and cities that make up the region of Fendor trace their lineage back hundreds of years, the actual federation itself is only 100 years old. The Fendori are descendants of what were once barbaric tribes seeking to escape the bonds and restrictions of civilization. However as time passed the tribes interacted with each other, they built settlements and eventually cities. As they entered civilization tribes were replaced by clans as the organizing political structure in the region. Even in major cities, clans served as an individual's primary sense of identity. For generations the clans remained independent, but as more and more powerful nations grew around them, many people across the region felt it was imperative that the tribes unite. This led to a bloody multi year conflict known as the War of Federation, in which the clans across the regions eventually all agreed(either willingly or by force) to join together in a federation that would be ruled by a king. It was agreed that the King would be selected by a vote among each recognized clan of the federation, and that each such clan had the right to nominate one candidate for the throne. The Federation often has found itself involved in military conflicts because of it's centralized location on the continent and fierce sense of independence. The Fendori were reluctant participants in the alliance but ultimately saw the importance in stopping Zorl Karlkovi.
Notable Clans within the Federation:
Clan Brandish- One of the more industrial clans that govern's the populated city of Eastwood. They are one of the more industrial and diplomatic political families in the federation, known for being cultured and well educated.
Clan Kaladi- The Kaladi are one of the Elvish families that hold a great deal of influence in the Federation. Known for their animistic beliefs and dedication to the environment, the Kaladi are known producing the key elemental mages across the region.
Clan Galad- Renowned hunters and trackers, who are known to be among some of the most feared archers in the continent. Not only do they use bows as their main weapons, Clan Galad also produces and sells bows as their main form of income. They are also famous for training animals such as wolves and hawks for combat.
Clan Kinarad- Clan of the current King, a clan that was relatively obscure before the last great war, but made a name for themselves when their leader at the time Parthan Kinarad played a pivotal role as a military leader for the federation. His nephew Quentin Kinarad is the current King of the Federation.
Geography: Fendor sits in the northern most part of the continent's center. To the north lies the Frozen Sea, to the east a large mountain range known as the Cadazi Mountains, while western and southern Fendor are filled with dense forests and river lands. Fendor's population is fairly spread out and decentralized, but its largest cities lay in the south, with the exception of Ceroda, a port city on the coast of the Frozen Sea.
Government Type: Federation Monarchy
Leader(s):Quentin Kinarad
Flag: Black background with a Silver Wolf in the center. The wolf is surrounded by a circle of 18 stars, representing each of the recognized clans of the federation.
Main Races: Fendori Humans, Fendori Elves/Wood Elves
Culture: The Fendori have a great deal of family loyalty and pride, and though their cultures are fairly varied, it is common for clans to have a respect for nature and animals.
Strongest military branch: Infantry/archers
Weakest military branch: Navy
Other Strengths: Slightly higher number of mages than other countries, unique assets such as trained wolves, elite squad of troops known as the Night Rangers.
Other Weaknesses: Minimal military centralization, reliance on foreign trade,
Brief military briefing:
60,000 foot when at full mobilization, 10,000 cavalry, 15 wartime naval vessels, approximately 1,000 sailors, the King's personal guard includes the Night Rangers(30 troops), the Guard Wolves(100 troops) and the Magi Circle(currently 5 mages).
Relationship to other kingdoms:

Character name: Felwen Galad
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Race: Half Human/Half Fendori Elf
Appearance: https://i0.wp.com/i.pinimg.com/originals/f7/48/07/f748076576c77066ac12ada8c1fe3776.jpg
Brief Bio: Felwen was born to a human father and an elven mother, his father a lesser noble of Clan Galad, and his mother a priestess for a small Elven clan. While Intermarriage and breeding between elves and humans is by no mean uncommon, within the nobility it is often frowned upon unless it is a prearranged political marriage. Because of this, Felwen was primarily raised among elves, both for his sake and to avoid the Clan any potential embarrassment. Felwen's childhood was a happy one, spending almost all of his time with the elves until he was 12 years old at which time his family sent him to the capital to live with the another noble family . Felwen's father Gareth, felt that this would be a great opportunity for him to experience human culture and society. At first Felwen struggled to make friends in this somewhat foreign environment, but luckily the family he was staying with had a son his age who quickly befriended Felwen. That boy was Quentin Kinarad. As Quentin rose among the ranks of the Fendori military, Felwen proved himself to be a skilled archer. When Quentin was elected king at 19, one of his first acts was to appoint Felwen a member of the Night Rangers. Two years ago when the leader of the rangers retired, Felwen was named his replacement and is now regarded as the best archer in the whole kingdom.
Personality: Falwen can best be described as trusting and loyal, one might think all warriors are aggressive and cold, but Falwen's service as a warrior is driven by a desire to protect more than a desire to kill. He does not have much of a formal education but is very in tune with nature and elven traditions. Falwen is serious when it comes to his job, but has a sarcastic/trickster side to his personality that he shows to those close to him.
Special Skills: Animal trainer(has a pet wolf named Shiva, and a raven named Neo), archery, tracking, first aid, survival skills
Occupation: Leader of the Night Rangers
Strengths: Archery, hunting, wooded territory
Weaknesses: Politics, sea travel, fire,
Equipment: Bow made of a native Fendori plant known as Gari, that makes an incredibly strong and flexible bow.
Goals: To protect his king, stay in touch with his elvish culture, and see more of the world.

Character name: Casteyne Kaladi (pronounced kas-STAIN), Cas for short
Age: 32
Gender: Female
Race: Elf (mixed drow and Fendori)
Appearance: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/9d/b1/b6 ... 223b71.png
Brief Bio: Cas was born in Fendori to an elven mage from Clan Kaladi, and a drow woman miner from the underground city of Karzarbaag. Her father often took her with him when he was working, she would sit on his desk and read his books...sometimes he had to stop her from playing with his magical items but it was clear that she took an interest in magic from a young age. She wasn't content with merely doing elemental magic, she wanted to do other things and dive into other branches to learn as much as possible. When she came of age, she joined the army as one of Fendori's battle mages and after five years was promoted to court wizard...joining the Magi Circle soon afterward.
Personality: The vivacious and witty Casteyne loves to attract attention, and she does this through her work with magic or her outgoing, flirtatious personality. She's a social, bisexual butterfly who's devoted to the safety of her kingdom and the furthering of her craft. Although she has a mischievous side, she's also very loving and genuinely does care about those closest to her.
Special Skills (magic counts too): Wind and air magic are her strong suit (including minor weather magic), second strong suit is alchemy
Occupation: Court Wizard of the Fendori Federation, Head of the Magi Circle
Strengths: Magic, friendly personality, speaks four languages
Weaknesses: She can be incredibly arrogant especially when it comes to her own magical power and thinks she can do everything herself sometimes. Also the typical squishy wizard problems.

Kingdom Name: The Bangouthian Remnant
Brief History: The Bangouthian Remnant is the final vestige of a once bigone Imperial age that had once extended over the entire south of the continent. Now reduced to a weakened Kingdom, the once-Emperors now hermit Kings lead the people with a loving, but strong hand. The Remnant was reminded just how weakened when the tribal horde had come to there door to demand they swear fealty. The Proud King Aemeron Primo refused to ever swear fealty to a horde that had no right to claim even the right of King. Especially over his land. The center of this former Empire, now the capital of the Kingdom was still the jewel of the southern continent, The Palace of Memory. The Palace of Memory was only the gateway to the lands of the Bangouthian Remnant. Resting atop a huge stone damn. The water that flowed through it feed the rivers that flowed further into the heartland of the country. In times of war with the heartland, the Bangouthians closed the Falls of Bangouthia and sent all the water flowing out towards the sea through the long flood-ditches and back into the country-side that the Palace protected. Atop this rise sat the Walls of Evenlia, which towered across the land. Bangouthia was a southern Kingdom with ideals of the southern hill people. After the Palace of Memory, the rivers head which rested on the coast was at the foot of the lone mountain of Renora. At the foot of the mountain, was the capital city of Bangouthia, Stanford. Its white marble walls illuminated the city when the moon-light hit just right. Bangouthia only had two cities. Memory and Stanford.

During the War of the Hordes as it was called in Bangouthia, when the call for the alliance was made, the Bangouthians marched north in full splendor. The hills of the southern continent had trained these soldiers to march with endurance. King Aemeron Primo, in his great armor and war-horse, agreed to join the alliance as long as his army was never called north again accept for the safety of the entire realm. Now, as the new Horde comes again, the words of Aemeron ring in the new KIng of the Bangouthian Remnant.

Geography: The Bangouthian Remnant rested in the south of the continent. Most of its territory along a pennisula that jutted out into the south sea. At the very end of the Pennisula was the lone mountain called Renora, where the capital city was dug into the very mountain. Her marble walls like extension of the very mountains fingers, guarding the outskirts of this capital city. To the north, rested the Palace of Memory, which, beautiful, was also the center of a massive defensive line. This defensive line rested on the Hills of Adrians which stretched across the pennisulas head. The hills that dipped low to allow roads into the Bangouthian territory were guarded by massive forts. Undermanned as years had gone by, some in need of major repairs and others to only be cleaned and made ready for service.
Government Type: Absolute monarchy
Leader(s): King Jordan Primo and Queen Megan Primo, Princep of the Senatorial Council Alex Hall
Flag: A waterfall with two hands being the flow-point in bright gold on a field of purple
Main Races: Elves with humans living in the settlements scattered beyond the Hill of Adrian
Culture: Warlike in days gone by. But now they focus on craftsmenship and beauty. The Remnant has begun to untangle its self from its warrior culture.
Strongest military branch: Army [Archers of Adrian]
Weakest military branch: navy
Other Strengths: The Remnant keeps its former power bright in there memory by carving and artwork showing the old empire. But, best to leaving the empire behind, wanted to build a new future for themselves. Hoping to begin to pave the road north to the rest of the Kingdoms to enter there neighbors homes with not war, but the fine things there country can produce.
Other Weaknesses: With craftsmen hearts, they often fail to remember for what they see as beautiful creations, they can also be used for war. Some in the Bangouthian army see these as tools of war. The Bangouthian Remnant have a high pride of themselves. Often able to gode into action by forcing there pride.
Brief military briefing (numbers of soldiers of each regimen, how many ships you got, jazz like that):
1st Army of Adrian, 20,000 (scattered across the twelve border forts along the Wall of Evelian) (Only army on constant full-strength)
2nd Army of Stanord 20,000 (10,000 based around Stanford and then garrisoned in roadside forts throughout the Pennisula) (only keeps 1/4 strength on duty, the rest awaiting mobilization order)
3rd Army of Bangouthia 10,000 (when called-up, based out of Stanord, can be deployed anywhere as needed after mobilization)
Red Guard of Bangouthia 2,000 full-time Royal Guard assigned to Stanford, mainly the palace district and the government buildings and banks. But are often seen leading investigation and acting as secret police for the Crown when needed
Blue Guard of Bangouthia 750 personal guard of the monarch. The Red Guard can be assigned to any member of the Royal Family, but the Blue Guard only guards the monarch and his/her heir.
5 naval warships
Relationship to other kingdoms:

Character name: Andrea Primo, Duchess of Asrul, the Iron Dove
Age: Seventeen
Gender: Female
Race: Bangouthian Elf
Appearance: Image
Brief Bio: Andrea Primo is the twin sister of King Jordan Primo. She has went north before the royal army of Bangouthia to see this Second Elite that has been called upon. Andrea is known as the Iron Dove of Asrul, the Dove being the sigil of House Primo. She commanded one of the Red Guard regiments and had earned her name in putting down a rebellion against her father at only age fifteen after taking command from her slain mentor/guardian. After this, she was a star of the Bangouthian army. She drilled like a regular soldier and read every book she could on war tatics. Good or bad. She was on horseback for most of her teenage life beside her father and mentors. She learned to lead men before she learned how to be a Duchess. Her brother was the politician, but she was the General of the Remnant. Her brother could order men, but she would only have to nod for them to march. Andrea was raised to know that there warrior culture was all they had once had. Her brother could lead to the new identity he had hoped for. But she knew what her people were. Soldiers. Who wanted an empire. But she was also raised to be loyal, loyal to her brother, more importantly, her King.
Personality: She is proud and loyal. She has incredible respect for soldiers. She has no respect for magic wielders as they are extinct in her homeland. Her pride is borderline arrogant as she has a high opinion of herself as a commander. She is very quiet and observant. A strange silence for a military commander.
Special Skills (magic counts too): She is an avid reader of people.
Occupation: Duchess of Asrul, Commander of the Bangouthian Remnant army
Weaknesses: Her ambition for a greater role of the Bangouthian Remnant in world affairs
Equipment: A standard Red-Guard uniform with the helm of a member of the Royal Family of Bangouthia. With a dove on top painted silver
Goals: Gather information on the Second Elite and report to Stanford. Personal goal, obtain strength of all Kingdoms and tribes on the continent to save for later.

Kingdom Name: Valaford
Brief History: Known as "The City of the Stars", Valaford is ancient and somewhat mysterious city-state in southern Kirimaar. The origins of the city are actually not well known. Valaford was discovered by a group of human refugees from a now extinct war-torn nation. They desperately searched for a safe place to settle, until they came upon a massive city, that they soon realized was entirely deserted. They cautiously searched the city, and discovered wondrous machines and architecture along with books filled with symbols they could not understand. After camping in the city for a few months, the refugees soon realized whoever the former inhabitants were, they weren't coming back. So, they set about making the city their own, and after a few centuries, the city of Valaford was known throughout the continent for their technological and magical marvels. The city has made a name for itself by using magical to build powerful inventions including weapons as well as civilian tools
such as magically powered lights and machines. One of the most important and controversial "inventions", was when a crew of Valafordian scientists experimented on humans in an attempt to make a stronger, more physically powerful race. After many years and atrocities, they were successful, and the Duarak were born. The Duarak were at first feared but soon came to be seen as a powerful resource. They were turned into a slave class, forced to labor for the benefit of the city state. After about a hundred years of this oppression, the Duarak rebelled and after a bloody war, they escaped bondage and formed their own civilization known a Durden. Ever since Valaford and Durden have been bitter enemies.

Since then Valaford has continued in general isolation, having sat out the first great war and refusing to join the elite. However, the city state has recently taken interest in this renewed conflict, and hopes to expand its influence abroad.
Geography: Valaford consists of single city state and its surrounding areas, and sits prominently on a large cliff facing out to the sea. It's high altitude is the reason it is called the City of the Stars.
Government Type: Oligarchy
Leader(s): Ruling council of eight members and one Supreme Leader, current supreme leader is Janis Hajor.
Flag: Golden background with brown gear in the center.
Main Races: Humans
Culture: Valaford is a vibrant and industrial city with many wonders and pleasures available for those with enough money or the right connections. It is also a city with a strict cast system and limited social mobility. At the top are the scientists, the scholars, and the general intellectual class that fuels Valaford's constant need for new forms of innovation. Then is the military class, the specially trained soldiers who answer directly to the city's ruling council. After them is the common people, the traders, farmers, simple craftsmen. Then finally the slave class. Slaves in Valaford are either criminals, or those who willing entered servitude in order to eventually gain citizenship. Many see this as abhorrent, but Valafordians defend it as a legitimate way to allow the poor and refugees to gain a meaningful place in society.
Strongest military branch: Artillery
Weakest military branch: Cavalry
Other Strengths: High tech level, strong economy/investment in the military, strategic location
Other Weaknesses: No cavalry, small population, limited alliances/foreign contacts
Brief military briefing: 20,000 infantry, 5,000 city guard, 20 naval ships 5,000 sailors,
Relationship to other kingdoms: Enemy of Durden

Race Name: Duarak
Appearance: Larger than humans, averaging around 7 feet tall, Duarak's have thick reptile like skin that gives them increased strength and durability. Their skin color is a soft purple, and male Duarak have ram like horns.
Brief History: The Duarak are a race born of cruel exploitation, and whose long history of oppression and slavery led to a violent uprising and eventually salvation. They were created by scientists and mages within the city of Valaford to serve as a source of manual labor for the city. But after hundreds of years of slavery, the physically imposing Duarak used their strength to overthrow their overseers and escape bondage. After a war that lasted over five years, they gained their independence and established the Free State of Durden.
Strengths: Physical strength, durability, fire resistant,
Weaknesses: Magic
Place of Origin: Valaford/Durden

Character name: Frida Caland, codename Moon
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Appearance: Heart-shaped face, olive skin, thick, curly red hair and large brown eyes. She has a scar over one eye and another on her mouth, she stands at 5'7 and has an athletic build
Brief Bio: Born the third and youngest child to wheat farmer parents in a border country called Katolis, Frida's life was spent between her parents' farmhouse and the lake at the edge of it...and except for interacting with the other children and citizens of the village, things were quiet and sheltered for the most part but they were happy. They didn't have much money and at times they had to go without, but they had each other and her parents always drilled the importance of family and sticking together into their children's heads. Unfortunately, that peaceful life would be shattered due to a conflict for the throne. Although the continent as a whole had enjoyed relative peace and stability, some civil conflicts and border fights would occasionally happen and one such conflict came to Frida's doorstep. The current king of Katolis and his cousin had gone to war for the throne, and several small villages were burned and raided...including Frida's. She lost her parents and both her siblings when their farmhouse was burned, and she fled into the barn to take shelter...managing to barely escape on one of the horses when it was set alight too. She rode as far as she could, but being so young eventually she got exhausted and collapsed somewhere. Opening her eyes after what felt like an eternity, she was surrounded by soldiers and several masked figures...one of them a beautiful fierce woman on a black horse. The woman explained that she was Zorl's daughter and she hoped to one day unite the continent in peace so that there'd be no more useless wars like the ones that took her parents. Slowly, the camp earned the trust of the young girl and they helped nurse her back to health. In return, Frida would take on chores like cooking or cleaning for the soldiers...and then she turned fifteen years old. Zorl's daughter asked her if she wished to be a soldier for the cause and desperate to avenge her family, she agreed. She wasn't built much for field combat, so Frida was assigned to the Blue Robes.

The Blue Robes are an order of highly trained and elite assassins that carry out political killings for their leader and occasionally take contracts for pay, delicate jobs that are reserved for those who can kill quickly and get out just as quickly. They are identified by the deep blue, almost black hooded tunics they wear so that blending into the dark is easy but yet they can be spotted by one of their own. Each Blue Robe also wears a plain white mask that covers the entire face except for holes cut out for the eyes, and on each mask is painted a single celestial body. A sun, a certain star, a planet, a moon, and these are the codenames they are identified by. Frida's codename is Moon, as she has a light blue crescent moon painted on the left side of her mask. She's been with the Robes for five years and has become rather adept at killing, her favored weapons are a pair of dual short blades that can be folded back into their handles when not in use, forged in Valaford.
Personality: Frida was a kind and trusting young girl who saw the good in most people, but after the deaths of her family she's become driven by revenge and has a much harder, colder personality. Mostly ruthless when it comes to doing her job, but some parts of the gentle person she once was are still hidden in there. She won't kill children and sometimes it can be hard to turn off her empathy, to be honest she doesn't like doing what she does. But she does it because she truly believes that this is the only way to save people from going through what she went through and to give the spirits of her family peace.
Special Skills (magic counts too): She knows quite a few ways to kill people, so there's that. She's also a decent medic and can administer first aid pretty well.
Occupation: Assassin/Contract Killer
Strengths:
Weaknesses: Her family and their memories...and as it's hard for her to she let go of her empathy all the way, sometimes it makes her slip up and make mistakes.
Equipment:
Goals:

One more kingdom app :P

Kingdom Name: Free State of Durden
Brief History: Established after the Duarak uprising, the Free State of Durden is an independent nation that has existed for over one hundred years. Durden operates as a representative democracy, with each city and town in Durden electing a representative for a national senate. The Duarak fiercely value their independence and freedom, and have a strong sense of racial identity after centuries of oppression. The Duarak have never had particularly good relations with any human kingdoms as there is a great deal of mistrust on both sides. Durden participated in the first Elite, but after taking heavy causalities in the first war, there is not unanimous consent among the nation as to who to support in the second conflict.
Geography: Durden sits to the north of Valaford, in a land full on plains and hills. The Tolden river splits the nation in two, and Durden is known for having fertile land and massive grazing fields for livestock.
Government Type: Representative Democracy
Leader(s): Elected Senate
Flag: A deep blue background with a black and silver ram with thick horns on it.
Main Races: The Duarak
Culture: The Duarak have significantly different customs than most other races. Firstly, they have little sense of family. Children are raised collectively by communities and there is no real sense of marriage or monogamy. The Duarak also have a fierce sense of honor and are quick to challenge those who insult it to battles to the death. The Duarak also have significantly less gender norms than common human society, as their are no defined social norms or expectations for people of different backgrounds.
Strongest military branch: Cavalry
Weakest military branch: Navy
Other Strengths: Physical strength of soldiers, strong smithing, economically self sufficent
Other Weaknesses: Democratic bureaucracy, no navy, cities do not have massive walls or infrastructures like other older countries.
Brief military briefing: 30,000 infantry, 15,000 cavalry
Relationship to other kingdoms: Distrustful of human kingdoms

Looks fun. Heres a take on the rats of nimh meats the human centipede with some bits from Vorkuta in black ops and some artificing.

Race Name: The Forgotten
Appearance: The only common trait in appearance among the forgotten is a vaguely humanoid figure.

Brief History: The Forgotten are a group of Humans of unknown background. The only memories anyone has is of being kept in "the stone crypt." A group of three magic users and their numerous assistants had been messing with dark forces, and using sciences that shouldn't be used in conjunction. Day in day out, the forgotten were the subjects of experiments, tests, and surgeries that should by all means have killed them. Instead, through magic, or something far more sinister, the forgotten were kept bloodied broken, and alive. When they weren't the subjects of rigorous probing, they worked in mines. Until one day, a lone worker fought back. When the driver went to whip him for insubordination, he lashed out. In a fit of rage, completing the corruption inside his mind and body. Man gave way, and a new breed of animal was born. A beast of metal and muscle, an abomination. Knifes replaced fingers, vital organs were strung over modified bone structure out in the open, and skin simply no longer existed. The humanity died, and an empty space inside of the monsters were formed, figuratively and physically. As the crypt burnt behind them, they looked to the alpha. He took a flag from the ground, scorched at the tips, and draped it over himself. Others followed suit, and covered themselves in their entirety. And on he marched, his nomadic tribe following suit. 30 strong after the riot, the animals prowl the streets of small villages at night, slaughtering cattle and draining wells. The nocturnal beasts await the day they may find a place in this world.

Strengths:
Natures Perfect Predator- The Forgotten are the result of years of experiments mixing biology, engineering, and artificing magic. The result is a faster stronger and more agile beast.
Terrifying presence- The forgotten have remnants of dark forces in every fiber of their being. They radiate a presence of chaos and death, warding off potential smaller adversaries.
Wolfpack- while only 30 remain, the forgotten have a member for every task. Trackers, hunters, colossal sentries, all have their place. The strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack.

Weaknesses:

Monsters- many consider the forgotten unholy abominations, to be out out of their misery and put down. This is largely due to their vastly lowered intelligence, and grotesque behavior and appearance. Rumors of what sits under the cloak are disturbing at best.
Morons- of the 30 forgotten, 3 can speak. The Alpha, and his 2 leaders. Even they, can only speak in basic forms, and with poor grammar. Not quite a caveman, but far from were the rest of the world sits. In general, the forgotten are not the brightest of the races.
Rage- The emotional spectrum of the forgotten is limited, and after the process has completed, each individual houses a boiling pot of rage ready to spill over at a moment's notice. It makes the forgotten dangerous, but very predictable and easy to lure into a trap.

Place of Origin: None

Heavy WIP, not sure what other weaknesses to include because he feels to strong right now as in "the only way to beat him in a fist fight is to hit him harder" and that's no bueno.

Character name: Alpha
Age: ???
Gender: Male
Race: Forgotten
Appearance: Alpha is a tall forgotten, standing at 9 feet. Under his cloak, he is similar in figure to a human, excepting that his legs are digitigrade. The composition however, is of thin metal and bone structure covered in muscle tissue covering a few necessary organs. Alpha also has an elongated neck, and a sharp skeleton head. None of this is visible however as aside from the occasional rapid movement of a hand he is completely covered as all forgotten are. TLDR; like general grievous and the fallen had a cyborg baby.
Brief Bio: Alpha was the first experiment of the crypt. He remembers the most, as more and more people were dragged in, and worked in the mines. When he collapsed at work, and was whipped by a driver. He triggered a reaction completing his transformation and releasing unbridled rage. His fingers sharpened, and next he was eviscerating the poor man like a dissection.
Personality: Alpha lacks much of the emotional complexity to have much personality, but understands this much and is actively seeking out cures to this and other ailments of the forgotten.
Special Skills: Alpha is a monster in combat. Literally. With no reservations of killing, and a body designed for murder, Alpha will shred almost any opponent who dares to get up close and personal.
Occupation: Pack leader
Strengths: Alpha is fearless in death and powerful in combat.
Weaknesses: Predictable and unstable, Alpha is the greatest ally and worst enemy. Easily played, Alpha can be cornered easily, allowing him to be overpowered through a variety of means.
Equipment: Only a cloak
Goals: Restore intelligence and humanity too forgotten, establish permanent lifestyle and residence.
