Edward Nealon's dream took shape when he opened his first department store in 1927 in downtown Passchendaele. Nealon's Department Store offered a wide range of quality products from around the world and maintained the highest standards in service. Nealon's today continues these traditions of quality and service, providing the best shopping experiences available in the Democratic Colonies and beyond.

Store services have been continually updated as the newest technology becomes available. The modern Nealon's shopper able to summon a helpful sales associate through a simple motion through the free mobile app, and is able to get directions to different departments or specific items through advanced augmented reality features built into the app. By loading the app into smart glasses or simply holding up their phones, shoppers are able to seamlessly see lines and text overlaid into their vision directing them in the right directions.

Regardless of location, whether with a greater shopping mall or in a standalone building, all Nealon's Department Stores offer free parking redeemable with purchase as well. In addition, holders of the free Nealon's Loyalty Card receive free parking regardless of whether or not they make a purchase, and those invited to receive exclusive Nealon's Select Club Cards receive complimentary valet parking and automated car wash with every visit.

"Interesting history they've got in Rinpek," said Danielle McNamara, leaning back in her padded leather seat. "Have you read their dossier?"

"I've read their dossier," said Greg Crossley from an identical seat. The two were sitting on opposite sides of a conference table, a few folders of documents between them. They were both early for a meeting of company executives, and took the time to share their thoughts with one another.

"Well?" asked Danielle expectantly.

"Well, I think their government's a little autocratic, but they're not fascists or anything," said Greg. "They're a country I'd be happy to see us do business in, I think their country is a nice little place, and their money's just as good as anyone else's."

"Funny you should mention their size, Rinpek's not very big..." said Danielle cautiously.

Greg shrugged. "They're a city state, they've got the density to support one store," he said. "What, are you having doubts?"

"No, but I know Aaron Lang's going to have doubts, so I wanted to see what you thought," Danielle said. "If we both push for a green light, we'll get the go-ahead in Rinpek, I'm sure."

"What about Willitya?" asked Greg. "My staff is saying to go, and I did have a look, but I didn't have as much time to do a deep dive on them myself."

Danielle motioned vaguely at one of the folders on the table, flipping it open to reveal data and figures about Willitya.

"My staff said to go as well, and I'm inclined to agree with them," said Danielle. "Economic indicators are solid, government appears responsible, society appears stable. I say we give it a go. Don't worry about it, this call is more my wheelhouse than your's anyways."

Greg nodded, then looked at his watch - an Omega Seamaster. At about $7,500, the mechanical watch was on the higher end of items carried at Nealon's.

"What, is it time?" asked Danielle, looking at her own watch. A $500 Citizen Eco-Drive, Danielle's watch was one that sold in much higher volumes at the department store.

"We've got 10 minutes, people are going to start coming in soon," said Greg. "You ready to pitch this?"

Danielle smiled. "Everyone wants expansion, even if Aaron can be a little indecisive. The deals are half closed, we just have to get everyone's signature.

Danielle let out a low whistle as she scrolled down on her tablet, reviewing once more the information about the United States of Ibica.

"You like what you see?" asked Greg with an amused smile on his face.

"A well developed country with a lot of good purchasing power floating around? You know it," said Danielle. "One thing that catches my eye as well is the dominance of the car in that country. Let me read to you: 'Personal transportation is dominated by automobiles, which operate on a network of 2 million miles of public roads.' I think we know a few people who'd be interested in what we're developing here."

"You owe our friends at the Automotive Division a favour?" asked Greg.

"Oh, they'll owe me a favour after I let them in on this," said Danielle.

"Well, I know you'll have no such luck with Cat-Herders United," said Greg. "I remember the phrase they used - 'auto-ban on our autobahn.' Clever, huh?"

"Very funny. Unfortunately our friends flogging sedans will have to miss out on Cat-Herders United, but I see plenty for us to be happy about," said Danielle. "Overall population of 42 million, urban population of 13.6. We do a three-store spread like in the proposal, and I think the demand is there."

Greg frowned. "This is your department, but these won't be huge stores, right? An urban pop of 13.6 is something, but it's not exactly downtown Passchendaele."

"No eight-storey standalones with a million square-feet per floor, but we could probably do three or four storey shops of a more reasonable size... maybe 600,000 square feet total, plus underground parking. Those will still be solid earners," said Danielle.

Greg smiled. "I was wrong to doubt you. You sound all set," he said.

"I'm always set," Danielle responded. She raised an eyebrow with mock seriousness. "Aren't you?"

There are no additional regulatory burden is required of corporations making use of Trade Ibica. The program mostly functions to cut through red tape. Rather than a company having to fill out paperwork with each jurisdiction on every level of government to open a single location, any relevant information is provided to the program and we fill out all the relevant applications, which we keep on hand, and submit them on your behalf. Soft piano music serenaded Danielle McNamara and Greg Crossley as they dined. Steaks, rare for Danielle and medium-rare for Greg, sat half-eaten in front of them.

"Have you seen the clothes from Betterment Fashion Suppliers?" asked Greg. "I was curious as to what you thought."

"Because I'm a woman, or because I just have an innate sense of style?" asked Danielle teasingly. "Don't worry, I know you're just asking. I did look, and I think they look good. Are you going to pick them up?"

Greg nodded. "Our stylists thought they looked good too, so we're picking them up. Betterment will be on our racks soon."

The two paused for a moment as a waitress stopped to refill their glasses of wine.

"So you think it's a go or no-go on Abarri?" asked Greg, before taking a sip of wine.

"Go, it's an easy choice," said Danielle. "Remedios City and Uraneta City, good with me."

"Not the capital, what's it... Ambarri?" asked Greg with a surprised tone.

Danielle shook her head. "We'll try in those two cities first, they're still in the top five in population for Abarri. If things go well, then we'll see about Ambarri."

"Alright, well, it's your call," said Greg.

"Damn right," said Danielle with a smile. "Stick to your department - speaking of which, what did you think of Luxutun vacuums? Will we be carrying the things?"

Greg nodded. "We'll give it a try. Kern Jewelers too, we'll give them a try, see how they do in the jewelry department."

"I'm sure they'll move, diamonds are a girl's best friend," said Danielle. "I expect we'll see especially good business for that brand in Reino do Brazil, where they're from. We're moving to open 150 stores there."

"I heard," said Greg. "That's a big wave."

"It's a diverse, multicultural country with about 9 billion people, you're damn right we've pushing with a big wave," said Danielle. "They're modernizing their highways as well, they call it the Motoway System. Another opportunity for the Automotive Division, if we can convince Reino do Brazil to let us build car dealerships in the stores - maybe a third of them, we'll ask for."

Greg laughed. "That part, I hadn't heard about. The Automotive Division should give you a free car, you're doing so much leg work for them."

"They don't have to do that... but I wouldn't mind owning something with a V12," Danielle said slyly. "We're also expanding into the Colony of Beloura and Lereka, and I think we're going to ask to open car dealerships in Lereka too. They have a well developed road system, lots of state-owned roads as well as tollways. Lots of potential car sales, I think."

Greg shook his head. "At this rate, they're going to need to give you something with a twin-turbo V12..."
