IC THREAD LINK
Obvious to those who have read the IC intro, this is a classic trope set up - A MT/early PMT RP consisting of a rebel insurgency on a tropical island nation, with full blown ethnic and ideological strife occuring. Unfortunately, it is not open unless you are either a member of the ISVC, ISC or the NS PMC Guild, and a couple select invited guests, so please no posting to this thread unless you have been cleared. Membership can be obtained from those organizations by visiting the linked threads. To participants, please don’t post after a spam/uninvited post until we have sufficient time to get it deleted.
It is understood by the participants on both sides (ISVC/Marxists and PMC Guild/Jaraguptan government backers) that standard good conduct NS RP rules will be abided by (ie no godmodding/metagaming, no one-liner or poor quality posts, no WMDs or other escalation that hasn’t been agreed to by both sides, no OOC posting in the IC thread, just to name a few)
In short, we are striving for a good quality thread that all involved can enjoy, so anything that interferes with that will be dealt with accordingly. (We already cut one player who refused to follow these guidelines despite several warnings.)
Arbitration in OOC disputes will done be by the OP, a puppet of a NS F&I Mentor, and internally within both involved organizations. Any other questions can be directed to the OP via TG, if not to this OOC thread. Thank you for your understanding.
THE KINGDOM OF JARAGUPTA
An island grouping in the Northeast Wishton Sea.
The main island is approximately 9,700 square kilometers.

The other most populated cities and towns in order are:
Mehatar
Suraksha
Tuzarkha
Gyani
Pradhaan
Nartaki
Nevala
Government
Crown Rajah: Jawamadav Prabhunadabaj
Prime Minister: Karam Anagatya
Parliament of 40 MP
The government receives aid from several capitalist, democratic nations and monarchies, such as Riysa and New Hyannis.

Royal Guard Commander: Gen. Uraban Halaganda
Nat. Police Commander: Gen. Vineet Chowdhury
Air Force Commander: Gen. Keshav Gayarvad
Naval Commander: Admiral Ranav Goshkhalat

Royal Army: 14,000
Air Force: 3,000

National Police: 7,000
The Jaraguptan Royal Armed Forces
The military had been maintained in order to defend against a possible invasion from Hutanjia, The Cardwith Islands, or Gaulic forces based in Dachine - all neighbors in the Wishton Sea, but they have increasingly been more focused on fighting the Hamikh separatists than worrying about external threats.
The national police operates as a gendarme, as well as a backup militia to the Royal Army. They maintain stations in all the cities, major villages and towns and satellite islands. They have suffered the most casualties in the ongoing fight against the insurgency.
The government has been working with the PMC Guild to contract several units of mercenaries to aid in their fight against the insurgency and to train the Gendarmes and elite units of the Royal Army and Guard to continue COIN operations once the contract ends.
Economics & Resources
There have been several precious and vital mineral deposits discovered in recent years, but the nation has not had the financial means to extract them. Several international companies want to come in to establish mines and excavation operations, but they will not commence operations until the Hamikh insurgency is quelled or minimized.
The islands of Savaal and Chamatkaar have been stripped almost dry for their rich bird and bat quano deposits. Environmentally, the islands are in crisis due to the lack of care in extracting the guano. Hamikh laborers are forcefully shipped to the island to work for weeks at a time in harsh conditions for little pay. Several of them have died. The native populations of these two islands have dwindled to almost nothing, but the Hamikh laborer population has grown.
Culture & Ethnicity
Ethnic groups: Tamars are the dominant majority, with most of the government and military being Tamar. They are also overwhelmingly Hindu worshippers, The Rajah is considered a god within their sect of Hinduism.
The Hamikh are the strongest minority. They are predominantly Sikh devotees and make up a good portion of the southern population of the main island, with Hamikhs also making up a majority portion of the population of the other islands, with a significant minority on Gahana. They are oppressed by the Tamar and there have been several Hamikh rebellions throughout Jaraguptan history.
The Insurgency
HNLA: Hamikh Nationalist Liberation Army
Leader: Bhavadam Khan
Sikh Nationalist group that wants to liberate the Hamikh people under their flag.
They can call on approximately 2,500 combat effectives
HDLF: Hamikh Democratic Liberation Front
Leader: Tarun Ghalujan
A Marxist Hamikh group that has grown in popularity over the years. At their high point, they could call on about 10,000 effectives, both combat and support roles. After severe government crackdowns, recruitment has fallen. They have pleaded to the International Socialist Congress and the ISVC for help in their struggle.
The HNLA and HDLF have worked together against the monarchy and government on occasion, but more often they are at odds, due to differing ideologies and devotion or lack of devotion to the Sikh faith in the case of the HDLF.
