The year is 1920, and two years after the 2nd Great European War the axis of power have shifted. The Togerian Republic narrowly escaping defeat by declaring armistice has found significant portions of its once great empire in turmoil. Deciding the place forth foremost concern in African and Asian investments as being more lucrative portions of the Republican Navy were allocated to bolster existing colonies with a rebellion in Egypt in 1917 leading to a loss of the colony, quickly recovered however by 1918 by the Somali purchase and the Morocco campaign concluded as of 2/14/1919. It has now been one year later and the Republic now finds itself fighting strengthen its own ties in Africa and Asia makes concessions to give greater autonomy to India and South Africa. However due to the nature of the Republic the Former Crown Colonies (F.C.C.) of Parica and Oceania have been in open rebellion.

The seeds of new ideologies have been planted in Europe, formed from the shared belief of serving the people but different in their paths. The most polar of these philosophies lay within the heart of the continent with only time as the ultimate decider of if they may reach coexistence.

In Asia a land far shrouded in mystery even in the year of 1920, one power acts as gate keeper, Akarou a power once thought alien and isolated a hermit state but with negligence, laziness, and ignorance from their adversaries they have managed to propel themselves as the greatest of powers not only within their region but the world. Few have the resources and fewer still the energy to challenge their hegemony, but the question remains how far does their own energy extend?

*King Ricciotti Garibaldi Of Italia/Francesco Guinta

The great war in Europe had rocked the Italian Peninsula and the lands that still lay within her sphere. Almost two million young Italians had lost their lives to the fighting in Southern France against Togerian and French troops. Despite being on the side of the eventual victors, the people of Italia had grown tired of the relatively young Garibaldi Monarchy that had ruled over Italy since unification in the early 1870s. Ricciotti Garibaldi, the second son of Giuseppe Garibaldi and third/current King of Italia, had grown much popularity in the late 1890s due to the war efforts made against the collapsing Ottoman Empire and the subsequent successor states that had grown out of it. The campaigns had been wildly successful with much of the Balkan territories falling to Italian control by the year 1910. The city of Istanbul would fall to Italian forces in the year 1912 as the Turks were pushed further and further into Anatolia. The Turks would surrender in the spring of 1913 thus marking the end of a nearly 13 year long conflict. Italia had avoided the first European war however the start of the second in 1914 saw the Italian people align themselves with the Germanic people to the North. The relationship between the two states would be one based in theory of mutual survival. Ties with the German state were quickly cut upon the ending of the war in 1918 and with that came the beginning of a new era for the Italian Kingdom. The loss of life and consistent wars of the first 20 years of the new century allowed for the brewing of radical ideologies such as Socialism and a new form of extreme nationalism called Fascism which pushed for the merging of corporate and state power under a strong centralized state. Fascist ideology quickly spread through cities such as Rome, Naples, and Venice as the Balkans and Anatolia would see the spread of more traditional socialist ideologies. In response to these growing anti monarchy movements, the king would mobilize nearly 75% of the Italian army into the Balkans and Anatolia in hopes of cracking down on Socialist sympathies as he saw Fascism as a much smaller threat. This mobilization provided an opportunity that many Fascist Ideologues had been dreaming of for several years with one such ideologue being Francesco Giunta. Francisco Giunta was born in 1887 in the Italian region of Tuscany. He would go on to university to study law and would enter the profession upon his completion at school however the call for man power led him to become a machine gunner in the Italian Royal Infantry during the final campaigns into Anatolia. Upon leaving the military in 1914, Giunta became a fierce opponent of the King as the second European war broke out. Seeing bloodshed himself, he accused the King of being nothing more than a traitor who sent men off to die in pointless wars over imperial squabbles. He would make a living by running a black market operation that provided arms, munitions, and other supplies to any group that opposed the king whilst also occasionally giving private speeches on the matter of the kings treason. This allowed him to gain a rather large group of sympathetic followers throughout Italy. In 1917, Giunta would be introduced to the ideology of Fascism by some of the men who had become his close confidants and he took to it extremely quickly. A nationalistic third way between Capitalism and Communism, that was fiercely against both the rule of a king and of God above was incredibly appealing to the man. By the end of the second war, Giunta was giving private and sometimes public speeches on the regular in support of the ideology and the eventual overthrow of the King. The year 1920 would further shake the Italian peninsula as the mobilization of the Italian Royal Army to the Balkan states had spread out military presence within the peninsula itself. In late January of 1920, Giunta and nearly 40,000 men under him gathered in Rome and began a march on the Kings Palace. Police men and military personal were brutally killed as followers of Fascism stormed the palace eventually bringing the king and his family out by the backs of their necks. Giunta, the de facto leader of the uprising called for the swift public executions of the King and all nobility that dared to defy the march of time. The king, his sons, and grandchildren would all be drawn and quartered in the center of Rome for the eyes of the world to watch. Giunta quickly declared the formation of the National Italian Republic with himself being made Prime Minister and supreme wielder of military power of Italy. Italian troops in Italia would quickly surrender the uprising as they began to march under the new fascist banners. Troops in the Balkans, likewise, joined the fascist government out of fear for their families and loved ones. This enabled the new government to hold control over the Balkans despite massive socialist uprisings in response to the events in Italia. A new day had risen for Southern Europe and only god knows when the sun will undoubtedly set.

The Birth of a Nation.

With the end of the first world war, the boarders of the world changed drastically. Kingdom fell, and governments were reformed. The many brave men that fought in the Armies of the Togarian Monarchy came home to a thriving homeland. The Bread basket of Africa, The Colony of Rhodesia. But they did not come back to peace. The Former colonies of thus defeated Imperial power sin Europe sought to claim said bread basket for them selves. The man of the African Corps came home to a Country fighting on all sides from former imperial troops, to African tribal, to rival political fringe groups.

As a act of Emergency, the Provisional Government was set up to properly run and arm the small militia army while the Regulars were away. Now that said regulars were back (and numbering some 30,000 battle hardened and trained troops, roughly two infantry regiments and a Support regiment) they were forming the fore front of a new military force, one stationed at strategic locations through out the countryside to aid in defending farmers and smaller towns from Tribal attacks and the like.

With the agricultural Business booming, the "Rhodies" found them selves among the wealthiest and most well off of the Citizens of Africa. Both black men and white men could own there land, and the long standing tribal conflicts had been settled peacefully for now.

But with the sudden death of the king, and the disappearance of much of the royal family, and being one of the few colonies still holding on dearly to the ideals of the Monarchy, the fledgling nation would soon find it self the center of attention.

The Akarō Shogunate

For over four hundred years, Japan has been under the de-facto rule of the Akarō clan, who were the ultimate victors of all the combatants in the bloody struggles of the Sengoku period. Prior to the late conflicts of that age, they were actually a rather minor clan with no particularly storied past or glories to be told of, and are generally speaking beneath even a footnote's level of mention. Their rapid gains in power and influence, and the gathering of other forces to their service was one of the great surprises of the era, gathering up most of the remaining territories of Japan to their service just prior to the death of Oda Nobunaga, and seizing ultimate control by the defeat of Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu.

Such a miraculous event should've never happened. This impossible turn of events was partially because of the military capability and charisma of Akarō Norihiro(赤狼憲博), but to be entirely honest that while above average, his ability was most certainly inferior to those other legendary men of the period. Good fortune played a significant part of the matter as well, but there was one other trick the Akarō had up their sleeve, one they made certain to use judiciously and to avoid allowing its true nature to be fully revealed. One which, despite these efforts, has nonetheless found its way into rumour and whisper ever since. For, under the strictest of definitions, the Akarō clan are not entirely human. Indeed, six or seven generations preceding him, a monster entered the Akarō bloodline. The blood of the Oni is not so easily washed away as any human traits may be, and its manner of transmission is not precisely the same as ordinary genetic information.

Those of the Akarō lineage to this very day(though this is more a result of intentional planning and occasional inbreeding than the staying power of the blood alone) still retain the beast's mark. Save for in rare cases in which the blood flows particularly strongly, it is difficult to recognize the inhuman ancestry of members of the clan except for when they call upon its power. The abilities of those capable of doing so are all unique and not hereditary, and thus the actual usefulness, application, and details vary substantially. Still, such things proved to be very useful trump cards in the field, and despite efforts to keep it under wraps, gossip and rumours have still bled out over the centuries.

This power, as with all dealings with demons, comes at a price however. It is rare for members of the Akarō clan to live past their fifties as a general rule, and the few that do almost frequently end their lives in madness. Many die at childbirth or in their early years, and the bloodline is riddled with problems. Further, the more one calls upon the oni's power, the more it consumes its holder. Should they go to far, the power begins to warp the victim's mind and often their body as well, and they lose all trace of sanity and become little more than bloodthirsty demons. Even should they never use their powers, the pull grows stronger with age and many begin to crack. Suicide is thus an extremely common terminus for the Akarō. Despite this, however, the clan leadership finds this to be an acceptable tradeoff in exchange for the abilities it grants them, and thus continue to ensure its prominence within the bloodline.

Since the Shimabara Rebellion, they have maintained a policy of isolation from the outside world as to maintain the integrity of Japanese culture and to limit the influence of foreign powers. In this time, they have worked to uphold their way of life, and to expunge other elements deemed to be "detrimental to the core of Japanese identity", including the separation of Shinto and Buddhism and the persecution of the latter.

However, the nation is no longer completely isolated. The Shogunate decided to open up nearly seventy years ago, citing the need to industrialize with Western experience. Foreigners were allowed into certain specified "free trade zones", originally in Taiwan, and Tsushima, though this has been shifted to colonial territories in the mainland recently.

During this initial period, a struggle ensued between the Shogun and the Imperial Court, as the latter attempted to retake control of the nation from the former. A civil war between the two powers began, and in the end the Shogun was victorious, the old Emperor deposed and a relative replaced on the Chrysanthemum Throne to once again act as mere puppet.

The end result was that while Japan would adopt Western technology and infrastructure, they would continue to zealously guard their culture and would not reform the government. While the state remained, at least officially, feudal for a time after the war, this been de-facto eliminated over the last few decades. Initially, the system of vassals ruling over their own territories and providing their own elements to the military was maintained and, indeed, was a driving factor behind support for the Shogun. However, the Akarō realized that the old ways would be unfeasible to maintain in their purest form for long, and so power has been gradually shifted and centralized towards the Shogun. Regulations on the other clans were increased, and while they are still, technically, allowed to maintain their own samurai and defense forces, their numbers and equipment are heavily restricted. All new territories admitted into the Empire since 1905 have been placed under the Akarō Clan's jurisdiction exclusively.

In only a matter of decades, Japan was transformed from an insular, divided country of feuding states into a unified, expansionist empire. It now seeks to become more than a simple regional overlord, and become a world power. It has expanded into Siberia, into China, into Southeast Asia, and looks towards the West as it continues to expand.

The Revolutionary Spirit

Late 1918

War has once more gripped the European Continent. A land of Great Empires, forged throughout the past centuries, has proved itself vulnerable to man's base instincts, even if technology has surpassed the wildest dreams of those in the century before. Hundreds of thousands of men march to their graves, facing the hellish, brutal landscape that Warfare brings, as behind these Armies the might of entire Nations stands behind them, factories producing guns and bullets to fuel the meat grinder of war. The war dragged itself across many years, families were shattered in the name of the Fatherland, the People grew restless, weary from war and agitated from the brutish reign of the Kaiser. Germany spanned across much of Central Europe, it has grown strong and powerful over the past half century, becoming an industrial powerhouse backed by a strong government and an iron-willed people. But even Iron can bend under enough pressure. Factory conditions were largely poor, safety regulations were kept at a minimum during the war to ensure maximum production efficiency, as the German Navy was continuously sent out against overwhelming odds in near suicidal missions as the commanders sat in the safety of the port. The Bonfire had all the resources it could possibly need, all it took was one action to push it into igniting into the Flame of Revolution. The War was initially in Germany's favor, the Resource and Manpower Rich nation held an advantage over it's enemies, but poor decisions and poorer planning led to the Great War stalling, the advances abruptly brought to a halt behind the barbed wire and trenches along the Western and Eastern Fronts. The Blockades locked out many needed resources to keep the nation alive, Food being the most prominent, as the People grew hungry over the years despite the best efforts of the Kaiser and his government. Life in one of the most industrial nations grew miserable, but the War continued on, with the fleeting hopes that somewhere, some how, an offensive of desperation can break the stalemate and tip the tides in Germany's favor. It was decided in the closing months of 1917 that there would be a grand assault in efforts to break the French and Togerian Armies in the West. At first, what results came back were positive, land was being gained and the Western Powers were drawn back. But soon, either through the poor weather or the will of the Western Armies, the offensive halted. Thousands more would perish for an objective that wasn't even in reach. This was the match that the Bonfire oh so desperately needed. The Anger, the Anguish, the Frustration of the Worker, the Farmer, the People would be taken out on the Imperial Government. Across Germany, in nearly every Major City, Civilians and Soldiers alike took up arms, rising up for an End to this Misery, for an End to the Horrible Conditions the German People have faced for what was a Pointless War. The Navy would revolt, as Ports would fall under their hand. Together, the Sailor, The Worker, and the Soldier would declare Der Deutsche Unionsstaat, the movement for the Worker's State of Germany was in set in motion. As peace was made on the War fronts, The Military would be divided on who they were loyal too, as much of the country would fall under the DUS's Control. Fierce fighting in the streets of Vienna, Berlin, and Stuttgart would leave lasting marks of the Revolution, as these battles were the first of many to protect the People's Revolution, as the last night of 1918 would be marked by Gunfire throughout much of Germany.

DUS Militia and Soldiers fire upon Loyalist Counterrevolutionaries

1919

The Revolutionary Militias and disorganized Units soon formed into a Well-Formed Fighting Force, as they swept across the Rhineland, Northern Germany, and much of Poland without much resistance, as this was the heartland of the German Industrial Machine. On January 12th, the DUS Officially Declared Sovereignty and proclaimed itself the proper successor state to the German Empire, led by a Congress of various leaders of the revolution, Sailors, Workers, and Soldiers blazed the trail for the Gewerkschaftskongress, where it was declared the average working citizen can become a leader of the state if they so desire. Fortunes were very much in the favor of the DUS, as they had popular support and retained the largely undamaged industrial centers across Germany, but a thorn remained in the side of the progress of Socialist Germany. The South. Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Western Austria provided a stiff, fierce resistance to the Congress's Rule. The Most Conservative Sections of the German Empire clung to the hopes that a foreign power would intervene on their behalf, as they remained behind the River Main and the Southern Portion of the Rhine with a hemorrhaging army and a quickly deflating supply of munitions. To the East, DUS sympathizers rose up in Vienna and various other urban centers in Austria, taking hold of Eastern Austria and applying pressure to the Loyalist's south. The newly formed Revolutionäre Armee von Deutschland marched southwards, the outmatched Loyalists retracting further and further south. In Berlin, the Congress would consolidate itself as economic reshuffling, newly levied taxes, industrialization programs and plans for general demobilization were put into place. It was also put into effect that in the year 1920, the first Elections of the Congress would be performed across the Nation. The Aftershock of the Great War on top of the Revolution were now placating itself within the German People, as they looked on Somber, yet Motivated to put their Blood, Toil, and Sweat to good use, and in the name of the Revolution, Germany shall be rebuilt. Farther South, the Loyalists, faced with no hope of foreign intervention, retreated further into the Alps, as they resorted to guerrilla tactics and disruptions in Southern Germany, as their core army has shrunk down significantly, and they resorted to supply lines through Switzerland to maintain the fading fight. The Revolutionary Army kept the Loyalists on their toes, as attacks into the Mountains were common to hear of as news throughout Germany in this time. A side effect of the Great War was the liberation of Eastern Europe from the Eastern Empires. Originally, this would be in Germany's Favor as a buffer zone from any other threats from beyond, but as a Socialist Ally rises in the East, Berlin looks on with hungry eyes, eager to secure further food supply and link up with the DCU to the East, allowing for unrestricted land trade between the two socialist powers. Despite this, the Congress had much work to do. They Adhered to Libertarian Socialism, as it was popular with the civilian as it provided a desired Democratic Element within Germany as well as allotting more power to the worker within the Industrial and Military Workplace, allowing for elections of Heads of Unions and Officers alike, while maintaining the Revolutionary Ideals of a Government manned by the Worker and Peasant with an Economy controlled by such. Fighting Calmed Down across Germany for the most part, and throughout the year Gunshots would be replaced with the sounds of Hammers hitting Nails, Construction, Manufacturing, and Repair ever more as the Congress headed the way for a Rebuilding of Germany and soon its propulsion back onto the world stage. Private Companies would be liquidated and reconsolidated under Congress Supervision and Government Control, Industries would be put under new management under the watchful eye of the DUS. Fortunately for Germany, much of the Great War was far from home, as industries were largely left untouched from the Great War, and major industrial centers were left unscathed as these were the sites of the strongest support for the Revolution. Reconstruction mainly took place as restoration of Agriculture, Civilian Structures, and Infrastructure left damaged by the Counterrevolutionaries. The Sun would Set on this year for Germany as a bright one, as the Populace would find themselves in a better place then they could of hoped for, with hard work they would of rebuilt most of Pre-War life, and under the Congress no voice was left unheard by the Government as a whole. As a part of the reforms, Women were allowed to work in Industry to help aid the acceleration of economic growth and to further expand civil liberties of all groups, as the Congress strove to achieve the dreams of the Revolution.

1920

Germany stands on the precipice of being reborn. The Society of the German State has been shifted drastically, Imperial Rule has been vanquished from it's borders and in it's place a Freer, more Equal State has taken it's place. Reconstruction continues, as expected due to the extensive damages caused by the Revolution and agitation by Loyalist Remnants, but the economy is being revitalized and quality of life is swiftly returning to Pre-War levels. Agriculture is further growing in the hopes that much of the previous import requirements can be met by domestic production, and if not, the Friendly Giant of the East shall be who Germany should look to for trade. The Reactionaries have been drawn out to isolated pockets of resistance, as it is predicted by the start of Spring they shall either be crushed under the might of the Revolutionary Army or they shall surrender due to lack of supplies, as Switzerland was pressured to cease allowance of supplies to the Loyalists when they were discovered in a camp of the Reactionaries. Those who are captured are hung for their treasonous activity against the Congress, though these are only publicized through the press. Further reforms are made, as the Press has been allowed to voice the opinions of the people, alike to Western Democracies, and Agriculture has been put under a mixed civilian-government ownership. Progress made by the DUS is nonetheless extensive, as Germany will surpass Pre-War levels within the next two years. To the East, as previously mentioned, the Dzugar Collective Union has risen as another Socialist Power, one that encompasses a majority of Northern Asia. Rich in resources and Ideologically Compatible, it has been decided by the leadership of both nations to host a Third Congress of the Socialist Unions within the DCU City of Yuchkagrad, where cooperative measures and various plans are being discussed between representatives of both Socialist Powers. Representative Helmuth Bettendorf would be sent to the location of such and present the DUS plans to Dzugar Officials, once all of the formalities and ceremonies were out of the way.

"...It is a prime interest of the Union State to cooperate with your nation and to establish proper trade. I offer to you an exchange of industrial and infrastructural knowledge and technology for the trade of various natural resources, such as Oil and Food products, as our resources are not as vast as your nations. Our Nations, our Unions are two states whose existence is threatened by the presence of Fascist Italy and the Surrounding Capitalists, so it would be highly beneficial and ideal for our nations to join together in a mutual alliance and friendship with one another. Though there is one thing preventing a deal such as this reaching its peak effectiveness, and that is the independent states of Eastern Europe. Between our Unions are these reactionary nations, countries which can be influenced to the side of Italy or the Capitalists, and while the Fascists and Capitalists are distracted with their own problems we should strike and divide Eastern Europe amongst ourselves. This will not only be beneficial for your nation, as you would acquire the industries and populations of the major urban centers in these states, but as well as the resources and space that comes with them. For us as well, this is a method of securing our food supply further. Instead of potentially dangerous naval shipping lanes, we can use land routes for harder to disrupt trade routes, and if need be, military transports. There is a map I have been provided by the Congress to show to you, and not shown on it is the potential condominium of Riga, which can serve as a vital naval base for both our nations, militarily and economically. If you agree, of course."

The Dzugar Collective Union

The great war was not welcomed in the hearts and minds of the people for a variety of reasons. Firstly, The Russian poplance did not have any connection with Serbs other than that what was forced upon them by the now deceased Tsar. The obligations of the aristocracy superceded the needs of the people and drug them into war footing with nations all across Europe. Even so as it progressed, the crippling death toll shouldered by the Russian people seeped into the hearts and souls of those truly being affected, those whose fathers and brothers were thrown into the Jaws of death for the sake of aiding and abbeting the power games and pride of foreign nations. The Socialist movement grew not by the month but by the day through the war, and by 1917 began to follow in the blazing trail of revolution that seared across Europe.

The Russian people were not alone in this endeavor. The ottoman empire and its lack of foresight to innovate and change with the times, its poor posture and debilitating military state also sapped the fighting soul of its own people. 2 nations lead by rotten leaderships threw blows against one another while the very people they subjugated grew weary of their antics. The ottomans received news of a mutiny that took the mighty Russia and rejoiced! Completely unaware that this very news incited and reinforced the desires of its own people. It did nothing to raise the morale of the Sultans effort to remain relevant in the world, instead it fanned the flames of both his people and footsoldiers who tired of the manipulation and in consideration undertaken by generals and aristocrats. The Socialist overtaking of Tsarist Russia meant the establishment of the Dzugar Socialist government which for a moment gave hope to the Ottoman sultans until the allied efforts bullied their way to seizing much of the middle eastern territory. Mehmed failed to deliver his promises and his generals too grew tired of the pipe dream being sold and didn't wish to wait for the allies to piece the land up and steal her bounty. Instead both turks and Persian generals opt to revolt, and assassinate the Monarchy and absolve themselves of the war crimes.

This too would be a pipe dream, for the countless people who were put the the gun at the order of the fallen ottoman empire were not content with any man or body that participated in the malicious efforts of genocide. An eye for both eyes, the Kaemenid flood of ottomans turned Socialist found not only support but sympathy from the socialists, in 1918 the Kaemenid Socialist party joined the Dzugar in regicide... Cementing their bond only to encase it in a coat of steel at the second congress of Socialist Unions.

The reorganisation and redistribution of Russian land, a friendly Kaemenid, and overall Eurasian land gave way for almost unprecedented levels of migration throughout the Union. The Dzugar establishing the Cheka security force that actively sought out enemies of the revolution worked in tandem with its Kaemenid counterparts. As the years went by, the Kaemenid would see themselves more heavily integrated and Intertwined with the Dzugar, the perspective lens blurring further and further as policy and heavy handed approaches to "enemies of the revolution" brought the 2 parties closer to unity.

These politics didn't sit well within Russia however, nor did it sit well in Lenins inner circle. As pupils fought for favor of the people and the mantle of that would be bestowed at the great leaders passing. The Reds, the Dzugar, and The Kaemenid gathered time and time again for meetings of the Union so that the revolution would continue further, however pulling punches and underhanded tactics to undermine political rivals had grown to critical levels. Individuals within the party were rallying military favor and consolidating power only to be removed, ousted, or "pass away by unforeseen circumstance". Whether it be by accusations of the Cheka, the people, or by the party.

In that time, the current Premier, Armanh Kurban Kolyuchka, carved out his position in the party. A Uyghur born in Almaty, raised and educated in the city of Moscow. He is backed by both the Kaemenid and Dzugar, opposed only by the hardliners of the Krasnyys. History would fall into his hands in Russia after the passing of Lenin.

Armanh "Kolyuchka" Koba
General Secretary of the DCU Socialist Union

The 3 Congress of Socialist Unions

As the hosts of the Socialist summit, the floor was given to their Western counterparts. The convening and introductions concluded meant that important discussion and litigation was to be held, as the German socialists had essentially vanguarded the revolution and ensured its conception via the toppling of their German regime, it allowed the Dzugar to steal the reins of power from their own monarchy and give the Kaemenid confidence and moral that same could be achieved in their own lands. Respect was to be given and they were to be heard by all socialists in attendance.

As the German congressman spoke, Koba listened intently. It was just formality that the terms be spoken outright regarding trade, as it went without saying that trade and cooperation would be heavily undertaken between the two Socialist states. If they were not spoken, there would be no public record and the terms would forever remain behind closed doors... Transparency was a key trait that Koba wished to maintain to the public eye and guarantee that all socialists within the Union be very aware who were allies and who were not.

In his seat however, one of his entourage would slide a document over. One of confidentiality that contained the directives to be received by the Kaemenid of Iran. Although Koba was present for neither of the assassinations of either Russian or Persian Monarchy, he had signed them both off with unwavering support of the communist revolt. There was to be no public record of the number of destroyed mosques or churches, nor any of the other cultural atrocities being committed save for this document alone. After reading the header momentarily, Koba reverted his gaze to the German speaker. As not to be seen without giving undivided attention.

Even seated, his posture remained solid and stiff. His palms resting on his knees and never for a moment did his elbows rest on the desk. His grey DCU Uniform creased and crisp with only a single medal indicating his station as the general secretary. There were many documents to pilfered through but now was not that time.

Koba agreed with the German congressman. Solidifying and formally integrating the Unions via alliance and friendship was beneficial to both parties. Not only did the German state provide means for the DCU to trade and supplement the economy, but the DCU infrastructure was found wanting and lacking adequacy. The workers had seized the means of production and now needed to be reinforced by skilled specialists to bring fruits from their labor. The topic of Eastern Europe delighted Koba even further to know that the DUS was entirely on the same page as the DCU.

As the German compatriots concluded their speaking, there was a light clap in respect to the speaker from all in attendance that echoed in the closed doors of the hall.

"Comrades, I believe it goes without saying that the DCU is enlightened in regards to your considerations of both Socialist states. A mutual respect and consideration that would be best returned at each and eveyy available opportunity." Koba's voice ripe with Russian accentuation and a calm but deep tone that reflected his ice cold spirit. His nickname was Kolyuchka, "The Thorn", but it served no purpose here among fellow socialists because his demeanor and tone held no hostility despite its natural effect.

As he continued "The reactionaries you speak of are indeed nothing but obstacles to the tide of change being ushered in by our great states. The DCU shares your sentiments regarding the hindrance they pose and is entirely committed to removing their blemish from the magnificent Union we strive to create, together. ". Koba's affirmative reference of the DCU and speaking on its behalf reflected his authority. He spoke as if he was the DCU, and in truth anyone within the party already believed that he was the embodiment of the party.

"The DCU unwaveringly supports this cause. We strike as one. We share the spoils as allies. As comrades. Let us formalise the necessary documents for our trade agreements and immediately begin convening our armed forces to progressing the Socialist cause. Let us tap into the existing socialists present in Eastern Europe to continue the revolution! We must spread the tide of change... The DCU is in agreeance to your petitions here at the summit. "

As the members in attendance lightly clapped similarly as they had for the German congressman, Koba had nodded in respect to the members and sat seated. Koba looked across to the Premier of the Kaemenid party and nodded his head. He was to to request an audience behind closed doors with their German counterpart to discuss the growing disconcern of China's integrity and the encroachment of the Japanese on siberia. Fascists In The Court Of Frederick The Great

The snowy mountaintops of the alps act as the natural barrier between the two new extremes of the modern world. The German State, in arms with her Italian Sister, had also fallen to radicalism. The radicalism of the German people however rejected nationalism and held all men to be similar however likewise similarities would arise between the two. Italian Fascism would reject the doctrine of Gods and Kings much in the same way that the socialists of Germany call for the destruction of Monarchies as a reactionary facet of capitalistic society. The Germans would likewise revolt against the unfit in defiance of unjust ideological wars within the Europe that served no greater good than to line the pockets of noblemen. The great alpine region would be the scene as a 29 year old man with coal black hair and a uniquely Italian mustache would be suddenly awoken from a deep slumber. The man would quickly look up to see the train that he and his four colleagues had been traveling on had come to a rather sudden stop. The door to the cab would slowly swing open as four men in long trench coats entered the cab. The men were easily identifiable as Germans and the steely looks in their eyes allowed for even the deaf to understand their mission on the train. The men would begin to question everyone in the cab, speaking fluent Italian, about where they are coming from and way they are entering into Germany. The men would further demand identification from everyone in the cab and as such the 29 year old Italian man would present his identification as well as a signed document from Francesco Guinta. The document read as following....

"Dear Friend, Orso Moffa

I have decided to entrust in you and your allies a mission that may prove important for the stability of Europe and the survival of our great nation. I am ordering you, and whomever you decide to be advantageous, to enter the German territory via train out of Rome. This line is likely to be heavily guarded by German troops and as such it is likely you will be stopped. The blessing of German Troops to enter the nation will be necessary for this mission to succeed so show them this letter in order to authenticate your goals in Germany. You are to proceed into Berlin via the same rail where you will request a hearing with the German government. Your mission from here is to broker peace and understanding with the German Government. A necessary part of this is the continued independence of Hungary/Romania as buffer states. This deal must extend to the Russian peoples as we are trying to broker peace in all of Europe. I wish you luck in your mission and I hope you return to Italy safely.

Sincerely, Francesco Guinta."

The German soldiers read the letter whilst looking the man over and nod in understanding of its diplomatic importance. One soldier bluntly replies to Moffa with "Welcome to Germany, Ambassador.". The German troops proceed to escort multiple other people off the train as Moffa relaxes back into his seat. The train slowly begins to gain speed with the sound of cavalry unit rushing into battle. Moffa once more closes his eyes and drifts back into his slumber for he would awake within the court of Frederick The Great.

The North African Campaigns

*Italian Troops entrenched outside the Tunisian City of Tataouine

The Italo-Ottoman Wars of the early 1900s were not relegated to the continent of Europe as fighting likewise took place within Libya. In the year 1911, Italian Troops would fight in the battle of Tripoli which resulted in a decisive Italian victory. This victory spurred the complete conquest of the Libyan coast from the Ottoman Empire. Nine years later, northern Libya would remain under the control of Italian Troops thanks to high levels of fascist support within the colonial military. The Fascist Government of Italy had made a showing that wished to bring an end to pointless ideological wars however it also doubled down of the right of European powers to divide the African Continent as they saw fit. Just months after the revolution, Italian troops would be positioned on the border of the Islamic state of Tunisia. Likewise, the Italian Navy would begin large scale naval exercises close to the the Tunisian coast which resulted in the general mobilization of the Tunisian military. Italian troops would push into southern Tunisia during nightfall under the cover of massive artillery campaigns against border towns and military outposts. Clashes between the Italian Army and Tunisian army would be relegated to small engagements in the open and sieges of various Tunisian villages. After nearly 2 days of fighting, the Italian advance had slowed down to the city of Tataouine which had been bolstered with supplies and men from Tunis and Gabes. Italian rifle companies would build large entrenchments around the city taking shots at anyone who showed themselves. Likewise, artillery fire would be volleyed into the city in an effort to kill soldiers and civilians indiscriminately. The city fell nearly a week after the beginning of the siege with many of the surviving military personnel being executed upon capture. The siege however afforded time for Tunisia to bolster itself further in the city of Gabes. During this time, the Italian Navy had begun naval bombardments of major coastal cities such as Tunis and Sfax. Thanks to the naval blockade and dwindling supplies among Tunisian fighters resulted in the fall of Gabes about two weeks into fighting. Growing weary of a war that was expected to last no more than a week, the Italian Military decides to launch an amphibious assault upon the capital city of Tunis. This assault would be done in near darkness and would begin with nearly a full hour of naval bombardment into the city. Under the cover of continued bombardment, nearly 50,000 Italian Soldiers would land upon the beaches of Tunis and begin to swiftly push inwards on the city. Tunisian defensive positions included extremely liberal use of machine guns which mowed into thousands of Italian Soldiers as they rushed ashore. After nearly 8,000 Italian deaths, the Italian troops were able to secure the beach as well as take down many of the more troublesome machine gun positions that were stationed along the beach. Troops would then advance deep into Tunis where the fighting would be done street by street as militant citizens and military personnel were sweeped out of the area. The city would fall upon noon the next day despite continuous guerrilla campaigns. Italian troops would flood Tunis and begin to push south in order to sandwich troops in Sfax which in turn quickly fell thus giving Italy defacto control over the entire region after three weeks of intense fighting.

While the Nation was mostly safe from large scale invasion, the nation's Outer most farms and sections did face repetitive attacks from the local tribal, bandits, and in some cases, the well armed and experienced troops from foreign powers. These last group, either native colonial troops or actual troops, whether they were deployed there or left behind at the war's end, they posed a threat to the rather ill trained and equipped Civilians.

Since the mother country was busy sorting her own affairs out (as well as paying more attention to the less routy colonies in Africa.) The provisional Government (at this point politely ignoring the Togarian Officials) set about setting up a an arms procurement plan. Setting out far and wide, officials were sent out to procure the now excess of arms created by the end of the last great war. Officials were sent to Italy, Germany, China and even Old Russia.

The 30,000 man returning home from serving abroad were broken up in to 150 man Companies to be deployed across the nation, with the men building encampments and outposts along the boarder, and 2-3 companies being used to reinforce the vital cross roads, train stations, and supply depots.

How ever, even with this reinforcement, the need to arm and train the local farmers along the boarder regions. As such, the "Civilian Guard" was put in to existence, with the program to arm and train farmers and similar far flung civilians. Newer weapons such as the SMLEs, Vickers/Lewis/Maxim Guns were all kept in reserve for the regular standing army. Older guns, second Hand Martini rifles, Mauser rifles, and older weapons that mostly predated the great war were issued and distributed along side older pistols and shotguns.

The men sent abroad to purchase weapons were told to look for surplus, "Pack" Howitzers and similar small and portable artillery guns.

The most notable purchases (indeed Requisitions made during the war) and consisted of...

Image
The Rolls Royce armored Car.

40 of them, all with open topped turrets and armed with .303 Caliber Vickers guns, with 15 armed with the "Vicker-Crayford" gun to give some fast fire support to infantry.

Image
The Sopwith Camel Biplane

Famous for it duels with German pilots over the western front, the small little biplane made a name for it self as one of the best. With a pair of fixed, forward firing guns and a durable frame, it was fully suitable for the hard environment. the Sate Operates 20 of them, with another 5 kept grounded for spare parts.

Image
The M1917 Tank

The American Variant of the French Made FT-17 tank, 10 of them were purchased at the tale end of the war, using Funds provided by the Government. 8 were fitted with the 37mm Gun, with 2, being used for policing actions, armed with Vickers guns.

This would give the Colonial Armed Forces a good, all round base of Equipment needed to defend it self.

An heir to the throne...

With the death of Queen Victoria, and the ensuing man hunt for the remaining royals, those that fled went in to hiding.

How ever, unknown to most, the line of the house of Windsor goes on in to the modern Day. In the capital of Salisbury there lives that last heir to the late Queen Victoria. Salisbury is home to the "Hoffmen Boarding school for Girls", a well known and respected Boarding school for young women ages 12-16.

Among them, sat a girl...a simple girl, with a secret almost too large to bare...

Holley Samantha Kalley, by some web of connected blood lines, the last true heir to the Throne of House Windsor.

In the Territorial Waters of the Shogun...

The HMS Kassandra was a former cargo ship owned by the Royal Navy and built by America during the war. She was slow, at just 20 knots, but built as an armed Merchantmen, with a lightly armored hull (this being simple reinforcements and a double hull) and a mounting for a pair of heavy guns as well as multiple machine guns. This was until said war ended, were the ship was bought by the Rhodesian Government to use as an official trading ship.

She kept her reinforcements, how ever her Standard British armaments were removed. Instead, a Privately bought pair of French 75mm Guns were mounted were the old 102mm ones were, and with a pair of 37mm Pom Pom Guns as well as a spattering of Vickers guns. While sailing as an Armed Merchenman, she flew the English Colonial naval ensign. While she did sail with actual cargo, being used to ferry both Government and Private Cargo, she did, in times of need, act as a personal transport.

As the sun began to set and alight the waters of the pacific with her golden Hue, the multiple cranes and cargo lifts peaked over the horizon, coming in to sight of the harbor master at Okinawa proper. They had gotten permission to land there during their last trip, promising to bring with them lucrative goods and items, as well as a small group of people.

As the Ship glided in to harbor at 3 knots and was tied off by harbor hands, the boarding ramp was lowered and the captain and his first mate stepped off to fill out their logs and cargo manifests. Behind them, the came a squad of four armed Rhodesian Infantrymen, Uniforms pressed and clean (more so then standard) SMLE's slung and their posture set to relaxed, yet alert of their surroundings. after them, came the Sir Ian Malcom, an older man and elder Statesmen. He was the aid to acting Governor Straten (the actual leader of Rhodesia). Fallowing him, was the young hair to the House Windsor. (for technicalities sake, she would be the heir to both the English Throne and the House of Hanover, but House Windsor sounds better.)

They would make their way, flanked by the Riflemen, to the resident Port Authority house per their agreement.

Awaiting their arrival was a platoon of Akarou soldiers, intent on escorting them to their destination. Their visit was no secret to the upper echelons of the Akarō Clan, but it was not general knowledge, and the port had been cleared out of onlookers just to make certain it stayed that way. The Akarō regime disliked its hand being revealed too easily, and surrounded on all sides by enemies as it found itself, it could not be too cautious.

Thus, the soldiers brought them to the citadel of Okinawa, the fortified capital building of the island and to speak with the lord of the island. He was one of the few who were trusted with knowledge of this visit at this time, and even fewer who could authorize any action that needed to come of it. He was, of course, Akarō Takahiro, the brother of the Shogun, and the next in line for the throne after all of the Shogun's sons had died.

Blotting Out Of The Algerian Sun

Image
*The Andrea Doria Near The Algerian Coast

Africa... A Continent doomed from its creation to the destructive vices of war and greed. The 1800s would see the continent gobbled by the nobles of the old guard only for it to be thrown back into darkness like a new born baby developing the Spanish Flu. The Togerians, somehow, managed to retain control of there territories in Africa upon the ending of The Second European War however the collapse of the French Republic resulted in the combustion of the African fuse that left large areas of land independent and ripe for the taking. The Tunisia campaign, which had happened only weeks ago, would see the swift suppression of the Tunisia people under the iron heels of Italian Fascism and next on the hitlist would be the former French colony of Northern Algeria. The difference in the colonial ambitions of the noble and the Fascist is the Fascist took land only to ensure the survival of his own people or so it was argued by Francesco Guinta. The conquest of North Africa was to ensure further control over the mid Mediteranian in hopes of being able to repel Naval invasions into the heart of Italian Fascism. Truthfully, Guinta felt that the taking of Northern Algeria would ensure a large buffer zone between the Togerian republic and the empire just as it was hoped that Hungary and Romania would serve as a buffer zone between the empire and the communist forces of Eurasia. This line of reasoning was popular with the public as the wars served a rational means and as such famalies would eagerly send their young men into the colonial armies as the Tunisian campaign got underway with many fresh troops arriving for the invasion of Northern Algeria.

Italian armor and infantry would begin pushing into the Algeria through the use of motorized trucks and extensive supply lines. Artillery positions would be set up within the territory outside of major cities such as Biskra and Setif. These artillery positions would begin to rapidly shell these towns as infantry and armor would entrench themselves around the artillery in a similiar fashion as was done previously in Tunisia. The hope was that the garrisoned armies or militias would be driven either out to fight the entrenched Italian soldiers or would be pushed out of the city enabiling a swift takeover of the city with minor Italian casalties. The citites of Biskra and Setif fell quick to this plan along with the use of ariel bombing from Fiat produced aircraft(Caproni Ca.5) using the AS2 engine capable of nearly 160 km/h. Italian Stormtroopers armed with Beretta Model 1918 SMGs would also be used to storm various government buildings and military assets whilst under siege from artillery. After the fall of Biskra and Setif, Italian troops would advance towards the coastal regions which would be under heavy bombardment from Conte di Cavour-class and Andrea Doria-class Battleships (both of which had been updated extensivley over the past two years). This movement enable for Italian forces to cut the coastline in two as troops moved towards the city of Algiers. Interested in a quick victory for Italian troops, Francesco Guinta ordered the use of stockpiled mustard gas on the city of Algiers. For nearly a full day, Italian artillery would fire mustard gas shells into the city that resulted in horrific and disabling wounds or even death to all of those that came into contact with it. At the end of the first day of shelling, Italian stormtrooperts would breach the city with gas masks and protective uniforms. The soldiers would execute those affected by the gas on sight whilst clearing out the city street by street. Algiers fell in less than two days, thus providing proof of the effectivness and brutality of chemical weapons developed during the second european war. The collapse of Algiers brought the swift conquest of the rest of northern Algieria as Italian troops approached Togerian Morrocco. The troops respected the national borders of the Togerians and did not fire a single shot into the new colonial neighbours of the empire. After a campaign spanning nearly two months, the majority of the north African Coastline had fallen to the grips of italian Fascism.

The country was strange, a combination of different sights and smells vary much so foreign compared to that back home in Salisbury. Halley drank it all in from underneath her simple Sunday dress and Wide brim hat. The Good sir was dressed in his Dress uniform. Despite that, the soldiers would eye their Japanese Counter parts, this mission was secretive at best, and to say they lacked trust for their Counterparts that served the Shogun wouldn't be untrue.

The Togerian Republic

Image

The Great War:
Though the war had ended recently and still the wounds too fresh to fully assess the given impact, the feelings of joy and euphoria that filled the Togerian people as the first news of Republic's declaration of war against the German Empire in 1914. Still daymares plague the survivors of those unfortunate trenches; the combination of vile gas, the MGs, and flamethrowers. It was a miscalculation a declaration made out of false speculation. First tens of thousands and than hundreds of thousands, volunteers and than conscripts were selected and trained to serve in the Republican war machine and one by one each broke sweat, spilled blood, and God unwilling made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

The years stuck within Belgium had drained the Republic of over a million souls, drained it of the energy that could of been used to better sort her affairs. It was her faith in the European balance of power's ability to correct itself, her faith in her ability to end any conflict before it escalated.

Only the Lord would know the extent of the humiliation she would suffer for years to come, the manpower and resources taken from her colonies to support her endeavor couldn't be ignored. Several tens of thousands had given their lives and several hundreds of thousands pressed for labor. It was a contribution the Republic couldn't ignore millions of soldiers now stood employed and awaiting compensation and the state the Great Mother of this great empire of diverse peoples would be forced to make a choice. In 1918 as the war entered it's forth year of conflict and hope had been lost in Russian assistance, us Togerians would be forced to make a choice of rather it would partake to scramble its last bits of energy to help aid in a push to hopefully bring an end to the war...or exercise restraint and hold back its forces, put pressure on the enemy to find peace and preserve its strength to defend its empire? The choice that day as today was always simple and one no Togerian would deny, Republic.

Two Years Later:
The decision to preserve the Republic would have immediate and harsh ramifications. Though through the war the use of more mechanized machinery such as the tank, aerocraft, carriers, and most destructively to us Togerians and the biggest factor for seeking armistice, U-boats. Indeed their has been little time to sit down and reflect on these lessons, instead the knowledge learned from these experiences are to be archived for later review their most important snip-bits being analyzed and their theories tested.

In a way the war never fully ended, as when Armistice was sought us Togerians now faced two major threats: The French feelings betrayal brought with it a real possibility of reaction against this perceived site. Further the war had caused a melt down of control within the Middle East resulting in the loss of Togerian Egypt and Sinai, this alone lead into their 2nd and most pressing concern. The view of Togerian strength across the greater empire.

Colonies such as India and South Africa already have histories of open rebellion and Australia and New Zealand were so distant any long pause in communication could be misinterpreted as independence. Indeed the prior years focusing on European endeavors, trying to upkeep the balance, and ultimately feeding into the continental cycle of violence and bloodshed and wounded the empire and now she was forced to hold her own wound, to think quickly before she bled out. With Egypt gone and control of her trade routes important the Togerian Republic forced from its position would have to begin a policy of consolidation almost immediately.

The previous Prime Minister would voted out of office and in stead would James Bushman:
Image
Age (47)
Half Englishman and Half Colonial (Cape Province), his father an early investor in the De Beers Diamond Co. and his mother an English Noblewoman from Ulster. He thought himself blessed to live in such a privileged position but yet to still be conscious of his colonial roots. His father had taken on multiple business ventures since his age of 17 to work in colony and through it he saw life for both colored and non-colored colonial in the diamond mines. The scorching heat of the African sun as it poured on the miners a life of labor so very close to entering the domains of bondage.

He could not understand it, these men were good workers, loyal men who fed the Republic its riches and yet they were viewed as lower. Despite work with his father in De Beers, James would assist in missionary work and policing, working to ensure order and fairness were present in mines under his supervision. This would eventually lead to a recommendation for his to join the Togerian South African Force, working to position of Lieutenant-Colonel of the Cape Province 2nd Battalion.

Military service would however to James be an obligation both to his fatherland in South Africa and Motherland in Togeria but a way to legitimize his entry into the political atmosphere of the nation. Though an Army man and many of the elite prided themselves on their Naval service he would find himself welcomed especially as they found himself to be of high position within De Beers. Seizing the opportunity this attention provided he began to advocate first in small discussions a separation of Togerian and French affairs and greater transparency and openness to the colonies of the greatest importance he sought to in his words "Create a system in which white men across the seas may live in safety, security, and prosperity under the banner of greater Anglo civilization and to which those of none British blood but birthed from the soil which we hold sovereignty may reap the fruits of civilization and compassion." Further going to elaborate,"It is a belief of one our most prestigious Rudyard Kipling that the work we do to better this word is levied onto us like some burden as though we are worked like asses to pull a pharaoh's tomb across the desert sand. Nay, I say no burden but a gift, yes, a gift a bi-product from the culmination in century's long work and debate over the direction of progress.

Not not choice, obligation. We must while our strength is in mass and ever growing, harness it bring forth ourselves as bridge to connect the two conflicting worlds of the Native and Animal with that of Civil belief and manner."

With this stance his support would slowly grow culminating in his push for Prime Minister in 1910, unsuccessful however he would see himself undeterred. The events of the The Great War however took the entire Republic by surprise. The speed of escalation and as the following year would show the speed of which human life was being lost would require the full energy of all parties involved to divert attention towards the war. Gridlock would only ensue despite their best efforts, and much to his dismay his colleagues many men who like him had a history of service but unable to deal with the losses gave into base desires to argue and debate.

The Army had felt too small and too spread, the U-boats precious ships to be diverted or pulled to assist the Isles where they could be better served elsewhere. Though the armistice had protected her honor, the Togerian military had been made too look batty, uncoordinated, and dependent on its greatest asset. This had to be changed, and the nobles many of the Togerian party lacked the will to take serious political action following increasing reports of battlefield casualties. Entire towns and cities protested the war with increasing numbers and finally after the pressure following several strikes in coal factories, James as a member of the party and representative of the Colonial affairs would be one of the most prominent voices in urging for the Republic to seek armistice.

After it's conclusion a vote would be held in Parliament over the fate of the former Prime Minister following the vote, and after a vote of 84% in favor he would voted out. James now with four others would be stand for election, and after a vote again by Parliament he would be elected with 82% in favor. His first act would be the pulling of British troops from Belgium along with German troops in accordance to the armistice. Further and most controversially and due to the position of the Republic following the loss of Egypt a month after troops were announced to be pulled from Belgium, two naval squadrons along with the HMS Argus to seize position in French Morocco beginning the Morocco Affair as well as concessions would be made for the acquisition of Somalia.

In this way Bushman had an Asian route for the vital trade lines of the Togerian Eastern Realm, and two years after his gamble Morocco would be claimed and with it a western route would be reopened.

They were led through empty streets, one by one, until they arrived at the capital building. The path there felt hollow, dead, and while the sounds of bustling city could be heard in the distance, no such life could be seen. It was quite the exception, with the direct path to the capital having been blocked off from view. Rather conspicuous, one might say, but frankly, the Akarō officials didn't really care as long as the actual meat of the matter was concealed. For their part, the guards escorting them didn't exactly trust their foreign guests either; Japanese society had been largely quarantined from foreign influence outside the colonial territories, and so outsiders were mistrusted by most.

The capital building was a strange thing. It had been built soon after the Rykyu Kingdom's sovereignty was revoked, and set up as a Forward Operating Base by Akarō troops. Originally meant to be just a temporary stopgap, it had been built up over the years with extensions, fortifications, and all manner of decoration without much long-term thought put into it. One thing let to another, and now it sat as a large, sprawling complex, part government office, part military fortress.

The guests were shown through winding halls, turn after turn, until arriving at the "reception room", as it had been called. It was a finely decorated place, with tapestries, banners, and old weapons hanging on the walls. It had three doorways visible from the entrance, not counting the one the newcomers had passed through. A single door to the far back-end, and two sets of double-doors on either side. It was not a large space, nor a small one, and it was guarded at every main entrance by a pair of honour guards, wearing armour that would've fit in snugly centuries ago, yet wielding modern Type 38 rifles and standing at attention. Awaiting there was a man sat at the center of the room, behind a desk that had several seats before it.

It was clear to even the most ignorant observer that he was a man of wealth and status. He was dressed in the more Western-styled officer uniform of the Akarō military forces, an uncommon trait for of the top brass of the clan when not in field conditions or active deployment, but wore the two swords of the samurai class at his left side and a holstered pistol at his right. He was perhaps in his late 30's or early 40's, a rather old age for those who carried the demon's curse within their blood. His hair was short, his face bearded, and his hair had already started to go white. Abnormally, his veins were unusually prominent and visible through his skin, and he did not appear to be in good health.

Despite that, he did not appear to be of foul temperament, nor did he seem too caught up in the formalities and customs of such a meeting that traditions would require. Getting rather straight to the point, he greeted the guests, in English, once they had arrived.

Sitting down, he continued.

"Well, your Highness as I am sure your aware of, the Colony of Rhodesia has existed as such, a Colony of the Briti-Er, Togarain Dominion for some time. We wish to change that. How ever, before I go on, I would like to introduce my Companion here."

He looked to Halley and went to speak, but she cut him off. "I..." She choked, she knew who the Japanese man in front of her was, and what she was there for...but the Nervousness in her stomach was nearly unbearable. She cleared her throat and spoke. "I am Holley Samantha Kalley, My mother Victoria, was the daughter of the late Princess Alix, her self one of the surviving heirs of Queen Victoria. My parents fled England when I was a infant, with my father, who I personally never knew, having been caught and hung by the Authorities in Briton."

She paused, her voice cracking a small bit. "We fled originally to America, but the US government wouldn't help us in any real way, save a sympathetic Irish FBI agent who bought us a pair of tickets to Rhodesia. We hid there for a time before my mother died, and I was taken in by the Girl's School there." She stopped and took a breath. Iran, Kaemenid Persia

The almost bloodless coupe that took place in Tehran was directly supported by the DCU. An army general by the name Reza Khan, commander of the cossock brigade had seen the Socialist cause through a somewhat opaque lens but was entirely willing to garner support for them for his own selfish means. The civil wars that were plaguing the country after the great war served to highlight the Qajar dynasties inefficiency and incompetence for governing the nation. The conditions of corruption served the Socialists and Koba ensured that the Kaemenid socialists of Iran were educated and in play while at the very same time petitioned the Dzugar support of the cossack regime, to further distant the sphere of capitalist influence that was gripping the Persians.

As the Kaemenid rallied public support of the people and tribes to back the Cossack regime, an almost expected turn came from the militant overthrower. Shying away from the democratic promises he had initially gave away freely to the people, Rezha Khan proclaimed himself minister of War and head of state. A manifest given to the Kaemenid emphasised the likelihood of this occurring and had set about safety measures for the Kaemenid to undertake in its event. Tapped in heavily with the sentiments of the common people, the tribes, and immense body count of police and magistrates of the previous regime, the Kaemenid successfully entrenched themselves as the safe guards and guiding hand of "justice" to the people. At every juncture and possible opportunity, they exclaimed Socialist values that provided insights and interpersonal ability to justify "right being right" for the people through the very same ideological lense they believed in.

A following grew and the Kaemenid began to swell, their opposition only being those entrenched in pious religion. Their numbers overshadowed all others and placed a dubious amount of pressure on Rheza Khan's bid for power. The Cossack regime finding itself against the will of the people and their desperate desire to fix the balance of power would be forced out almost as quickly as they had attempted to rest the laurels upon their heads. Koba had the slightest hand at engineering his second coup of a royal family, and assisted in the removal of the very same individuals he assisted in this endeavor.

Ahmad Sabri, Kaemenid premier, arrested and imprisoned Rheza Khan at the peoples behest 1919. The cossack regime was assailed at its government headquarters, the Palace of the Qajar monarchy, and effectively took back control from Khan. The Persian revolution surged and lit a fire within the hearts of the people, peasant, tribesmen, and commoner alike stood side by side and dismantled the corrupt system and now paved the way for the Persian proletariat.

Sabri's initial plan of action involved denouncing the previous dynasty's suckling of capitalist powers and that of England and began the reforms to transform Iran industrially.

Yuchkagrad

After their closed door discussion with the German congressman, Both Koba and Sabri made for Moscow. Undertaking discussions of their own regarding the changes that both countries would be undertaking.

"Yes, I believe it entirely necessary to ensure that the Cheka establish a Persian branch or at the very least establish a zone of operations within Persian clay to safeguard or assets and means of production." Sabri stated calmly. His lazy brown eyes hid a fiery energy as he adjusted his uniform cap and slightly pulled his shirt as to straighten its length from wrinkling his attire.

" I recommend establishing contact and coordinating with the youthful elements of the Kaemenid party, perhaps networking with promising members and seeing that they are... Enlightened to a standard of the Cheka. It makes no sense to stress our comrades in the DCU throughout the union when there is limitless human resources available. " He ended with a slightly raised hand.

Koba stood with his arms behind his back, contemplating the nature of a second revolutionary security body and the ramifications it could hold should it find a mind of its own. Koba began to slowly pace, his gaze seeming to be fixed on the large window that looked out upon Yuchkagrad's City scape. The cities revolution had been appeased and the workers long been at work in its repair. The administrative bodies installed with loyal members to Koba's allegiance, their competence proving favourable to the haste in which Yuchkagrad benefited greatly... The key characteristic of the cities successful repair was shouldered by one irredeemable factor. Loyalty to Koba.

The brief silence that followed Sabri's statement was finally broken as Koba spoke out. "I agree, Sabri... Our Kaemenid Comrades and brothers should be brought up to par with a Cheka body of their own." Koba had then turned around to look to Sabri, perhaps to ascertain any discomfort with the following proposition.

"I will send for Petar Ollosuvonavic, he will oversee the progress of a Kaemenid Cheka and appoint those who appear to be capable of safeguarding the demands of the revolutionary peoples..." For this however, Sabri was content. His facial expression gave a slight upward glance and bent lip as he nodded in approval.

"given our conversation with our German comrades, I trust that the fringes of the Persian territories will be handled appropriately?" Koba asked inquisitively.

"That they will, Koba. The imprisonment of the Cossack brigades command followed by their execution produced amicable results with both the civilians and tribes. We've disarmed those who voiced their discontent and have employed them in the mines. The others who wished to maintain their posts are now training civilian and tribal alike for a proper force. Our reliance on non Socialist support will be eradicated properly- however I feel our industrial plans are shortening the efficiency of our agricultural industries. Especially with the needs of the DCU. " Sabri immediately questioned the necessity of speaking upon the needs of mother Russia but reassured himself it was warranted.

As if shrugging the question off, Koba reaffirmed himself. " Ollusuvanovic will arrive in Tehran shortly after your return. I trust that stipends from the oil industry will alleviate the present difficulties of food provisions. See to it that the people are treated fairly." Koba had strutted to his desk and produced a document along with a pen.

" The DCU will be returning state ownership of the Docks and rails previously owned by the Imperial monarchy. Our security forces will continue to oversee the rail ways until a proper Kaemenid force is able to be allocated to its sentry. I suggest you see the docks are personally attended to from here on out." Koba had slid both pen and paper across the desk to the Kaemenid Premier. As Sabri studied the document and proceeded to place his signature next to Koba's, he paused before returning the paper and looked up.

" How many recruits of the newly formed Kaemenid Socialist Army are able to be allocated to the Unions pursuits in Eastern Europe?. Koba glanced at Sabri and slid the paper away from under Sabri's palms. Koba's deep brown eyes beamed at Sabri, his voice stiffened with command,

"Half... half of the European divisions are to compose of KSA recruits if we are to streamline their latent abilities of being a standard fighting force. Accommodating their numbers and providing capable officers to supervise their activities have already been undertaken. " Both leaders were met with a brief silence as the Union's cityscapes and fields continued to bustle and work despite their moment of pause. Yuchkagrad and St. Petersberg would begin to swell.

Of the 400,000 soldiers gathering along the Eastern cities of Russia, 12 divisions would be auxiliaried from Iran and travel north through the steppes to meet with their Russian counterparts in Grozny and Yuchkagrad. Plans were to be to evenly spread the western front over 3 separate armies. The Persians were to be brought up to speed.

At Koba's instruction, a persian security force provided arms by the Russians would directed to garrison and stand post at all major coastal and fringe cities of Iran. Garrisons of at the very least 1,000 men. Sabri was to oversee the training and standardised ability of this KSA security force.

At the same time, Koba began preparations to reinforcing Siberia against the threat to the east. 4 divisions were sent in the initial phase down the Siberian rail to the far east and Eastern regions of Siberia. The number was kept low for tactical reasons and to avoid detecting a congestion of armed forces, seeigg as they would be spread out 5 cities or more. Ambassadors were sent into Mongolia to discuss the political climate of the situation. Rail cars were being modified and equipped with bastions to hold... Something other than cargo via extention.

Rhodesia relations

Salahadinn Faizal, a Kaemenid ambassador would find himself leaving Chabahar for a diplomatic mission to the contested territory of Rhodesia. His route would first take him through Tanzania for observational purposes but a telegram would be sent ahead to Rhodesia that he would be arriving in norther Mozambique and sought to discuss terms of trade regarding food provisions for the Persion people.

He awaited the Man's Response.

Takahiro sat back, taking in the deluge of information. He found it odd that the Rhodesians would come to them, of all people, for assistance in this matter. It would certainly not have been their first choice, but then again, it was likely they had run out of options. This was a rather serious matter, and if it went poorly, there could be dire consequences. However, this concerned their mutual rival, after all, and if the Togerians could be destabilized even a bit, it would be a good route to take.

If this had come to him a few years prior, he would've been more cautious, and discussed the matter in great detail with his brother and the rest of the clan before making a decision. However, it was clear that the current Shogun would not retain his title for too much longer. The blood had begun to get to him, as it always does in the end. It had begun to contort his physical features, far more severely than it had Takahiro by now, and he frequently flew into fits of madness and uncontrollable rage. The Shogun rarely left his quarters any longer, and if he did not take his life soon, he would certainly lose his humanity. Of course, he maybe had a few years in him now, five tops, but it was clear to everyone that his tenure as warlord of all Japan was at its final stages. It was time for Takahiro to get used to calling the shots on his own, and now was as good a time as any to start.

And so, after a long moment of silence, Takahiro finally gave his reply.
"Very well. On behalf of the Akarō Clan, I, Akarō Takahiro, Lord of the Ryukyu Domain and brother to the Shogun, accept your humble request for assistance. The exact details of materiel support and assistance, as well as pricing, can be determined at a later time, but you have my assurance that it will be available for your cause."

He shifted his seating, preparing to give the second part of his message.
"Now, as for the other part of your request.... I believe it is based on a misunderstanding. I think you will find that the shinobi is not quite what you seek for your task. If it is protection you require, I think I may have something far more suitable for the task."

Rhodesian-Mozambique Boarder.

The man would be warmly met by a group of plain clothed Rhodesian Security service officers and the head of the Economics Council. Making sure to keep all appearances in order, he would be ushered to Salisbury, were he would be Warehouse that served as the HQ for the Rhodesian Trading company, were he would be met by the Governor him self, as well as the other 6 members of the Council.

Ushered in to a room, the council would be seated around a large wooden table, the room open to the warm weather and light breeze, which did good to dispel the Cigarette and Cigar smoke. The Governer would speak. "Well good sir, my people tell me you are a trader of sorts, please, introduce your self."

Takahiro knew exactly the right person for the job. It was an idea that had come to him on the spot, without prior planning or consideration. However, this was the perfect opportunity to fulfill the request of the foreigners and also to "break-in" a valuable but niche asset. If all went well, then it could prove useful in the future, and he could carry on his plans as intended. If it came to the worst, then it would indeed be regrettable, but the risk was well worth the reward.

"Indeed. I believe that I know precisely what you need. You need someone who can be trusted, someone with talent, someone who can protect your princess from attempts upon her life. I know just such a person. Now, admittedly, this asset has not been "field-tested", but has been trained from a young age for just this sort of work. Training enough to mitigate the gap in experience, at least. I can have you acquainted without delay, so there is no need to wait. I only ask that you try not to get your new bodyguard killed by reckless behaviour, as this is a pawn I would prefer not to expend lightly."

Relations

The Empire:
In the years after the coup in 1880 a period new colonial rule fell over the now "Togerian" subjects, a rule that until the recent hiccup of The 2nd Great War reports had shown was largely favorable. The war in its needless slaughter had cast doubt in the Mother State's ability to defend to act in the best interest of its colonies. Something Bushman would have to consider, and priding himself on his colonial he wished for nothing more than for his country to embrace her empire once more and to leave the nest of European political intrigue. However this process could not be rushed, for though it was her wish she and in decades prior purposely entangled the interest of Empire with that of the greater European narrative.

In this Togeria would have to formally apologize for her negligence in not heeding caution. For first of his many acts he would undertake was rearranging his Republic's Cabinet, setting forth an agenda to allocate more funds and towards the repair of the London and other damaged property following the war, as well as setting forth a budget to repair its battleships as well as set date to formally discussing the reworking the budget of the Republican Forces.

After he would than establish the Department of Colonial Affairs and Finance , with offices set forth in each major capital of the Republic it would act as the chief body of rule within the colonies.

In the two years following his election the DCAAF has proven pivotal in developing Bushman's ultimate goal, a fully federated and interconnected empire. With resources of Britain, India, South Africa, and Australia along with the vital trade routes provided by the East African territories and Morocco. It was than vital that these areas be consolidated with the British way of life being allowed to permeate into these societies. Autonomy mattered not, it was a preferred alternative over the cost of direct rule but it was a power that could only be blessed upon the most loyal of colonies. The memory of the United States and Canada was still fresh, one a perfect example of an utmost proper and civilized nation and society while the other was....American.

And so over the two years great steps were made to negotiate more autonomy to the so called "Sister Republics" of Britain, Ireland, India, South Africa (Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Natal, Transvaal, and Namibia), and Australia as well as begin to process of Dominionhood for the colonies of Nigeria, Rhodesia (South, Central, and North), as well as South Arabia and East Africa.

It was expected for this project to take time with the culmination of these efforts being to establish the Commonrealm best described among Bushman and his colleagues as Terra Britannica, a mutual and assured pact of defense and free trade among each of the Sister Republics and Dominions.

The Commonrealm
Due to the rules of British Parliament, amended in 1890 under the London Model, the Prime Minister would be elected for 2 terms of five years with the ability to run for election a third time, with a unanimous vote of confidence from Parliament. This was key, as Bushman planned to with whatever time he could pull for himself he sought to lay down the very foundations of Terra Britannica and to see the process of federation and union begin to take route in the year 1930 exactly after his planned second term.

It was why he more than any other minister before him campaigned so fiercely for equality among each member of the British Empire, colony or republic. He could see during the war, that damned war the toll that the news of death so close to the shores of Britain had on the psyche of his countrymen. The trap of Europe and her splendor had bled the empire deeply and only now did the pain from her wounds subside so she may tend to them. If the empire was to recover than her interest must not be directed towards the mainland nor towards the idea of reaping the fruits of splitting her investments into the continent and her overseas possessions.

He had drafted a system through which each colony in time would begin to adapt and nay even favor the British Model. Utilizing the DCAAF as the intermediary between Britain and the her Empire, diplomats, ministers, administrators, princes (India), and other bureaucrats would be sailed out to the cities of London, Dublin, Rabat, Lagos, Cape Town, Pretoria, Mogadishu, Nairobi, Bombay, Lahore, Delhi, Karachi, Calcutta, Colombo, Dhaka, Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Auckland, and Wellington.

More importantly no major media coverage was to occur on the insistence and effort of Bushman he worked to curtail unnecessary media coverage and working to ensure information reached the headlines-only-after it had occurred and thorough report had been written, typed, and archived.

As for the ultimate goal of these negotiations they would seek to with taking into the account the situations and necessities of each member state work to establish a better bureaucracy. Introducing aspects of the London Model which include but are not limited too: greater political and social inclusion of vagrants, farmers, untouchables, lower caste and the other financially unfortunate by opening certain markets around trade and industrial craft utilizing the potential of free labor offered by these groups to train them in specialized fields of architecture, plumbing, industrial work, and irrigation. In return plots of land, payments of bread, water, and coin, and lastly the Ennoblement of those loyal were perks to those who joined to work for the DCAAF, working as additional manpower for colonial infrastructural projects and in return reaping some of the rewards.

With titles too came protection in court, as those who deemed guilty in light offenses could simply have their titles revoked in place of jail time giving extra incentive to become ennobled. The process of this was headed by the Department of Nobles within the Ministry of the Interior, a simple process of ennobling individuals become a adopted after the fall of the monarchy both as a goal of the Republicans to establish an equal state where "All Men Are King" and too in an attempt to ease many of the then disenfranchised aristocracy by elevating the titles and positions of those who held the longest history of both lineage and service within the isles.

It was something Bushman admired and something he would spread to his colonies, looking to build an elite of individuals in each overseas possession marked unique only by their time as loyal British subjects and by their loyalty and service to Empire when called upon. These Aristocracy would in theory act as the backbone of Imperial Administration, these men and women along with their descendants moving or staying within provinces, within entire Republics working to act as administrator and liaison.

In this two houses would be developed to run Commonrealm:

The Parliamonium:
The largest of the two houses and called to meet every 6yrs, the Parlimonium would meet discuss Imperial policy, budget, projects, and relations of the Empire as a whole Each member had the ability to send 20 members, 5 from their executive, 5 from their legislative, and 10 representatives chosen directly from their people and given 4yrs prior to run for election for the position, for 1yr and a half they will work along with the second house and DCAAF to work on Imperial legislation, promote Imperial trade and relations, act a Judiciary by resolving major issues of importance within the Empire, and most importantly setting Imperial agenda at the end of each meeting setting a guideline of goals for which the empire will set to achieve.

The Folkthing:
A house dedicated to represent the interest of each and every citizen of the empire. 25 representatives from each member state would meet in a large council room of mixed seating, scheduled to meet every 3yrs the Folkthing would on each subsequent calling discuss the Imperial budget, trade, internal defense, and relations between each member state. While not summoned each representative had 3 terms of 3yrs to participate in their office with their vocation being towards direct managing of the small level affairs, providing council to Colonial and other overseas departments, as well as judicial proceedings between member states (externally) as to assess and resolve issues between members before they were allowed to fester and grow.

Rhodesia:
As stated it was the goal of the Britain to grant Rhodesia dominion. The hinterland colony though a valuable asset was too far both geographically and economically for the British to hope and try to install direct rule there not least their known hostility to the Republic. They were one of the few colonies along with Canada who opposed the fall of the monarch vehemently.

It would be the goal of small team of five, sent along with the staff on route to Pretoria. Once they would have arrived and rested they would have headed north, crossing into the furthest south of the colony in Botswana, they would be tasked to stop once in Salisbury and to discuss with the local elite their ascension into the Empire to Dominion.

In Defense of the Volksreich

Reactionaries in the South have finally been crushed. They have laid down their arms, either surrendering or being executed at the site of battle. The Alps have been brought to peace, and as a whole, Germany can finally focus on improving itself, as it has now stepped forward against infighting and is now ready to re-invent itself. The News has spread across the Country, and the German People are finally at peace with themselves. Trials have been held in Munich and Stuttgart for the treasonous activities committed by the Reactionary individuals, many would be convinced guilty to a Jury, though unlike their neighbor in the East, they are tried upon their acts against the People. Those who have raided civilian centers and those who have killed are given the proper sentences for Arson, Destruction of Property, and Murder, and those who were simply acting in support of the Reactionaries are committed to upwards of a Year of Community Service in order to help repair the damages they have caused. Under the Congress, it's wishes are to bring Germany under a more free position compared to it's past in support of the Citizen. Industry Standards have been raised in order to keep a safe environment for Workers, as a standard wage system has been set up in order to ease the economic ramifications of the Revolution, and to ease the transition from life under a Private Economy to one with a mixed Public-Government command. Many people across the nation have started considering the DUS as the "Volksreich", as the nature of the new governance has shown itself to be pro-citizen and run by the people itself. Since the Start of the Revolution the Congress has run smoothly and as planned as it has been, though if a system is perfect in theory Man will always find a way to steer it off course. The Original Revolutionaries have been and are aware of this, and are pushing through a system of Checks and Balances not unlike the United States' in order to keep the Union on track and the Congress focused on what it's intended for. And as the Guns fall silent across the Alps, the question arises. How shall Germany defend itself from external threats?

During the Revolution, many officers and commanders defected to the Socialist cause, as for the reason Germany wasn't embroiled in a bloodier civil conflict. All shapes of men and women took to the streets under the Red Banner, but as Officers came together under the flag valuable experience and command came with them. Thankfully, when presented with the question, the Congress' Defense Branch held up in it's efforts to cut down complications and bureaucracy. The Revolutionary Army shall be divided under Three State-Funded Branches, the Navy, the Air Force, and the Land Force. Funding would be divided accordingly to importance. As well, there would be a Fourth Element to the Defensive Structure of the Volksreich. Guided under the spirit of the revolution, a State Militia, the Volksarmee would come to fruition, allowing Veterans and those normally thought to be unfit for service to participate in the Defense of Germany when the Fatherland needed them most. It would have a separate Command structure that could easily be integrated under the Defensive Branch in the event of War, and allow for Surplus Equipment to be utilized to their fullest extent, as well as other rather dated equipment that could still be found to be useful. A Standing Army goal was made at 850,000 and was expected to be made by the end of the second year, as the Economy and perhaps more importantly the people continue to recover from the Great War. From the Experiences of the Global Conflict, it was shown that a primarily Infantry-centric military was good for defense and slowing down the enemy, but when two come to a head it results in thousands of casualties without any significant gains. Thus, there would be a strive to focus on the motorization of the forces and increasing the effectiveness of the armored core of the Revolutionary Army. A rather recent Great War development would be the Sturmpanzerwagen Oberschlesien, an attempt to create a faster moving assault tank that could spearhead assaults, create breakthroughs, and be easy to mass produce. This would be brought back into production to test out this new direction of thought, of doctrine.

And no other place would be better suited for mobile warfare than Eastern Europe. As well, research in Intermediate Cartridges would catch the interest of the Defense Branch, developments would been considered during the closing days of the Great War as firefights often broke out much closer than the effective range of a proper bolt rifle, and with a lighter cartridge comes the capabilities to carry more ammunition. It would be decided to allocate funding to this project, though not much as there is still a vast stock of Great War ammunition and rifles that are able to be used and ample in ability for the time being. As well, the famed MP-18 submachine gun would be put into standard issue, as they have proven their worth in the trenches as Close Combat weapons, squad leaders would be first equipped with the Submachine Gun, and once those needs have been fulfilled they would be allocated to other members of a squad. Though before this, Shock Troop units would be equipped with the SMG first if so needed. The effectiveness of an Air Force was shown during the great war, and it decided that more research and development would be brought into this area as well established Air Superiority will coincide effectively with mobile warfare. Though as this happens, action will have to wait, as the German People require their rest in order to perform their best. A Message was sent to their DCU Allies to inform them of this development, and requested that they allow the Germans a Month to arm and transport the required forces to carry out the operation.

The Diplomatic Front

The results of the 3rd Congress were more than satisfactory. It was unexpected that a nation such as the DCU would be so eager to launch their own nation into war once more when from the outside they seemed ill-prepared. As well, they seemed to be more willing to cooperate then expected, considering the ideological differences from the Bolsheviks in Moscow and the People's Congress in Berlin. Either way, preparations were to be made. The Revolutionary Army was much smaller compared to the height of the German Imperial Army during the Great War, but within it's ranks consisted of Veterans and Experienced Troops who served to protect the revolution in Southern Germany during the time of the Revolution. Out of a total of the 400,000 total personnel numbered in the R.A.D, 280,000 would be allocated. Divisions would be reorganized and modeled after the Imperial Division Structure, each Division numbering 17500 men, totaling 16 Divisions for operations. 4 of these Divisions are planned to be equipped with Motorized and Armor Brigades in order to gain valuable insight and experience with such equipment in large scale operations. Deals were made with the DCU government to exchange Industrial and War Materials for Raw Materials, and shipments were being prepared to arrive in St.Petersburg. An order by the Congress to start mass production of the MP-18 was put into effect in order to arm Shock Troop Regiments and to fulfill the shipments promised to the DCU, as the first wave to the Eastern Lands would compose of 3,000 of the submachine guns, several 30 round magazines for each, and a good supply of ammunition for whatever purposes. As well, able workers and engineers are to be sent to the same location to uphold the promise of assisting the construction of Infrastructure and Industry within the DCU. On a side note, there has been talk in Congress in bolstering the Military's numbers considering that now that internal affairs have quieted down, a more pressing issue to the south remains. A Congressional Order has been made to more than double the number of Ground Personnel to 875,000 by the summer of next year to allow for a 50 Division Military, as it has been nicknamed the "50 Division Plan". Re militarization isn't something that is to be taken lightly, and especially so soon. The Great War came with an immense cost, and Germany is now just recovering it's strength.

The Arrival of Italian Diplomats would cause a stir within the Congress, as it was unexpected for an ideologically opposed nation to even bother to reach out to the Socialistic Germany. The Italian and German struggle was as alike as it was different, as the two peoples shared the experiences of sacrificing men and willpower to a causeless war. They both called, cried out for the destruction of the Old Order, the Young are those who shape the world, and it was time for the Sickly and Frail to pass their rule, either by their own will or by force. Though, the States would fall short in unified efforts. The DUS called for a furthering of the German People through leadership of the People, whilst the Italians alloted power to those who demanded it. Their differences and likenesses could be further listed, but the leadership of the two understood what had to be done. Europe is experiencing the heavy aftershocks of such a wide spanning war, and it would be wise, no, necessary to keep the peace to prevent further bloodshed across the continent. Francesco Guinta would be given safe passage to Berlin, where Karl Artelt would await his party's arrival and hear their case. The Two Groups would meet in the Reichstag, once home to the Diet of the Empire, now the site of all Congressional Activities. Two Guards, armed with MP-18s, would flank the doors to the dedicated room as the Italians were led to their seats and the Germans took up their own seats. Given the News of the Arrival would come before the train arrived, the Italians were allowed to speak first before the Congressional Representatives.

Togerian Republic

Relations in Europe:
Although Bushman more so in the view of his critics always seemed to champion a crusade against trade against Europe, it was however not his goal. Only to remove the political intrigue that came with trading in Europe and eliminating the notions that British Imperial good brought with them an insurance of British Imperial support. In the eve of the war's end three major blocks could be felt forming in Europe, headed respectively by the powers of France, Germany, and Italy. There is no reason to assume that the possibility of another Great War could indeed break out and prove just as if not deadlier that previous conflict.

It was imperative that in any such event, Britain itself would be excluded from the arena of ever changing dynamics, instead content to be idle and with her empire. She would act a near-complete and separate entity from Europe the resources afforded by her territories bestowing upon her a continent of her own.

But, the Europeans were inarguablely the most advance people, the continent itself within past decades becoming the steel heart of the world taking any resource and pumping out a vastly superior product to any competitor. It's distance as well would make any notion of completely cutting off these two market forces from each other asinine, especially when the product of mutual cooperation could be so much more fruitful.

Due to the previous war having left cold many of the relations Britain had previously enjoyed, she would be forced too with great secrecy to reestablish her previous ties. Formal declarations and news posting of recent political events were to occur only after they had been achieved. In this Bushman would through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and select committees dealing with foreign interest during the war would be assembled. A new temporary committee known as the Committee of Imperial Assessment (CIA) would take over in establishing contact and reopening relations. They would in teams of 5 enter the cities of: Paris, Berlin, Vienna, Milan, and Rome totaling 25 individuals.

These men and women would be given the power for the purposes of creating, negotiating, and signing any treaties and agreements. Technically these were not official, and would be given to Parliament for review upon the operatives return.

Greetings and Salutations,
Through actions of the Great War our states have entered a period of hostility that has never to this day been adequately resolved. We wish on our part to bring to your attention a willingness for open discussion and debate so that we may negotiate a long reaching and long lasting end of hostilities among our peoples. For your part our request are simple:

1. Recognition of Franco-German border pre-1870.
2. A pledge not to interfere in Belgian affairs nor to station troops along their border indefinitely.
3. A reopening of British-German relations as well as previous financial investments that may still be applicable.

Republican Military:
The war in its claiming of lives and resources had nearly dried the Republican Treasury and more importantly had placed a hole in the chest of Ministry of Defense. Indeed not only was he forced to consider the economic cost of any militant action on the part of Britain but the moral cost it could take on the populace so close removed from their previous conflict.

In 1919 Bushman would send the BEF home, and would work to ensure the process of their entry back into civilian life would go smoothly over the preceding years. Further he would limit the Army to a total of 250,000 similar to their numbers of 1914 and as before these numbers were to be made primarily of British mainland subjects.

This was to be the beginning however, the cost of war necessitated a small break in order to speed the process of recovery and armament. He knew too that while Britain had suffered large losses she was spared the fullest extent to which she may have suffered if she did not pull out when she did and if she was attached to the mainland. The threat of Germans and now Italians along with the bad feelings the French may still harbor was indeed a troubling proposition along with the news of a new "Socialist Pact" within Central and Eastern Europe, many in Parliament speculated and theorized not if a war could come from this deadly mix of political ideology but when such a war may happen. And though many dreaded the idea no man dared to utter the fullest extent of their worry least of Bushman.

All were in agreement though, it was too soon for any major power to such soon push for war and should it arise the mere level of death and stagnation experienced in the trenches dictated a new and better doctrine be developed. The latter stages of the war through the introduction of planes, the tank, and very later the use of highly mobile shocktroopers against allied lines had proven trench warfare under certain and favorable conditions could be broken. Many hypothesized it was not the first time such a phenomenon had been encountered: Australian bushman, Commandos, the tribals encountered through empire, each people fought small or at least small compared to the usual European style of war and all to varying degrees of success. If not for the success shown of such tactics in latter stages of the war and to the extent of which they achieved, the command would've likely than too wrote it down as a mere observation. But besides the focus away from larger columns of troops there were other factors: artillery size and position, differences in troop success when or when not aided by mechanized units, air superiority, naval superiority. All had and were to be taken into consideration. More so than any lesson the strategy smaller scale units supported by varying degrees of support, mechanized assistance, and aerial protection could in future endeavors limit if not void the occurrence of trench doctrine.

But in order for these theories to be tested the Ministry of Defense would have to see itself restructured. In order to accomplish this an agenda worked on in early 1919 would see completion, taking into account known and published figures of British military and civilian losses. Bushman would due to his greater emphasize on projecting Republican power and integrating already existing members would work on establishing a policy of consolidation and fast reaction.

This would require the Republican Navy which due to the war had lost some: 2 dreadnoughts, 11 battleships, over half a hundred destroyers and half a hundred submarines, with a quarter of submersibles having been taken out commission as well. These losses were seen as unacceptable and only threatened the doctrine of Naval superiority that the British had fought so hard to achieve. It would be of the most vital importance that repairs were made almost immediately with the 2 dreadnoughts ordered to be built to recover the loss.

War And Peace

Image
*Blackshirts blocking entry into the city

The new order had swept Central Europe as nothing more than a reaction towards the foul and rotting corpse of Capitalistic greed and war. Now, two members of such capitalist class would enter the den of the new order with nothing but what would appear to be a list of demands... war goals, in the eyes of the well educated. Isaccson and Plainsworth would arrive in Rome to find themselves greeted by a line of men in pure black uniforms and emotionless faces. The line would open in the center to reveal the face of Francesco Guinta. The man, much more imposing in stature than once believed by the Togerian Ambassadors, stepped forward and shook the hands of the pair with a firm but dignified grasp.

"Welcome to Rome, Togerians…. I regret to inform you both that your requested parlay has been denied..." the mans tone fills with anger as he speaks like a pot of water slowly coming to a fiery boil. He turns to the men in black uniforms and begins speaking in a much louder voice "You see, comrades.... This is what these vile people are all about!" He holds a document up into the air for all to see, including the diplomatic team "They claim this is the road to peace and understanding.... please allow me to read it to you all... Number one... Recognition of Egypt as a separate and independent entity within the British sphere of influence...." Guinta looks towards the diplomats "Territorial acquisition! They demand that we sit idly by and allow their ideology of wanton greed to spread throughout the world!" He laughs "Point Two.... A pledge not sail any large warship or substantial warship (cruiser, torpedo boat, submersible) towards the strait of Gibraltar or Bab-el-mandeb… A pledge.... A worthless pledge with no more meaning than the word of a rat! But it is rats that you are..." Guinta sharply stares at the Togerians "Point Three, and my personal favorite.... A reopening of British-Italian relations as well as previous financial investments that may still be applicable.... You rats desire to make money off of the backs of Italian Laborers? This... This is the most abhorrent list of demands that my eyes have ever graced! Rats! All of you are nothing more than disgusting filthy rats who desire nothing more than the death of the Italian people for the betterment of your own wallets... You have brought me what reads more like terms of surrender than that of a diplomatic treaty!" Guinta rips the document into pieces as he looks back towards his men. He walks back through the opening, disappearing into the Roman streets. The blackshirts form a line, preventing the diplomats from entering Rome.

Orso Moffa, the head diplomat to the team sent into the heart of Germany, took his seat with confidence. Moffa was by no means an imposing man and his young face aided him in gaining the trust of those around him. He would speak in a formal tone, loud enough to hear yet not insulting. He would also speak in fluent German out of respect for the other side.

"Gentlemen, me and my colleagues have come to Berlin under the direct orders of Il Duce Francesco Guinta to negotiate the stability of Central European Affairs for the coming years. I would like to open by pointing out what unites our causes rather than divides them as I believe it will make the case for stability more attractive. Our two nations both suffered during the great war and in fact our men fought alongside each other as equals. We buried are dead together in the shallow graves of France as the Togerian forces besieged us with waves of artillery. We embraced each other at the end of the war as we made our way back to our respective homes. We both began to see the corruption and injustice in the capitalistic and monarchist systems. We rejected these systems and we raised the banner of war once mor against our own kings and emperors. We established new societies, wildly different but equally as radical in thought. We have achieved a new social order in Europe with the Togerians standing as the last bastion of the old ways. We, today, ask you to join us in once more in creating stability between our two opposing ideologies. First, the states of Hungary and Romanian shall remain free and independent from both of our influences as buffer states so that we may not go to war in the near future. Second, the border, located in the heart of the alps, must further be demilitarized in order to decrease the chances of direct confrontation. Lastly, we ask for an official non aggression treaty of least two years to be signed in order to facilitate peace. Thank you."
