On November 1st, 2020, the United States of Natan will hold its quadrennial Presidential Election. President Nicole Gross of the Democratic Party, with an approval rating of 68%, will be running for a 2nd term. Currently, she has no serious challengers from within her own party, though there are a few minor candidates who've declared but who currently trail behind her in the polls significantly. It is expected that she will win 100% of the delegates to the Democratic National Convention, being held in August of next year. The only challenger of note is Eunice Halley, a far-left perennial candidate who's never held public office, and despite her anti-war positions, holds suspiciously close ties with foreign dictators, particularly ones accused of war crimes, and has repeatedly acted as an apologist for them.
The Traditionalist Party, however, is expected to have a massive primary field. Having badly lost the 2016 Presidential election with former businessman/reality tv host-turned fugitive expat Ronald Stump, they are looking to rebrand their party. Already, several candidates have declared their candidacies, both members of the party establishment and allies of Ronald Stump. Major candidates include Jon Fenner, a U.S.N Senator who's campaigning on "compassionate conservatism" and is trying to distance the party from Stump. Another major candidate is Devon Kincaid, a notoriously bigoted state governor and close ally of Stump. He is campaigning on a pledge to deport minorities and strip them of their citizenship.
While several minor parties will also be fielding candidates, they are not expected to poll high enough to participate in the general election debates.
