It’s Election time again!

The Steppe Khanate, a constitutional monarchy that takes up most of North and Central Asia (And is in the Midas Casino RP Group Canon world) is holding elections for the Council Leader (The Tribal Council and Parliament are the upper and lower legislations, while the council leader is equivalent to Prime Minister)

Previous Council Leader, Raroko Khakjaida of the Conservative Steppese Independence Party (CSIP), is being term limited, while his longtime political rival is retiring

Here’s a map of Administrative Divisions, with the electoral votes for each one shown

Rules:
You may endorse any candidate, and actively fund/support your candidate as they campaign across the Khanate
NO War (Some new players consider election threads as spaces to declare war on nations)
NO Outsourced assassinations, every candidate will stay alive until election night
I’ll be posting campaign speeches, rallies, etc.

The Aureumterrese government has endorsed Chinbai Dargan for the Steppese election, a reporter has also been sent to the Khanate to cover JP election news

The government of Prussia-Poland would like to announce it's tentative support for Sorkhaghtani Yesugen, although it has not entirely ruled out Chimbai Dargan either.
As usual, the Prussian-Polish East Asia Military District has been raised to the alert level of 1/5, and all land, air, and sea units will be ready to act within 24 hours.

Dargan was a young up and coming politician. A rising star within the Steppese right wing, Council Leader Khakjaida had taken him as a protege, and he was trailing behind a few of his opponents in the polls. Khakjaida had been wildly popular, winning reelection in a landslide, and he had a lot to live up to from his mentor. He stepped up to the podium for one of his first rallies,
“People of the Steppe, we have been on the right path for the past 10 years under Council Leader Khakjaida’s leadership, and I pledge to continue this path of prosperity! We need to deregulate our mining industry, it boosts the economy and creates many jobs right here in the Khanate! We do not need to rely on foreign powers for our mineral needs if we can simply produce them ourselves! This intense regulation pushed by Buyirugh and Urus to “protect the environment” basically means they care more about trees than Steppese workers. I also will go tough on the radical islamic ACSS, trade embargoes with these nations will follow my election. The fact that Urus criticizes the PPC, one of our most important allies, is completely embarrassing! I, on behalf of the Khanate will make sure to strengthen ties with our allies, PPC and Aureumterra. There is another country, Purnelaw, with it’s far left socialist economy, that has been occupying Eastern Europe. Expect hard foreign policy on Purnelaw. I will also make sure our military is strong, powerful, and feared by all, not to reduce it or cut spending!”

Dargan, having given a fiery rally speech, stepped down as the crowd of his supporters applauded.

“For the past few years, under CSIP rule, Muslims in the Khanate were discriminated against” the screen cut to numerous events where islamaphobes had physically beaten up muslims
“The islamaphobic PPC had been oppressing Asian lands” The screen showed the PPC’s Asian colony
“And Council Leader Khakjaida did nothing” The screen showed Khakjaida giving a speech on PPC’s alliance with the Steppe
“So remember, this election, VOTE URUS, who will give all religious minorities the protection they deserve, regulate powerful monopolies, and press diplomacy against the PPC”

Imperial Calidia frankly found Dargan to be the most agreeable candidate. But the master of realpolitik that was Jean Lunardi was not looking for agreeable. He was looking for advantage, and he saw Dargan as an economic enemy that would challenge Calidian power in the diamonds industry. On the other hand, Urus was a leader who would render the Khanate both unliked globally and weaker in the diamond industry. Lunardi knew supporting Urus, however, would be outrageous if done vocally.

So, Lunardi and his senate, for the most part, agreed on the idea that silently placing a little bit of money in Urus' hand wouldn't hurt. It was a win-win. About $180 million USD's worth in Calidian ducats was offered to Urus on the grounds that he wouldn't reveal Calidian involvement under any circumstances.

Leading the polls seems to be Sorkhaghtani Yesugen, followed by Mönkhbat Urus. For me, personally, Yesugen and Dargan are good options, while Urus and Buyirugh are way to radical. Urus has also run a campaign ad citing Dargan’s party, the CSIP, of Islamaphobia.”

Prussia-Poland announces that it will be donating 7 million Reichsmarks to Yesugen's campaign. This is the equivalent of approximately 280 million USD.

Steppe Khanate

"This is Wilhelm Utrecht, reporting from the Steppe. As it is, candidate Sorkhaghtani Yesugen of the Steppese Centrist Front is in the lead, with Mönkhbat Urus trailing right behind. After them are the right-wing Dargan in 3rd, and the left-libertarian Buyirugh in dead last. As expected, Yesugen is the classic centrist, neutral on all things, which is why, with Prussia-Poland balancing it's own values with the alliances it has with several Muslim nations(namely Samporna), she has been endorsed as Prussia-Poland's favourite candidate. As for Urus, he has somehow managed to combine Islam with left-wing social and economic policies. How he did that without his head exploding is beyond me.

In other news, a leaked recording of Kaiser Crassus referring to Urus and Buyirugh as "Absolutely disgusting...the most despicable of mankind" and "completely and utterly cucked" has surfaced. Strangely enough, said recording has not been banned under Lèse-majesté laws. In fact, several figures close to the royal family have even shared it on social media, often accompanied by emojis of laughter, fire, and ok-hand gestures, and, in the case of one of his personal guards, text reading(and I quote): '/e dab', followed by several cross emojis, among others. With a hint of incompetency, the Calidian reporters reporting on the Dargan rally positioned themselves to where the Aureumterran reporters are visible at one of the corners. The reporter, a ridiculously curvy Yanet Garcia archetype, stands with a tad-too-wide grin before the invite.

"Bonsoir, Calidie! Ou, vraiment, bonjour! Je suis Lola Molyneux et je rapporte..."

For the English viewers, the translation, with a thin Calidian accent, finally kicked in just a second or two too slow, turning Lola's native francophonery into a quiet mumble behind it.

"Good evening Calidia! Or should I say, good morning! I am Lola Molyneux, reporting live from the Steppe Khanate at a political rally held by election candidate Chimbai Dargan," she says, turning to the aftermath of Dargan's speech to very blatantly present her rear end to the camera. "-- who has just finished delivering a fiery, passionate speech. He is now descending from the stage. Back to you, Max du Barry."

"Thank you, Ms. Molyneux. Now this speech..."

Bla bla bla. While the Calidian Camera in the Steppe was off the air, the news network began airing a replay of the speech for those who didn't see it. The Calidian news team turned to the exiting Dargan and waved to him excitedly, hoping they could get a quick interview in.

The Mongolian Family of Amenria's world, the Görjid Clan, the Novoluniye Coven of Russian vampires, the Poornachandra Pack, and the Imperial Religious Authority donate money to the most moral candidate equal to 50 Million USD each. In addition, the Kirigakure Network offers to help Urus with social media and television-based campaigns.

Dargan, seeing the reporter waving to him, walked up to her, “йии?” he asked, in Steppese, his translator quickly said it in French, “Yes?”
Lola waved, replying likewise in French. "How was your day, Mr. Dargan?" This was a stiff social grace that Calidian news anchors, strangely enough, had to follow. It was an odd contrast to the laidback nature of Calidian society. “It was great, thank you… the campaign trail is hard to keep up with” Dargan replied. "Would you be up for an interview, sir?" Lola asked, giving a somewhat poor attempt at puppy-dog eyes. “Yes, sure” Dargan agreed. "Okay, we'll be back in a moment."

The Calidians had to keep Dargan waiting for a moment or so. They offered him non-alcoholic drinks if he wanted any while he waited. While awkward, it was soon-enough ended by the news group going live once more with a "We're live in 5, 4, 3, 2-" from the cameraman as the news agency transferred the feed back to Lola Molyneux. The cameraman, as obviously ordered, kept the camera a sufficient distance that Molyneux's posterior was placed in the corner of its view.

"Ah, allo again!" began the newswoman, who began rapidly mumbling in French to the camera, before getting onto something about an 'interview'. She turned to Dargan. "We have the man of the hour here with us for a brief interview. Mr. Dargan, how would you describe your political platform?”

After having translated, Dargan replied, “I would call myself quite right wing. I am heavily nationalist, and believe the Steppe needs more deregulation to boost our economy, as well as going tough on socialist nations such as Purnelaw in terms of foreign policy” Dargan replied.

"You heard it yourself, folks, a candidate quite similar to our Monsieur Lunardi!" began the girl.

Jean Lunardi, in his presidential home, smacked his forehead and groaned.

"How would you say your platform fits into the landscape of Steppe politics? I understand that your rivals are quite different to yours." Lola didn't actually understand that, she was sort of just half-spouting -- an art, which the voluptuous news anchor was rather proficient in -- meaning that she was only about fifty-percent aware of any of what was going on.

“Well, I am simply continuing Council Leader Khakjaida’s term, in a way, our policies nearly line up. Khakjaida is extremely popular among the Steppese public, and he won reelection in a landslide” Dargan said

"Well, if it isn't broke, no need to fix it, am I right?" Lola giggled. "So, do you view this election as a high-stakes election? Could the wrong candidate spell serious danger for this country?”

“Definitely, I don’t think I need to name them” Dragan chuckled
“The CSIP and SLP have been historical rivals, SCF and SSD, the other major parties have their own quirks, however, Mönkhbat Urus, is probably the one most dangerous to our economy, along with failure to maintain good relations with our JP allies. Buyirugh I would say is especially dangerous to our thriving mining industry. When it comes to Yesugen however, I don’t really see much bad with her, she’s neutral on all things, and has the legacy of her father, who himself was a great Council Leader. She does however, choose to keep some industries regulated, which may be a problem later on. All in all, Steppese politics is fairly friendly, and I don’t think anyone could put us in serious danger”

Thank you, Monsieur Dargan. That's all we have for today!" Lola turned towards the camera and smiled. "Now, back to you, Max du Barry!"

The feed went off the air once more, and the crew began to pack up their equipment into a truck. Lola stood straight and clasped her hands together. "Merci, Monsieur Dargan. Bon chance!" she thanked, before turning to join her team in packing up. As Dargan moved on, Ms. Molyneux picked up her pace to avoid stalling her team and scampered into the truck as quickly as her high-heels and tight dress would allow.

The government of Detland shall donate to all three parties and declares support for all candidates. It does not support the SJP however nor its candidate Mr Urus. We have decided to support the rest of the parties in hopes that it’ll keep the SJP away from power as we don’t believe they will benefit The Steppe Khanate and will infact, harm the country.

50,000 in Dettish currency has been funded to each party, excluding the SJP.

The Dettish government shall watch these elections closely and are hoping for a favourable outcome.

The Wells Arrive

Despite the Steppe Khanate elections being both far and insignificant in the eyes of the common Atkemrian, the government knew the true worth of this election cycle. The Steppe Khanate was a large powerful nation in possession of a multitude of natural resources who also was slightly sympathetic to the AA. Despite being in the JP the Steppe Khanate was more democratic than the whole of them and this would make them an amazing mediator at the negotiating table. This would be only a if they had a government that was a at least slightly sympathetic to the AA. Various parties were against the AA for multiple reasons. Though Dargan and Buyirugh weren't the best candidate for Atkemri and by extension the AA, Urus could not be allowed to win. The chances are he may try to encourage activists in the B.A.T, and that could not be allowed. The best outcome would be Yetsugen who was in the lead however Urus was quickly gaining ground with the support of many nations both officially and probably unofficially

The simple answer would be to give Yetsugen more funds and help him start a ad campaign, but there was one obstacle, the budget was deadlocked in Tribal Congress. There was another option. Call in the Wells family. Since Lucky Wells presidency The Wells Conglomerate had grown mostly through Wells various projects started after his presidency. His music career was objectively awful but it's novelty got copies sold and then more artists joined the Wells licence. Then came more entertainment based enterprises which were moderately successful and the Wells Corp was at a all time hig playing a important role in politics. This would be one of the shady of deals between the Atkemrian government and Wells Corp as it dealt with the meddling in of a foreign election. However the deal went through and Wells Corp was coming to the Steppe.

While ideologically, Samporna does not believe in the banning of hate speech; it does however hope for the wellbeing of Muslims in the Steppe Khanate. Urus's liberal ideals do not exactly align with Samporna, but he could be a possible ally to the ACSS. As such, Sampornese Diplomat Sudire Wazirij, would like to encourage the politician to adopt more nationalistic policies; and focus more on internal development rather than foreign policy. Nonetheless, 10 Million Dhahabs are donated to Urus's campaign.
