Going from what Bombadil said, we could, theoretically, actually just give Trump the funding for his wall late in 2019 knowing that it couldn't be built by the time Trump's out of office, but that presumes that he'd lose in 2020. Also, a lot of Progressive groups would pillory Congress for it despite administrative realities.

Or Congress could impeach him but you'd never get the 67 votes required in the Senate. Something truly beyond horrible has to happen but by then it might be too late.

Tbf we should have been working with Assad and Russia to begin with in that theater. The rebels were always going to fail and it's much more in our interest to have at least somewhat working nations in the area.Chernoslavia wrote:

Literally everywhere lol. Mattis was apparently pissed over this Syria thing, he went to the White House and then the White House says he "resigned". It's blatantly obvious Trump was mad he didn't agree and fired him.

It kind of is for him. The cold truth is that, because of the concept of executive privilege, Trump, or more accurately the president, is effectively above the law. Only impeachment or an unfitness declaration can remove him, and neither are likely.

I think it’s more likely Mattis just resigned
