Workers Uprising In Ogre

[The United Duchy Of Baltica]

Due to the abolishment of the Baltican Workers Union because of profound violations of Baltic law, former members of the Union are outraged with many being in open revolt in Ogre. Their reason for revolt is the fear of removing laws protecting minority workers which the BWU fought so hard for. Unfortunate for the Government Ogre is home to a large military base which has been overrun and as such any military incursions have since proven unsuccessful. Grand Duke Konrad has made a statement asking for support from the people of his nation to not give into the, what he calls, “Communist Promises” of the revolting unionists. Due to the stalemate and significant loss of life of military personnel inflicted by the entrenched unionists, Mustard Gas was deployed via package drop from a helicopter (Shortly after being shot down) killing many rebels and on accident their families. This deployment of chemical weapons although effective in breaking the stalemate has caused international outrage which the Grand Duke has failed to get address.

Prime Minister of the Federal Republic David Evans has announced support for the workers and will be send them aid in the form of thousands of dollars and other resources as they request. The only exception will be weapons or anything illegal in the country.

The right to express insubordination, and the right to bargain one's own wages are values which have been fought for time and time again, wave after wave, by the people. This, simply is, the forward march of history; and to stand in the way of history is to stand in the way of progress. This is why, the various crises and violations of Natural Law cannot be ignored. The position of the States must echo in this matter. The criminals which lay in the halls of this backward government overseas must be deterred by quasijudicial action. The abolition of the Baltican Worker's Union gravely disheartens the Sixth Administration. Acknowledging the authority of the Grand Duke over matters of his people, and the sovereignty which these people have self-determined; this Administration understands fully the extent of paranoia caused by the revolutionary vigor of the Baltican unionists. However, we believe too, that the promulgation of this authority herein was downright a violation of human dignity-- the human dignity of the opposition. The Congress of Soviets, after much discourse on the issue, and much surveillance of the political air in the region, has concluded to mandating that this was a shameless downplay of the semi-feudal aristocratic regime against the political freedom of the working-class. The deployment of mustard gas and the execution of the rebels themselves cannot be sugarcoated more than anything else other than state-sanctioned murder, and the slaughter of civilian life, i.e the 'accidental' killing of these rebels' families, are actions which disgust the freedom-loving people of Asia as a whole. Thus, the consequences faced by the Duchy, after a sincere Congressional investigation and an emergency, legal democratic referendum of the central government, wherein the victors of the motion (290 - 211) imperative December 18, in the People's Year, 2018; dictate the following terms enacted immediately until reparations are made by the Baltican government to the innocents victimized by the needless deaths caused by reactionary policies to local strife: Heavy sanctions are to be imposed on the nation, involving sectors which fuel local policing I. Firearms/Ammunition Trade - Will receive complete embargo II. Manufacturing Sector - Will receive 60% importation tariffs Cease and Desist Order is to be imposed to discredit the offending nation; meriting a denunciation on behalf of the Federation, to the whole world Strict Non-Issuance of International Debt We hope that the corrupted officials involved in this matter will take the responsibility of resolving this conflict through pacfistic means, by which meaning the eradication of violence to solve political disputes within the country. Our heaviest of sympathies to the victims of this massacre. A plan of aid to the Union has already been issued by the State Development and Planning Commission, to further fight the ill intentions of the Fascistic Duchy. However, that will not be necessary, if the men behind this heinous deed express regret and resentment to prevent the further burdening of their countrymen by even further consequences prepared by this Federation for any further countermeasures taken to ensure the preservation of this bleak political state.
