I believe Kuriko has done a great job as the 1000 Islands WA Delegate. When I read the description, I felt it was not descriptive enough to satisfy someone like me. I don't know much other that they are WA Delegate. I recommend adding a little bit more to help strengthen your proposal. I'll support it once that is met. This is nothing against Kuriko at all. In fact when I spoke to them the other day, they were very helpful. So you add more to the proposal, I'll support it.

Rule 4, section B, means you cannot use pronouns to refer to a nation. It must be written from the perspective of the WA, and the WA is not an OOC body. It commends or condemns nations, not players.

Minor quibble -- Kuriko identifies as female, so the "he" pronouns are not correct, even if they are allowed.

Submitted proposals cannot be edited. That's why we STRONGLY encourage players to [DRAFT] their proposals on the forums for several days (or weeks) before submitting. I've ruled it illegal. Go withdraw it, and don't resubmit it until or unless you get sufficient positive feedback here first.

WHY ARE WE YELLING?

To clarify, there are a number of reasons this proposal is illegal, not just the pronouns. Please spend a substantial time drafting this.

Yikes, the font size.

Ok, change his to it. Rp forums violates the rules so change it. This lacks a little meat on the bones so go interview kuriko or someone from XKI who knows him. Kuriko has done some defending and his dispatch listed some contributions so yeah.

I think you should edit the original post, because I'm confused as to which is your proposal. Feel free to add a spoiler for old drafts.

You only get one topic per proposal, edit the OP of your original, don’t make a new thread.

"Go interview Kuriko" - might as well be a self-commend.

Asking somebody about their accomplishments doesn't make it a self-commend, it makes it well researched. Sure, if the author is actively coordinating with and putting in exactly what the candidate says that would be questionable but just an interview isn't that.
I mean, and I'm not even going to touch the obvious hypocrisy of you of all people making self-commend accusations.

I honestly don't think Kuriko is worthy. Sure, they're good at writing SC Resolutions and are a defender. Honestly, what else have they done? Also, this proposal needs lots of work.

One thing this commend can mention is the behind-the-scenes work that often goes uncredited, including helping proposals with merit by helping with how to outreach. This service to the WA is invaluable because it empowers small fish, like me, to bring good, fair, and well-argued legislation to the WA.

Regarding their proposals, what do you think about adding details regarding the merits of these proposals? What benefits did they bring to the WA? How did they impact the community? This would give that point that much more force.

Also, what about their voting record in the Security Council? Has it upheld a pattern of justice? Kuriko's vote holds a lot of weight, a history of justice is a powerful reason to commend.

Separately, although Jocospor's comments are not very helpful interpreted literally, he is partially right. If you went to Kuriko and asked, "What can I commend you for?" that's probably not the right approach. The problem there is not with approaching the person, it's with the intentions behind the commend. The intention behind a commend should to be to genuinely celebrate that person's contributions, and to celebrate those contributions you have to have some understanding that they were made in the first place.

If you have a general intuition that this person is commendable, whether because of their history or because of a general respect for their contributions that for you is abstract or not of your time, there's no problem with talking to Kuriko. "I'd like to commend you for x, y, and z; could you offer me more detail on this? Could you link me to evidence?"

In fact, that's one way of corroborating whether your intuition is correct. And, of course, corroborate it against other third parties, including parties who've known Kuriko. Interview region-members, countries that endorse him, countries that refuse to endorse them (i.e. countries who've endorsed others in 1000 Islands, but not Kuriko).

So, don't be afraid to approach with questions, but know the questions beforehand and, out of an standard of fairness, don't fish -- and although I guarantee Kuriko would fairly judge their contributions, or even underplay them out of humility, it's just a good general rule to follow.

Assuming the OP is still working on this, the proposal contains several R4 violations. You cannot refer to a nation as "he" or "she".
In=character, Kaboomlandia is a World Assembly member and abides by its resolutions. If this nation isn't in the WA, it's for practical reasons.

TITO WA Delegate, and let’s not forget as Rejects Kuriko was an officer at one point.

Manson, there are a lot of people commended who are unworthy of the badge.

The WA can be both fickle, and overly excited in regards to badge giving. She certainly deserves it more than Bachtendekuppen, but the WA would rather give it to him than her.

I mean, in the end, it boils down to how well you campaign, and whether you have connections to high-ranking delegates.
