I saw this map recently and was wondering about this. I'm not sure if this is veering into off-topic, but it still involves some world building. Feel free to elaborate with your own responses. We can debate about the differences in the Asian cultures, but I only combined them to save room.

Our country is an alternate Papua New Guinea colonized by a Romanian Empire. Orthodox Christianity is the majority religion, but Papuans are the majority ethnicity and their culture and Romanian culture have mixed.

It terms of culture, it is capitalist with worldwide influences today, but historically primarily resembled Mesopotamian style, art, and language. In ceremonial titles, Roman influences can also be seen, and traditional folklore has connections to slavic and celtic myth. Its all over the place, really.
