Osotian Insurgency

"Operation Overbrook"

Image

Introduction

Form the beginning of the year, Osotia has been devastated by continuous conflict on its North-western peninsula. Hundreds of towns lay in ruins, leaving the people of Osotia fleeing South east into the interior of the country. Yet there was an opportunity that came upon them, The Kleifar Government (Osotia's standing Government) Allowed the Osotia Ground Defence Forces (OGDF) to take over for the Osotia National Police Forces (ONPF), and advance onto the peninsula.

On December 7th 2018, the first units from the 3rd Battalion of 67th Mechanized (Infantry) Division advanced onto the peninsula. By the close of the first day 3rd Bat. was only able to secure 4 towns. Reports of gunfire, mortar and rocket strikes on their advance teams. The OGDF's Intelligence branch reported that factions had popped up replacing the ONPF units and secured each of the major cities. Each of these factions have declared independence from Osotia and were currently warring for control over the material wealth of the region.

The Kleifar Government urged the OGDF to secure the North-western peninsula by the end of the year to hopefully avoid the conflict spilling over into the rest of the country.

RP Summary
This RP is based on a fictional I have developed for this RP, with ideas coming from other RP's I've been in and the current on going conflicts in Ukraine and Mali. This will give the opportunity for the player to choose several roles;

1. Deploy their own troops with the Osotian's: this will ally your nation with the Osotians and assist in Operation Overbrook.

2. Deploy Peacekeepers, Foreign Aid, Mercenaries, etc to the region or your own forces for your countries gain putting you against Operation Overbrook.

3. Develop your own Insurgency on the peninsula and develop a new nation to fight.

Whatever choice you choose to do it will be a lasting effect on Osotia and will effect the out come of the game.

RP MAP

This RP includes its own detailed map. The Osotian Front line is marked in dark blue. Each of the large city centers (Population 350'000 or higher) are also marked in black with their name beside it. These cities are places that the Insurgency players can start from.

Very interesting. Can you tell us a bit more about the background of the conflict, the ideologies of each faction, etc.?

If you open the map and zoom in using the Ctrl and mouse wheel (or the page up and page down keys) and follow along the coast you will find a series of markers on the map.

For Example: Looking at Grid 032, 012 you can find the town of Skalsgurd

Using this image you can see major roads (orange dashed line) and Minor (Orange dashed line small), Forests, Swamps, small towns and cities (circles) and borders (thick black dashed line)

Of Course, I will modify the OP to add more background! I was merely using this as a interest check. I had not thought that i'd get people on the first day!

To be frank, I was leaving most of the factions up to the player to create, however I have some flags and some factions drawn up in my head that can be used for this.

The original conflict however is largely based on the governments mandate with a neighbouring country. Very much like the Russians and the Ukrainians.

I've noticed something with your applications so I feel as though I need to say something.

Munstenheim: you have 200 personnel and 8 in total vehicles.... If you see no issue to this then fine but I fee like I need to say something.

From just your equipment and what I have allowed for your limitations as a peace keeping force you are allowed a company, roughly 200 men.

Here is an example of a Marder Panzergenadier kompanie (1985)

The Company can have 1 to 3 Panzergrenadier Zug's

Each Zug (Platoon) has 5 Marder 2's caring each platoon ( Containing 1 HQ team, 3 MG3 Teams and two Milan Teams)

one of these platoons can be replaced with 5 Leopard 2's.

In addition the company can have a attached Mortars, Artillery and Anti-air and Anti-tank, seen below.

M113 Panzermorser Zug
Three 105mm Motars loaded in the back of Three M113 APCs

Luchs Spah Trupp (x2)
Each trupp (Troop) has 4 Spähpanzer Luchs reconnaissance armoured fighting vehicles with 20mm Rheinmetall MK 20 Rh 202 automatic cannon and a MG3

M109G Panzerartillerie Battrie
Each batter has 3 M109G SPAG's with a 155mm Gun and MG3 or .50 BMG.

Jaguar 1 Jagpanzer Zug (or Jaguar 2 Jagpanzer Zug)
A pair each of Jaguar 1's using HOT ATGM's (Similar is the Jaguar 2 however it uses a TOW ATGM system)

Munstenheim if you wish to change what you are taking I'll allow you to make that fix. though the map each grid square is 9 kilometers squared. You do not have enough vehicles to transport your men.

For everyone else, even the ones that I have agreed to their application, understand that this is a huge amount of space. If you plan on making your men walk then fine but you are going into an unforgiving environment so I would like all of the groups prepared.

I see that alot of you will be supporting my story though option 3, None of you wish to play as the advisory and no one wishes to fight along side my forces. (With the extreme lack of information that is understand able. I will be working on the Official OOC and I will be releacing all the information about the Osotian Insurgency later this weekend if not, this Monday coming up.
