M3 Railcar retirement

Postby Mohacian » Fri Nov 30, 2018 2:17 pm

A railcar from New York state the M3 is one of the 3rd oldest ones in my state. And now sadly :( it is time to retire. These cars were serving in New York for 34 years and the M1s 33yrs of service. And now there is a railcar that will replace them The M9/M9A railcars. These ones will take their place and these trains will be not forgotten forever as memories of these pictures in the internet.

Bad news: the m3/m3a is retiring.

Good news: the m9s will take their place as dedicated.

CLAIM: nations who comment this topic i will always respect your comments so do you. THANKS :) :)

R.I.P

M3/M3A

1984/1985 - 2018

M3 friends will be missed as memories: the M7A, the P32 w/shoreliners 1,2,3, i think 4 and 5.

Interesting. I'm glad to have found out about something I may not have otherwise for a long time. I've moved out of New York, but the memory still persists :).

The M3 will be missed.

Y’know, in my high school accounting class I had this one guy obsessed with trains. Pretty hard to keep up with half the things he was saying, but I’m 90% sure he mentioned this one, and it sounded pretty cool.

So, uh, r.i.p., hope you go to railcar heaven

Buy new cars from Bombardier

It will promote employment in Plattsburg NY and is allowed under the new treaty with Canada

Nah. It's just that a lot of people lack proper intensity about trains.

I take photos of trains, does that make me intense?

There's this bridge I like to go sit by to watch timber trains go by, does that count?

M3 retiring? Replaced by M9?

Are there secret trains we're not being told about in this story or did New York skip five numbers?

Also, after googling a picture of the M3, I should have known you were talking about subway cars and not real trains.

It's not nearly as beautiful as the locomotives that come through my town.

Yeah but now Dr. Daystrom put his brain pattern into it and made it a super-train.

Numbering systems for different models of trains (even when in a sequence or a family) can be a bit weird sometimes. I have an interest in German trains, and their numbering systems are all over the place too.

Makes about as much sense as I'd expect, but you could tell me anything about the New York City subway system and I'd probably believe you.

...this doesn't feel all that newsworthy.

What are we supposed to discuss? That the M9 subway cars are a waste of money that could be put into better use padding out the execs pockets?

The c3's are more comfortable, and hold more folks than the m3's. The m3's are still superior to NJ transit's rolling stockm

Really? Now I sad.

And these cars are for the commuter railroads, not the subways.
