Fascism is a historical phenomenon that happened in Europe, and its ideology is essentially based on historical conditions there. Ideologies in Asia developed completely separately and had their own causes and effects. Which causes confusion when trying to apply that label in completely separate historical contexts such as Japan between the Meiji and Taisho periods. The Right/Left dichotomy is largely useless when dealing with eclectic thinkers like Kita, who wanted an Asian equivalent of the EU which spoke Esperanto.
