The saddest part about Humanity is that we gather scientific knowledge faster than wisdom-Isaac Asimov, Terran Author c. 2nd Millennium

The Role Play

The role play is centered around the state of the Milky Way Galaxy in the 26th Millennium. The all encompassing Galactic Imperium is crumbling. Economic and social stagnation, moral decay, the slowing of scientific inquiry, technology run amok to its own detriment. Knowledge being lost and forgotten in the fires of increasing amounts of conflict across the Galaxy. Humanity, founders of the Imperium, and dominant species in the Galaxy is fading in power. As numerous sectors and constituent states splinter, fragment, with warlordism rampant. The central authority of the Emperor and the Imperial Government weakening as more and more power is handed over to regional and local rulers. The Imperial Senate, founded four thousand years prior to the start of the role play, has grown ineffective, lax, and hedonistic in their day to day running of the Imperium. Imperial bureaucracy once known to be uncompromisingly efficient in governing such a vast domain has grown fat, convaluted, and corrupt. Players will have to make a hard choice. To try and save the Imperium or work to their own ends whether if it hastens the Empire's fall. As such players are encouraged to take positions of power in the Galactic Imperium. As a means to keep themselves relevant in the role play. As a politician, head of a Great House, High ranking Imperial officer, or whatever interests the player most.

Further I cannot stress enough the fact that Imperial Technology is increasingly rare. Due to the gradual decline in technology, knowledge, and technical expertise as the Galaxy recedes into what could very well be an Interstellar Dark Age.

The 26th Millennium

It is the 26th Millennium, and the Galactic Imperium stretches across the Milky Way Galaxy, an Empire of approximately thirty-five million planets, stations, outposts, and asteroid colonies. For over twenty thousand years it has endured; encompassing Humanity's Golden Age as a space faring civilization, extending over a period longer than any except for Human pre-history; Against numerous foes of all sorts. Giving rise to an unprecedented Golden Age for Humanity. The Pax Imperialis has lasted for thousands of years, yet the façade is cracking, being chipped away at an ever increasing rate. The Imperium is decaying, failing, as economic and social stagnation take hold. Wars ravage countless worlds. Technology run amok to cause frightening levels of damage to the Empire's infrastructure as devastating weapons are brought to bear by warring factions. Inadvertently causing such internal damage as to lead to the loss of knowledge. Knowledge that is replaced by religious fervor and dogmatism. This is not readily perceptible to the average Imperial citizen who may reside on a world yet untouched by all the horrors going on in the Galaxy. But it is happening. Scientific progress has grown to a halt, advanced technology growing increasingly sparse and far in between, as Imperial civilization is increasingly fragmented and damaged by the ever increasing wars and civil conflicts going on in the Galaxy.

The Imperium is centered on the world of Nova Terra, a city planet, and capital of the Empire. Home to 1.8 Trillion people the planet is almost entirely covered in continent spanning city-scape. Stretching from dangerous Under Cities to the glittering spires of the top levels that are home to the Imperium's elite. The Imperial District is the only region that still retains natural fauna and native wildlife. Covering much of the Northern continent and within it's confines sits the Imperial Palace. The Imperial Dynasty, The Imperial House of Valkyran, also resides on the Imperial World of Odin. Odin is a paradise world of beauty and untarnished environment. Opposite of the built up and completely urbanized world of Nova Terra.

Technology Guide

Technology in the 26th Millennium is incredibly varied. From relatively primitive like gas powered automobiles and cellular based communication devices to FTL capable starships, cybernetics, cloning, teleportation technology, and more. However, this guide is just a short reference piece and not to specify all parameters; the guide follows a simple top to bottom scale followed by a Type scale as defined by John D. Barrow.

Solarian Technology
Solarian technology, exceptionally rare and poorly understood at best, can only be used by those with Solarian genes in their heritage. Though given how such genes of the 26th Millennium are incredibly diluted most pieces of Solarian tech will only function intermittently or not at the levels it would be expected to perform. As the extinct Solarians tied their technological marvels with them.

Solarian technology was largely a mystery even when the planet of Solaria itself was known to exist. being one of the Original Twenty alongside other semi-mythical worlds of Mankind like Alpha Centauri, Aquaria, Aurora, Caprikorn, Proxima Centauri, Old Geminar, Tauron, and more.

Solarian Technology in all applications generally surpassed contemporary technology in all aspects. Solarian ships were said to be capable of instantaneous or near instantaneous FTL, near lightspeed on sublight engines, and capable of using time and black hole producing weaponry. The battlesuits and weapons of the Praetorian Guard are famously all of Solarian make.

Type Omega-Minus

High Imperial Technology/Archeotech
Spanning from the reign of Oserian I to Valeria II and Kysteria III depending on who you ask. Archeotech being technology made before the Imperium but advanced enough to be on par with High Imperial Tech. This category represents the pinnacle of Imperial science. Imperial Medical machines produced during this time could cure practically any illness or disability, extend lifespans to at least 500 years, and include such marvels like intra-system teleporation, ships going from one end of the Galaxy to the other in a week tops, and slagging worlds with their conventional ordinance. The Copernicus-61 campaign led by the Crown Prince famously used a number of ships built during this time. Rendering life on the surface extinct in minutes and causing tectonic instability in a matter of hours. Other marvels include perfected cloning, cybernetics, Super-Intelligent and Near-Sentient A.I.

Type VI-Minus

Late/Modern Imperial Technology
Corresponding from the reign of Kysteria III to the present. Late/Modern Imperial Technology is still very advanced but clear signs of stagnation and decay are present. Starships built in this period are often more simplistic in design, take longer FTL jumps with most averaging a couple weeks to a few months to cross the Milky Way, while their weaponry is seldom as advanced or efficient. However, they are often just as robust but often lacking the fancier defensive mechanisms of their forebears.

Imperial technology still maintains near to perfect cloning, large manufacturing capability, advanced cybernetics, and computation but to a lesser degree than their forebears.

Type V-Minus

Early Imperial Technology/Ancient Technology
Technology from before the founding of the Imperium up to the reign of Oserian I. Such technology is still light years ahead of 21st century human understanding. But more basic, simple, and less efficient than even Late Imperial technology. Starships built during this time could take a few years to a few weeks in transit to cross the Milky Way depending on when in the era you place yourself. Medical technology regularly extended lifespans to at least 250 year and had decent cloning, cybernetics, and automated capabilities when compared to the 26th Millennium.

Type III & IV-Minus

Primitive Technology
Technology before the Imperium and regarded as Primitive in the eyes of 26th Millennium scholars. This is technology that is often confined to Museums or non-functioning heirlooms. The Imperial Museum on Nova Terra famously boasted the largest collection of Primitive Human technology in the Galaxy. There you'll find an ancient and nigh indestructible communication device simply called Nokia; An electric automobile found floating in interstellar space with a dummy dressed as a primitive astronaut sitting in side and a name inscribed, whether its the owner or manufacturer has yet to be determined by Imperial Historians, named Tesla. Other such artifacts include painstakingly pieced together starships from the Ravenstar Empire, a ship ostensibly of Martian design, an old warship from the Terran Federation, fragments of clothing and uniforms, pieces of machinery, and all manner of small archaeological finds.

Type I to III-Minus

The Imperium

The Imperium is the Galactic political entity that stretches the breadth and width of the Milky Way Galaxy. Previously the bastion for civilization and the only sovereign power in known space. Semi-autonomous states of a bewildering array do exist and once more or less vassal/protectorate appendages of the Empire. Now, increasingly, these states are exerting near or effective independence as the central power of the Imperium fades. The Imperium's own directly ruled territories are divided up into Over Sectors and then Sectors held by High Governors who oversee the sector governorates; Protectorates and Semi-Autonomous States; and the territorial possessions of the Empire's Great Houses whom now effectively rule their own empires. Therefore planets are often classified not only by terrain but their political position within the Imperium. The Imperium, excluding SAS and Protectorates, is organized under the Imperial Government into Oversectors which are 600 by 600 cubes of space. Those are sub-divided into Sectors of varying sizes depending on stellar density but do not exceed 300 by 300 light years. High Governors have Viceroyal powers in that they have prime administrative authority over the Sector Governors. Now these bureaucratic titles are often supplemented by more fanciful titles either through personal favors from Imperial nobility, the Imperial Dynasty itself, or of their own volition given the Imperium's increasingly helplessness to stop such self-appointed rulership.

Imperial Worlds: Planets that are under the direct rule of the Imperial House or Government.

Protectorate: Worlds that are essentially self-governing in all aspects but external affairs.

Semi-Autonomous State (SAS World): A world that is self-governing and has its own limited military force. Usually because it covers more than one star system. Officially allowed to have a Representative/Senator in the Imperial Senate.

Colony: A world that is not officially an Imperial World and dependent on external support until it became self-sufficient enough to gain higher status. These are often harsh worlds with limited populations operating for a specific purpose like miners or pioneers. Typically chartered and have minimal Imperial oversight if at all.

Spacer Domains: Stations, colonized asteroids, and void based communes are classified as Spacer Domains and have to send tithes to the Empire to allow them to be bestowed with charters allowing them free travel anywhere within Imperial territory.

Image
Planetary Class:
Gaia/Alpha Class: Rare natural gems of worlds, paradise worlds.
Continental/Beta Class: Terrestrial planets
Terraformed/Epsilon Class: Worlds that have been terraformed through artificial means
Arid/Gamma Class: Planets that are terrestrial but arid climate
Barren/Delta Class: Most planets with an atmosphere are just barren rock
Alpine/Cheti Class: Mountainous worlds, often mineral rich
Artic/Omega Class: Freezing worlds of snow and ice
Dead/Zeta: Lifeless worlds that are either atmosphere less
Death/Theta Class: Worlds where the very environment is hostile to non-natives
Tomb/Iota Class: Technically a sub-class of a world that once had life or an atmosphere and now doesn't.
Volcanic/Yota Class: Hellish worlds of fire and unstable tectonic activity

The Imperial Senate & Government

Four thousand years prior the Imperial Senate was formed out of increasing social and political pressure by the various political powers in the Imperium. Comprised of the Upper House or House of Magnates that is composed of the Great Houses (higher nobility) and SAS Representatives; The Lower House made up of the Imperial Governorates and often dubbed the Gubernatorial House. The Imperial Senate effectively runs the day to day business of the Empire and is the prime legislative body. Its laws form the basis of Imperial order and the responsibilities of the various Imperial departments making up the Government.

The Emperorship

Occupying the Celestial Throne is the Emperor and used to be an Absolute Monarchy until the founding of the Imperial Senate. The Emperor is the prime executive authority within the Empire and the Imperial House of Valkyran has held the throne for most of the Empire's history. It is the prime executive authority in the Empire and the departments under the Celestial Throne form the Administration that effectively runs the Imperium. The Emperor is also the Commander-In-Chief of the Imperial Military; though, day to day top level decision making his done by the Joint Chiefs.

The High Court

The High Court or Galactic Judiciary is the Imperium's top level Law Court. Originally the Emperor was the top judge and jury in the Imperium with the Court system under him. Now it has been removed by the Imperial Senate and made into its own third branch of the Imperial Government. The High Court is made up of eleven members. The Chief of Justice and the ten Supreme Judges forming this top most judicial council. Under them is the various Imperial High Judiciaries overseeing Over Sectors, Imperial Circuit Courts overseeing Sectors, and local Magistrates overseeing Planetary Courts.

The Imperial Military
The Imperial Military is answerable to the Emperor as Commander-in-Chief, The Joint Chiefs who have operational authority and top level administrative powers, and the Imperial Senate where civilian and economic matters are concerned. The Imperial Military is divided into the Imperial Navy, Army, Guard, Praetorian, Logisticae & CyberTroops (Military research, development, exploration, logistics), and Imperial Intelligence (sub-divided into Navy, Army, Security for Imperial property and offices, and black ops). The Joint Chiefs are appointed by the Emperor, and are made up of officers from all the Imperial military branches.

The Imperial Navy is responsible for all void and aerospace warfare. The Army is the planetary fighting force of the Empire and garrisons worlds across the Milky Way Galaxy. The Guard also named Imperial Stormtroopers is an elite shock troop Corps typically deployed for specific operations. The Praetorians are the personal force to protect the Imperial Household, Palace, and person of the Emperor. The Logisticae fills in the auxiliary rolls of the Imperial military while Imperial Intelligence is the primary information collection agency.
Ranks and Further Information
The Imperial Navy, Imperial Starfleet, Imperial Warfleet, and informally by dozens of other names across various dialects and planets. The Navy is the void arm of Imperial Will and monopolizes Imperial void warfare in all aspects. At first it was simply the vastly enlarged and rapidly expanding Nova Terran Navy, itself borne from the Nova Terran Space Defense Force, and was not formally referred to as the Imperial Navy until twenty years into the reign of Emperor Augustian I (circa 5800AD). The Imperial Navy has grown, been reformed, and evolved over the course of the Imperium's history. During the reign of Emperor Augustian I, it numbered several hundred thousand vessels of various classes and bewildering array of origins, having absorbed many of the leftover ships of defeated polities. As the early Navy was beset by a vaunted logistical nightmare on how to deal with patrolling a vast dominion. Augustian however laid the grown work of the Navy's organizational structure by tasking over half of it to specific Sectors and Oversectors, and the other half into strategic or reserve fleets.

Augustian's grandson, Karellian, was the first Emperor to deploy the fleet with the intent to ravage an entire planet from orbit. Sacking and devastating Procyon Primaris, the capital of the defunct Star Kingdom of Orion, in what would be the Imperial Navy's first major engagement against an internal opponent. Emperor Karelus I formally ratified the Militari Centralum in Perpetuito which abolished the rights of nobles, Protectorates, SAS's, and colonial militia forces from having their own first rate combat fleets. While also centralizing the command structure of the Navy with the formal founding of the Admiralty on Nova Terra. As before the rank of Admiral was a purely war time rank and replaced the now ancient rank of Commodore. During this time the Navy was constantly battling piracy and smugglers as the Imperium carried out great waves of colonization into the Periphery.

The Navy under Emperor Siegan I, became the primary space enforcers of the Lex Imperialis when it was introduced during his reign, and in t he following civil wars dealing with the Imperial successions of Kysteria and Amadira a centralized academy system was formed across the Galaxy. The Navy escorted colonizing vessels into the Magellanic Clouds and were at the forefront with the war against the OSB. During which time the Rank of Grand Admiral was introduced and the Navy had to recover from massive losses despite ultimate victory being achieved. Losing tens of billions of spacers, pilots, and officers in the titanic struggle.

The Imperial Navy is organized from the top down into strategic, sector, and reserve units. The strategic formations of the Navy are not assigned to a specific region of space but usually given an Imperial Warrant to pursue specific goals, patrol specific regions, or conduct certain operations. These formations are known as Armadas (numbered) and broken down into several numbered Fleets. The Sector fleets are the fleets assigned to Oversectors and their sector sub-units. Often these formations adopt the name of the sector they are assigned too, many wearing them with pride as esprit d'corps or putting them on the campaign banners of their ships to show how many areas, battles, or actions they've participated in. The Reserve Fleets are numbered but always with the letter 'R' given before their numeric designation. Below the Fleet level are flotillas and squadrons. Squadrons typically number a dozen ships in total while flotillas are usually taskforces assigned for specific operations.

Marines
The Imperial Marine Corps, Gunheads (by their Navy counterparts), or Void Troopers are subordinate to the Navy and assigned to protect Navy ships, stations, installations, and property. Trained in Marine Corps Academies, first founded under Emperor Archedammus I, as before the Navy provided their own security and did not have a distinct organization specializing in it. Marines are often in competition with their Army counterparts when operating in the same theater since, on occasion, their actions may overlap. On more than one occasion full on brawls between battalions have occurred in the mess halls over trivial matters of whose unit has racked up more kills over their formation's history.

The Imperial Army, Jarheads, Mudsloggers, and a myriad other flattering or insulting names. The Imperial Army's history places it as the oldest branch in the Imperium under the technicality that Emperor Augustian formally referred to the Imperial Army in the first year of his reign. The Imperial Army originally being the amalgamation and generic term for the extremely wide array of forces that came under the Imperium's banner. Originally having authority over their Navy counterparts till the Act of Separation under Emperor Oserian formally dissolved any inter-rank authority save under specific monarch decree.

The Imperial Army has fought across thousands of star systems since the Imperium's founding, and went head to head with the ESB in over sixty-million distinct engagements across the Galaxy. The Army garrisons worlds and locations across the Imperium. Operating over one hundred Academies and specializing in dozens of terrestrial and EVA environments. It is the most diverse branch in the Imperial military, a common joke being, "The Army has a soldier for that," as a reference to the high degree of specialized formations existing within its organization.

The Army is organized into fireteams, squads, platoons, companies, battalions, Regiments/Brigades, Divisions, Corps, Armies, System Armies, Sector Armies, and Theatre Armies. The lowest unit ranging down to a pair of troopers at minimum to the top level possessing up to a few billion soldiers.

The Imperial Guard, Imperial Stormtroopers, and other names refers to the elite corps of troops fanatically loyal to the Emperor, Celestial Throne, and Imperium. Routinely recruiting orphans into their ranks, the Guard is often fanatical in their devotion, which can put them at odds with other organizations. A Guardsman's life is a Spartan one, enduring a tough and rigorous recruitment and training regimen, followed by often being posted to the most hazardous warzones in the Galaxy. The end result is a cold, efficient, devoted warrior who will take orders without question and carry on fighting even if suffering crippling casualties. As such Guardsmen are often only sent in to deal with civilians when in extreme situations do to the fact they have a record for dispensing harsh, often casualty strewn, policies for those breaking Imperial Law. Guardsmen at the tactical level resemble their Army counterparts, organized into fire teams, squads, platoons, and companies. But as you move into the strategic realm they differ. Guard battalions are often purely combat formations, support battalions instead replaced by support brigades on Guard ORBAT's, Guard Regiments and Divisions are often permanent formations with long campaign histories. Usually given honorifics by reigning monarchs for their actions. The top level organization is the Legion ranging from 50k to one million Guardsmen.

The Guard originated during the reign of Emperor Valorian, replacing the older Imperial Palace, Household, and Royal troops (dating back to the Nova Terran Imperium or pre-Galactic Imperium nation).

The Praetorians, Praetorian Guard, Imperial Bodyguards, Palace Guards, Watchers, Golden Ones; the Praetorians go by many names. The official bodyguards and protectors of the Imperial family, Palace District on Nova Terra, and any major property like the Imperial complexes on Odin. They are as old as the Galactic Imperium itself and perhaps even predate it. Emperor Augustian makes mention of the 300 'Companion Praetorians' as the likely original core of warriors. Certainly by the reign of Emperor Valorian they took their canonical appearance and size at 10,000 Praetorians plus support, auxiliary, and automaton assets. The Praetorians are an intensively secret organization often seen as wielding arcane technology and even their exact recruitment methods are unknown to all outside of their number. Staunchly loyal to the Imperial family, Celestial throne, and reigning Emperor who directly pays and oversees their finance. Praetorian suits are themselves artifacts, the golden armor that is iconic of them being ancient Solarian suits of armor, and possibly even predate the Nova Terran Imperium (hence predating the Galactic Imperium by centuries if not thousands of years). Their weapons themselves are often artifacts or the most advanced of Imperial technologies and assets. For no expense is to much for the Emperor's guardians. They alone grant audiences, access to the Palace district, and protect the Imperial Vaults. Not even the Senate may command them nor demand inquiries unto them for they are beholden to no one but whomever sits on the Celestial Throne and even the Lex Imperialis is explicit upon their powers being beyond reproach. Praetorians may act as the Emperor's authority and persona in absentia and wield imperium maius in regards to operations within their purview or warrant from the reigning monarch. In regards to Imperial citizens they are official arbitrators with extra-judiciary powers, and may wield tribunician powers in pursuit of their duties, not even Senators may be except from them in regards to the Lex Imperialis. For the Praetorians may be Judge, Jury, and Executioner in pursuit of their duties.

Varies between who they are attached too. Medical staff will have doctoral or nurse titles. Engineers will be titled Imperial Engineers etc. There often have two ranks: first is a rank given by what branch they are supporting and the second is their specialization. So an Army Doctor could be Captain of Medical Unit 109 as an example. The Logisticae does not have a reserve, but rather is split into Sector and strategic elements under their own respective Directors.

The Imperial Intelligence Bureau or II for short is the amalgamation of the various intelligence agencies in the Imperium. Until the reign of Emperor Valorian and his son, Valerius, the different branches had their own distinct Intelligence commands. However, in an effort for greater coordination they where all amalgamated into one central agency under the Emperor. The II is the most fluid branch in the Imperial military and as such its teams, sections, and divisions vary wildly from one to the other.

History of Mankind

Era of Old Earth
BC-2200AD
Spanning from Pre-History to the 22nd Century AD the Era of Old Earth was a time when humanity was confined to the Sol System and the only habitable planet of Earth. By the Mid-21st Century Earth was plagued with resource wars, famine, and all manner of conflict. It was this desperation that launched the first automated mining stations and research facilities on The Moon, Mars, and the Asteroid belt. Progressing to permanent habitats on the Moon and Mars by 2080. By 2100 Humanity was choking Earth as overpopulation reached critical levels and the first generation ship left Earth for the Alpha Centauri system. Many more would follow for other neighboring stars. But by 2175 Humanity had discovered a very primitive form of FTL using an Alcubierre drive. Allowing ships to reach systems up to 5 Light years away in a single calculated jump. Some of these new ships arrived in systems before the surviving generation ships arrived and the local group of stars was colonized.

The United Federation Era
2200AD-2347AD)
The limits of Human FTL and navigation limited Humanity to the local bubble of stellar systems. However even then great leaps in colonization where forming. Along with this came the first colonial wars as more developed worlds began to show signs of increased planetary consciousness to themselves as separate from Earth. Eventually culminating into the damaging Great Colonial Schism which was a series of wars from 2314-2347AD. Bringing an end to the United Federation and formally dissolving the United Nations and their parliamentary system. In exchange establishing the United Earth Directorate. A corporate conglomerate.

The Corporate Era
2347AD-2402AD
The rise of megacorporation's taking control of entire worlds replaced the former nations of Earth as the leaders of humanity. Great economic gains where made at the cost of social and civil liberties. But the corporations ruled with an iron fist as they are what funded the Earth military which won the Great Colonial Schism. It was not until the Martian Revolt of 2399 and the subsequent struggle that the corporations lost political and military power. Being replaced by the Terran Republic which returned to the ideals of democracy. Primitive Terraforming technology was introduced during this time to remake Mars and many other worlds into fully hospitable planets.

Terran Republic.
2402AD-2463AD
The Terran Republic saw a restoration of the democratic ideals of the of democracy. However this too ended when a coup led by the victorious Admiral Julian Apostaric, victor of the Frontier Wars against the rebellious human settles of the Sirius Star system during the Sirian Insurgency. Founding the short lived Terran Hegemony that only lasted till 2477 with the murder of Apostaric and his entire family by Wilhelm von Ravenstar. Founding the Terran Empire with a constitution granting social and economic freedoms along with technological advances with the introduction of the Warp Engine.

Diaspora and Terran Empire
2477AD-2955
The Diaspora and Empire go hand in hand as the Imperial fronted Warp Engine allowed humans to make calculated jumps that where cost effective at distances of up to 15 light years before needing refueling. Along with increased navigation computers allowed humanity to colonize much of the Orion Arm. The Ravenstar monarchs, good or bad, reigned over a momentous time in human history. The drawback was that the Empire was being outpaced by the rate of exploration and colonization with hundreds of worlds settled. The introduction of more advanced terraforming techniques hastened the amount of time it took to transform a world and also make it more Earthlike than ever before. It was in the beginning of this era that the Original Twenty, referencing the original Twenty worlds that managed to be founded without Imperial control took place. Forming nascent states out of the reach of the Empire. Ultimately this led to the Great War when the Empire learned and sought to conquer the Original Twenty. The result was the nuclear bombardment of Earth and the destruction of seven of the Original Twenty along with widespread damage to the Empire. Fragmenting humanity and Earth began to be lost to obscurity.

Spacer Era & Rise of the Galactic Empire
3600AD-5786AD

By 3600AD many of the warring states in the Orion Arm had been absorbed by the Star Kingdom of Orion (British Empire in space) centered on Procyon Primaris. The other three major Galactic dominions arising from the newly colonized arms of the Galaxy being the Sagittarius Star Empire (modeled on the German Empire/Prussia), Cygnus Interstellar Hegemony (Asian themed), and the Perseus United Systems (Western Democracy themed). Further advances like the Positron Matrix to create true artificial intelligences, various FTL drives allowing anything from a few dozen light years to thousands in a matter of hours, and all manner of biological enhancements.

In 5786AD the world of Nova Terra was the capital of the regional power, the Novan Imperium, that as the larger four Empires engaged in a bitter struggle for power managed to eclipse them all. Slowly absorbing them all until it was the sole Galactic power left. Styling itself the Galactic Imperium.

Age of the Imperium
5786AD-Present)
The Era of the Empire is the longest period of Human civilization. Stretching over twenty-thousand years absorbing all of known space. Launching a wave of exploration, colonization, economic growth, and technological explosion. In a way the Galactic Imperium was expected, greater FTL and technology allowing for a practical galaxy wide government to form.

Humanity under the Imperium is varied, with most worlds having high standards of life and the average life span at roughly 250 years. Many worlds are either self-sufficient or heavily specialized. Industrial worlds producing trillions in goods, to Agricultural worlds producing enough food stuff to feed entire star systems, to worlds devoted to the advancement of human knowledge. Imperial Medicine and Bionics allow those with the means to acquire it can greatly extend their life span.

Humanity is also more varied, many of the oldest Human worlds have populations that mirror their environments or possess unique traits and therefore forming different races. Alien populations, a minority, are generally extended the same privileges as humans if they assimilate into Imperial culture.

In 25,659: The Imperium launches massive campaigns in attempts to curb or destroy the rising amounts of piracy and sedition among dozens of worlds. The Copernicus-61 campaign led by Crown Prince Valerian himself proves to be the culmination of this as it crushes the newly created System Confederation. The Confederation having attempted to secede with over a hundred other worlds in a formal declaration.

25,660: Crown Prince Valerian vanishes. Leading to the Emperor withdrawing from most public affairs and the Imperial Crown Princess Valeria assumed to be heir presumptive. Verina converts to Terraism, a Human supremacy religion that is rising rapidly throughout the Imperium. Terraism holds Earth as a Lost Holy World and that Humanity's destiny is to inherit the universe. That other alien species are an affront to Humanity's manifest destiny, and as such should have lower status. It's belief in a divine being to arrive creates a zealous movement and several religious military orders. Many of whom conduct pogroms against the thousands of alien species in the Imperium. Some even going so far as to attack Humans who have diverged, in their eyes, to far from the pure human form.

25,662: Senate Passes the Act of Restitution. Effectively enlarging Great House and SAS territories and granting them total Judicial and Legislative power in their domains. Due to the still stagnating Imperium and its slow loss of control.

25,663: Verina is ordained as Protector of the Faith and put in charge of the newly unified Holy Orders of Terra.

25,666: Purging of Caliv IV. Holy Orders commit genocide on the Perdatus Gulf world because they hold the native religion of Al-Islar as heretical. Over five billion people are killed in the course of 72 hours.

25,667: Perdatus Gulf conflict ends after 171 years. The conflict originating between various religious groups seeking to overthrown Imperial control in the Sector. The Perdatus Gulf Sector and surrounding regions are desolate and in ruin.

25,680: Assault on Octaranos VIII occurs when the Holy Orders of Terra destroy the offshoot Protestanata Faith. Senate Passes the Act of Religious Toleration. Ordering the Holy Orders to cease their persecution of Imperial Citizens. This however only extends to Imperial Worlds and thus Religious Orders operating else ware still have free reign in their activities.

25,684: After four years and resistance from the Holy Orders and Terraism followers the Senate enacts the Proclamation of the Divine Synod. The Divine Synod is established on the ancient world of Sagittar Prime as the central governing body of Terraism and its offshoots. The Synod officially has a representative in the Imperial Senate's Upper House known as the Arch-Cardinal.

25,691: Disaster at Hesperidium: Senate gathering on Hesperidium ends in terrorism attack that kills four hundred senators and over a thousand others. Senate's Act of Religious Unity proclaims Terraism as Imperial Faith by the now Terraism majority Senators. This endorsement is met with mixed results and many Imperial Governors ignore this promulgation. Others however take to it zealously and conduct violent persecutions on thousands of Imperial Worlds.

25,692: Wars of Religion kick off across the Imperium and all its subset territories. Devastating over a hundred thousand worlds and causing widespread damage to three million others as the various religious and secular tensions across the Galaxy finally spark into the fires of war.

25,699: Wars of Religion end with a weakening Imperium as many planets proclaim themselves independent (nominally), any open attempts are quickly crushed by the Imperial military, however as previously stated the Imperium cannot stop effective independence.

25,709: Current Year.

Social Class: Nobility
Titles: Emperor of the Galactic Imperium
Occupation: Head of State for the Imperium
Hobbies/Pastimes: The ancient game of Chess, Equestrianism, and Writing
Talents/Skills: Competent Administrator, able to play multiple musical instruments, and possesses good skill in combat (formerly, he hasn't engaged in any sort of combat in decades).
Religious Beliefs: Atheist.
Personality: Charming, polite, and a gentleman. Baldor was raised for Imperial Court life and plays it well. However internally he is a deeply conflicted man who knows the Emperorship pales to what it once was. Concerned over the erosion of power in addition to the bickering Senate and the increasing fragmentation of the Empire.
Biography: Born to Emperor Koronus I and his sixth wife Verina, Koronus' only child, and rumored that the previous Emperor had to have Medicinal assistance to get his wife pregnant. A common joke during Koronus reign was of his rumored impotence. Baldor was born on a cold morning on the planet of Nova Terra. Within the Imperial Palace. Raised more by Empress Verina and the Imperial Vicar (chamberlain) Ernest da'Zurgenfeld than his own father; this was probably a good thing. Koronus was lazy and let more of the Celestial Thrones authority diminish. However, Baldor was raised to become quite the astute young man. Entering service with the Imperial Army and then the Guard to earn military experience at age 25. He lived, ate, and slept in the same rooms as Imperial soldiers. Although under the watchful eye of the Praetorians who where ever close by. Until the age of 42 when he left service and entered the administration. Appointed as the military governor of the troublesome planet of Orsar XIV. Needless to say he managed to end the rebellious sentiment there adequately enough.

In a more detailed summary of his military career the young would be Emperor entered service as a captain in the 15th Nova Terran Heavy Infantry, 'Emperor Valerian's I Own,' Regiment. The 50,000 strong formation was a veteran formation with a battle history stretching back since before the War with the OSB. The Regiment was deployed to the Perdatus Gulf and participated in the Assault on Alkaesor VII, the Siege of Tehrus, the Battle of Bloody Peak, and the pacification of Iraqqa Secundus. During that time Baldor managed to take part in frontline combat on numerous occasions despite all attempts at withholding him from direct danger. He earned the Solar Cross on two separate occasions along with four other members of his company during the Assault on Alkaesor VII and the Battle of Bloody Peak. The Solar Cross being one of the Imperium's highest forms of military honors and given for extreme bravery, gallantry, or valor. After three years the Regiment was rotated out of the conflict and he was promoted to the rank of Major. A year later he was a full Colonel and placed in command of the 2nd Nova Terran Armored Regiment, 'Gunheads,' for their fearsome reputation which some commanders call reckless. However their list of victories stretched back since the 9th Millennium. The Regiment was sent as part of the 889th Imperial Army Corps attached to the 98th Imperial Army fighting over the Kalesis System from multiple insurgencies along with the rebel government. It was there that he was wounded by a snipers laser bolt and it took three surgeries for the wound to be fully set to heal. Leaving the military at the age of 42.

Ascending to the Celestial Throne amidst much pomp, Baldor could have lived a life of endless luxury as the wealthiest man in the Galaxy, but instead chose modesty. Not being a genius, but not stupid either, Baldor is a man of relatively modest intellect. Marrying Augusta Va Angelus of Great House Angelus, he has five children: Valerian, Valeria, Verina, Romeran, and Reman. Aged 75, 73, 69, 65, and 57 respectively.

Biography: The eldest child of Emperor Baldor I, and born on the Imperial Sanctuary planet of Odin. Crown Prince Valerian grew up amid the beautiful mountains, beaches, and forests of Odin. He was groomed to be Emperor, a strong Emperor, and as such was quickly given over to the military. Performing above all expectations and even sitting on the Joint Chiefs for the Navy, Guard, and Army on three separate terms. Officially he is not formally a part of the military, and instead operates under specific mandates, fulfilling the role as an executive in the name of the Emperor than an officer of the Imperial military. As such he is often met with either praise or utter chagrin from Imperial officers. While also not afraid to circumvent Senatorial power to accomplish his own goals. As such the Senate is divided upon him as well.

Working with the Senate and observing the legislative process. Baldor hoped that one day she would become a Senator or Imperial Judiciary in the Imperial Justice system. Her life as a result has been a mix of backstabbing, boredom, and yearning for adventure. Hearing the stories of her brother and those of her father only make this worse.

After Valerian vanished unexpectedly Baldor retreated from public life. Leaving the new heir presumptive as the Emperor's Executor.

Biography: The third child of Emperor Baldor and his younger daughter. Verina wanted for nothing, but yet she stood out, for she was most like Valerian in resemblance; yet, was garnered with similar qualities as her father and older sister. She was a kind and gentle child growing up, largely on Odin, and cried when Valerian left to pursue his military training. She was always more attached to Valerian than to any of her other siblings, and the two where largely inseparable during their childhoods save when Valerian was on Nova Terra or else ware. Unlike her younger brothers who where largely raised on Nova Terra, like Valeria before her, Verina was raised mostly on Odin. Like her older brother.

At the age of 16 she was enrolled into the Imperial Logisticae Academy at Raithon Prime. Raithon Prime being home to an extensive Imperial military training base for the Logisticae in the Inner Worlds. Her father initially allowing this for a short time. She graduated after a year, a year early, with certificates in Cybernetics and nanotechnology. Her learning having been accelerated by the intervention of Baldor. Seeking to place her in one of the larger branches. She was transferred to the Imperial Navy, but did attend an eight week Marine training at Corona-Skie in the Middle Worlds. Arriving at the Sayshelle Naval Academy on the world of Santonni, located in the Outer Territories. Located in the deep Galactic South many thousands of light years away from Nova Terra. Sayshelle was home to one of the largest Naval bases and training centers in the Imperium.

Transferring with the rank of Ensign she was spent two years at the academy. Graduating with certification to fly assault craft, auxiliary craft, and larger ships up to cruisers. She was admitted into the Sayshelle Imperial Officers Academy in her second year and exited with the rank of Lieutenant. Her heavy course load took a toll on her however and she did attempt suicide more than once, possessing few real friends, and feeling distant from her family. However, the intervention of Valerian and Baldor managed to halt this activity. In an effort to keep her training on track they had her transferred to be tutored by one of the Imperium's Grand Admirals.

Increased the age abit and found some better pictures, but otherwise the app is the same:

Name: Johnathan Aetius
Nickname: "Blackjack" and "The Hero of Rigel IV"
Age: 93
Birth Date: 25,616
Gender: Male
Planet of Origin: Nova Terra
Race/Species: Genetically-modified human
Height: 6'2''
Weight: 170lbs
Physical Description or Image: Out of armor, In combat armor
Social Class: Though only minor nobility, the Aetii are highly devoted to military service, and are renowned for having produced some of the Imperium's finest officers spanning back countless generations.
Titles: High-General
Occupation: High-General in the Imperium Army
Hobbies/Pastimes: Enjoys studying military history, strategy, and tactics, as well as training, sparring, and most of all: war.
Talents/Skills: A brilliant strategist and tactician, exceptional swordsman, and a good shot.
Religious Beliefs: Adherent of the Fides Martii, a religion popular among some in the Imperial military which teaches that one can enter the paradise of Elysium through honorable conduct and glory acquired through battle.
Personality: An honorable, no-nonsense soldier through and through. He cares for little outside of battle and the men under his command, and couldn't give two-shits about politics except for when it interferes with his ability to do his duty. While he can be quite vocal about certain issues with his closest confidants in private, in public he has a reputation for being somewhat taciturn, preferring to speak with his actions more than his words. That said, he can say much while speaking little, and his men have learned to pay close attention to what he does have to say.
Biography: From the moment he was conceived, Johnathan Aetius was destined to become a soldier and leader of men. His father spared no expense in having him genetically-modified to be faster, smarter, and stronger than the average man for precisely that purpose; and his youth was devoted entirely to perfecting the art of war. In addition to studying military history, strategy, and tactics, the young Aetius was subjected to a variety of brutal combat techniques and martial arts forms, as well as training with a vast array of firearms and other weapons. Though skilled with a rifle, Aetius proved to be particularly adept as a swordsman, and after only a few years training was often able to even defeat his instructors with a blade.

An unfortunate side-effect of his genetic-modifications was that the increased metabolic rate that helped to make his stronger and faster also caused him to age more rapidly than the average human, so to offset the time lost to his genetics his father arranged for him to being his formal training at the Nova Terra Officer's Academy at the age of 14. The training was tough, but Aetius' father had seen that he was more than prepared for it. He routinely outperformed his compatriots in nearly all of his classes, and two years later graduated at the top of his class. His skills caught the eye of the Imperial Guard, who selected him for additional training with their organization. The training was excruciatingly brutal, and over the course of the year-long training program only half of the class lived to see graduation. Fortunately, Aetius was among those survivors, and thanks to his prior officer's training was commissioned into the Guard as a Lieutenant. As a graduation present, his father spent a small fortune on a prototype plasma blade so that his son could play to his strengths in the battles to come, and Aetius continues to wield that weapon to this day.

Eager to earn some glory for himself and his family, Aetius signed on to lead the most dangerous missions the Guard had to offer. Though many such missions had been written off as suicide runs, Aetius returned victorious from each assignment; resulting in a rapid rise through the ranks, and earning him the nickname "Blackjack." He reached the rank of Commander by the age of 38, but the further he rose through the ranks, the more he began to butt heads with his superiors. He didn't share the fanatical devotion to the Emperor that many in the Guard had, and where most would obey their orders unquestioningly, Aetius' strong sense of honor led to his conveniently having equipment failures when he was ordered to do things he considered dishonorable. Finally, when he was ordered to violently suppress a civilian protest, he decided he'd had enough and put in for an immediate transfer to the Imperial Army.

The Army was only too glad to take in someone with Aetius' record, and after transferring him in at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, he was placed in command of a Battalion. When Aetius arrived, he was appalled at what he considered to be a lack of discipline and poor training among the Battalion's grunts. He immediately devised his own training regimen based off of the Guard's training and the regimen his father had designed for him, and ordered every officer and soldier in the Battalion to participate. Though most hated Aetius at first (and some even talked of mutiny), when the Battalion was deployed to its first combat zone the men soon began to understand the training's value. Following their first major engagement, Aetius' Battalion suffered fewer casualties while inflicting more enemy fatalities than any other Battalion in the Sector Army. That he fought on the frontlines alongside his men throughout the entire engagement quickly earned him the respect of the officers and troops under him, and it wasn't long before he was promoted to the rank of Colonel.

As the years dragged on, Aetius continued to fight on the frontlines despite getting shot, stabbed, burned, blown up, and having the scars to show for it. This earned him the undying loyalty of his men, and helped him continue to rapidly rise through the ranks; reaching General at the age of 75 and continuing to mandate his elite training regimen for everyone in the Third Army which was placed under his command. At 81 he gained the greatest boon to his reputation during the Battle of Rigel IV. Though his Army had fought well, Aetius' requests for reinforcements fell on deaf ears, and he instead received orders to evacuate the planet and redeploy to a combat area deemed to be of greater strategic interest. That this would mean leaving the 10 million citizens of the Imperium living in the planet's capital at the mercy of their enemy evidently meant little to his superiors, and Aetius ended up suffering from one of his famous communications equipment malfunctions before he could confirm his orders. He did manage to call in a few favors before the equipment mysteriously broke down, and was able to get a transport fleet large enough to evacuate the Capital rerouted to their position, but it would take four days for them to arrive.

Aetius used every trick in the book to hold the enemy at bay, deploying all manner of traps and ambush tactics to whittle down their numbers and keep the fighting out of the Capital. Despite being outnumbered 10 to one, Aetius' soldiers fought with extraordinary courage and valor, and with Aetius leading them from the front, managed to overcome the odds and kept the city safe until the transports could arrive to evacuate them and the civilians to safety. Fortunately, the fact that no one could definitively prove that Aetius ever received the confirmed order to evacuate the planet kept him from being court-martialed, and when the media learned of what happened from the rescued civilians, they quickly jumped on the story: proclaiming Aetius the "Hero of Rigel IV" and praising the bravery of the Imperium soldiers who gave their lives to protect the citizens of the Imperium. The story provided a much needed boost to the Imperium's morale, and after the Emperor himself praised the Third Army's actions, Aetius' superiors quickly changed their tune and competed to take credit for ordering Aetius to defend the planet. Ultimately, one of the Emperor's Joint Chiefs won out, and to try and make everything look more convincing, he awarded Aetius with the highest honor that could be bestowed in the Imperium military, and promoted him to the rank of High-General.

Placed in command of an entire Sector Army, Aetius proceeded to implement his training regimen for the millions of troops under his command, and over the course of the last two years has refined them into the one of the finest fighting forces in the entire Imperium. His actions at Rigel IV helped to cement his soldiers' loyalty for him, and as he continued to fight alongside them in spite of his high rank, he inspired in many a devotion nearly as fierce as the Guards have for their Emperor. This has led to a concern among some Imperium brass that the men under Aetius' command may be more loyal to their General than they are to the Emperor, and some of his more envious rivals have even begun to demand that Aetius be removed from his command, lest he try and use his soldiers to make a play for the Imperial Throne. For his part, Aetius has done everything in his power to avoid the political mess the Imperium now finds itself in, and has focused his time and attention on that greatest of human endeavors: war.

Ooh, I'm gonna be a Xeno warlord freedom fighter who despises humanity and everything about the Imperium, trying to forge a new independent state along the Imperial periphery. They're also going to be a colony of worms puppeteering a human skeleton.

Name: Lord Konrid Helanzier
Nickname: The Iron Fist
Age: 220
Birth Date: September 27, 25,489
Gender: Male
Planet of Origin: Austrich Prime
Race/Species: Austerling
Height: 5' 12"
Weight: 198 lbs
Physical Description or Image: Konrid is not a man blessed with good looks, along hawkish nose adorns a face prematurely wrinkled by the actions of rain and wind and sun. He has a head of grey thinning hair, however, his most distinctive feature is his eyes. A light, piercing shade a grey that has caused some to feel discomforted under his glare.
Social Class: Nobility
Titles: Lord of Austrich Prime, Gergerad, Vandor Segma and Protector of the Dolthanian Territories
Occupation: Officially he is the Emperor's representative to the Perpherial planet of Austrich Prime and the various other worlds under it, however, he has ruled for most of his life without any Imperial control or instruction making him a de facto independent entity.
Hobbies/Pastimes: Any mental exercise, Konrid often spend hours discussing problems of a military nature with his generals and admirals. He also enjoys the arts, often going to theaters in the city of Austberg with his wife. Like any noble, he also hunts and goes folconeering and hones his personal combat skills fencing and target shooting.
Talents/Skills: A talented military strategist and administrator Konrid is also known to be a rather crack shot with a rifle and an excellent rider.
Religious Beliefs: Konrid, like other Austerlings, believe in the Faith of the Light, a native-born faith the worships a single creative deity known as the Light. Opposite of him is the Darkness who will return to consume the world. The religion teaches that those who hold the moral laws of the Faith will pass on the Other Realm and join their forefathers in waiting for the end of the world when the Light returns to the world and defeats the Darkness in the Last War creating a paradise for all His followers.
Personality: A hard man with an unbending will, Konrid is not one to make jest or show much humor.
Biography:
By rights, Konrid should not have become the ruler of Austrich. Born the fourth son of Hardic Helanzier, the line of succession seemed like it would be a clear path to his oldest brother. Like the youngest children of many noble houses, Konrid's future was planned for him. He would join the Austrich Military Academy at the age ten where he excelled in his studies, and by the time he graduated at the age of 20, he was given a commision and a unit to command, the 1st Austrich Grenadiers. During this time, his father had passed away and his brother Hardric XX Helanzier had assumed the throne. It was a smooth transfer of power and many believed that peace would last, Konrid's father had subdued the various pirate and xeno factions that surrounded the Dutchy and many thought that their enemies had been put in their place for good.

This was wrong. An alliance of xenos calling themselves the Brotherhood of Retribution would attack just 10 years in the reign of Hardric. The Austerlings mobilized as quickly as the could, fending off several probing thrusts by their enemy before their main force was assembled for a counter-attack on the alien foe. Konrid sees much of the front line action in the war, personally leading his company to victory many times. However, it was his victory on the planet Metzier that would supplant his fame. Metzier is an Austerling world on the frontier of the Dutchy, one of the Brotherhoods many probes would eventually take this world, the only to fall to the enemy in the entire war.

The Liberation of Metzier would prove to be a long slugging match. A meat grinder on a planetary scale. Both sides became heavily entrenched on the world, with neither gaining any ground though the fighting was ferocious. The 1st Austrich Grenadiers where assigned to the planet in order to form the spearhead of yet another attempt to dislodge the enemy. Konrid not only completed his mission, but he also exceeded it, plunging nearly a hundred kilometers into enemy territory and breaking the back of the enemy forces on Metzier. At the age of 35 Konrid was a war hero. He would be promoted on the field to the rank of Brigadier General shortly after.

When the war ended with a decisive victory for the Austerlings many credited the victory to Konrid's skill as a commander and not to any of his brothers. This was especially vexing for Hardric. Konrid's three older brothers conspired to have there brother killed, but chance and timing proved to be there downfall. On the world of Gergerad, a workers strike had quickly turned into an insurrection. Konrid was taken with bringing the planer back to order. Many thought he would come with nothing but guns and death, but instead, he offered clemency and pardons to those who stood down their arms and promised that the issues that had led to the strikes in the first place would be resolved. Many decided it would be better to lay down there arms, the reputation of Konrid's service during the War of the Brotherhood served as much of a deterrent as the guns and armor he had brought. Those who refused to surrender were hunted down and executed. For three years he placed the planet under a military government until Hardic recalled him back to Austrich Prime.

His next assignment was as a garrison commander on some nameless backwater world. Here he would serve until the age of 79. While he was an assignment, the state of the government had worsened. Hardic was more content to eat and drink than to govern. Corruption was rampant, the Dutchy had begun to reflect the galaxy around them. His other brothers had also followed suit. All the while the xeno outside began to look at this and began to sharpen their swords. Konrid could only stay away for so long. He and loyal elements of the army and navy would return to the core of the Dutchy and demand that Hardic step down as Lord. Hardic refused, and so Konrid was forced to invade his homeworld. There was little fighting on the planet, the army garrison there served under Konrid when he was a Brigadier General. Hedric was executed along with Konrid's other brother and at the age of 80, he ruled the Dutchy.

He would take a wife for himself. Dutchess Elitha et Varil of the Dolthan, oldest daughter of Duke Modrit ad Varil. And, for the next few decades, peace would reign. That was until the death of Modrit. In Modrit's will, he declared his daughter to be his heir. The lords of Dolthan chose one of there own as the duke. Konrid declared war on behalf of his wife. Thus began the Subjugation of Doltha. For ten years he fought the Lord of Doltha for control of the planets therein. In the end, the military might of Austrich won. Since than, Konrids has spent his time making sure that his realm will be stable after his death, grooming his heir to rule as he has. But uncertainty from the core of the Empire can reach out to the periphery, and one can never be sure just what or who may come.

If Great House or a leader of a Faction like a SAS, Colony, Et Cetera
Name of Territory: The Grand Dutchy Austrich-Doltha
Government: Despotic Feudal Hegemony.
Capital World: Austrich Prime, City of Austberg
Population:109 billion souls.
Economy: The Grand Dutchy, being located on the Periphery has found trade difficult with the rest of the Imperium. This has lead to the need for a very diversified top-down economy wherein the central authority on Austrich dictates what is mines, planted or built and in what quantities. However, most worlds not under the direct control of the Helanzier family are left to there own economic prerogative of the vassel houses. These worlds must pay taxes to Austrich once every year in order to keep the privilge of economic self-determination.
Culture: Austerich and its accompanying world are a very militarized society, with most males between the ages of 17-30 serving mandatory two-year terms of service with the military of the Dutchy. Schools resemble boot camps in their regime and in general society is one of people who lead and people who follow. To an outsider, this highly regimented almost cast like system seems outdated and almost anachronistic, but on the Austerich is a rich land surrounded by many enemies.

Most people in the space controlled by Austrich are descended of the original settlers who came some 10,000 years prior. Over the course of that time, some genetic mutations have made the Austerlings a distinct subspecies of humanity. Most, if not all Austerlings have pale grey eyes and grey or silver hair. The Austerlings display and above average stamina, running for extreme distances comes easily to an Austerling whos muscles have developed to be far denser and require less oxygen than a baseline human. The introduction to these mutations has been debated, with some suggesting that the first settlers chose gene therapy to alter themselves before arriving on Austerich.
Social Structure: While the culture of the Austerlings is indeed militaristic, that does not mean there is no social mobility. Indeed, many people move around the social ladder all the time due to there merit, bribes or familial connections. This has lead a meritocracy amongst the landless lower classes. The recent rise of a middle class on many worlds has upset some of the old ways, with some world economics now having to account for the idea of key industries being in the hands of privet citizens. However, at the top of society is a rigged and unwavering nobility that show no signs of giving up power.
Territorial Size:
Worlds of House Helanzier
Austerich Prime: A continental world and capital of the Dutchy, population 7.5 billion.

Gergerad: A once continental world, it has since given way to vast manufactories and cities, population 10 billion.
Golstied: Gergerad's first moon is also a massive ship yarr, building the ships of the Austrich Naval Force
Meliger: A minig moon and Gergerad's second moon.

Vandor Segma: A agricultural world of the continental type, this world provides most of the food supply for Gergerad, population 2 billion
Vandor Segma I: This moon of Vandor Segma us a mining station and has a population of roughly 2000.

Worlds of House Von Metz

Metz: An arid world that provides Hous Von Metz with ores and the Dutchy with some of the moist elite soldiers. Population 6 billion

Delia: A terraformed world, Delia is on the outskirts of Austerling space and is therefore a fortress world, most rocks that can fit a weapon have one, population 3 billion.

Worlds of House Gorgiski

Wallchia Prime: Wallchia Prime is the house seat of House Gorgiski, it has no real specialty and as a continental world provides the outlying area with food and manufactured goods. Troops from the world are known for there bravery. Population 6 billion.

Gazdink: A rebellious world at best, Gazdink is a terraformed world that boasts a high mineral content and is, therefore, one of the largest producers of ores on the Dutchy. Population 5 billion.

Merava: An alpine world with soaring mountains, Meravian soldiers are often found in military units that specialize in tough terrain. Population 3 billion.

Worlds of House Morkstad
Melkar: A continental world, it serves as the seat of power for House Morkstad. Population 6 billion

Kille Segma: An artic world, people have become attracted to its rich ore deposits. Population 2 billion

Worlds of the Protecotate

Doltha: A Gia world and home of the Dolthans, this world in know under the protection of Austrich and directly ruled over by Konrid. Population 5 billion.

Information on the other worlds of the Protectorate will come when and if they are needed. The total population of the Doltanaian Territories is around 20 billion and hold nearly ten more worlds of note.

Military and Security Forces: The military is split between two branches, the Austrich-Doltha Navy and the Grand Army of Austrich. The navy is made up of around 300 combat ready ships of varying classes and totals around 400 million persons. The Grand Army is the pride and joy of the Austerlings, highly disciplined and lead by well educated and trained officers this is perhaps the finest professional army in the Periphery. Boasting a strength of near 600 billion the Army uses both air and ground forces to accomplish its mission. It is alos to be noted that the Navy is considered a lower entity than the Army, with Army officers both commisioned and NCO's haveing more authority than there Naval counterparts.
I will finish sometime this week.

Are we able to take any liberties with these Apps?
Great House:
Name of Territory:
Nic Ascendency

Economy: Manorial Guild Economics; Agricultural and Foodstuff Yield, Scientific/Corporate Research and Development, Xeno Slavery, & Illicit Blackmarket Activities.

[Government] Imperium Aligned
Centralized Hereditary Fiefdom (Federal/Planetary)
Big-Man Technate Tradeocracy (Local/Advisory)
This ascendancy is ruled by the head of the family; overseeing internal political matters within their great house, navigating external political dealings among the Imperial Empire, and overseeing the collective territorial holdings of the Nic dynasty. The head's rule is unquestioned with absolute autocratic and dictatorial power, often blurring the line between politics and family with their decision making. The Head will have several advisors, often heads of their industry, but may also include ones immediate family or nobles. Under the Head are the Lord Governors, one for ever star under the families control of which they administrate. Further beneath them are the Prolocutor Generals, who act as moderators among the Sides and between their Lord Governor. During times of war, LGs will act as military general led by their LG in the defense of their system. It should be noted that a Side is not a person, but a planetary spheres of influence similar to districts/provinces. A planet will be divided up to eight sides or at least two; the territory of which stretches deep into the planets core and up into space limited only by the planets gravitational pull or the closest major orbital body (whichever is shortest). These Sides are often administrated by the top-most gentleman class; titans of industry, trade/business moguls, and elite scientists, but may also be run by lesser nobles. These men rules as needed, asserting the LG's will.
History: The House of Nic /nēCH/ was founded sometime during the late-Third Interregnum, being one of the last houses awarded for merit on the battlefield (for that period). The conflict in question that saw its rise was against the Noc empire, which saw fighting so brutal it was left to a single man. The enemy was lead by a race is nocturnal pseudo-men who stalked their enemies like creatures of the night, beings which could emit a shrouding smokescreen from glands similar to what blocked out the star on their night world of origin. The sole survivor of this conflict, Nic, was believed to be of Noble blood but records from this time are sparse. Holding no prior sirname or title- It is believe he was a bastard son, a clone, or just changed his name considering the Nic-Noc coincidence. Regardless, the House of Nic only saw a brief existence before Baelan the 1st reformed the Great Houses. Nic found himself in a rat-race with other minor nobles, allying themselves upward, under a confederated house. Almost a thousand (or so) years later the Nic bloodline rises to prominence during the Magellanic Conflict, but still remains in obscurity even after Pax Imperialis is re-established. Peace reigns over the now Xhreso Dynasty, which established the tradition of merchant fleets in the year 17,017. Unfortunately this peace was ended during the Kysteria Crisis, launching the dynasty into a anti-religious crusade for over two thousand years until its end during the rule of Polaran the 1st. Political navigation and marital union saw the climax of the Nic bloodline finally take root in the year 21,414. The Nic Faction rules without issue until it's dominance begins to sunset, plauged by other poorly integrated splinter factions that all want the same outcome. Desperate purges and a pyrrhic civilwar start during 23,460 until it ends in a solidified standing 441 years later in 23,901. Pax Imperialis declines rapidly in the now Nic Ascendency; corruption flourishing wherever a power vacuum was left from infighting. Aid under Valerian the 5th helps relieve issues with this ascendancies criminal underbelly, though so did his disappearance. With potential heir Verina now a member of Terraism (a former enemy during the Kysteria Crisis and follow crusade) the Nic Ascendancy begins to rally behind a message that brought their bloodline to prominence, killing religious fundamentalist. Highlighting the failures of the Perdatus Gulf, a conflict the Nic could not partake in, the ascendancy effectively rallies much needed internal support by the year 25,670. The Nic Ascendancy, year 25,691, no longer accepts the legitimacy of the Imperium- viewing the Imperial Government as under siege & sedition from the same enemy under Kysteria the 3rd's rule.

Preparations for an imperial civil war of liberation are made.

Tag! I am going for the Imperial Secretary for Demesne Management. He manages the vast amount of planets personally held by the emperor, and sells them to private investors for profit. It is a huge market for speculation, and a large revenue producer for the empire.
The name's James. James Usari. Well, my name is not actually James Usari, so don't bother actually looking it up, but it'll do for now.

Name: [Blood/Water]-[Parent/Guide] of the Seventh [Cycle/Life/Era] (Rough translation of the phenomes used in their name, which can only be expressed via pheromones)
Nickname: Redfeather, the Great Xeno
Age: Their current (seventh) incarnation of Redfeather has existed for eleven years. Said incarnation has memories dating back to 48 years ago.
Birth Date: The earliest incarnation that they can remember formed on February 13th 25,661
Gender: N/A
Planet of Origin: Adlivun V, referred to as "Cold-Deep-Churn" in Feather Worm Patois
Race/Species: Feather Worm colony
Height: 5'8 ft
Weight: 80 lbs
Physical Description or Image: Redfeather consists of a human skeleton, covered in a latticework of thin red and white tendrils. Redfeather's torso and the back of their head are adorned with slender reddish feathery structures used to absorb oxygen from the surrounding environment, lending them their nickname. Redfeather tends to wear scavenged Imperial armour, underneath a long black wool coat stolen from an Imperial Colonel. Their current body has a couple of cybernetic enhancements designed to make up for their species' natural weaknesses. Specifically, they have a cybernetic eye (personally stolen from an Imperial soldier) affixed in their left eye socket that allows them to see in the visible spectrum, servomotors in their arms and legs to enhance their strength to peak human levels, and a speaker embedded in their jaw that allows them to translate their thoughts into audible speech in the Imperial standard language.
Social Class: Legally considered a non-sapient animal.
Titles: Leader of the Free Xeno Forces
Occupation: Rebel leader/Criminal/Warlord
Hobbies/Pastimes: Memory games, reading, marksmanship
Talents/Skills: Excellent shot, competent swordsperson(?), skilled space tactician, very charismatic
Religious Beliefs: Atheist
Personality: The current incarnation of Redfeather is decisive, hates the feeling of being powerless, and is charismatic and extraverted. They lack some of the empathy that their previous incarnations were known for. Redfeather likes to appear affable, but has a stubborn streak and refuses to compromise on their beliefs.
Biography: Redfeather is a colony of "Feather Worms", microscopic amphibious alien creatures that are non-sapient under ordinary circumstances, but which can create a sapient being if they form a gestalt large enough. Feather Worms are detritovores which burrow into skeletons in order to eat the lipids stored within them. They also use the bones they colonize as the base for large ambulatory colonial organisms. Each colony represents a unique individual, but if the worms used in the creation of a new colony mostly originate in a single other colony, the new colony will likely inherit some memories and personality traits from the old colony. For this reason, multiple colonies can sometimes be considered different "incarnations" of a single individual.

Feather Worms are native to Adlivun V, a cold and oceanic Beta Class world in the inner Periphery. The Feather Worms first encountered the Imperium in their equivalent of the late Bronze Age, during the campaigns of Alexandyr I. Adlivun V was conquered and incorporated into the region known as the "Alexandrian Periphery". One of Alexandyr's commanders gave the Feather Worms their name, based on the feather-like structures that form on the outside of the skeletons they colonize.

The Feather Worms were initially subject to standard Imperial cultural assimilation protocols. This changed when, after Alexandyr left the Adlivun system, a large group of worms attempted to steal Imperial weaponry and stage a revolt. Vastly underestimating the resources the Imperium, the Feather Worms were decimated in less than a day. In spite of this, they continued to revolt every time the Imperial fleet's attention was turned elsewhere, until finally Alexandyr killed 70% of the planet's population. In punishment for these revolts, the Feather Worms were declared legally non-sapient organisms, officially due to their method of cognition being so unlike humanity's. They were driven off the surface of their homeworld into the deep ocean by human colonists, and from then on they were routinely abducted for use as slave labour. The worms who escaped to the sea routinely raided the human settlements, which the human colonists would respond to by culling their slave populations. Due to Adlivun V's irrelevance and distance from the core of the Imperium, this state of affairs was never undone, even under the most Xeno-friendly emperors, as the planet was more-or-less forgotten about.

In late 25,660 the Holy Orders of Terra arrived in the Adlivun system, preaching the extermination of the Feather Worms, as they were "degenerate and inherently deceitful beings, ill-equipped for serving the Sacred Human Species, and thus unworthy to exist". Purges were conducted against the surface Feather Worm communities, and the planet descended into chaos. Some of the individual worms from Feather Worm colonies killed in these purges survived, and some of the surviving worms managed to coalesce into new colonies. One such colony formed around a human skeleton buried in a cemetery. This colony had some of their predecessor's knowledge, but none of their memories. They were quickly caught up in the violence, but managed to hide with a group of Feather Worm colonies seeking to find a way to escape the planet. The leader of the group was caught and killed by Terraists, leaving the newly-born colony the new leader of the growing group. This colony coordinated a mass evacuation from Adlivun, managing to save first thousands and then millions of Feather Worms and kill thousands of Terraists through guerrilla warfare. The colony consisted mostly of red worms and thus had bright red feathers, and was nicknamed "Redfeather" by their human opponents. Redfeather adopted the nickname for themselves, considering it an honour that they were so significant that the humans had felt the need to give them a specific identifier.

Redfeather and a few million of their followers left the Adlivun system on a fleet of stolen ships and disappeared into the Periphery. Initially, Redfeather hoped to rally the Feather Worms and lead them on a campaign to retake Adlivun V, but as the months went by and their dire situation became more apparent, Redfeather abandoned this goal. Instead, their main priority became sustaining the exiled fleet, and they took to raiding Imperial supply lines in order to do so. Redfeather also raided the other Xeno worlds in the Periphery that the Holy Orders were conducting pogroms on, evacuating Xenos offworld and absorbing them into their army. Soon the Feather Worms became a plurality among Redfeather' followers, and their priority thus shifted from keeping the Feather Worms safe to forming a pan-Xeno alliance against human oppression. As Redfeather's infamy and resources grew, Terraists began to refer to them as the "Great Xeno", the ultimate embodiment of the degeneracy of non-humans.

During one of these raids, Redfeather was shot and killed by a sniper, their worms dispersing and their skeleton falling apart. The Imperial soldiers sent to do so celebrated and sent a message to Lord Protector Verina proclaiming the death of the Great Xeno. They did so prematurely - Redfeather's followers were able to collect most of Redfeather's worms during a controlled retreat, and managed to use them to form a new colony around the skeleton of a dead Imperial soldier. This new colony had most of the memories and personality of Redfeather, and thus considered themselves a new incarnation of them. The resurrected Redfeather became known to the Imperium when they raided an Imperial dockyard in the inner Periphery and massacred the human colonists there.

Redfeather continued their campaign against the Imperium for almost four more decades in a similar manner. They had no ambitions greater than keeping themselves and their followers alive, and moved their base of operations between a variety of abandoned and inhospitable planets as the Imperium searched for them. Over the course of this time, Redfeather would die and be resurrected five more times, although they would lose memories and become more and more unlike their original self each time. Redfeather took up simple memory games in order to help reinforce their ability to remember information and thus preserve themselves better each time they died. Fortunately for Redfeather, the increasingly destabilization of the Imperium kept the Navy from annihilating the rebels entirely, as they could never focus their attention solely on the Periphery.

During the Wars of Religion, Redfeather's took advantage of the chaos and openly seceded from the Imperium, claiming dominion over the Alexandrian Periphery and the Xeno worlds within it. Redfeather reformed the various cells of guerrilla fighters, pirates, and scouts loyal to them into an actual army, introducing tactics and standardized training that mimicked the Imperial military. They declared their new army the "Free Xeno Forces", or FXF. In 25,997, Redfeather lead their fleet into the inner Periphery in pursuit of the Imperial Armada assigned to putting down their revolt. The two fleets engaged in battle in the Naupaktos system, but the Imperial Armada was significantly larger than Redfeather's intel suggested, and they were crushed. Redfeather's sixth incarnation was killed in the battle, and less than half of their worms were recovered to form their seventh incarnation. Due to this crushing defeat, the Imperial military was able to maintain a presence in the Alexandrian Periphery, despite forcing to tacitly acknowledge the independence of many other breakaway states. Redfeather has spent the last eleven years recovering from the Battle of Naupaktos, rebuilding the FXF and reasserting their authority over the other rebel leaders, as many of them had lost respect for Redfeather. Currently residing in a hidden base on a Yota Class moon with a thick atmosphere, Redfeather prepares to make their second bid for an independent Xeno state.

Great House or a leader of a Faction like a SAS, Colony, Et Cetera
Name of Territory: The Free Xeno Forces (FXF)
Government: Military junta lead by Redfeather and various other commanders appointed by them. Redfeather has promised to institute democratic governance once independence from the Imperium has been achieved, but many of the powerful warlords loyal to them disagree on the specific details of this new government.
Capital World: Currently based off of Mictlan, a Yota Class moon of a gas giant with a thick, poisonous atmosphere and significant tectonic activity. The several million people living there are prepared to convert their homes into spaceships and evacuate the moon in less than six hours, in the event that the base is discovered by an Imperial fleet.
Population: About 13 billion Xenos are currently actively supporting Redfeather in one way or another, while around 63 billion Xenos within the Alexandrian Periphery are more likely to aid the FXF than they are to aid the Imperium.
Economy: The primary source of wealth for the FXF is raiding human colonies and shipping lanes, the arms trade, and funding from wealthy Imperial citizens who are secretly sympathetic to their cause.
Culture: The Free Xeno Forces include hundreds of species from hundreds of worlds, and are thus quite culturally diverse. However, the Imperial Standard language acts as a Lingua Franca, and some of the rebels have adopted some aspects of Feather Worm culture out of respect for Redfeather. Generally, waging war in the name of a good cause is seen as the highest virtue, and humans are despised.
Social Structure: Generally somewhat meritocratic, with skilled commanders being promoted and placed in charge of larger cells, and unskilled commanders being put where they can't hurt anyone. However, this varies from cell to cell, and some of the cells maintain the pre-Imperial social hierarchy of their predominant species.
Territorial Size: Aside from small hidden bases distributed throughout the Periphery, the FXF don't control any significant territory. However, the following ostensibly Imperial planets have populations that are largely loyal to them, to the extent that Imperial soldiers fear for their lives if they enter heavily populated areas.

- Septima Mater (Epsilon Class planet, home to a large and diverse Xeno population despite being founded by humans)

- Naakh (Gamma Class moon, homeworld of the Naakhiran, a species of subterranean insects that once controlled a large empire)

- Adlivun V (Beta Class planet, homeworld of the Feather Worms)

- Bokesh (Alpha Class planet, inhabited by an ancient colony of humans that were conquered and culturally assimilated by the Naakhiran and thus consider themselves separate from humanity)

- Mictlan (Yota Class moon, inhabited in secret by Redfeather themselves and their loyal followers)

- 72 other Beta, Epsilon, and Gamma worlds within the periphery, which each have at least 200 million Xenos living on them

- 1762 assorted Delta, Cheti, Zeta, and Yota Class worlds with extremely small populations, mostly miners and military personnel.
Military and Security Forces: Of those loyal to Redfeather, about 13 billion are actively fighting in their war against the Imperium. Of those 13 billion, about 4.5 billion are marines or sailors in the FXF fleet, about 3.5 billion are guerrilla fighters embedded in civilian populations fighting to sabotage the Imperial war effort and deny territory to them, and the remaining 5 billion are in logistics/medicine/engineering/etc. The FXF mimic the Imperium both in technology and tactics, as they obtain both by stealing from the Imperium. Most of the ships in the FXF fleet are civilian vessels refitted with guns and armour, or Imperial warships salvaged and repaired after raids.

Yes, I always allow people to add more to the apps. Just not less than what I have to provide a base minimum.

He manages the vast amount of planets personally held by the emperor, and sells them to private investors for profit. It is a huge market for speculation, and a large revenue producer for the empire.

Sure

No worries, IC won't launch for a bit to give people time to filter in and drop apps.
