Shackles of Amber
With the recent fall of the Anowan military industrial complex and the reliance on a manufactured insurrection to prop up it's economy the near by satellite state of Grunalia reaches a breaking point during a new election. Obviously rigged, people took to the streets in protest, things quickly turned bloody as officers started using tear gas without regard for civilian safety. Less than a month later, lehtal force would be used on rioters in similar riots in the second and third largest cities in the nation. Both turning into veritable war zones over night.
Years of racial tensions, corrupt politics, and a suppression of rights because a deal made nearly a generation ago has had a level of pent up anger and frustration blew out.
In the north, arms factories have been seized, people are being butchered, and anyone not subscribing to the agenda of a fascist dictator are shot and shoved into a mass grave, no matter their ethnicity or religion.
In the east, cities numbering in the thousands, or millions are nothing more than rubble strewn warzones, and pockets of the government and freedom fighters fight tooth and nail over city block after city block.
In the south, hamlets are being seized or razed as marauders see fit, women and children taken into camps and kept for fates worse than death as the men are killed and left for the animals.
In the west, old societies shuffle their people into long forgotten cave systems in both fear and preperation for what's to come, towns left abandonned, outcasts left to wander, and nearly a whole region suddenly gone.
It has been a month since the downfall of nearly a whole nation started, and as of now, the nation is as fractured and broken as a plate dropped off of a high rise. The ISCF is moving to make an attempt to patch up what they can, and Anowan Cavalry are trying to keep the situation contained. But a conspiracy thought already dead is ready to bring itself out of the grave.
