Their President Vehlullai Harar described the state ideology as “State Socialist”, although surplus value was still extracted from the workers and a market economy was in place.They also distanced themselves from the anti religious tendency of socialists worldwide. While still remaining secular.

Kumarinadu was part of the Non Aligned Movement starting from 1961. But socialism as an ideology was generally respected. After the end of the Hararhist regime the state socialist ideology had given way to more economically liberal and usually socially conservative politicians and policies. But the state socialism of the past remains popular with a large minority of the population. Mostly elderly people but some active nationalist youth groups, including the youth wing of the still extant KEP, do as well.

But communists aren't persecuted either because there is no armed force or police in the Territory. Some residents are sympathetic to (non-Marxian) socialism, but with the lack of an army and a police force, it is impossible to enforce any economic system other than free market capitalism, which is the natural state of things.

Communism is understood to be both the inevitable result of capitalism's internal contradictions (well, either communism or annihilation) and a desirable state of affairs that should be actively strived for.

The tendency of radical parties to attract extremists has done in numerous non-socialist parties, and none are significant players in Mevraqi politics.

In all seriousness, this country is neutral on these ideologies. You won't get persecuted, but it's not a common ideology either.
