But wait! There is more football yet. The beloved Campionato Esportiva is back, and everyone is raring to go. The best team in the multiverse has been decided, but which football team is currently the best in Esportiva? Sign up, and make sure you don't miss out on that crown of glory.

Every user can enter up to 2 nations in the Campionato Esportiva, but all your puppets MUST be declared, or you risk losing your place in the CE for both teams.
All participant nations MUST have been resident in Esportiva at the time of this post. The only exception to this rule is if the nation was a significant former nation of the region.

A BID FOR CAMPIONATO ESPORTIVA 23

The Independent Football Association offers a bid for rights to host the 23rd Campionato Esportiva within one of the most historic Esportivan nations. Please find details of the above nation and information regarding the proposed tournament below.

Apox Information & Experience

Apox is a unicameral republic found in southern Esportiva. Previously a major democratic power in the region, Apox is known for having strong civil and political rights and a relatively strong economy. The country is now its seventh decade of democracy following the first Apoxian Civil War which is seen by many as the true founding of Apox, and is currently ruled by Lorcan Oberhausen of the Free Party. It has all the footballing infrastructure required for a host nation, and while it has been a number of years since a major tournament was hosted in Apox, many of the services required to hold a tournament are still in place. The capital Dwile has expanded its main airport to the North and set up one to the West of the city, while rail and road links around the country continue to improve.

In a footballing sense, Apox is re-emerging into the footballing world, having recently qualified for its first World Cup finals tournament since returning from hiatus. However, the nation participated in 14 straight World Cups from WC61-74, qualifying eight times and reaching the Round of 16 on three separate occasions, before returning for World Cup 78. Additionally, the nation has participated in 16 Campionato Esportivas, winning the competition three times.

Apox has extensive hosting experience, the most prominent being the successful hosting of two World Cups, World Cup 69 with The Holy Empire and World Cup 73 with The Royal Kingdom of Quebec. In addition to this, Apox has hosted a BoF (50 with Saugeais), a CoH (56 with The Licentian Isles) and three Campionato Esportivas (4, 8 & 12). Away from international football, Apox has hosted three cricket tournaments and over six years worth of domestic competitions in football, rugby and cricket, now running the domestic rugby union competition, RUCT.

Scorination

I am proposing to utilise xkoranate with the SQIS function for scorinating this tournament. I plan to include additive style modifiers in the usual range of -5 to +5.

Format

Currently there are 21 nations signed up for this tournament. I propose the following formats for a variety of differing numbers of participants:

24 nations: 4 groups of 6, with the top two from each group progressing to Quarter-Finals
28 nations: 7 groups of 4, with the top two and two best third placed teams progressing to Round of 16
30 nations: 6 groups of 5, with the top two and four best third placed teams progressing to Round of 16
32 nations: 8 groups of 4, with the top two progressing to Round of 16

Group stages will be a single round robin format.

RP Bonus

RP Bonus will be awarded based off a mixture of quality and quantity. You will not need to write a novella per matchday to gain a good RP bonus (and indeed poorly written long RPs will not be judged particularly highly) but again, even a Shakespearean two line RP would struggle to gain a high bonus. It is a balance between the two, with an emphasis definitely on quality. RP Bonus will be cumulative and non-degrading.

RP Theme

I will be providing information about the weather and national updates in Apox each matchday which may affect the playing conditions of the matches in the host nations. Participating nations will be free to incorporate this information into their RP, but not incorporating this information will have no detrimental effect to RP bonus. I aim purely to provide additional information about the host nation which might help with RP.
