When Gods Walk The Mortal Plane

Lenu, God of Creation

In the beginning there was Lenu. The universe was him, and he was the universe. All entangled together in a mass of heat and energy. The stuff of creation. His form was that of a pulsing light of brightness unfathomable. He was the god of creation. And Lenu, in His infinite wisdom, saw that creation, true creation, could not be guided by a single god. So Lenu drew on His powers of creation, to guide the universe in a brave new direction, towards greater glory than even he could foresee. From His light sprang forth the first gods. There was Fate, who would be The End Bringer, there was Tordal lightseeker. There were the brothers Kona and Kavna. Many and more gods spilled forth in His divine radiance. Arkana and Titan, Ballum and Faxlous. More and many until the universe burst with divinity. And this please Lenu a great deal.

The universe was a blank slate, and into these gods Lenu imbued His power, such that they could bend the slate to their whim. And finally, Lenu rested.

CONCEPTS

The first gods had finally been born from Lenu’s glorious light, from him spilled forth concepts, and dominion over them given to the gods. War, conflict, violence, these were given dominion of to Ballum, Kallig, and Violentius. All three were similar, yet all three were different from each other, each of them created uniquely. Time and fate. In time, you would meet your fate, such things were given to Fate, who was also known as the End Bringer. Firm stone, smooth desert sand, towering mountains, to Erraknh. Disease... A disgusting thing, yet an important concept in life and death, this was given to Nurgle. Life and death, black and white, ying and yang, The Pale Knight, or Fate? Beautiful thing, fertile ones, glorious light. Xiyatsu?

Where do the dead go? Lenu spilled forth yet another one. Kavna? Of the Afterlife. Keen on Agriculture and Medicine. What is the fey? Blue, so much blue. Wet. Water. Ocean. Earyende and Mornenion, or perhaps Savarian? I do not know. Innovation, to Kallig, Knowledge, to Tordal? They go hand in hand, but perhaps are different? The concept of many. Many... Plenty. The concept of being alright, being free from disease. Vitality. To Tordal as well. Chaos, Walpurgis, and Faxlous? Chaos is, chaos... It makes sense to have it be so conflicted. But Walpurgis was of the Messengers, whilst Faxlous was akin to that of Ballum, Kallig, and Violentius.

I looked upon these concepts, and lo, from Lenu’s light I was brought forth. From mere idea to a functional being. Me, I am Yuukame, this name bestowed upon me by Lenu. What was in between life and death? Was it a border? Border...

And then I saw, how different each one was, how their domains had borders, and how I felt an affinity to them.

I feel sleepy, I wanna sleep in my castle. Oh? Where did that castle come from? Whatever... So... Tired... Need... Bed...

Xiyatsu, Goddess of Beauty, Fertility and Light

Coming into existence was a strange thing. You did not remember being nothing, but there was a line where memory and awareness simply stopped. She did not like this. This... Void, this emptiness, this darkness. It was vile, disgusting, anathema to her very being in its simple existence. It needed something, anything, to fill it, to drive it away, to drive it away-

Yes. She... She could push this darkness away too, that was in her nature too, to drive away the darkness, to drive it to the farthest reaches of creation, to banish it from where it could not menace her anymore. And so, in silence, she set to work. It was not difficult; light was her, and she was light. It was akin to giving birth, but not at the same time, somewhere between that and an amputation but where nothing was lost from one's self.

She looked upon her... Child? Yes, that was the right word. This was hers. And so she set the ball of light in place, leaving it there and admiring it, yellow and white and gold amidst the black void. It was beautiful. She would make it her home.

But it was also lonely. And so she carefully carved flecks of it off, scattering them off into the void as their own little pinpricks of light in the void, making sure that it retained that perfect sphere as the smaller flecks halted at her command.

She looked around and what she had made, and saw that it was beautiful, the darkness being driven back. And she smiled a small, satisfied smile as she entered her first ball of light. It was to be her home, into which darkness could never tread to blight her again.

Arkana, Goddess of Magic and Theft

That was... interesting.
The goddess Arkana appeared fully formed, suddenly existent after not being so before. A great domain of emptiness stretched around her to infinity, with only Arkana and her fellow deities to fill the void. Out of nowhere, the stars of Xiyatsu popped into view. Arkana was mesmerized by the beauty of these motes of light, taking a moment to admire their beauty before settling her gaze on Xiyatsu's first creation.
She spread her senses to all domains of Lenu's creation, feeling the powers of each god and goddess. They felt distant, but... tangible. As if she could reach out and snatch them.
"I'll be borrowing these..." She murmured, and snatched away a sliver of each power as she needed. Her hands became a blur as balls of metal and rock flashed into view, revolving slowly around the Sun. Some were close, some were far, some were covered in gas, some were covered in ice, some even had moons, but each was individual and unique. Arkana grinned, returning the slivers of power as she observed her new creation.

Yuukame, Goddess of Boundaries and Gaps

She felt it, the boundaries being pushed, being stressed. She looked, and she saw the first thing that was physical in this universe. A ball of fire, bounded together by the strain of gravity. And from this fiery sphere of her sister’s came emanating the first non-divine light, not unholy mind you, just... Natural. And with these first rays were the bounds of darkness pushed back, until the light could no longer affect the void.

She looked back at the sphere, her sibling had begun to carve pinpricks of light off the fireball, and they were flung into the dark, past where the light shone, and there, they lit the void. Another boundary. The small specks of light had stopped flying into the void, forming a perfect sphere of stars. Stars? That was new. The stars stopped in a perfect sphere, this sphere being a boundary, and thus under her.

Hmm, time for a bit of fun. She dented the lower parts of the perfect sphere, making the stars under there look closer and brighter, and she bent other areas as well, making sure to form a donut-like shape at the center of this imperfect sphere.

At the end of it all, it looked better than the uniform formation of before, with stars twinkling at differing levels of intensity.

Kona, God of the Weather,The Heavens and Dragons

Kona appeared as a magnificent dragon his glorious wings spread across the canvass of the Cosmos. He was born before his twin brother Kavna, by just a second, something that he was proud of indeed. He watched as Arkana created the planets, then he himself would fly towards the third rock from the sun.

He opened his mouth and shot multicolored fire, a powerful song, danced across the planet, and soon an atmosphere was born. He flew around the planet shaping the clouds and the heavens. He fired aurora borealis from his mouth and gave birth to the Northern and Southern lights. He waved his wings and great winds soon blew across the entire planet. The world was soon covered in thunderstorms, it rained and rained, until the entire planet was covered in oceans then it stopped raining on the seventh day. A blue gemstone floating across the glory of reality. He was proud of what he had achieved and aimed to create more.

He flew across the cosmos, and the heavens and created Skyrealm, a tear in reality, where he would watch the world from the heavens. It was a glorious realm that orbited the newly habitable planet,a bright palace made of pure heavenly light. This would be his new home and this is where he would rest.

Faxlous God of Destruction and Chaos
Faxlous looked at the stuff that the other deities had created and decided they needed some chaos. He created giant rocks called asteroids that would fly around and occasionally hit something. He also created giant vortexes he called black holes far away from these new things that would suck anything that go to close and anything that got sucked in would be destroyed. He spread these black holes across the cosmos but none near enough to these new things to do serious damage for now.

He then went to the rock fourth closest to the sun. He would spread his arms and let some of his power into the rock. The ground would now shake. The seas would create giant waves that would crash into the shores. The air would create rapidly rotating column of air that would tear things from the ground throw them around. It would not be total chaos all the time but this assured that there would be chaos and destruction on this rock.
I do be tired

Yuukame, Goddess of Boundaries and Gaps

Yet another shift, upheaval was on the way, she could feel it. Looking outside her metaphysical castle, she saw a glorious dragon spreading its wings, then another dragon came and did so as well. She focused on the second, as this one would be an interesting one, her gut told her. She saw him fly towards one of Arkana’s creations, planets... A new word! The second dragon went to a planet, the third one to the sun. Another concept? Numbers? Not her problem, Tordal could take care of that, she had siblings to toy with.

The dragon breathed unto the barren ball of rock and metal, and unto it came lights of differing colors, The Lights of the North and South these would be. The dragon, with a mighty flap of his wings, blew a great storm unto the rock, and it rained and rained, until the seventh day. Ooh, time, for Fate.

The formerly barren world of simply brown of differing colors was now a dissonant blue marble in the void, a beautiful one at that.

Now, to add some things to this blue rock, the mischievous goddess thought, as the dragon entered a realm of his own creation. “BOUNDARIES! Between cold and warm!” she shouted unto the rock, and rain came again, this time, more random, and at the poles of the planet, ice formed. “BOUNDARIES! Between liquid rock and solid rock, and boundaries between liquid metal and solid metal!” and the planet had different things, volcanoes appeared, and a weird phenomenon occurred. The lights grew brighter, and some of the light from the fireball was blocked. “And finally, night and day. Bordered.”.

It all seemed more orderly now.

Xiyatsu, Goddess of Beauty, Fertility and Light

She did not bother leaving her new home. She could observe the rest of Creation just fine from here, no need to sully herself and expose herself to the darkness. She allowed herself a small measure of pride in her new creations, and so she named her first creation, the first thing created in Creation that was not itself alive, the Sun, and she named its smaller children Stars.

She watched as her Stars moved, the flawless sphere she had made becoming marred, imperfect as it was bent by someone else. She did not interfere; she had been meaning to move her Stars to a more aesthetically pleasing arrangement regardless, and so she let them move until they stopped. It was better, more pleasing to the eye and more beautiful, but it still lacked a particular something, an artistry.

And so her Stars began to move again, remaining within the boundaries set but changing their positions, rearranging themselves into patterns that when connected by lines would vaguely resemble her fellows. She did not require one for herself; she was not vain enough to think that she required one of herself in addition to her Sun, as bright and beautiful as it was.

Lenu, God of Creation

Lenu saw all that was being wrought, and He pulsed with the pleasure of it. Many new things filled his universe, and many sights were unfolding before Him. And as Xiyatsu cast out the stars, and Arkana, the planets, He watched Kona sing his song of divine fire. Lenu noticed this, and settled His glowing being above this planet. And all around him, far above the rapidly forming atmosphere, was born a new thing quite unlike anything seen before. A thing wich would one day be known as a "city." A floating city, far above, orbiting the planet. A beautiful, golden, glowing city, a city of great halls and towering spires, of byzantine palaces and cyclopean cathedrals. And at the centre of it all was Lenu's great hall, where he looked down on the planet and at creation. Atop his throne Lenu hovered, and all around him were lesser thrones, each unique. Lesser thrones, yes, but thrones fit for gods, should they ever chose to seek his company. And this floating city of gold was named Elun.

Yuukame, the Interventionist

She saw the chaos and destruction her brother Faxlous brought upon the orderly system, and she rhough it would be nice to play a little trick on him, see how he would react. She came upon the burning, chaotic fourth planet, and with a wicked smile, she prepared her joke. “BOUNDARIES! Between chaos and order!” and the rock was calmed. Her giggling would be heard by the others, just as intended, and she fled to her castle snickering.

Violentius, God of Violence

Violentius could only observe as others created around and away from it, as if it was dreaming, living as a spectator. It loathed the inability to act out, internally fighting for the ability to simply move. It was torture, utter pain, and it only made its want and need to tear everything apart grow. As it drifted past the creations of others, it perceived the first violence it could, the massive release of energy given off by the Sun, it was a weak amount, no inanimate object could intend to harm, but it would do for a start. So, Violentius moved itself for the first time and felt gratification. There it would remain for now, orbiting around the sun, feeding off the little violence output it had.

Faxlous God of Destruction and Chaos
Faxlous chuckled and muttered.

¨So that is how it will be Yuukame? Well two can play at this game.¨ Faxlous did not wish to destroy anything for that would upset the other gods so he decided to created. He created a race known as the Ftroirms who had green scales were bipedal with claws and no clothing. they were warlike and chaotic and their presence on the planet would make sure it would not be peaceful. Faxlous gave the Ftroirms no weapons but their claws and teeth and made sure to give them sentience and put them in groups close together to make sure they would fight. He then left the planet with the Ftroirms to fight each other at their pleasure.

Xiyatsu, Goddess of Beauty, Fertility and Light

She watched in silence, immobile, not so much as blinking or twitching as her brothers and sisters took it upon themselves to add more, unnecessary things to Creation. They were ugly, crude things, but she would wait for them to finish before she chose to correct them and make them worthy of appearing within Creation. She would not allow such ugly things to mar the beauty of Creation for long.

One of her brethren drifted close to her and her Sun, but she paid it no attention. It was not attempting to mar her Sun, instead merely floating around her, so she let it be.

She turned her eyes elsewhere, and she saw her Father create a city, a beautiful, perfect, flawless city that did not need or want her to perfect it for it was already so. It was fitting for her to dwell within such an environment, and so she left her Sun, drifting to assume her place on her own throne below her Father's. Her work was done, at least until everyone else was done. Then she would perfect the appearances of what they had made.

Kona,Birth of the Dragons

Has Kona flew across the canvass of reality, he thought of what next to create. He soon had a mind-numbing headache so great w he shouted and it shook the entire cosmos. Out of his head, two glorious beings emerged in an explosion of a supernova, the first dragons Eos, male and Rea female the two most powerful mortal beings in existence. They spoke to their father in the dragon tongue, powerful divine fire, but it did not hurt him, he spoke to his children to fly across the cosmos and to spread their seed and once they had finished their journey they would join him in Skyrealm.

They would be cosmic forces balancing the heavens, and the universe. On Earth, they would stabilize the weather, giving the planet its tilt, and giving birth to the first seasons, winter, spring, summer and fall they would act as messengers and servants of their father the Sky Lord.

Light shone forth and spread through the cosmos, everything born in an what seemed an instant, for time was not even born. Tordal was flung from the light into the heavens with many other gods, all children of Lenu, born to forge the cosmos in his name. Knowledge and Strength flowed in Tordal’s body, he was now aware, and could see the potential of the universe before him. But he also saw so much untapped potential from Lenu’s light, even being so young, and still trying to understand his existence Tordal thirsted for more power. With it he could help create the world in his own image.

Before the last rays of light that created the world slumbered, Tordal leapt up to grab this power for his own, and his antlers caught the rays. Having grasped the light, he felt his powers grow even further. Tordal was brimming with potential, and excess of energy and power in his body. He resolved to use this power of plenty to serve order and all things that are good. With the light of Lenu in his antlers, he roamed the cosmos to enhance what was formed, to give perfection to the creations of Lenu.

Tordal looked to the creations of the other gods, both Lenu and Kona formed places of authority, so that they may watch their creations with a close eye. Tordal found wisdom in this and set off to make a place for himself to reside. Tordal also saw the stars of Xiyatsu, honored that a set of stars was formed in his image, he decided to create his realm there. He swung his antlers in an arch, spreading his light, and created Schlaraffenland. It was a land of endless bounty and peace. Tordal was content with his creation, and spent some time enjoying it bounding through the woodlands and fields.

The Pale Knight

...and then, she was. It was a strange experience, in a way - to suddenly just be. There was little point in questioning it all, however. In the end, it would change nothing. She existed. So did this strange, new universe. New to her, at least. There were others, too. She was far from alone. Similar, but different. Vastly different, in case of some. Less so when it came to others. One of the many simple, fundamental rules of this world, it appeared. She furrowed her brows, contemplating on this for a moment.

They created, giving shape to this vast, albeit... meaningless existence. Their way of giving it meaning, purpose. Slowly, their creations were given more and more shape, those many other beings so similar yet so different to her refining their creations, their concepts-given-shape. Adyra watched, silently observing them. She had no desire to do such things - to create, give shape to something from nothing, it was something she could not comprehend doing, herself. She wondered if she ever even could. Instead, she studied her own form for a moment, squinting. It was curious. Where the others were creating, her own visage looked... void of such things. Life. Energy. Creation. There was no such thing behind her sullen black eyes. She liked it.

Lips pursed, she pondered. They created and created, shaping more and more different things into this universe, never relenting. Then, one of them decided to... populate it. That was the word. Creatures, far, far less powerful than them - not even a comparison, but perhaps similar, in a way, as well. Capable of thought. They lived.

One of her fellows shaped a large... place, shaping seats, there, for all of them to meet. She saw no point in it. Not yet. Instead, she turned her gaze back towards the ever-evolving work of the others, silent, still.

It was then that she came to that final, ultimate realization - she knew now what her very nature was, the entire reason for her existence. All that had been created, all that was starting to move around these worlds her kindred had shaped, had to end, eventually. It was how it was meant to be. Her kin knew this, too - they simply had to, no? Yet somewhere, deep inside she realized that not all of them would agree, even if they knew it to be true. They would resist, fight against it. Their creations almost certainly would. That should not be allowed to pass, she concluded. All things had to come to an end, eventually.

She gave herself a nod. This was what she would see to, thankless as some would be for it.

Titan, god of Defense, Fortresses, and Guardians
It was cold, and dark, when Titan was born. He felt....scared, wrapping these...things around him and becoming invisible to those around him. He sensed life, and it's instinct and will to survive. He felt that he had an obligation to protect those who defended themselves and others with...Honor? what's that? Nonetheless, he moved silently, setting down on the third rock from the ball of fire one of the other's had created. Suddenly, he had an idea...He saw two others with similar appendages moving them in a way, and he tried the same. Unfurling his wings, he made one beat up....

And nearly shot into space. Well then, this would take prac-OW!

He had crashed back to the ground, creating a massive hole in it and levelling some large, hard lumps. Yep. This would take a while to get used to. Nonetheless, he tried again, flapping lighter this time and launching himself an appreciable distance into the air. His wings flailed wildy as he attempted to steady himself, eventually, he managed to get a routine up. Fly without moving your wings, flap lightly when it feels like you're losing height, try to stick to the powerful movements up where you're flying. Slowly, his immense form started traversing the rock, moving across pools of some flowing substance, back over rocky areas, and even into an area of cold white stuff. It was amazing, but he had to wait for his real purpose to become apparent.

Arkana

Seeing the new life on the chaotic fourth planet, Arkana would not be left out. Snatching powers as needed, she created wide varieties of life on the third planet, clustered in areas she would name "biomes". Then, with careful precision, she shaped a being in her own image. Four limbs and a head, it was average in all things, but for its great capacity for intelligence. She smiled.
"A life born in my image shall forever grace this land. I shall name you: the human."

It had been only a short amount of time, but Violentius began to perceive other sources of violence the more it fed. Specifically, one ball of rock floating relatively far from the star seemed to be producing a much more tantalizing amount of violence, but could Violentius make the travel there without losing the ability to act? Fear of that loss kept it orbiting around the sun, but now it had a goal. Violentius began to focus more on the ball, trying to get details on the violence produced there, observing what it could from its distance.

Yuukame, the Copyright Breaker

She arrived upon her brother’s planet, and with a quick wave of her hand, shifted the boundaries to make her look like them on the surface, the first sapient beings, reptilians... She landed upon the planet’s surface as her sister Arkana began forming another set of sapient beings to be added to the third world, and more of her siblings appearing in the universe. She showed herself to the largest congregation of the green skinned reptiles, and with a booming voice, she crafted a lie, “MY CHILDREN, I AM YOUR GOD.” and it all went downhill from there.

Faxlous The pissed off ass kicking god.

Faxlous heard Yuukame claim credit for his creations his work and he was filled with an unnatural fury. He had created the first life in this new place and she dared to take that away from him? He flew into and crashed on the planet which he called Gesnypso and he felt himself grow to around 50 feet tall. Fire burst across his body and he roared.

YUUKAME YOU DARE ATTEMPT TO CLAIM MY ACHIEVEMENT AS YOUR OWN! YOU SHALL PAY FOR THIS! His voice shook the ground and he quickly generated a massive fireball and got ready to throw it at Yuukame.
I do be tired

Erraknh, God of Earth and Stone

Upon the world’s floating in the voids, there were many environments. Worlds of water, and worlds of ice. However, these were not the worlds from which Erraknh sprung. No, he formed slowly, rocks pulling together to form an impenetrable armor over his Essence. And as the armor took shape, Erraknh turned his head, slowly surveying the flatlands about him. And Erraknh stood tall, sand falling from his armor, and held out his hand. A haft of sandstone, a head of granite, a hammer of stone. And Erraknh swung the hammer down, and the ground broke. And he swung it again, and the ground moved. And again and again, he swung. And again and again, the ground answered his call. And when his labor was finished, the highest of his peaks reached almost to the domains of Kona.

Sere
Fate, The End Bringer

She flew through the emptiness, weaving in and out of time, wrapping it around these creations she had seen countless times before. As she knew they would, they popped into existence. The rocks that would be known as planets, the bright specks of starts, the skies and dimensions, the black holes and palace of gods. For several moments they were free of the shrouded burden of time, all existing in a state of limbo, never intending to change unless a god willed it.

That would not do. She had seen and done it before, and this iteration was no different. She wove thin strands of time throughout everything and watched as it took hold. Fundamental forces began to press on these creations, now that they were not stuck in the same moment. The bright glowing orbs began to flicker as they used their natural fuel, bubbling in some places and cooling in others. The planets and asteroids began to spin in orbit around the stars and sun.

Of course, there were things she knew she had to do.

Nestled on a far rock at the distant edge of these inventions she laid a large creature, similar to what Version Two inhabitants had called a Cthulhu, a rather charming creature she knew would become relevant several times and, most importantly, serve to delay the End of this timeline. It would be the first life, a necessary addition, for as soon as it came, so did a large woman, pale yet dark. As it was meant to be, with life came death, and life could only exist with time.

Swooping and swirling about, observing what needed to be done, Sere took notes.

She placed a giant wheel of something Version 4 inhabitants had called a "pizza" next to the sun so that it would rotate around it, cooking evenly, a vital addition to the universe, though its true use would not come into play for many millions of years.

The cubed ice cream planets from Version 1 and the intergalactic puppies from Version 6 that inhabited the shadow dimensions from Versions 3 and 5 had to be made, spread out a bit so as not to disturb the creations of others. Not yet at least. Nudging a last beagle into place, she dove back into the realm of time and put herself back to the start of this Version, the beginning. She watched again, saw as the gods were born, creation was started, and how her own additions popped into existence. It was best if the hand of Fate went unseen by those who did not need to know, especially among the gods over whom Fate held little power.

Ah, but there was one who needed to know, perhaps only a peek into the mysteries of Fate. Yes. Though she knew direct creations of Lenu were exempt from the will of Fate, there occasionally came along a deity that the need, capacity, and temperament to handle the knowledge. This deity, she could see, would need to know the Fate of the Dead.

She found the pale woman near the edge, peering at the rest of creation as if she knew already she was not meant to bring life.

"Hello. I am Fate, the End Bringer and the Weaver of Time. I can sensed your place in the Path of Fate and see that you will need knowledge of what Fate brings."

She flaps her wings heavily several times, releasing a glittering black cloud that spans the distance between the two goddesses. It is the Fate of The Dead, the future of all life and its demise. Within, shimmering images of all the deaths in this and every Version of creation can be seen playing at once. It is a beautiful and terrible sight, a burden too heavy for many gods. But this pale figure has a strength within her that will surely not be broken by it.

And then, it happened. The first life created by other gods. Death would soon follow.

Xiyatsu, Goddess of Beauty, Fertility and Light

She watched with disinterest as her fellows quarreled needlessly. She did not see the point in fighting. What was there to fight over? They had all of Creation at their fingertips to do with as they pleased. It was... Petty, to fight over something to needlessly small, and to mar creation in such a... Boorish manner. She shook her head in disapproval. They would fight themselves out of fighting given time. She would not intervene.

Instead, she looked at the balls of rock and metal that they had taken interest in. Some were on the third, some the fourth, but the first and second remained unclaimed. The second did not interest her, but the first, the closest to her Sun, was another matter altogether. She let a tendril of light extend from the Sun, gently wrapping around the first planet in a ring before snapping off from the Sun, forming a belt of light around the equator of that planet.

It was hers, and it was marked as such. Turning it into a paradise that her fellows would not ruin would be work, yes, but such was the price of paradise.
