Somehow grabbed second place in the 16th U18 World Cup, so that's cool. Football team is a bit wack, basketball team is doing better.

Ok, so I just got the results, and South Toronto will hold the tournament. I suggest that South Toronto finalise the format, schedule, and venue so we can start. ST will also simulate the tournament.

Alright, I'll get the format, schedule and group draw done later today. Thanks to everyone who voted for me, hopefully, the tournament goes well.
2nd place finish in BoF 66. There's more to come! Hopefully..
Your young don from Southwest London and I bang out 410, AM Skengdo, 1011 and a host of UK drill artists. You probably thought I was Canadian 'cause of my nation's name and flag, but I am actually Ugandan and I live in London.
Hosted the inaugural STIC, and a domestic newswire up and running. They will be a few more soon...
And remember guys, Toronton is Singular, South Toronton is an Adjective, and Torontons is Plural! Also, the USST is an abbreviation of Unified Socialist States of South Toronto, and apart from marijuana and abortion being legal, and our environmental policies, in no way does this nation reflect my RL views.

You can't tag things when you are a participant. Thank you for reminding me, because now anybody I catch tagging their posts will get 0 RP bonus for that RP, even if it's a good one. In the future, please don't tag posts. Heed my warning, or yee shall feel the wrath of South Toronto!

It's okay, it's quite common for people new to NS Sports to tag posts. Just don't do it next time, and you'll be good!

Hello, and welcome to the inaugural NS Chess Tournament!

For those who need reminding of how I will scorinate this tournament and the details:

As said before, the scorinator I will be using is xkoranate, and we will be doing single match chess. I will have a third-party person scorinating my matches. At no time will I ever scorinate my own matches.

The NS Chess Tournament 1 will be a group stage, and then a knock-out stage tournament. 24 participants will battle it out in 6 groups of 4. The two best-placed participants in the group and the 4 best-placed players will go straight into the Round Of 16.

I will also be giving out RP bonuses for every RP posted, good or poor. For those of you who don't know, whenever you post an RP, I will be grading it based on how good it is. Quality over quantity, as there is no point pumping out very mediocre RP's every day when you can post a good RP over every few days. RP bonuses are quite helpful as they help you to get a good result, but it is never guaranteed.

Image

The venue is Denzi-Berkazo Holtze Stodion, which is a hockey stadium used for high school hockey games in Trapsan. The translation for Ilza-Denzi Berkazo Holtze Stodion in English is "The Bucks' Hockey Stadium". It is also a multi-purpose stadium, as all participants will take part in the venue at the same time as there a sufficient number of seats and chessboards available. If you are getting public transport for the event, don't, unless you want to be spat on, and have marijuana blown into your face. It's better to hire a taxi, they will take you straight to the venue without a problem.

IC Information:

South Toronto is by multi-universal standards, a very advanced country known for its economy. Our civil rights are reasonably average for a typical nation however, our economy is so good, some would say it is frightening. The economy is broadly diversified and is led by the Tourism industry, with contributions from the of Arms Manufacturing, Retail, and Information Technology. Currently, the president of South Toronto is Trey Deyvon Woods, who saved South Toronto from political and civil rights turmoil during a civil war in which former dictator Tobi Obirito ignited. English, Exzapan, and French are the official languages of South Toronto, with Spanish and a small amount of German being spoken as well. In South Toronto, students from as young as 6 and university students receive mandatory sex education, citizens of the same sex are allowed to marry, and as a caution to tourists, there are AI beings who will be recognised as legal citizens, as failure to do so will result in a hefty fine of 985 raicyans (NS $1713.9). South Toronto is very welcoming of the LGBT community, and we are very protective of the environment.

Nature:
It is recommended tourists bring cow testicles as the Phoenix, the national animal of South Toronto, consider them a delicacy. Phoenixes travel in families, like us human beings, so don't touch their children or you'll be going home with a scorched arse. Phoenixes do breathe fire, but only when they feel threatened, so the best thing to do is to approach cautiously and either take a picture, feed it cow testicles, or pet/stroke it. You'll find them in parks or national parks. Harm or kill our Phoenixes and it will result in a minimum of 15-25 years or even life in prison. This is because South Toronto is run mainly on nuclear power, and phoenixes flock to the nuclear power plants where it's warmer, and they consume all the pollution. A phoenix can support an entire city a people, so it's good to have plenty of them.

There are zoos with dinosaurs and other extinct animals, for scientific research into how and why certain species lived longer than others. Only Utahraptors can roam freely in the wild but have been genetically modified to have less sharp claws and teeth and to be more intelligent. You can pay 50 raicyans(or $91) to go on a 1-day safari to a national park since only authorised officials can enter the park without payment. Those who attempt to get in for free won't be punished if they are brutally attacked by the Utahraptors, because if you survive more than 5 minutes with that, you deserve to be South Toronton. For other unlucky intruders, the Utahraptors will enjoy hunting you down and eating you alive, it's like a sport them with a win-win situation if they get you. Stay out of trouble and they'll be no issues.

The maple tree cannot be chopped down or altered in any way as it's the national tree of South Toronto. They are found almost all over South Toronto, and phoenixes and other animals usually make their nests in them. Maple trees are in South Toronto are bigger than the average maple tree, growing from 45 to 113 feet tall. Lots of the more dangerous creatures, such as cougars, grizzly bears, lynxes, and wolverines in South Toronto live in either the Craganos mountain range, or the Hikrothgar Mountain range.

Climate:
South Toronto has a huge range of climate, with the northern states measuring a freezing -12℃, and the eastern state measuring almost a sweltering 36℃. Typically, South Toronto is a very rainy and wet place for the rest of the population that don't live in the extreme temperatures that the northern and the eastern states face.

Crime:
Thanks to a well-funded police force, crime is almost totally unknown in South Toronto. However, some crime still happens, particularly towards the western states. Trapsan is a state notorious throughout South Toronto for being a crime hotspot state. In fact, just over 73.39% of crime in South Toronto is in this state, though tourists do not need to worry. A tremendous amount of police forces will be patrolling around Trapsan when the final comes to reduce any further crime. It is advised tourists bring any item that can be used for self-defence such as guns, army knives, pepper spray, and low voltage stun guns.

If you are not armed then call the national South Toronto police number of 422, police tend to patrol local neighbourhoods and most likely will be there in 3-8 minutes. Go to a shop if you can find one, as it's against the law to harm people within any shop. It is advised tourists take the cable car system, to stay away from the feared Broksenvale Neighbourhoods as they are notorious for being the most ghetto and dangerous places to visit.

If any tourist makes racist, sexists, or any sort of discriminatory remarks about anyone, it's an instant lifetime ban from South Toronto. If your nation has a problem with our nation's policies or the fact it is socialist, just simply don't send any of your fans to South Toronto. Usually, you will be deported if it' a minor crime and you will be extradited back to your own country to face trial if you commit a serious crime here. However, if you do any crimes worthy of capital punishment, we will execute you for your crimes in South Toronto.

Food:
The famous fast food chain in South Toronto, PCG (Perry's Chicken Grilled), is found in almost every single state. Perry Eyollna Chigill, the founder of PCG, spoke little English when he immigrated to South Toronto as a child, hence why the name is Perry's Chicken Grilled instead of Perry's Grilled Chicken. Vegetables and fruit are cherished by the people, so don't be surprised seeing your average Toronton munching on some lettuce or carrots as a snack. Tapwater is seen as disgusting and contaminated by the South Toronton people, so instead they drink bottled water.

It is generally frowned upon to eat any fried food or food cooked in oil since it shows how unhealthy a person is. Chips (or fries for our heathen brothers and sisters) are baked in ovens and scorpion soup is considered a delicacy by many. Because so many South Torontons are Muslims and many just despise it, bacon or anything derived from a pig is illegal in South Toronto. Try to smuggle any bacon and you'll be assaulted by many people before you are arrested and deported back to your country.

People:
Most South Toronton people are quite friendly but have very short tempers, so don't do anything that might piss them off. However, there are some people in South Toronto that are xenophobic. Most, if not all of the citizens in Port Decca are xenophobic, and if you end up in the wrong neighbourhood in Trapsan, you are likely to be subject to mugging and assault. And yes, there are some stupid idiots out there that will for no reason at all, hurl abuse and even assault tourists simply because they are foreign. Never travel alone in Trapsan, even if you are in a public area.

There is health care for tourists, but you must pay for your hospital bills later on. Public transport is free, and the winner will get a lifetime free ticket to South Toronto, so they can travel back here as often as they'd like.

Nathan Catskill, Baron of Catskill, Arrives at Int. Chess Tournament!
By Mark Lane

Today, His Lordship arrived in South Toronto, a socialist nation, to compete in an international chess tournament. This tournament, the first Knessniet has participated in, will surely bring our nation fame should Baron Catskill distinguish himself. We have sent KNN Correspondent Jack Matthews to cover the tournament.

"It looks like a big operation, with competitors from many countries gathered here.", remarks Mr. Matthews to a KNN camera. "I am sure Baron Catskill will have many fans back home, and he has conveyed to me that he requests your support and prayers."

Due to the laws of South Toronto, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has warned citizens to remember that some things considered commonplace in Knessniet, are illegal there. They also advise that many things that are illegal here, are legal there. It advises fans that are not experienced travelers to remain at home, and watch KNN coverage of the event.

This is the inaugural tournament, and Baron Catskill has expressed he is honored to be among the first competitors. He has stated, "I will be going up against some of the best players in the world, I need all the prayers and support I can get."

When asked what he will do if he wins, he said, "Simple. I'll come back next year and do it again."

This is Mark Lane, KNN Chess Expert.

Third Asopia Chronicles

Brytune arrives at South Toronto for inaugural chess competition

Michael Eirdovan
South Toronto

Michaella Brytune, winner of Alorva University’s Chess playoffs, arrived at South Toronto for The International Chess Tournament. The reporters almost couldn’t interview her as she was in a hurry, but Edwin Skazavskon managed to squeeze a tad bit of time after going through immigration. We asked her how it was like to be in another country for an international tournament.
“To be honest, I feel quite scared asI am challenging people from across the multiverse. However, I am determined as I have experienced it before. We actually hosted the Uni Chess Playoffs at a hockey stadium too. And the atmosphere. Aah! It’s going to be a fun time, I guess. Hopefully I’ll be able to make some friends.” She said.
“I heard your parents are here to cheer for you .How about your other relatives?” Skazavskon asked.
“My aunt lives here, so she’ll guide us around the country as we warm up. She is kind of like our tour guide.” She chuckles. And that was the end of the interview. TAC Sports Correspondent Zachary Alfonso will cover the tournament. It will also be broadcast on channel Sports Galore Third Asopia at 3.30 a.m. due to time zone differences. Otherwise, the TAC VidTube channel will update you. So stay tuned(and prepare to,stay up late if you’re watching on TV).

Procrastination... is the art of knowing you have a job to do but know there's like a year till it's due. It's elemental for the Asopin soul to survive in such a slow-paced world.
Bored of having to see Juventus winning the Schudetto too many times? Can wait to see that match where Ronaldo didn’t shoot at all? Tired of seeing Napoli fight for first place when there’s no point? Oh boy, you’ve found a new friend.

Casimir Yartillios is Myrkvifiord’s entrant in the NS Chess Tournament I. He was born and raised in Quazarton, Quantilia, which is an overseas territory of Myrkvifiord. He became Quantilia’s ambassador to Myrkvifiord at age 34, when he picked up chess as a hobby. He was extremely good, and won the first ever Myrkvifiord National Chess Tournament despite being a foreigner. He retired from ambassador to focus on his chess career. He is proud to represent Myrkvifiord in the Chess Tournament, and is excited to face Sean Hasbrook from the Atlantic Republic on October 2nd.

RP Notes: Prone to getting in a sticky situation in the back two ranks. Loves the “two rooks” strategy, where at the end, two rooks gradually force the king into a checkmate. Often will draw out a match from a sure loss into a stalemate.

Alan Baron disembarked from his ship and took in the sights. He is an incredible chess player, when kept sober. He was born in the port city of Tayke, and is currently enrolled in Aubergine University, the nation's top school. He began playing chess at a young age and quickly excelled.

Tjorl Today!

Böhme arrives in South Toronto with Carola Senja Keil
Hello! I am here with Filip Böhme who just arrived in South Toronto to compete in NS Chess Tournament 1. Today I am here to interview him about the upcoming tournament.
(Interview below.)
C: Hello Filip! How are you?
F: Oh, i'm fine, thank you for asking.
C: So, how will you prepare for your next match?
F: Oh, I usually play matches with some of the best Grandmasters in Oatland like LVDTA's Alan Roberto III and Rafftonia's Mahmud Imram El-Ghazzawy. We want to make sure that we win this as we our the ones who founded the competition and hope to present Oatland sports on the world stage.
C: Okay, now, what do you feel about the tournament?
F: I'm excited as this is the first time our country was represented in a chess tournament. I am also nervous as some competitors here are really good.
C: Oh, I hope you win, Filip!
F: Thank you for your support. Goodbye!

Somehow grabbed second place in the 16th U18 World Cup, so that's cool. Football team is a bit wack, basketball team is doing better.

RP Cutoff

The cutoff song is Red Roses by my favourite artist, Lil Skies. Sit back and relax. Or not if you're not into that type of music.

We got all the drugs in the world that you need, we get high to pass time but we ain't no fiends, we got money on my mind, we are stacking our green...Red Roses on my grave bury me with art!

Baron Catskill's First Match ends in Draw!
By Mark Lane, KNN Chess Expert

Today, the first round of the international chess tournament that Baron Nathan Catskill entered ended in a draw. It was declared after both he and his opponent only had a few pawns and their kings. Our correspondent on the ground managed to get a comment from His Lordship on camera.

"It was close, and I am glad. It wasn't a loss, so I'm happy!", the Baron remarked, "I hope for more success in the second round, though."

There was a surprising amount of draws in the first round, showing how close this tournament promises to be. All games will be broadcast live on KNN Sports at the local time. Be aware, these games are at odd times due to time-zone differences.

The Baron reiterates his request for prayers and support.

Baron vs. The Baron
The recent match between Baron Catskill and Alan Baron ended in a tie. Many blame this on Baron's drinking during the later half of the game, causing Alan to care more about taking his opponent's pieces than actually winning. The next day, Baron said "Credit to the Baron, he was better than I had expected. Thought I'd like to remind everyone that I am still technically undefeated."

The Kjol Herald

Böhme defeated by Cradian chess player

Filip Böhme recently experienced a crushing defeat against Saburo Yoshiro Kimura of Animanaikistan. Böhme said "I didn't expect much from Kimura, but then again, Cradians always give you surprises." Böhme's next match is against Casimir Yartillios of Myrkvifiord who is currently first in Group E. Bohme now hopes to gain back his fan's attention and confidence. He said "I hope I rank high because I am aware I could be eliminated, and that would be humiliating.". If Böhme lose his next match, it would the end of his chess tournament campaign. MORE ON PAGE B4

Struggling to come up with RP ideas? Then just read on!

RP Prompt: Money, money, money. It's all most South Torontons think about, how they're going to feed their family or themselves, how they are going to pay the bills, when the check from their job comes, and saving money. Even the poorest people in South Toronto are middle class in other countries. However, back in the day when South Toronto was broke, everyone suffered. One of our participants, Natisha Viksant Derose, grew up in extreme poverty recently. Has there ever been a time where one of your participants were facing financial hardships or had they recently gotten out of their hardships?

Cutoff will be at 00:00 AM GMT from now on. You can convert it into your timezone here
