We have a number of public broadcasters, operating in many different languages and catering to different needs. There are few private broadcasters, and they are strictly regulated to ensure that their content is appropriate

The Ministry of Culture operates public radio and television stations.

The Federal Radio Information Service (FRIS) broadcasts news and documentary programming.
The Appalachian Arts Radio Collective (AARC) broadcasts music, with a focus mainly on Appalachian cultural music, as well as other cultural programs like radio plays. Both can be picked up just about anywhere in the country.

As far as television, there are three stations simply referred to by number. Public Station One broadcasts news and documentary programming - it is understood that Station One News comes with a bias slanted toward the ruling party, but it's still considered a good source of information - Station One will also on occasion broadcast international news programming such as the BBC. Station Two broadcasts educational programming for children in the mornings, and arts programming like concerts and plays in the afternoon and evening. Station Three broadcasts sessions of Parliament or other special government events e.g. inaugurations or state funerals.

There are also radio and television services operated by provincial and municipal governments. How these function and whether they exist at all vary by region. All programming from both the radio and television services are available online as well.

BPBS2 (1927-1946)-animation/kids, destroyed in Great Hurricane of 1946. In 1951 it become Jidai Eiga Musenshikakusha Beyeolttang (named after Jidai Eiga and Musenshikaku, two programming providers (think of relation slimar to WNET and PBS) for BPBU) and as of 1963 is called MBT.

Foreverisle has three public broadcasters:

EVERNEWS
This is the state-funded television news channel of Foreverisle, broadcasting news and news-related content between the hours of 6am and midnight. Its content is tightly regulated and frequently audited to ensure both accuracy and impartiality, and as such it enjoys consistently high public approval ratings. While funded by the government, Evernews is operated by independent individuals who are not answerable to the state. The network's place in society is deeply enshrined in law to eliminate any potential scenario in which government officials could threaten to withhold funding as payback for content which they may find unfavourable, and indeed one of the channel's legal duties is to challenge government decisions.

GOVLINK
In contrast to Evernews, Govlink is directly owned and managed by the government of Foreverisle. It mirrors the broadcasting hours of Evernews and is designed as a platform for the government to impart such information to the public as it deems necessary. Its content is not restricted to news, and often diverges into documentaries centred around current affairs and important issues. While not as tightly regulated as Evernews (the government can use it to issue statements in support of current policy without the need for right of reply), Govlink is still required to maintain the same high standards of accuracy and must not attempt to mislead its viewers.

SOVEREIGN ENTERTAINMENT
Some argue that SE is not strictly a public broadcaster, since it is operated on a commercial subscription basis and its content is unregulated. Others do consider it a public broadcaster since it is wholly owned and operated by the Queen, whose official duties include entertaining the populace. SE is a 24-hour channel whose content is commissioned or handpicked by the monarch and extremely varied.

Unlike many other nations, the People's Republic of Zhouran has multiple state broadcasters instead of a single state broadcaster. As a result, this has resulted in a diverse range of content as well as inter-competitiveness. Zhouran's four state broadcasters fall under the supervision of the National Media Administration, which is in turn subordinate to the Central Council of the People's Republic of Zhouran.

Currently there are up to 2,550 television broadcast stations in the country, of which 800 are operated by state-owned broadcasters under the supervision of the National Media Administration, while 1,750 are local regional stations. The country also currently has up to 18,610 radio broadcast stations, of which 4,875 are AM stations, 6,950 are commercial FM stations, 4,380 are FM stations operated by state-owned broadcasters under the supervision of the National Media Administration, and 2,405 are licensed low-power FM stations.

The Société Radio-Télédiffusion Aikolandais (SRTA, officially translated as the Aikolandais Broadcasting Corporation) is the public broadcaster in Aikoland. It was originally established as the Société Radiodiffusion Aikoland in 1933 as the national radio broadcaster but was forced off the air in 1940 following the Axis invasion of our nation and was replaced by Radiodiffusion Nationale Aikoland. After the defeat of the Axis in WW2, the SRA (as it was then known) was reestablished.

In 1951, the Société Télévision Aikoland (Aikoland Television Corporation) was established to serve as the public television broadcaster in our nation. While both were owned by the state, they were separate organisations until 1976, when they were merged to form the modern Société Radio-Télédiffusion Aikolandais.

In the modern day, there are three television channels and four radio stations owned and operated by the SRTA in Aikoland.

Television
  • SRTA
The original and primary television channel broadcast by the SRTA.
  • Aikoland News
A 24-hour news channel providing national and international news coverage. Originally established in 1993 as Aiko24, renamed to Aikoland News in 2010.
  • SRTA-Parlement
Parliamentary affairs channel established in 2003.

Radio
  • Radio-Aikoland
The original radio station operated by the SRTA. Broadcasts modern popular music and chart hits.
  • Radio-Aikoland Info
A 24/7 news and call-in show radio station, established in 1990.
  • Radio-Aikoland Sport
A sports station, the only sports radio station in our nation.
  • Radio-Aikoland Divertissement
Broadcasts made-for-radio dramas and other entertainment programming. Established in 1995.

New Rothera's public broadcaster was set up in 2042 as AntarcticMedia, consisting of two channels, one broadcasting in English and the other in French. Under joint ownership of the British and French governments, the service was funded by advertising and mostly broadcast foreign TV shows and films. After independence in 2061, the service was reworked into Television New Rothera / Télévision Nouvelle-Rothera (TVNR). A fully public organisation (although independent from government), TVNR is directly funded by the communications tax, paid by anyone with access to TV, radio or internet. The service has fostered a growing media industry in New Rothera; many of the shows produced by TVNR have been successful overseas, and it has helped subsidise movies made in New Rothera or by New Rotheran directors. It has the rights to broadcast the Olympic games, the World Cup and various other sporting events, and, as an EBU member, the Eurovision Song Contest. TVNR has an online catch-up service (TVNR+), which is free for all New Rotherans, as well as a subscription streaming service (NRVideo), aimed at overseas audiences.

Channels operated by TVNR:
TVNR1 - The main channel in New Rothera. It hosts morning, afternoon and evening news bulletins, as well as a variety of dramas, comedies and game shows aimed at a mainstream audience. Major sporting events may also be broadcast on this channel.
TVNR2 - More "niche" content is usually broadcast on this channel, such as highbrow documentaries, serious dramas and offbeat comedy. Music and cultural events are also often hosted here.
TVNR3 - Primarily aimed at teenagers and young adults. Lighthearted comedies as well as more serious programmes relating to youth culture are common on this channel.
TVNR Français - Aimed at New Rothera's French-speaking community. It hosts various shows from other TVNR channels as well as specially made programmes and imported shows from other francophone nations.
TVNR Kids - Aimed at children aged 1-12, featuring a mixture of entertaining and educational programming. Most shows are imported from the US or Europe, but there is also a large amount of high-quality New Rotheran originals.
TVNR News - 24 hour news service
TVNR Sport - Live sports coverage

As well as TVNR, there are numerous private broadcasters, both locally and internationally owned. There is no national public radio service, although there are many local and regional radio stations owned and operated by TVNR.
Pro: Socialism, democracy, secularism, internationalism, environmentalism, LGBTQ+ rights

The Public Broadcasting System (PBS) still exists and has actually been given new resources under the Imperial Government which funds the PBS through television licenses like the BBC. The PBS has several channels.

PBS: The primary channel of the PBS, it primarily broadcasts sitcoms, drama shows, children's programs in the early morning, News programming, and films. Recently It gained the rights to broadcast Game of Thrones.

PBS 2: Similar to the BBC 2, it broadcasts more specialized programming such as documentaries, niche television shows, and imported Australian and Ablionese programming.

PBS Kids: The PBS's 27/7 children's programming channel.

PBS-CSPAN: Create after the merger of PBS and CSPAN, it covers the proceedings of the American Imperial Congress.

PBS Espanol: A fully Spanish language channel geared towards the southernmost Themes of the Imperium. Recently gained American broadcasting rights to EL Chavo Del Ocho.

PBS World: Covers cultural topics from around the world. Broadcasts imported programming and international news broadcasts. Recently gained American broadcasting rights to the Moomins and several French television shows.

PBS Quebec: The Quebecois Branch of the PBS

PBS Latin America: The Latin American branch of the PBS based in Mexico City. Despite it's name it's broadcasting is restricted in South America due to perceived Pro-Imperial messages exacerbated by the fact that the House of Arandulius, the Imperial Family of America, is also the Mexican Imperial Family.

Geska's public broadcasting service, RTG (Radio and Television for Geska / Radio o Televisije for Geska) was established in 1961 after Geska Television (a private company founded in 1956) merged with the Gesk Broadcasting Corporation (a public radio broadcaster in operation since 1927) into a single organisation overseen by the Ministry of Culture. It is funded partially through a tax levied against all households that own a TV set or have access to the internet, known as the Broadcast Tax, and partially through advertising, although ad breaks are usually much shorter and less frequent than on most commercial networks.
As a public broadcaster, RTG is obligated to present a balance of opinions in its news and current events programming, and broadcasts political debates in the run-up to elections and referendums. It has the legal broadcasting rights to the Olympic Games and the FIFA World Cup in Geska. A member of the EBU, it broadcasts the Eurovision Song Contest every year, making its debut in 1967 and winning the contest in 1971.
RTG Television runs three channels (RTG1, RTG2 and Kanal Gesk), and until 1975 was the sole TV broadcaster in the country, before the creation of Channel 3, which is commercially funded. Three radio stations (Radio Mulby, NR1, NR2 and GeskRadio) are operated across the country by RTG.

TV channels
RTG1 - The oldest and most-watched channel in Geska, launched in 1956. Programming includes news, sports, dramas and comedies (mostly British or American imports alongside some local shows), quiz shows and documentaries.
RTG2 - Launched in 1972, This channel broadcasts shows aimed at more niche audiences, and tends to focus on documentaries, cultural programmes and highbrow series, which are often imported from Scandinavia.
Kanal Gesk - The only Gesk-language channel. It was launched in 1999, replacing RTG2's Gesk-language afternoon programming block. Programming consists of the news in Gesk, cultural programmes and documentaries, foreign TV series and films dubbed into the Gesk language, and the long-running soap opera Marbek Dal (Marbeck Valley).

Radio stations
Radio Mulby - The main national radio station, which has operated since 1927. Broadcasts popular music, news and talk shows.
NR1 - National Radio 1 is focused on discussion of culture and current events, and is aimed at a highbrow audience.
NR2 - National Radio 2 is primarly aimed at young people, and broadcasts Top 40 hits as well as live music performances.
GeskRadio - Gesk-language radio station. Broadcasts news and discussion in Gesk, as well as Gesk-language music.

Television
There are four terrestrial TV channels in Great Britain, all of which have public service requirements. The main public broadcaster is the BBU (British Broadcasting Union), which is funded through a tax levied on all equipment capable of receiving a radio or television signal.

Channel 1 - The flagship channel of the BBU, and the first British television station, (launched in 1937 as "British Central Television") broadcasting a variety of content such as news, sport, drama, comedy, soap operas and quiz shows.

Channel 2 - Also owned by the BBU, and launched in 1961, this station specialises in more high-brow content such as documentaries and art programmes. In the day time on weekdays, it provides educational programmes for schools.

Three Network - Created in 1967 to provide competition for the BBU, the third channel is operated by various regional franchises which each use their own branding and produce some of their own programmes. It was the first channel on British TV to use advertising, albeit subject to strict regulation. The current Three Network franchises are as follows:
  • Ddraig - S. Wales
  • Iceni - Anglia
  • Irwell - N.W. England, N. Wales & Isle of Man
  • Mercian Broadcasting Union (MBU) - East & West Mercia
  • Metro - London & S.E. England
  • Northumbrian Television (NTV) - N.E. England, parts of S. Scotland & N. Yorkshire
  • Scottish Television (STV) - Scotland
  • Southern Broadcasting Union (SBU) - South coast & Channel Islands
  • Western Television (WTV) - Wessex
  • Yorkshire Television (YTV) - Yorkshire
In general, Three's programming is low-brow and aims at a broad audience. It is known mainly for soap operas, sitcoms and reality shows, as well as a high number of foreign programmes, particularly from the US and Australia.

Alternative Television (ATV) - The newest terrestrial station, launched in 1985. Partly owned by the BBU, but commercially funded, it has more creative independence than the other channels, and focuses on more offbeat content. It is particularly well-known for its late-night comedy shows, which are notorious for pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable.

Radio
The majority of radio stations are operated by the BBU. There are four public radio stations available throughout Great Britain:

BBU1 - The most listened-to station, broadcasting a variety of music, as well as news and talk programmes.

BBU2 - Aimed at young people, mostly plays modern popular music.

BBU3 - Intellectual discussions, radio dramas and classical music.

BBU4 - Sports coverage.
