The Fate of Nations (Invites Only)

Postby Lord Mousetrap » Fri Aug 31, 2018 12:23 pm

As if the world couldn't get more tense, the two superpowers of the first-world are facing off, at least in the conference rooms, as well in boasting their militaristic strength, for now at least. So, the relevant nations of the first-world, Lord Mousetrap, Kipiria, Squeaktown, Central Detaltistoctoro, and King Mousetrap have agreed, though not so peacefully, to hold a grand conference on January 1, 1914, one of which the world has not seen since the conclusion of the Sun Valley Crisis, or the great war, a few scant years earlier. It seems only a matter of time before either another world war is averted, or a second world war will tear the world to shreds like the first world war. Luckily, a peaceful outcome is likely to come out as a reminder of how utterly destructive the great war was, but as history has shown repeatedly, it might be the opposite, which would spell disaster.
Now, this conference has breathed ease on the socialist nations of the second-world because since Intelania won't be participating since they've been torn to absolute shreds and facing multiple civil wars at once as a direct result to the Great War, since no one won as it ended in a stalemate, Squeaktown was able to stop Lord Mousetrap's invasion of Stockholm, and Lord Mousetrap was not able to obliterate their enemies.

So, ask to join in to participate in the grand conference and what comes as a result.

January the First of 1914
Inside a grand hall leading into an even grander room, blessed with large columns of marble and gold and with a butt-ton of chairs for this very purpose, for each of the delegates of the nations of the world, the grand conference kicks of with not such a large bang, our lead delegate to the conference, Lord Ivan Tremblesmark, has sparked our 75 delegates (including him) into a load uproar against Squeaktown's 75 deleagtes for issues with air space and with reconstruction of the lands the war raged on, as one plane from former Intelanian republics has crashed into one of Lord Mousetrap's planes "on accident". Mr. Tremblesmark stated that it wasn't our fault for the war, that it was Squeaktown's fault for starting the war, as they pushed us to far and with that ultimatum was unneeded. One of Squeaktown's more inexperienced delegates denied those accusations as "ludicrous". But they got on to their days and voted on a resolution to focus more resources to rebuild the war-torn regions...

January 1, 1914 (why does it have to be 1914?)
After Lord Mousetrap's delegates barked at our delegates, the vote should go as planned, but one thing is off. Compared to the grand room of the building, the ballot boxes seem a tad bit too small, maybe someone before we vote should fix that little issue. Otherwise, our delegates are prepared for whatever Lord Mousetrap's delegation throws at us, that is if their important issues, like that one little problem of all of Finland and the Middle East being wastelands now, and everywhere else being scarred for life about the conflict. So, taking initiative assigned by the newly crowned Emperor of Squeaktown and King of Westphalia, Kaiser Wilhelm XI (because they have to be special after the war), the delegation will hope to get out of here prosperous and vibrant, because the Finnish are very angry for our forces protecting Sweden, but not Finland, because we couldn't spare enough resources to protect them in time.
Now, one issue expected to erupt is the fact that our late emperor Gustavus Adolphus XI started the re-militarization of the empire after defensive holdings in Northern Germany were smashed out of existence, he has started reconquering the region of Prussia from local kings and lords and from much insults and threats from Lord Mousetrap, before Gustavus was struck ill and died...

The government of Kipiria, in a surprising show of grandeur, does not mention that Sultan Borin Grado would be present along with the Kipirian delegates in the grand Postwar Conference, and arrives with his guard detail to personally deliver an ultimatum.
"This war, in which my armies made great strides and sacrifices to assist our ally, Lord Mousetrap, was a great and terrifying one, of that there is no doubt. Were it not for my soldiers and supplies, the results today would be far different, a partitioning by the rebels and not a conference. Were it not for the brave clergy and citizenry, who had to scour themselves of Intelanian spies and sympathizers. We paid much blood and gold for this war, and we demand to be repaid in full. Today we will negotiate two possibilities: that either the Intelanian lands give tribute for their actions against my homeland, or that the original rebels who threatened the crown be held accountable. So long as the streets of Kipiria are rebuilt and the people happy, I will be satisfied with whatever solution presents itself, but I will demand no less than what I offer."

As the issues rage on in the conference, Kipiria has just added that much action to it. The ultimatum demanding compensation or tribute should be accepted as to respect those who fought, but without Emperor Gustavus III's word in it, we can't accept it now or he'd be furious, really furious, but no-one quite knows him that much because he only came to power very recently. But the leading delegate of Lord Mousetrap was not present today, meaning with our style of delegations we can't do much of anything, and everyone seems to wonder why that is. But one thing is certain, the conference room is getting more tense by the hour now, and now, international news organizations are taking a closer look to what's happening.
Meanwhile back at our capital, Emperor Gustavus hasn't been much of a fan of the conference, but more of a hothead, unlike his predecessors who were more rational. He has been ordering the reconstruction of the industrial sectors of Bandar Imam Khomeini, especially those that were targeted during the war, and the reconstruction of the army and the introduction of the air force for who knows what...

In the dead of night, the emperor sent an ultimatum, as well as a detachment from the Imperial Guard to the warring states of the British Isles in response to the revolution in London, opposing our rule, but that was a decade ago already. Civil war and civil war later, and we haven't regain control. Our last possession over there is Portsmouth in England, which is in a siege. But recent events have pulled attention away from the conference being the emperor's priority to that. The King of the Kingdom of Westphalia has kicked the bucket and left the throne vacant to his baby heir, the powerful nobles, Lord Mousetrap's petty claim, and our powerful claim. So is was that our emperor declared war over the throne, which nobody expected but the nobles.
Meanwhile in the conference, Kipiria was demanded that Lord Mousetrap reorganize the Raj region for a Kipirian dominated continent, which isn't all that good for our interests in the region. But other issues are raging on, and it seems like there is no end in sight.

Being late to enter the conference, we kind of missed out on the action, we were preoccupied by the recent wars of Prussian reunification of, well, Prussia. We haven't seen much success against the Squeaktownian mercenaries, who seem to be proficient with oblique order...so we decided to capture the critical ports of Lubeck, and Danzig or Gdãnsk to cut the enemy, Westphalia from resupplying our capital, which was under siege. We also sent a small decoy force, just to capture all of Austria-Hungary.
At the conference, our goals are to get support from anyone willing to supply us in our wars, preferably from the army of Denmark, bring our version of peace on Germany, and ally either one of the superpowers, or Kipiria (our people have heard tales of their greatness), and form world peace, but if all else fails, we could be well off attacking Squeaktown's mercenaries and obliterating them so they won't pose a threat.

Being such a grand moment in world history, many more nations would like a part on how it goes. As things are going now, Prussens is warring with Central Detaltistictoro (tell me if I'm wrong), and the Indian subcontinent is becoming a hot topic for frequent arguments. Though there will be more wars in Europe because the two German powers aren't letting up. But one thing for sure, with these news, our Emperor Gustavus III has a keen interest in gaining something when all-out total war enviably rages in Germany and Britain, which is distracting him from the conference, which is what he "needs" to do right now.
However, our government has been undergoing reform since the conference started a few days ago to strength the military from another terrifying war to rage (consider it an achievement that the government thought it was terrifying).

After a tragedy in the capital of Lord Mousetrap claims the life of Emperor Gustavus Adolphus III, leaving the throne contested, with Prime Gustav Hansa V claiming the rights of the throne, the resulting chaos leaves the empire paralyzed to anything. The military swiftly blamed Squeaktown, who was behind the killing of our emperor, which sparked the Great War just a few decades ago, so it wouldn't be that outlandish to think Squeaktown's at it again.
