Brief background of nation (or link to iiwiki page): The Republic of Heria, also known as Heria, is a sovereign state located in western not!Europe, being bordered by Volgaria on the south and Arsale via a maritime border on the west. The biggest cities are Havendam, Joriksheem, Gasselt, Ensfoort and Bloemezaal, with Havendam being the biggest city and Ensfoort the capital, housing the national legislature, the Staten-Generaal. The port of Havendam is one of the largest in Aurilia, exporting massive amounts of goods. Heria is a very densely populated country.

Geography and climate of nation: The areas near the coasts are very flat, with some elevation inland. The climate is generally a moderate coastal climate.

How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses): The large amount of trade being reliant off Heria and its size are its strengths, and an economic recession together with a severe lack of soldiers are weaknesses.
If asked to reduce the strength of your nation, how would you do so?: decrease average soylent consumption A size decrease will be made if the country is too large.

Brief background of nation (or link to iiwiki page): Ventium is the modern incarnation of the Kingdom of Ventia, the ancient state that still has its influence felt today. Ancient Ventium was an innovator in many areas. Modern Ventium comes from the dark ages, however, and has always fought to get back to that standard. Entering the 1930s, the former Ventium territory was some of the poorest in the world and had yet to undergo industrialization. Furthermore, the nation was split into warring states with each one claiming to be the legitimate heir to the success of the old country. Reunification only came in 1947, and that was also the start of what would be a rapid modernization. Ventium has always been a heavy handed democracy in its modern form, having some democratic ideas and some aspects of its regime that others would consider more authoritarian, such as certain provinces not getting a vote. But that's because the nation traces its roots back to a Kingdom, truly walking the line between past and present in its policies.

Geography and climate of nation: The northern part of the country has mountains that create the border between Ventium and border territories. The rest of the country is temperate with a Mediterranean type climate, except for the colder northern areas.

POWER PROJECTION:
How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses): Realism regions always have a ton of liberal democracies, I can imagine Ventium being somewhat of a foil to them while not being a straight up evil dictatorship that gasses people and hails Hitler after every breath. From a strengths and weaknesses point of view the country is fairly advanced and has high living standards for the upper middle class and wealthy, but the country also is relatively small compared to some of the less advanced countries that will have larger populations, ie !notChina and !notRussia. They might be advanced, but still don't have the resources to just steamroll other nations. Also, there's two regions that wish to break away, and both of them must be kept in check to avoid a major situation over the matter. At the time of this application, Ventium will actually be fighting a war in the Beska province against rebels. Furthermore there's undercurrents of internal instability even though it's not overt.
If asked to reduce the strength of your nation, how would you do so?: The population could be reduced unless the GDP per capita would be too high in which case the GDP could be reduced also.

Segovia was born in 1368 due to a royal marriage between 2 smaller kingdoms, and the conquest of many minor neighbors. Segovia took on the seas by colonizing parts of the world and spreading religion and culture to its conquered lands. The nation would have been a force to be reckoned with until the 1700s, where weak monarchs took control, and made the nation lose some of its colonial holdings as well as some of the mainland. Eventually, the nation would attempt a revolution removing the crown, but would ultimately have its monarchy be reinstated once more as a Constitutional Monarchy.

In the 20th century, the nation was embroiled in a civil war, where Socialism tried to take control in the nation. However, the Monarchist forces defeated the Communists and Socialists keeping the nation as is. The kings of Segovia eventually began to appear less and less in politics during the 60s through 70s, only playing a role if the people desperately needed them. As of today, the nation remains a more traditionalist state, while advocating for a freer market and society. Let's see what the future holds in store for Segovia.

Think of Spanish weather, very warm and humid summers, and cool winters. The geography will mostly have mountainous and rugged terrain in the North, while the south will be flatter with nice beaches and whatnot.

I feel like Segovia will exist as a modern Western European state today, it will not be too immensely powerful, yet it will be a nation to take note of in its region. I feel like Segovia will have a weak navy, as well as not be too rich by natural resources, which will play a role in its history.
If asked to reduce the strength of your nation, how would you do so?:
Easily by shrinking my land claim as well as my population. I feel as though this will suffice.

Brief background of nation: Asadal is an ancient empire, one that can trace its dynastic history back to the dawn of recorded history. The empire is a patchwork of various sub-states, with the Hwangje (Emperor) only holding direct absolute authority over a small part of the empire's territory. The rest is controlled by a mish-mash of local monarchs, warlords, temples, free cities, monastic orders, democratically-elected parliaments or oligarchs, only united in subservience to the Hwangje. Each territory makes its own laws, although the Hwangje and the Imperial Bureaucracy ensure some laws are enforced universally, collects its own taxes, has its own army and police force, and pay some of their tax revenue to the Hwangje, who along with his own army, is also responsible for maintaining a national navy and air force.

Geography and climate of nation: Asadal is split by a long mountain range that runs down the center of the country, with most of the populace being concentrated to either side of the mountain range. The south is a tropical rainforest, with wide fertile plains and small forests in the center and north of the country

POWER PROJECTION:
How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses): Although populous, and possessed of great industrial and military might and natural resources, enough so it has the potential to be a superpower, Asadal simply cannot actually practically use this. The extremely byzantine and bureaucratic nature of its government along with the numerous internal ethnic divisions and the decentralised nature of much of this military power means that the Empire is very much a sleeping dragon, but one that if awoken would be terrifying to behold.
If asked to reduce the strength of your nation, how would you do so?: Increase the internal conflicts to a wide-ranging low-level insurgency from various ethnic minorities against the government, reduce the number of people.

Geography and climate of nation: The climate of the UPR is humid subtropical climate, although there are other climate regions in the UPR, including rainforest in the south, and desert in the far eastern regions. The nation has a wet and dry season. These seasons see drastic shifts in the water levels of the nation, the dry season seeing the nation faced with a shortage of water and hot sun, and in the wet season having to deal with an abundance of water, flooding many parts of the country. Dealing with the effects of the seasons is one of the major issues faced by the Worker's Party of the UPR. In terms of geography the nation is majority flat fertile plains, with vast mountains in the north, desert in the east, and rainforest in the south. The massive population of the UPR depends on the river system of the nation, fed by the Namialya Mountains to the north, which have some of the highest peaks in Enceladus, and the Daliasa Plateau which the state wants to keep control of, and prevent damming. The geography has allowed the nation to grow to it's current population size, and isolated it from the rest of the world. With the burgeoning population many question if the environment of the UPR can be sustained.

Roleplay sample (optional, but required if applying for a larger role/nation): The delegation had flown for hours, long tiresome hours, to the far away city of Fortnouveau. Finally arriving inside the airport the delegates got a secretary to get their bags and walked to the limo. To the Terncans this wasn't an extremely relevant summit so not many important officials had attended, however the Economic Minister and several major SOE chiefs had. The most excited visitor was Belcho Yankov, an economics major made chief of ATP. They made their way to a convoy of limos at the gate and weaved their way through the city.

The limos were shiny dark black, long, and with a Terncan flag on the top. Guarded by several security vehicles it was quite a long convoy compared to the others. A lot of the officals after a long flight and days of egregious study in preparation they were understandably tired.

"Shame Adams back in Terncow, this is quite a nice tropical city"

The Economic Minster would remarked as they drove through the city. His face showed the marks of fatigue, he was the most tired off all, being an old man quite used to such events. Talk was scarce in the cabins, most officials trying to catch up on sleep. Midway during the drive to make sure he questioned.

"Anyways, do wee have the final documents for ATP ?, oh and climate change, the two most pressing concerns for us. The Volgarian and Newreyan war is far away, not much of a concern, I guess we can mediate."

The awoken officials inside that limo nodded and signaled for an aide to give him a binder, marked on it "ATP Plans". The Economic Minister opened it and nodded through the pages. He gave a thumbs up as they arrived into the hotel. He led the delegation into the hotel, 20 people in total, some old faces some new ones such as ambitious Belcho Yankov, the planned leader of the Aeian Trade Pact.

While entering the hotel the Economic Minister signaled Belcho, and began talking to him.

"Do as you're told and don't cause any trouble, this is your first summit, alright? Just because Stoev is here doesn't mean you two need to fight. And prepare your speech, it was custom made just for you and if you don't know it we'll find another person. I'm sure if you do all of that it should be fine."

"Don't worry sir, I can handle myself".

The officials were extremely exhausted and walked over to their rooms deciding to take naps instead of convening with other officials. Belcho Yanko had gotten a room with ambitious chairman for Tersonos who was a suitor for his post.

"Know your place young man" he taunted him while entering the room "you're just a little newbie, and don't let good post blind you"

Belcho in response simply smirked at him and began to passively aggressively taunt him. The two men didn't get along, quite obviously.

The only general in attendance walked over to the Volgarian delegation's room quietly, and knocked very softy, he didn't want anyone to know. With him a folder marked "CLASSIFED, Hazardous Materials" he was welcomed in. Not many knew what they were meeting for...

With hundreds of these states swept up under the control of the United People's Raj, the eastern states not yet conquered by the masses met together in a conference in Ahmedapur- the richest city in Audhadesh at the time-, the Sultanate of Maharagar, to discuss the state's plans for staying independent from the communist insurrection. Eventually, 94 princely states signed the Treaty of Ahmedapur, uniting the states under the banner of the 'Great Saffron Empire of Audhadesh', a federal absolute monarchy under the Maharaja*, united against the United People's Raj. Audhadesh is dominated largely by large, fertile plains that extend from the coast inwards, surrounding the coastal regions of Audhadesh. Most of Audhadesh's population is concentrated here, as the density of population begins to become more sparse in the hilly, rural regions of inner Audhadesh. Most of Audhadesh lies in a fertile, alluvial plain with many rivers and an extensive irrigation canal system, with belt of undulating hills extends along the northeastern part of the country with mountains surrounding it to the north and the east.

Geography and climate of nation:
The border with Ventium will be very rugged and hilly, with mountains and hills creating a natural border. The nation will be mostly in the Mediterranean climate zone, with its north being more chilly and cooler. The nation will mostly have alpine forests, with shrubland by the coast. Snowfall and rainfall will be most common in the Alpine regions to the east, whereas the west will be drier and arid. The arable land will be most common the more west you go as well.

POWER PROJECTION:
How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses):
The nation will be very open to other countries, attempting to keep positive diplomatic relations with all nations. Trade and commerce will be a big deal in Mireval, as it has a very free economy. The population is quite small, meaning the army will not be too large either. The nation could be considered a mid-tier size and strength.
If asked to reduce the strength of your nation, how would you do so?:
Reduce the gdp of my nation, and give it less land, meaning less resources available for the nation.

GEOGRAPHY:
Brief background of nation (or link to iiwiki page): Doubrava is a relatively new nation, having been founded in 1819 following a popular independence movement from TBA. From the onset, Doubrava faced internal problems based on its composition of Doubravans, Volgarians, and numerous smaller slavic groups, forcing a series of republican reforms in an attempt to keep the peace, however this largely consisted of keeping the ethnic groups apart. Ethnic violence wouldn't erupt into fighting until the outbreak of not!WW1, with Doubravans supporting the TBA and the Volgarians supporting the TBA, leading to an invasion by the TBA. However, the invading force proved kind to neither Volgarians nor Doubravans, leading to the creation of the Doubra-Volgarian Army, which repulsed the invaders and united the Republic between the two ethnicities. From then, the state concerned itself with its own survival, however it was absorbed into the much larger TBA (slavic union) following the not!WW2. It wasn't till 1986 that the state became independent again, with the following decades comprising of rebuilding the damaged state and reinvigorating its infrastructure and populace.

Geography and climate of nation: The geography of Doubrava is exceedingly varied, with the western portion being much more hilly than the flatter regions of the east. Climate wise, it is very temperate.

How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses): Despite being a republic, Doubrava would align itself with the Volgarian bloc, acting as a sort of buffer and supporting state, while also using its Slavic Doubravans to communicate with other Slavic states in the world.
If asked to reduce the strength of your nation, how would you do so?: Reduce population and GDP

Eventually, Loralia would drift further from Asadal, until the point that the island nation was considered de facto independent. A cadet branch of the Sun Dynasty would split off a few centuries ago, and come to head Loralia. The alliance between Loralia and parts of Asadal, however, never faltered, and this led to a closeness that would see the unique placement of Loralia amongst the Asadali states in a union state of two modern, completely independent countries with their own ethnicities, languages, militaries, currencies, technologies, and economies. The symbiotic nature of the two countries, however, with each likely to be each other’s largest trade partner, makes them close-knit, and positive relations a must-have, while raising the important of interacting with the two neighbors simultaneously on the international stage to keep relations at their highest positive.

Geography and climate of nation: Loralia is divided into multiple principle climatic zones, the nation known for a primarily temperate climate that can vary greatly from north, to south, to islands near the mainland. It enjoys moderate, but frequent precipitation - especially in spring and winter months - and shares storm seasons with its IRL inspiration. Kaiju season also happens in the summer months, with great swaths of the island nation devastated. It has a diverse environment with notable biodiversity, with several ecological zones, as well.

POWER PROJECTION:
How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses): Loralia is a major player economically, as well as technologically, and has a military befitting of a regional power, with a respectable army and air force, and a highly capable navy. Currently, its military is analogous to the RL Japanese navy, with a moderate size boost.Loralia is highly reliant on external agriculture, however, with it only exporting specialized products, cultural goods, and the culture of the Loralian peoples itself. It relies on trade for influence. Loralia must also navigate a complex Asadali political environment, with a young, but not necessarily inexperienced emperor (he has been in power without a regent since age 16, and is now 24) that has lost respect amongst other Asadali in the Imperial Court and some sub-states due to rumors regarding his sexuality (he is also being pressured to marry to save face), and a highly respected Prime Minister whom some would rather approach than the Emperor, which tests the largely positive relationship of a woman who has taken the place of mentor for the Emperor and remains one of the most powerful women in the larger history of the Asadali and their offshoots. Loralia is a lot like Prussia in the Asadali version of the HRE. It has a complex history with world powers, as well, having tested itself against neighbors more than once in years gone long passed (though today is has more cordial relationships than not), and having none of the fear of acting bravely on an international stage as Japan does (Loralia is even somewhat imperialist). Outside of the Asadali ecosystem, Loralia is an important nation, but it struggles to find its place in a world where its survival and importance is threatened by the U.P.R. and the very Asadali people Loralia and her people hail from.

Kemoth knew the power of family. She was not unlike Mystra Capulet in that she too had grandchildren. She had a massive family, and was the leader of an entire species. She would kill for them, and that started by killing the Sith and enemies to the Jedi cause. She would become a traitor for them, and that started with the Jedi. She would align nation-states for them, desolate populations, use biological weapons against innocents for them. In her rage, in her fervor to protect family, anything was possible for Kemoth. Lying was the least problematic matter for others when it came to Kemoth and what she was willing to do, for what she was willing to do sometimes upset her own balance and made Kemoth question if she were truly a monster. Had the Arkanians succeeded in creating monsters? That wasn’t the point. That wasn’t Kemoth’s question here. Considering what she would do for her own family, then what in the universe was Mystra Capulet willing to do for hers.

She was on the top floor of the Tetan AsterCorp Obelisk, her corporation’s planetary headquarters, which rose into the sky as a twin helix circling a spiralling tower of black and moon silver hope with an orb at the top held by the helix and tower in a cradle that made a half-circling crescent around it. That was what AsterCorp wished to bring, after all - it was all in the name and, admittedly, seemed to be rather arrogant, but AsterCorp was good at what it did. What does it do, exactly? Well, a bit of everything.

The obelisk was an architectural marvel with a completely self-sustained ecosystem. Yes, ecosystem. It was full of life, and the air would seemingly smell like the favorite scent of whomever was walking through it thanks to a permanent illusion cast by the mnemosyneae. There, dreams were engineered into starlight and poor ideas were reforged into something better. It has sisters, too, on other worlds, but right now this one held Kemoth of Asteria going through a datapad containing information from police forces on interesting or extremely suspicious searches.


It was just like the last time. Police would once more escort a woman, this time disarming her and preventing any weapons other than their own from entering her great tower, to Kemoth of Asteria and then questions regarding the future of Mystra Capulet would be pursued, and the path of the Krath could very well be altered, however slightly. Perhaps an ally would come out of this line of questioning. The obelisk was becoming Kemoth’s personal fortress and palace, where she could dictate the lives of millions, and send orders for the killing of thousands. Kemoth was in a powerful position, especially in regards to another member of the Krath. Mystra Capulet could be fatal if left unwatched. However, Kemoth had a feeling of something strange from the woman. Something was different… too different.

Kemoth wasn’t sure if that revelation brought her uneasiness or serenity. This sensation was different, too.

Any other info you wish to add (optional): Loralia and proximal territories are under the defense of the Yata no Kagami Airspace Defense System, designed by the current Prime Minister, and deployed relatively recently. This is mostly just a note so that I don’t forget it. Loralia’s defense budget is somewhat higher than Japan’s, but they are thinking of raising it to a more standard 3% of the budget to compete internationally.

Loralia, the Imperial family, and a number of Asadali sub-states have some of the oldest ongoing alliances in the world, with the oldest tracing back to the 9th century.

GEOGRAPHY:
Brief background of nation colony (or link to iiwiki page): The current state of Herian West-Obscara started in the mid 17th century in the midst of a Herian golden age. A group of colonists led by Ard Stavorinus successfully managed to reach Obscara from an alternative route not involving the narrow not!English Channel. Stavorinus' crew were later assisted by two more crews to enslave the native black population and used the slaves for farming spices and coffee which was then sold for big profits in Adonian markets. The end of slavery in the early 19th century caused a downfall in the economy which was supplanted by a prison on the island where many people worked. When the prison closed in the 1980's, violence errupted caused by the mixed-race and black populations causing a period of struggle which has still not ended, causing many West-Obscarans to move to mainland Heria.
