Deadline for Entries; Voting Begins - 3. September, 20:00 BST
Voting Closes - 10. September, 20:00 BST

A beginner's guide...

Welcome to the WorldVision Song Contest, based on the Eurovision Song Contest, aiming to provide and unite nations from different parts of the World through music. The WorldVision Song contest is an outlet to showcase the popular or native music of your nation. As with every contest, there are a few simple rules and regulations that you'll need to follow.

 1. To start, you must sign up for the contest. Do so by using the form below and posting that you sign up in this thread. Make sure you sign up before the cutoff date. You won't be penalized if you sign up and don’t end up posting a song. You then post the song in the IC thread after a host vote (see previous contests to see what a "normal" post looks like).
 2. At the end of the host bidding period, all nations which have signed up at that point may vote for the nation that will host the contest. Instructions will be posted by this account, and all host votes should be telegrammed to this account as well. The winning bidding nation will then create the IC thread.
 3. The contest is based upon the Eurovision Song Contest: nations will "perform" their song. No real-life song can be entered into the WorldVision Song Contest; of course, the melody can be used (usually linked via YouTube). At least 80% of the song’s lyrics must be original, and translations are not allowed. Nations are free to choose to host a national final or internally select their representative. English is not compulsory, and other languages are encouraged.
 4. Once the IC thread has been posted whenever the winning bidding nation chooses, nations will submit songs before the deadline. After the deadline nations may not edit or alter their song in any way, unless otherwise instructed by the Committee. Also, after the deadline and any interval act (wait for the signal from the host nation), nations vote, ranking their top ten songs in the following format: 12-10-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 in the IC thread. Nations may not vote for themselves. All nations that post a song in the IC thread must vote.

If you don't know how to sign up, use this form below; this should help. Not all of these fields have to be filled in, but it certainly helps.

Code: Select all
Nation Name: Your nation's name goes here.
Official Broadcaster: Your official broadcaster for WV goes here.
Song Title: The IC Song title goes here.
Artist(s) Name(s): The name of your act goes here.

Tune: The real life tune you're basing your song on goes here.

 1. A debutante nation cannot bid to host the WorldVision Song Contest. A nation must have entered and completed one edition in order to qualify to host a following edition. Furthermore, a nation that has put a host bid CANNOT vote for their own bid. This ensures a democratic and fair result.
 2. At least 80% of the song’s lyrics must be original, and translations of real life songs will result in disqualification. If you suspect another entry to be either wholly or mostly plagiarised, please telegram the WorldVision Committee with your concerns. The committee will then review the entry before making a judgement. If your entry is disqualified for whatever reason, you will not be reinstated even if you edit your entry.
 3. All nations that post a song in the IC thread must vote. Failure to do so will result in a one-contest ban.
 4. Each nation may enter ONE puppet nation (that is another nation controlled by the same player); the master nation must confirm their puppet on the thread. Should a nation is found to be in breach of the one-puppet nation rule, sanctions and a disqualification will be put in place.
 5. If a nation enters a puppet nation, the maximum amount of points that can be awarded to each nation is up to five points thus ensuring a fair and more equal chance for all nations to succeed within the Contest. If a nation is found to have awarded a higher amount of points, the Committee will first allow said nation to alter their votes. If said nation fails to adhere to Committee reminders, the votes will be rendered void and will result in disqualification. A user controlling a master and puppet nation together can only award a third nation a total of 18 points.
 6. Under no circumstances will bullying, offensive and/or intimidating language or provocations of any form be accepted within the Contest, within both IC and OOC threads. WorldVision promotes peaceful and friendly environment. Failure to comply will result in disqualification. If at any point, you feel you are a victim, or feel someone has been victimized by another nation, contact the Committee, or a member of the Committee immediately. The Committee will ensure anonymity/confidentiality at all times.
 7. Only the current host of a Contest or the WorldVision Committee can reveal results during the voting process. Conspiring with fellow users to rig any of the votes is illegal and will result in sanctions.
 8. Users may "reserve" slots in the running order of the contest, but if you do so and don't finish your entry by the deadline, you will receive a one-contest ban. An entry is accepted if it has a complete set of lyrics, regardless of whether stage directions have been finalized or not. You may also state that you are withdrawing from the contest on the OOC thread.
 9. Users may not edit their entries or votes after the deadlines for any reason, including spelling or grammatical errors, unless otherwise instructed to by the Committee. If you'd like to edit something in after the deadline, please ask the Committee for permission first.

So basically, be original, try to be fair, don't be a jerk, and have fun. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to TG the Committee- it helps if you add the Committee's individual member names (Antahbrantahstan, Kalosia, Togonistan, Todlichebujoku, Darkmania) in the "To:" box along with "WorldVision Committee" for a faster response.

Even if you've missed the deadline or aren't participating, feel free to discuss the contest in this thread or post commentary in the IC. You'll find that people greatly appreciate some good commentary.

With all that said, welcome to WorldVision!

"Welcome to Izmepisma. 9 songs have been chosen out of a field of hundreds waiting for their shot at Izmedu's WorldVision baton, but only one song can remain standing"

The success for Izmepisma keeps chugging along as PRIAMAIKI brings home a more than respectable 3rd place. While this did mildly disappoint some in RTI that were hoping for a win, this proved that the new style of the Izmeduan entry was finding more success and that the Izmeduan language's long-term prospects were more secure than realized. In light of this, as well as a desire to take a more laid-back approach, RTI has opted to have a more upbeat style in the lead up to WorldVision 67. The channel desired to see how far they can continue exploring Izmedu's more upbeat approach to the WorldVision stage. Of course, the search for a win was still at the back of RTI's minds as they pored through the entries that would continually be sent to the channel.

Despite the more chilled approach after four concerted efforts since Izmedu's comeback in WV63, the field of submissions turned out to be even more competitive. Artists, both returning and new, sent out songs almost en masse that led RTI to contemplate about 850 entries for Izmepisma consideration. After 2 televoting only semi-final rounds, 9 entries now stand before you that comprise the Izmepisma Grand Final. These songs await your international jury votes.

THE OFFICIAL PLAYLIST FOR IZMEPISMA

Song #1
Pavao V. - Bissim me
Translation: Kiss me
Tune: Slavko - El ritmo

Song #2
Daria Topalovic - Takem

Tune: Maya Berović - Broj

Translation: Cherry Tree
Tune: Katarína Knechtová - Svety

Song #9
Anastazija Kljuic – El jugr jugram
Translation: The Game I Play
Tune: Полина Гагарина - Камень на сердце

International juries will vote by ranking their top 7 songs in the following format. 12 points to their favorite, 10 to their 2nd, 8 to their 3rd, then 6, 4, 2, and 1 points for 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th respectively. Your least favorite 2 songs will not receive any votes. To vote, simply send a TG to Izmedu with the format or send a Discord DM to Izmedu#6997 (and if you have a national final, let me know and I will vote for yours in return).

The final result of Izmepisma will be determined through a 50/50 split of the international jury and public vote. The amount of points that the public will give out will be determined by how many international juries vote for the national final.

DEADLINE FOR VOTES: TUESDAY, AUGUST 14TH, 9:00PM PDT

Örkemdrem`67 #MakeYourStory

OFFICIAL BID ANNONCENT FOR WSC 67: Örkendrem, Darkmania

”Make Your Story"

After the sucees of hosting World Hit Festival 39, DaTV`s counsil voted 7-2 to launch a bid for Worldvision (Or WSC). After a delay in order to get more funds, DaTV thereby takes one of the biggest risks in order to bring Bigger World Hit Festival to Darkmania for the first time.

 • Örkendrem, The City Of Friends
Image

Örkendrem is the capital city of Darkmania. Founded around 991- 995, it's not only the biggest city in Darkmania, it`s one of the oldest cities in Darkmania, if not the oldest city. With a population around 12 Million, it is born for events like Bigger World Hit Festival, or Worldvision. There is always something to do in the Capital City. There are over 100 museums to visit, 34 parks, 150 bars, 24 pubs and 111 statues to see. There are famous areas to explore, like Härnga Park, the Old Town Square (Pictured) and weirdly, the underground metro. There is always something to do here. So don't complain if our town is boring, ya dingus!

Örkendrem is also the LGBT+ capital of Darkmania, being the location of the famous gay bars “Shockwaves” and “Ürgüra” (SnakeIn Darkmanian, using western variant). Örkendrem has always been an LGBT+ safe haven, even doing the dictatorship from 1988- 2004, when folk placed somewhere on the LGBT+ was frowned upon. Today, Örkendrem will bring the ga… I mean "FANS" to them. Örkemdrem welcomes you with open arms. There is always something to do regardless of you are gay, straight or leaving.

Image

 • Venue And Stage
Image

With “Örkendrem Nätionaljë Foëtbäll Arëna” (Örkendrem National Football (Soccer) Arena) hosting the WHF, the choice is on the other big stadium in Örkendrem, Dëritee Ärenä located in the Ismëdÿ Disctict. Dëritee is a name of a car brand made in Darkmania if you ask. It will be referred to in contest as "Örkemdrem Ärenä. It's actually bigger than ÖNFA, but this is more used for concerts and is going to be closed as a sports-venue by the end of April 2019. With 40 000 seats, plus 5 000 more, the performer will be cheered no matter where you come from. A kalosian might cheer on a mister xian. A brionish might cheer on a vartugian... And so on. Your performer gets to play with 3 steady cams,2 shoulder cams, 20 studio cams and much more on a no LED Stage.

Image

With the success of the no LED wall at WHF39, DaTV opts for a no LED stage as well. This time, its a bit bigger than the simple stage used in ÖNFA, but for a big event like Worldvision, you need to opt for a big stage to give your performer a time of their lives. The things hanged on the wall is movable, and there is two bridges around a half circle surrounded by the audience. The two bridges on stage are based on the two main brides used to connect the island of "ÏndöStädt", the biggest island in Darkmania where you will meet 100 000 darkmanian, 30,4 kilometres from the Old Town.

 • Your Two Hosts
Image

A duo all female host (or hostess) will be hosting this event.

Märÿa Hüster is a comedian who was one of the chioces for being a host for WHF, but declined. She later regretted that and will be "the main" host. She is know for her satirical role of the somewhat unpopular president Clare Jügir and many other roles. And no, she don't speaks Russian.

Rëbeccä Rÿstamirn, of Vartugian decent, is a singer and actress of many films. She is the greenroom host and with her colourfull banter, she will colour the event with joy, and pride of the music. Also, why does she look like Kärolina Füks? Is it like she is her?

 • Details for the postcards
Image
The postcard will be a group of fans cheering on their entry with the text "Good Luck (Country)".

 • Hosting Portfolio.
Darkmania has hosted only one event so far, but the experience of it was amazing so we therefore bid. “Take Risks And Get Rewards”

Host of WHF39

The camerawork is half Norwegian (See Oslo 2010) and half Swedish (Malmö 2013 & Stockholm 2016). We are good with the cranes, and the steadycams.
Hosts speak in a "English is not our native tounge" with a hint of Scandinavian accent.
Darkmanian police will guard the event for illegal acts, such as stage inastions.

Today the Christarnean Public Television (KTVP) has confirmed its participation in the 67th WorldVision Song Contest and revealed the successor of Marcowy Zając. It has turned out to be a young experimental band from Ficer - Tygrys-Eufrat consisting of 27-years-old charismatic vocalist - Paweł Szmyt and his friends - Mateusz Ogórek (26) and Adam Piwoński (28). The boys are working on their debut album. One of their first non-album single "Freud" featuring Ana Anatoliya, known for participating in the Chirtearnean "Voix" gave them some recognition around Christarnea. However, they are not that famous in the country. They were chosen to represent Christarnea with their brand new single "Wężownik" (Ophiuchus) that is written fully in Polish. However the boys probably will provide a few changes in a language of the final version.

The Rusmailican Public Television (RTVP) decided to follow the Christarnean footprints and confirms its participation in the next WorldVision Song Contest as well. The first and last time at once Rusmailica participated in the contest was 20 editions ago when Kanisha had won the Folkandish public selection. Her "Siedem Warstw" came 11th and Rusmailica has not participated in the contest anymore. The second Rusmailican representative is Dymitr Żarnowski better known under his stage name Dymitrov. He is a 28-years-old singer, a son of Anna Żarnowska (53) who represented Rusmailica in the 1st Junior World Hit Festival as Ania. Dymitrov has just released his first EP consisting of five Polish-language singles. "Polowanie na Niedźwiedzie" (Hunting for the bears) is the last one. Dymitrov says that this song is his gate to record his first long-play album and he does not deny that he wants to release it worldwide. Therefore we guess that you will hear the English version of this single soon.

Proluvia, the screaming voice in the back of Nekoni's head, is pleased with their performance last time thanks to not finishing in the bottom three, so naturally we're entering again with both blind faith and belief that thanks to extrapolation, we might be the favourites to win.

Kdam-WorldVision

Following a successful 5th place finish for Raffiah in its first edition at WorldVision, Kdam is back to find Raffiah's next WorldVision star. Despite the success, ASHRA did have to reduce the budget slightly, as the earnings from a successful WorldVision were not quite as big as what they expected. With a reduced lineup at this year's Kdam, there is still no shortage of quality, with eight songs competing for a place at both WorldVision for the winner, and World Hit Festival for the runner up. The songs will compete in one final, with the vote being a mixture of international juries and the domestic televoting.

Song 01. Yusuf Ajami & Sara Ereira
Across The Wall

Edis ft. Emina - Güzelliğine

It was announced today that the PNB confirmed their participation in the upcoming Worldvision Song Contest, and has again opted for a National Final to determine their entry. Prior to the last Worldvision Song Contest, hopes were high that Macks & Amir would bring the trophy back to Polkopia after a 16-year drought, and every step was taken in order to ensure that the duo would secure a respectable place. However, when the results came in, it showed that, despite the Polkopian delegation's best efforts, Polkopia placed a disappointing 15th place, marking Polkopia's worse result since the 23rd edition of the contest, where Polkopia placed 16th. Despite this, the song, Davai Polkopiya, remains in the Top 10 in Polkopian charts, and has been streamed by fans across the multiverse.

So what was to be done for Polkopia's poor result? Gregori Životsev, head of the Worldvision committee, announced in joint-meeting with Viktor Vyonshchik, who leads the team responsible for the Landa vy Polkopiya, that they would revert back to the old system of the contest, where they would allow ten songs to be in the Grand Final rather than seven. With this, they hope to bring a more diverse array of songs, and increase the chances of having a potential Worldvision-winning song in the competition. The voting for the competition will be the same as before as well - in the typical Worldvision format (12 points to the favorite, 10 points to the second favorite, 8 points for the third, and 7-1 points for the rest).

At this point, the ten songs taking place in the Grand Final have been released to the public and are available for the public to listen to online. Fans can visit the website at http://www.PNB/shows/Landa_vy_Polkopiya.plk to listen to the songs.

Normandy and Picardy sign up once more. NNN and NTV are currently in talks to jointly fund the entry, and NNN are currently in talks with a number of broadcasters in order to help choose an entry. Details of the entry will be revealed as of when a decision is made.

Tag, guessing we can't have songs expressing our nation's violent tendencies?
Local 22 year old Diet Coke Addict College Student Ruins Everything

Quote of the Week: "A NEW STORY ON WRITING THREAD FOR HALLOWEEN!! MYSTERY MINE AVAILABLE NOW!"

RPs I do
- How do you do fellow kids? You want to see something violent? - Artemis: Deimos Trafficking League (Horror/Mature)
- Descend into the forgotten tourist traps of Florida on this transgressive RP! - The Community (Mature/Black Comedy/Slice-of-Life)

My overall account that I use for P2TM and even for international roleplaying! MNM is a mysterious and extremely dangerous dictatorship filled with supernatural oddities, demons, militarized soldiers everywhere, and a misanthropic nihilistic dictator who doesn't give a damn. It's basically if the SCP Foundation got mixed with 1984.

You can, but they tend not to be very successful.
