We're definitely not loved, but we'd say we're liked, admired, and respected by a fair amount of people, though governments will differ from civilians on this opinion. We wouldn't say we have a rival nation, although with our extreme libertarian beliefs on almost any major debate there are bound to be a few authoritarian countries who would try to take the title

While Holly is liked and loved by a good majority, there are always others who hated her because of the sheer amount of energy that she isn't sharing, or because they find her to be too isolated and anti-social.

We rank rather lowly by citizens whom live in the United States at about less than 1%; however, in countries such as Scandinavia and South Africa we rank far more highly with 76% in Scandinavia and 94% in South Africa. In the Kingdom of Madagascar it is very much unknown as the state is extremely secretive meaning we know almost nothing about it. (In California it's about 95% approval)

[The Northeastern Confederation]

To the immediate neoghbours the Northeastern Confederation is, on average, seen with suspicion.

To the south there is the Capixabas, who are a protectorate of the NC see us with the most love, especially Salvador - the most southern of the five City-States - since they have been protecting them from mineiros for hundreds of years and never manage - althoug we intended - to actually annex them for good. They get protection and privileged access to the northeastern markets, which makes them pretty confortable. They hate who we hate, they like us, they enjoy our relationship and trade with us. The geopolitical definition of true love.

To the northwest there is the Tocantinians. Those guys don't like us, except when they do. They were usually part of the Rural Commonwhealth before being occupied by Paulistas - more on those guys later -, when we really started to hate them with our guts and vice versa. After several conflicts, the relationship evolved to a more pragmatic one: They border the Central Government, one of our adversaries, and they need a balance between us and the Centrals in order to not being attacked by neither. So, everytime they feel threatened, they call us, and when the centrals fall back, they get back at hating us.

The Central Government - basically the brazillian federal government resided in Brasília - is more consistent in their lack of appreciation towards us. They basically say that we are a rebelious fake government without legitimacy and that they are the true heirs of the Brazillian Republic. Which makes us a bit annoyed, though we have extensive trade with them, especially in the mining sector. They dispute with us the supremacy over Minas gerais and the northern araguaia river basin. They just like us when we want some raw materials from them, and even then they sell it at very high prices.
Basically they hate us, cos they ain't us.

Talking about Mineiros, those guys trully hate us. They keep trying to enter the country illegally and bring their addictive cheese with them, and when we arrest&deport them, they complain - when they don't make terrorist attacks against us. When we go to their stateless homeland to tackle the militia problem over there - they produce and sell the drug-cheese and use the money to fund their terrorist activities - they then say that we are in a genocidal campaign agains the mineiro people and culture. They attack us and then keep hating us because we rightfully defend ouselves. Go figure.

South of them there is the Cariocas, they use to love some of us - The late citatel of Olinda and Salvador -, but after a few centuries of changes in the political landscape of both places, our relationship is mostly defined by mutual disgust AND respect. The contradiction is because of on the moral aspect they are a corrupt moralistic evangelical theocracy who opresses their people in the name of God. While we are a liberal democracy where people praticly walk naked, we ensure the rights of our Gender, Sexual & Romantic Minorities, we have freedom of religion and we invest a lot in science. When we go there to sell our values alongside our products, they get furious and the reciprocal is also true. That being said, they border Minas and São Paulo, which makes us the enemies of their enemies. Also, they are a huge consumer market for us and they can ignore our degeneracy and heresy as long as we deliver the goodies for them. Overall, they hate the concept of which we represent, but love the fact that we exist.

Now, the great haters of the Notheastern Confederation: São Paulo. They hate us with their souls. over a century ago they lanched a series of raids, which evolved to coordinated attacks to the northeast, as well as the rest of Brazil which were called "Novas bandeiras". They basically invaded, sacked, occupied and sometimes razed several of our citties. But we defeated them and we made sure that they would never come back. After their humiliating defeat they went into further caos which they of course blame us for it. They see us as their geopolitical enemy and as long as we exist they will never be able to rise "again". The thing is, they're poor because after the great catastrophe they didn't manage to organize themselves quickly enough to overcome the scavenging economy. Once this model died, they died too and became stuck in an eternal phase of "catch up" in relation to the more advanced economies (which they will never fulfill since they use almost every single penny that they have in their military budget). That's their fault, not ours.
They hate us so much that they end up hurting themselves in the process.

After the big ones, there is some other honorable mentions:

The Amazonians like us a bit. They are neutral in almost every aspect towards us, except for trade, which they engage with us with the most enthusiasm.

The Gaúchos don't like the fact that we are a mix of several races and end up thinking of us as undiserving of the wealth that we have, but since they also don't like the paulistas and we are a very good market for them, they shake our hands without hesitation.

The Uruguayans respect us but see us as adversaries in the south-american/south-atlantic stage. We are a naval power, they too. We are an economic powerhouse, they too. We project power to the interior of Brazil, they too. But, we are too far from eachother to be an existencial threat, therefore, we just say some hursh words here and there and move on to bomb Minas again.

The Rural Commonwealth is a bit fond of us since we buy tons of things from them and deliver the best and cheapest tech they could get. Beyond that, they also have to deal with Paulistas and the Centrals, which we help them with ocasionally.

The Andeans are mostly neutral towards us. We're too far away from eachother.

The Guyanas have some griveances towards us since we guarantee the Independence of Macapá. This last one sees us just as a way to buy time and weapons in the inevitable war against the Guyanas.

And Acre of course, does not exist.

Yeah. They really, really hate us, and pretty much everyone else. An interplanetary tech clan sort of likes us, but space pirates don't like us either. We don't know the Fursarian Empire's opinion, but they would probably be pissed off at us for reclaiming Earth while they forgot about us.

Depends on who you're asking about.

For the civilian population of other countries: We are mostly universally loved. The "small-government" advocates love the legalization of drugs and prostitution. The conservatives love the business-friendly climate. The liberals love the universal healthcare system and welfare. Our nation is seen as a "safe haven" for tourists, a country where tourists don't have to worry about corrupt officials or being robbed.

For the leaders of other countries: We are almost universally hated. We have embassies at very few nations. Our open-border policy makes other countries look bad. Our legalized opium/cannabis farming works against their "war on drugs" that they pretend to fight. And, most importantly, we call out human rights abuses wherever they are committed. The US hates us, for example, because we strongly condemned their immigration policy, even before the child-separation.

In short, the general public of other countries sees our country as a good place to vacation or even move to, but the leaders of other countries hate us because we aren't willing to play politics.

Opinions kinda varies from different nations. Our allies including Colombia see us as their brother-in-arms, meanwhile others like Nicaragua and Venezuela sees us a major threat to their existence. The Americans have mixed feelings towards us because we are one of their important Latin American allies while at the same time we're heavily authoritarian, meanwhile the Zhouranese, Russians and Chinese see us as a great ally.

Loves us because:

Hates us because:

• Our modern interpretation of Islam opposes their more fundamentalist views in some matters.
• We kinda helped one of their provinces achieve a level of autonomy like Hong Kong from 1997-2042.

Neo-Ottoman Empire
Loves us because:

• We fought together with Arabia against Zionists.
• A lot of them secretly enjoy Kpop and Chinese movies.

Hates us because:

• Like Arabia, they dislike our more lenient approach when it comes to religion
• They find our lack of interventionism as a sign of "uncaring behaviour" towards the good outside Asian borders.

The Vatican
Loves us because:

• We help each other out with supernatural threats.
• We gave them control of the whole Italian peninsula.

Hates us because

• They think all vampires and werewolves as demons and they don't like that we're treating these people the way we should be, like people.
• Some of them still don't like the idea of a global caliphate, which was partially our doing.

The Union of Communist Caribbean States
Loves us because:

• We give them generous loans and donations
• We both fight American terrorists.

Hates us because:

• They don't like the idea of a caste system.

Aside from these nations, we are loved by our closest ally, Ascion, and African and Aboriginal nations. We're hated by the Scandinavians and Tonaluia, but they hate everyone.
