One is that the monarch is assumed to be male as it's referenced as a "he", and I'm sure that some people who chose to have a monarchy have a female as their monarch. The next is that the fourth option is too long, as well as most of them. I definitely think it can be streamlined and still keep the essence of what's being proposed. Another problem is one that I think many people have a problem with, and its employing comedy into their options. I am by no means good at comedy, so I can't help you there, but hopefully someone more experienced than me can help you with this draft.

I changed the pronouns to more gender neutral pronouns, either "he or she" or "they".
I do get that it is long, and I could streamline it.

Alternatively you could add the @@HE@@ macro, which would allow for the random names to be male or female, and the pronouns would refelect that.

I get what you mean, but I think I, for the most part, represent all points of view.
I was more exaggerating those points of view, as most issues tend to over-exaggerate.
I will seriously consider it, though.

Thanks. I mean, I like the idea. I ALLWAY need more issues regarding my royal family. I just think that this risks my monarchy. I wouldn’t want to make mine like France in 1750,but not like England’s today.

1) Don't assume that @@LEADER@@ is (or is not) the nation's monarch.
2) Don't assume that @@LEADER@@ is (or is not) part of the royal family.
3) Don't assume the gender of the royal successor (as while we can track whether absolute primogeniture is in place, we can't track if the society is matriarchal or patriarchal).
4) Don't assume that the royal family or possesses or lacks real political power. Don't assume that monarchy precludes democracy, or that monarchy without democracy means the monarch rules, or that monarchy with democracy means a figurehead monarchy.
5) Of course, never assume @@LEADER@@'s relationship status, gender, or presence/absence of children.

The only way to currently gain the Monarchy flag is #461, which does indeed present @@LEADER@@ as the monarch, and @@LEADER@@'s children as the heirs.

Monarchy only assumes that there is a royal family. It does not assume that @@LEADER@@ is actually the monarch.
While having a monarch who is not @@LEADER@@ would make sense in a constitutional monarchy (where the monarch is only a figurehead with little real power), (A) there is currently no issue for bringing about this state of affairs, (B) a figurehead monarch would not have the power to abuse his position in the way this draft assumes, and (C) even if some way to become a constitutional monarchy is ever added, the possibility of being an absolute monarchy where the monarch is indeed @@LEADER@@ would still be very real, so you can't just assume that @@LEADER@@ isn't the monarch, either.
Practically, absolute monarchy where @@LEADER@@ is the monarch and constitutional monarchy where someone else is the monarch are such different things that they should be represented with separate policies. The Monarchy flag that currently exists in the game unambiguously refers to the former.
So no, I'm right and you're wrong. Sorry.

I am not arguing about a desired change to the policy definition. I am stating the policy definition as it is unambiguously already treated in the game. The Free Joy State wrote:Feel free to take up the policy definition in a separate thread, Trott.

There's a different royal issue in the editing room at the moment, with a similar option. That effect line reads: former royals stand on street corners holding "will cut ribbons for money" signs.
Now, you can't use this because it's already taken! But think along those lines.Oppermenia wrote:[effect] the Monarch has no power except showing up on TV and "looking pretty"
