The girl smiled back and replied, "Hi, Hope. I'm Gianna. There was an assembly, but my flight was delayed, so I think we may have missed it. Do you think we should just check any room to see if we can find any staff? My only concern is that they may find us disrespectful if we roam around the school, and I don't want to start off by breaking the rules. Perhaps we can try searching for an auditorium, that is probably where the assembly is, if it is still there."

"Sounds like a plan." the young Dancerian nodded in agreement. "There has to be a map to the dorms somewhere...or to at least a common room..." Thus the two would begin to wander about the hall together, searching and discussing about their respective homelands and hobbies, where Gianna would learn that Hope had a knack for tinkering and robotics.

While Gianna was telling Hope about her interest in foreign languages, they both saw a sign that pointed to the principal's office. "Hope, should we just walk in?" asked Gianna.

Near the location of Gianna Nord and Hope Estheim, several soldiers were being dispatched to escort the two to their dorms. One of them had a tablet to look up the identifies of each foreign exchange student that was registered. "Mr. Estheim and Ms. Nord? We have been send to bring you to your dorms. Uniforms folded neatly into squares were being held by a soldier nearby, where they gave the two their uniforms. After bringing them to the dorm lounge where the other students were, Ryuu radioed for someone on the other end of his walkie talkie to confirm that something was ready. Ryuu made sure that the two new students dropped off their luggage at the pods, before he was able to proceed.

"Seeing everyone has gotten themselves into order, I shall send you all to your first class of the day. One that many students in the nation consider difficult, but worthy for those who wish to do a challenge. English!" Ryuu's words erupted from his mouth, as if the class served some sort of ominous purpose. However, by now, any foreign exchange student who went to use the restrooms or use them to change into their uniforms were in for a nasty surprise. Entering one of the restrooms appeared normal at first with a rectangle tiled floor, metal bathroom stalls, sinks to wash your hands which used motion sensors and a wide mirror. Entering the stall, one would see a camera along the wall, filming any activity that transpired inside the stalls. If one would to have a closer examination of the mirror, they would discover it was a giant monitor that was acting as a giant security camera.

As Ryuu led the foreign exchange students to their first class, most of the students from the nation have arrived to get and drop off their belongings in their lockers. Some students looked briefly at the foreign exchange students, as they pass by while some looked interested in meeting them. Stopping at a classroom door on the second floor, Ryuu opened the door for the students to enter.

The classroom was full of small desks to sit at, which seemed large enough to fit. There was a podium for the teacher to stand at to discuss lessons and educational topics. A metal teacher desk was in the corner, where several random anti-stress toys were scattered around the desktop. The chalkboard happened to be a video screen, where one can use their hand as a drawing tool to make letters. Lastly, a monitor and security camera was on the top corner of the classroom to monitor students in each class. As if, the amount of soldiers wasn't enough, there were about 2 armed soldiers at the back of the class, their rifles at their sides, behaving as statues. Regular students were entering

"For your first teacher of this exchange, he is dedicated in his craft and strives to make sure that the subject he is teaching will be taken seriously. Make sure that you are respectable for him, as he sees himself as a valuable supporter for the Leader and the Ministry itself! I would like to introduce you to a Mr. Asher Dipak." Ryuu said, as a man in his 50's entered the classroom and walked over to the podium to introduce himself. "Ahem. Hello, students and foreign exchange students." Mr. Dipak spoke in a voice of a scientist who had started to go mad. "I'm Mr. Dipak, as our president had said. Here, the foreign students have came to learn the wonders of literature, writing and the human language. If anybody has any questions on the material we will study, please speak in the name of the Leader. Otherwise, you may stay silent."

Excited to ask Mr. Dipak about how the Universalized Occult of the Many Moons impacts Main Ministryian literature, Gianna was contemplating whether to ask him before or after class. However, when she heard Hope's question, her eager look became anxious. She did not want her new friend to get in trouble. She waited for Mr. Dipak's response, hoping that he would not be offended.

Aida spontaneously raised her hand; she wasn't sure what prompted her to do so. "May I speak, or ask something? In the name of the Leader I ask, of course," she said. Oh great, have I fumbled my words? "I attended literature class back in my country, and there we had to read and analyze a bunch of books. Is that what we will be doing here?"

Entering the class with the rest, Alessandro took a seat in the far side, sitting in the second row, meanwhile the leader was giving a a brief summary on the teacher. He noticed the not so subtle guards standing in the back with their guns. "Great, where am I? A school or a prison camp?" he asked himself, growing a bit more agitated each time.

A few moments passed and a funny looking man with goofy hair walked in, he introduced himself as Mr. Dipak. After a quick synopsis he allowed questions, but only in the name of their leader, which he thought was odd. Raising his hand he asked "Excuse me professor, will Dante be discussed here? Also why must I speak in the name of the leader? Can't I speak in my name, my leader's name or the Lord's name?"

After bidding Ada farewell to go change she found herself in the bathroom and a rather unpleasant surprise, a camera! She wasn't sure if she should put on a show for the perps watching or be offended. She did know a few obscene signs she could flash but maybe not best to start trouble. She made due by getting changed out of sight as best she could or at least as much as she could assume and emerged again wearing the school's uniform. She made her way to the classroom took an available seat. She observed Mr. Dipak very carefully to read his lips but even then it was a bit tough but she seemed to get the jist of what he was saying. Something about speaking in the name of the leader. What on earth did that mean? In the name of this nation's leader?

The moment Estheim made a snarky comment about what Mr. Dipak had said, Dipak seemed to look briefly at Estheim in a flabbergasted glare. Mr. Dipak slowly moved next to Ryuu Taichi whispering something, because Ryuu Taichi replied with a vague answer, "You can only do it to our students." "Ah." Mr. Dipak said out loud, before using a finger to keep his glasses from falling off. Meanwhile, a soldier from the back of the class has gotten word that Raphiel was mostly deaf, where they walked to their desk with a large typewriter machine with a large microphone at the back of it and a tablet on the front without interrupting Mr. Dipak. The soldier leaned towards the microphone, whispering to Raphiel, "You might need this." When that statement was picked up by the machine, it proceed to type up the exact same statement on the tablet in front of Raphiel.

Mr. Dipak did proceed to address Alessandro's question first, "Dante? I heard of him. He was one of the many challenged authors that was on the list. The Ministry had listed his books and literature to be banned and mostly sent off to be burned. Literature is allowed in the nation, however they must be checked to make sure they are qualified to be read by the minds of the Ministrian public. Now, about analyzing some books." Mr. Dipak went to answer Aida's question. "We will be reading a portion of one of the most-known fiction works in the nation, however we shall talk a bit about our dearest Leader, seeing how some are a bit uncultured." Mr. Dipak walked over to the chalkboard, where since it was actually a video screen, he proceed to write several commands on the chalkboard with a stylus, before he pulled down the projector screen, where it proudly displayed the Leader himself.

Image

Some who never heard of the Leader before should be a bit surprised. He was actually young. Young as a high school student. Mr. Dipak proceeded to explained that this was the most famous photo of the Leader himself in the flesh. Even though, some wouldn't take a kid with purple hair seriously, Dipak explained that he has been the reason that the nation and even the Ministry itself thrives. "Now, one of the books that I teach in my class is a biography written by the Leader himself called "The Way of the Ministry". Very interesting book, if you ask me. However!" Dipak said the last word loud enough to make sure no one was being distracted. "Today, we shall be reading and discussing the first couple chapters of the novel "Ash Portrait". If someone would to turn this book into a movie, it would immediately become an epic!"

Mr. Dipak went to a cabinet to retrieve the books, where it looked like he was having trouble. Several students got out of their seats to directly help Mr. Dipak, as the books looked like door-stoppers as they were starting to carry them back to the desks, where they started to pass it out on each desk with a student on them. The hardcover book cover didn't look interesting at all. It was probably to make sure no one judges a book by it's cover. It was a simple book title and author name of Robbie Diarmaid. The book itself had to been around 1600 pages long, where if one would to skim the book, they would find some rather "interesting" words. The book itself seemed to be too mature for a high school student to read. "Before we start reading, does anybody have any questions about this hardcore masterpiece of fiction? Also, if any of your books cease to work, make sure you tell me." Mr. Dipak asked the class, where it seemed to not make sense on how a book would "cease to work."

While Jacob was changing, he was surprised to see the security cameras even stretched out to the restrooms. Even some of the nations with the most heavy state surveillance didn’t stoop that low. He checked the mirror as well pressing his finger to it, seeing its reflection all to close. “No space, leave the place” was moniker. Jacob found a spot where he was only under watch of one camera, and as he took his shirt off he threw it onto the camera, covering it. After changing, he took his shirt off the camera and left the restrooms.

Jacob was looking forward to finally starting classes, took a seat next to Raphie, another foreign student in uniform. He never formally introduced himself, but he heard her shouting her name in the courtyards. He saw the hearing aides, Jacob had friends who had their hearing impaired, many who served in the army during the civil war. He gave a small wave and spoke a little slower than usual so he could read his lips, “I am Jacob Asimov, I’m one of the foreign students as well, from Brendislav. Exciting being in a whole new country, huh? I’ve never been outside my own at least.” Hopefully Jacobs accent wasn’t too horrid, he knew English well, but never got a handle on breaking his Russian-esque accent.

However Jacob’s enthusiasm when he first walked in was slowly diminished when the class started to begin. Their teacher, Mr. Dipak, had a giant mess of hair and looked mad. Additionally, Jacob presumed Mr. Dipak would just be another propaganda mouthpiece, seeing how Ryuu called him “a valuable supporter for the Leader”. Upon looking at the leader, he looked like he belonged in this classroom as well, rather than running an entire country. For what Jacob was hearing the other foreign students started to think this as well, starting to question why they had to speak in the leader’s name. However Jacob thought it would be best to keep his mouth shut for the time, he wouldn’t want to get on Mr. Dipak or Ryuu’s nerves, especially with all of these guards around. But what crushed his hopes further was the giant blank textbook that was slammed onto his desk. Jacob let out a small sigh, he really hope that they wouldn’t have to go through the entirety of this massive book, even if it was a masterpiece of fiction.

An avid reader, Gianna opened the book and started to read the first page, She was curious about how the story reflects on the society of the Main Nation Ministry. She did not even consider that she could potentially get in trouble for reading before the teacher says to.

Glimpsing the first page of the novel, the story seems to already start off with several character deaths from the first page alone. Mr. Dipak cleared his throat, preparing to read. "Any other questions before we delve deep into our story?"

Eco-Books? This seemed like sorcery to Jacob, how can words just fall off a page? Why make books like this? Wouldn't print just be easier? Jacob opened up his book, and he must of opened it up with too much force as a word and a small letter ‘p’ flies off his page. Jacob grumbles as he sees that a few words on the page are missing. He raises his hand to ask a question, “What do we -excuse me- In the leader’s name, what do we do if we are missing a few words? Should I get a new book?”

"So you are telling us that if the book cease to work, the words will fall of it and de-materialize!!. And if that happens what we need to do since,I don't see that things like this can be an desechable and thrown them away to dump if that happens and another question related to the first book that you said earlier we are gonna to read it too??" I ask.

At glance 1600 doesn't seemed long for me. After all,I'm always read books of this number of pages. But still this is an important number.

In my back,I saw that others students begun to read a little of the book. The soldiers here in the classroom preapared an microphone for an brown haired girl and many were still confused with some things. Well my time here will surely be interesting. After that,I begun to read the book and to my surprise some characters die already, well this book will be full of surprises.

"If you happen to have any broken books, make sure you raise your left hand, so someone will give you a replacement. All broken eco-books will be checked and repaired by the big brains at the Ministry of Science. And if you want to ask a question, make sure you raise your right hand." Dipak said, before he started to read out loud to the class.

The story itself seemed to be a mix between the drama and adventure genres, as the main character established in the first chapter, being a soldier who is described to not being yellow seems to be a representation of Main Nation Ministry itself. While the chapter contains lots of instances of death, it happens to have descriptions of talking snakes who attack civilians, actual monsters, and even a literal war between angels and demons. If another student from out of the nation would to read this, they would most likely describe it as downright insane. Dipak was really getting into the book, however. He even seems to manage to change his voice when he reads dialogue from each character. When Dipak finished the last sentence on the chapter, he took several breaths of air to regain his voice. "So, any questions? If any of you seem interested in buying this book, we do have a bit of a bookstore in the city." Dipak said to the class.

Aida raised her right hand. "So, um, in the name of the Leader... will we get to visit this bookstore? I'd love to check out the place, maybe buy a book or two."

Alessandro sat silent for a couple moments, completely dumbfounded by this country's apparent literature technology "Ma che cazzo? What kind of book is this?" he quietly asked himself as he finished the chaper. Looking up at the professor he reluctantly asked a question, staying silent at first but then doing it anyway "Professor in..." he paused for a second "...in the name of the leader, what is the purpose of these 'books'? What advantage do they have over regular paper literature with printed words?"

Gianna kept reading ahead, analyzing every page. She is thinking about how the protagonist is reacting to all of the deaths. If the protagonist represents the government, then this will answer the question of how the government reacts to tragedy. Gianna is hoping that this answer will lead to another-the purpose of authority in the eyes of the author. She heard Aida ask about going to a book store, but she was not really paying attention to the rest of the class since she was lost in thought. Gianna was hoping that she could go to the book store and buy her own copy, as well as other books that she could only find here.

"As I have explained, these books require no need to use actual paper. Meaning we can help preserve our lush trees without needing to chop them down!" Mr. Dipak said, while Ryuu Taichi answered another question. "We will be visiting the Victory Square plaza, I believe the bookstore will be nearby there, where students can have the opportunity to buy a book of whatever kind." Ryuu said, though it was clear that the type of books in the nation were clearly limited.

"Any other questions before the bell is about to ring? Any questions about this wonderful story and it's characters?" Dipak asked, seeing himself as a man of trivia for this book.

The young man Kim Jeognhoon arrived at the international airport in the Ministry wondering why he had to get on a plane then portal in to the host universe instead of just jumping directly with nothing but himself and his suitcase, but simply shrugged it off as "bureaucratic bollocks" and didn't think much of it. As he walked the halls and looked around, he felt rather familiar. A modern design with soldiers marching here and there, it felt as if he were still at his home nation. He quickly made for the exit and spotted a black cab he was told about beforehand and entered the vehicle.

With a bit of struggle and his Korean accent showing, he managed to get the driver to take him to the school he was going to spend time in. Looking out the window, he saw snow and children playing in it. He also thought about where he could use his hoverboard in this nation, though his focus still remains on the exchange program. As soon at he arrived at the school, he walked over to the nearest soldier. "I'm sorry I'm late. I'm Jeonghoon. Kim Jeonghoon of the Empire of Amenria. I was told to ask for further instructions once I arrive."

Pouring over the book to get a grasp of it, it was unusual and interesting from how it was physically and the text of the book itself, the story, characters setting. She found herself quite lost in it all. She did like reading quite a bit already so she could often get lost in a good novel.

After Dipak waited for questions, where their seemed to be none, the school bell erupted throughout the building. While it was a bit louder than a regular school bell, it marked the end of first period. "Alright! Your next class of this schedule will be something less complicated. For this next period, we shall do Math!" Ryuu said to the foreign exchange students, where the mention of Math suddenly causes one of the nation's students who were still in class to panic. "Wait? You can't be sending them to Mr. Rade's class, right? The teacher is a psychopath!" the student tries to warn the exchange students, where Ryuu had a soldier silenced him and haul him over to detention.

"Don't worry. While some of our teachers here in this establishment can be harsh to certain students, they still do their duty to fulfill our youth's progress for education." Ryuu said, as he got a message on his walkie-talkie. "Do you copy? We have another exchange student here. Permission to escort him to the dorms?" "We're about to head over to Mr. Titus Rade's room. It's best you send his bags to the room and escort him to Mr. Rade's room."

"Affirmative." the soldier said on his walkie-talkie, as he was checking a tablet to verify Kim's identify. "Looks like you're on time. Math is about to start. Hang on." the soldier had send another soldier with a school uniform to give to Kim. "Make sure you send his gentleman's bags to the dorms. He's with the foreign exchange program. I will escort him over to his Math class." The soldier had Kim give his bags to the other soldier, as the solider in turn gave Kim his school uniform.

As Ryuu escorted the foreign exchange students to the next class, he led them to a classroom that had students leaving. Entering the room, it happened to be the same type of classroom as English. A brown haired man with a suit and tie and a bit of a strict looking gesture was straightening up papers on his desk, as he saw the students enter. "Mr. Taichi. I believe these are the exchange students you mentioned to me." Rade asked, where he was checking a drawer at his desk. "Correct. However, you cannot do your disciplinary methods on them. Only on our students." Ryuu warned him. "Relax. I'm sure these kids know how to do math, anyways." Rade was ensuring to Taichi that things will be fine.

Lisolette Perspective
Did the guy said that we have an psycho as our math teacher!!!.

"Oh dear". I wishpered, this might end bad.

Thank god that,I'm good in maths, because if this teacher is that bad as the student says it is,well the best of lucks to the student who is not very good at maths then.

Once inside the math room,I took an front seat in where it could be easy to hear what the profesor says. I've heard the principal say to the profesor about don't use his disciplinary methods. My toughts were:

"What the heck does the profesors do to diciplinate the students of here". Seriously what they do. It doesn't matter, better don't know them, because just imagine them gives me creepy vibes.

Anyways,my hopes of at least have an normal school life here have went down, considering that my profesors are kinda rare, camaras everywhere, soldiers in the school and more will surely appear in the futures. But of course that's what,I get from enter to an student program in an nation that is taken out of Orwells book 1984.

I just want that the lunch break happens so,I can at least eat something and know the rest of the students here.

The soldier escorting Jeonghoon would probably be tired of his remarks about "the cameras and law enforcement is overkill". He understood full well the necessity of good old authoritarianism, but this is a bit too much. At least for him.

Entering the math room, he walked in carefully and bowed to the strange-looking man in front he assumed to be the teacher, explaining his circumstances and hoping he wouldn't get punished on the first day of school.
