A Brewing Crisis (IC/Terra Magna Only)

Postby Mantara » Thu Jul 05, 2018 4:35 pm

President Rodrigue of Mantara settled down in his seat as he prepared for the first ever Tripcom Summit to begin. The Triplanetary Community, created just a week ago at the signing of the Treaty of Matraqat Albuhaya in Ain Fakrata. Now the members of the leadership and Cabinet of Tripcom were arriving in Mantara to discuss several important issues.

Above them all was the Rogeno Crisis, as they’re decided to call it. Their Intern Chairman, President Majange-Vera was under threat by the Holy Empire of Russlande, who looked to potentially attack the smaller country should they not cut ties with the Dutch in just two days. They had to figure out what the next step would be for both Rogoda and the rest of Tripcom.

President Imaad al-Kamali smiled as he walked into the summit room and sat President Rodrigue, his old friend. Their friendship had been formed over the friendship of their nations, which had found themselves on the same side of the Seidanese War two years before. Now with Tripcom and their Treaty, al-Kamali only could see good things. Or at least he thought he could only see good things until the Tsarina of Russlande had decided completely out of the blue to threaten the Republic of Rogoda with war.

“Anthony,” the President said with a smile in Mantaran, “how good it is to see you.”

“ I am doing well, though I fear that this meeting is not under the best circumstances.”

President Rodrigue let out a small sigh. While glad to see his fellow president once more, he had to admit that it was starting to remind him of the Seidanese War. Would another republic fall at the hands of those imperialists who fought like dogs over bones?

“Hopefully this meeting will be able to find a solution to our situation one way or another. Russell The Russens may have proved to be rule by a tyrant, but surely not even the dreaded Tsarina is blind to reason?”

The President of Ain Fakrata shook his head. “I would not put it past her, my friend.”

He took a seat next to the President of Mantara as he continued to speak. “But perhaps she speaks only in bluffs? Surely she wouldn’t declare war on such a petty issues such as that there is oil having been found in the Mukunda desert. Perhaps there’s a way to convince her, there still time of course.”

“That is easy for you to say.”

President Chengetai Majange-Vera said as she sat down. She had been walking into the room and had overheard the tail end of their conversation. Behind the President of Rogoda, the very nation that was struggling against the fear of “consequences” laid out by the Empire of Russlande. It was causing panic across her nation and she’d only hesitantly left her planet to journey to Mantara City for this summit, where she was to serve as Intern Chairman of the Triplanetary Community.

“You do not have the Russen Horde breathing down your back.”

“Ah, President Majange-Vera. It is very nice to meet you.”

President Anthony rose from his seat to shake her hand.

“I can assure you that we will find a way for us to end this brewing crisis in the most efficient and peaceful way of things possible. Surely you can see that this is unlike any situation that the Triplanetary Community has faced. Why, it is the first situation that any of us have faced like this.”

President Majange-Vera shook President Rodrigue’s hand, but there was not a single hint of s smile on her face. How could there be when she was under so much pressure from so many different directions.

“I hope you are right. I have been bombarded by the Iravians, the Atmorans and the Dutch to have them come at our aid. The only reason I and Congress have not accepted is because we know that they only wish to sink their claws into the nation. We may be partners with the Dutch, but I’d trust them about as far as I can throw them.”

“That,” President al-Kamali said, “is a wise statement. Those Iravic nation’s are a trickery bunch. They and the Celestial Empire sate the greatest threats to galaxial peace I tell you. Do not let they implant themselves in your nation, for they will be like a tick, sucking you dry.”

Leasu Lotulelei, the Aaojuan Representative, sent by President Piripi of Aaoju, who was due to arrive a bit late do to the roundabout way that he was traveling from his home planet to Earth, arrived at the summit. Leasu Lotulelei has been instructed by the President to push the brand new Tripcom to also move to have a military alliance back up their political and economic customs union. President Piripi had always been an aggressive man and he would see to it that this spread to Tripcom in order to show that they would not be bullied. Leasu Lotulelei Nodded his head as he sat down.

“I see that we are already talking on the great issue at hand.” Leasu Lotulelei said.

President Rodrigue gave a small nod to Representative Lotulelei. He had found that the aggressiveness of the Aaojuan was a bit unsettling. After all he couldn’t very well support so many of the aggressive wishes of Aaoju. It seemed to him to be an aggressive wish to almost suicidal proportions.

“I see that President Piripi is delayed.”

President Majange-Vera sat down and gave something that perhaps could have been called a smile. She, like others had been a bit startled by just how war hungry that the Aaojuans had proven, but she at the same time had to admit that there was bit of her that was flattered at the potential viciousness that the Aaojuans offered.

“At least we see a representative of a nation that definitely has a backbone.”

Representative Lotulelei returned the nod to the President of Rogoda. He pretended to not have heard the flower child President of Mantara.

Thank you Madame President you’ll find that we are willing to fight to the last man to the last bullet against our enemies. This why we must become a military alliance. Surely everyone else can see that this is the only way that we can defend ourselves from the actions and aggressiveness of other nations. These empires, these unions of powers, of planets they will crush is under foot if we let them must stand our ground!”

President Rodrigue scowled at Lotulelei and his ignoring of him. How rude it was. Why must they be so aggressive? And yet they were the ones in the Triplanetary Community with the most similar of the Mantarans, if not in their politics and culture.

“We must also be realistic Mr. Representative, we cannot simply fight whoever we wish, especially not a country as large as Russlande. I’m sorry to say it, but we would be absolutely destroyed. We’d be crushed and then we would we be? Dust.”

The Aaojuan Representative shook his head.

“You would have us be rolled over by the Imperialistic nations. Tell me, what point does this Triplanetary Community serve if we are to be crushed it every time whenever there is any situation where we are facing into larger force because we do nothing but roll over and surrender ? You may not like the Iravians, but they have a point, we must prove ourselves here and now or we will never be taken seriously ever again”

President Rodrigue shook his head.

“Do you forgive me if I wish to see the Triplanetary Community survive more than just its first week of existence. The future must be laid out and plan. We can not simply go forward and fight the Russens. We will prove so much more formidable if we are able to pressure Russlande down without bloodshed.”

President al-Kamali stood up and raised his hands, trying to both grab the President of Mantara and the Aaojuan Representative’s attention.

“Please, please. Let us not forget that we are all friends here. We all wish for the same end results. We should not squabble among ourselves at a time like this.” The President of Ain Fakrata said.

“President al-Kamali is correct. We must be unified in this, not divided or we shall tear ourselves apart. We are all adults here after all. We can discuss this calmly and readinably. It is true that Tripcom was created as a customs union,”

The President of Rogoda looked to President Rodrigue and then to Representative Lotulelei.

“But that does not mean that we can not evolve as a union, as an alliance, for the betterment of the Triplanetary Community.”

“There we go,” President al-Kamali said, “now I am sure that the addition of military protection between our nations in the Triplanetary Community can be indeed arranged. We must evolve and if we are to stand against future such tyrants, like Russlande or Atmora, we must be a power that can be reckoned with, as well as one that avoids conflict.”

“How precisely will you convince our dear precious Secretary General of that? That is once he arrives?”

Representative Lotulelei, like his Aaojuan were a bit iffy on Kasanga and their control over the position of Secretary-General of Tripcom. They were after all the only Kingdom in the union and it made them naturally an outlier in the international organization populated by republics.

“That is true.”

President Rodrigue looked to President al-Kamali, mildly annoyed that he seemed to be caving to the will of Representative Lotulelei.

“We are not the only ones in this union. Where exactly are the Dondolesian and Kasangain diplomats?”

“I suspect that it has to do with them visiting the planet. You know how people, even world leaders can be a bit of sightseers. I am sure that they will be here any moment.” President al-Kamali turned his attention to Representative Lotulelei. “ In the meantime I suggest that you come up with your proposal on how to make Tripcom into a military alliance on par with that of the Systems Alliance.

Representative Lotulelei nodded his head. Even he could find that aggression and yelling and pressing was not the best way to get everything done. Sometimes he understood that subtlety and well crafted words could move mountains.

“Very well.”

He had one of his aids hand him a tablet so that he could make notes on it.

President Majange-Vera looks between the two other presidents. She could tell who it was that was truly in charge. There was in every organization one that held a bit more influence than the others and she had naturally suspected that in the Triplanetary Community it was Mantara or Ain Fakrata, but she couldn’t tell which.

President Anthony Rodrigue looked over at President Majange-Vera and raised an eyebrow at her. Tripcom has been an almost impromptu creation, expanding far faster than he had ever thought it would, even with only six nations.

“Something wrong Madam President?”

The President of Rogoda shook her head.

“No,”

She looked away from him and down at the table. She was fearful for her nation. Rogoda has never before been on center stage in the international community and for the past week the limelight had been blinding. She wished only for peace and for her nation to grow and bloom, not to be strangled by the greed of its villainous neighbors.

“Nothing is wrong.”
