Block World Assembly TGs

Postby Ainin » Sat Jun 16, 2018 11:07 pm

Please let us block WACC TGs or get rid of them entirely by moving them to the notifications panel. It makes no impact on any of the recipients if someone gets commended or condemned, and many, many recipients don't care about the passage of every single resolution. It's just another annoying notification to clear.

Seconded, it's really annoying to constantly have to delete automated telegrams all the time

I have to agree with this, numerous regions use the world assembly as a “puppet filtration system” of sorts. However, some people will resign because of the constant telegrams after every resolution that’s passed, or liberation, commendation and condemnation.

I agree here because I already get enough telegrams as it is and have no care for what happens to the WA even though i'm a WA Member. Heck most of the issues don't effect me at all.

If this is implemented I'd like it to be specific to each chamber, as I only really need the notifications for one.

Probably, to block WA telegram notifications, wait for another notification. Then beneath the telegram, click “Block Sender”. Now you won’t get those annoying telegram notifications!!!

Probably not. I don't believe the checkbox works on system telegrams. You can't block Moderator messages either.

If you don't know the answer, don't post. You have a bad habit of posting advice that is wrong. Guessing wrong is much worse than simply staying silent.

If you don't want any WA telegrams at all you can go to preferences in the telegrams area. Then find the block telegrams section, find the WA column and select block all. Blocking recruitment telegrams works the same way.

That's for WA campaign telegrams sent by players, not for TGs sent by the Compliance Commission.

Hi all,

I am in position to support the ability to switch the compliance and proposal telegrams to the Notices system, as I feel that these types of messages are more suited to the new system.

In practice, the effects of WA resolutions on nations are not a great deal, somewhat akin to issues statistical effects: we do not have telegrams informing nations that a decision in an issue has been implemented, so why do we have them for WA resolutions?

I've been told multiple times by people that they don't want to join WA because of the amount of telegrams. This hampers my regions ability to utilize every possible WA nation that can be had, so if it is at all likely this can be implemented I'm for it.

I could see this being a notification instead. It makes sense.

I'd agree with the switch to notification. Even if you can't block it, it usually takes mere seconds to clear all of the notices vs minutes for tgs

Un-seconded. You can simply block them in Telegram Preferences.

No, you cannot. That setting is just WA campaign telegrams, not the passed legislation ones generated by the system.

Those can simply be deleted. I don't really see a problem with them, considering that legislation takes a while to be passed.

Hi, the WA resolution passage and proposed repeal telegrams are a severely outdated relic from the days before NationStates introduced the notifications system, which I feel has made them redundant in its current form.

How do I block WA Compliance telegrams?

Postby Enfaru » Sat Sep 01, 2018 9:33 am

Hi all,

I've had a few regional members ask me how we can block some of the more Gameside notifications. (Excluding modly notifications). As, and I quote, "Like does anyone actually care for them?"

They're just spam for the most part.

Edit:

Please see previous thread which I have been alerted to after posting this one: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=445175 (july-ish)
