the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Welcome to this informative communiqué. If you read this communiqué carefully and attentively, you will be informed about the requirements you are to meet if you want to set up a diplomatic mission in terre Australes's capital, Port Louis.
INFORMATION REGARDING OUR POLICY ON EXTRATERRITORIALITY:
Our nation guarantees the status of an embassy as an extraterritorial part of your nation. This means, simply, that your embassy will not be influenced by local laws. While we cannot and will not transfer absolute sovereignty over the land on which your embassy is built, we will treat it as your soil, and your embassy will de-facto be your land.
This also means that attacks on your embassy's territory, are attacks on your nation, and all that it represents. We will therefore always keep a strong police presence near the international quarter of Port Louis, and our policemen will be working together with your embassy's employees to guarantee their nation. You may also request to send troops and arms to defend the embassy, although this request may be refused by his majesty's government.
The embassies will be constructed along our Rue de Berry, an important and large road in Port Louis's innercity. It is close to urban restaurants, shopping malls, and other Australais shops.
INFORMATION REGARDING OUR POLICY ON DIPLOMATIC IMMUNITY:
Due to international treaties, we guarantee the diplomatic immunity of the staff involved in the mission. We do reserve the right to detain members of the diplomatic for a maximum of 6 hours to properly identify them should they have broken a local law. The diplomat will not be punished for his or her crime, and will enjoy full extraterritoriality.
Should a member of the diplomatic staff commit a horrific act, or should they be linked in any way to a horrific act, then his majesty's government reserves the right to declare this person to be persona non grata - Unwelcome in our country. The government of the employee will then be tasked with retrieving the member of the staff or ambassador, and arranging transport back to his home country. We may gratify them, though. Note: Persona non grata's are not permanent.
The families of the diplomatic staff that live in terre Australes will enjoy the same rights as the diplomats.
INFORMATION REGARDING OUR POLICY ON AERIAL/AUTOMOBILE TRANSPORT:
Nations with diplomatic missions bear the right to send vehicles. The limits are:
2 Aircraft
8 Automobiles
3 trucks or other logistical vehicles
6 Scooters, motorcycles, etc.
There are no limits on bicycles and eco-friendly vehicles.
Your automobiles, logistical vehicles and scooters/motorcycles/etc. will receive a license plate from his majesty's government. Cars used by the Corps Diplomatique will have a license plate starting with CD, so that they will be easier to identify.
MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION:
Diplomatic employees reserve the right to send their children to school in our nation, and, following the Vienna Convention, are exempted from paying taxes for their children's schools.
Our buildings are accesable for people with wheelchairs or other handicaps.
