The LCN - June 2018 General Elections Results

Recap

The General Elections for the League of Conservative Nations, June 2018, have concluded. As directed by the Consulate, there were fifteen possible seats to be won by the four parties which participated. The link to the electoral poll can be found through this link. Due to the fact that no party gained an absolute majority of seats, per LCN Law, a coalition must be formed within three days or a new election will be called.

Going over some Roleplay stuff, for the most part, our government is reasonably relaxed otherwise for the time being.

We're just trying to keep a strong activity base as the school year starts, which is going reasonably well. If you are interested and want to see or know more, a lot of our stuff goes on through our Discord server.

Most of our activity is on Discord and the RMB, this serves mostly as a hub for people such as yourself and Tinhampton, as a window of sorts to the LCN.

This region was in an allience with the Federation of Conservative nations.
This region entered in a pact, and the Federation went to warwith Farastalka for the LCN.
The Federation adapted to the LCN was kind included some antifascist politics to pleasure the liberals of the LCN

The Federation founder had a discussion with the LCN after a few childish spam. And did not take as a serious warning the petitions of cease made by LCN
This petition never had an authoritarian language and the people of the Federation could not take them as orders cause they did not see them as relevant

Only for it the tension raised and the both region leaders did a conference to draw this disappointment to a peaceful resolve

But the LCN did not appease the flames, after the diplomacy failed the president New Gandor broke the embassy with the LCN suspiciously letting them an fertile camp to plant proaganda againist us.

A days later we saw the complot.

The propaganda and subversion of the LCN has been influencing the relevant members of our region and attacked recruiting the most important members it could.

Oh jeez, Bluefarst. I'm just now seeing this now over a month later. While this forum thread is dead... I'm gonna clear this up anyway, cuz I don't like lying. Gonna try to keep it inoffensive.

• They didn't fight Farkasfalka FOR us. We had an alliance with that Anti-Fark conflict as it's the main goal. Didn't work out.
  
• I'm not really sure what domestic policy we pushed in the FCN, and the idea that some "liberals" in the LCN were forcing the FCN to do anything is dumb.
  
• Yeah there was some spam and that sparked a conveniently then being brought up bill... yeah. Old story. No use arguing about it more We deemed it illegal spam by our standards, we banned the offenders. That simple. (Disagree all you like, it's our government that matters for our domestic policy)
  
• We did not orchestrate the Executive Order to make the FCN look bad if that's what you're suggesting. I took a nap after talking with (I think Monk) an FCNer in the morning and woke up to being kicked from the FCN server and being surprised by it. Not that I was surprised relations eventually broke down, but yeah. Big change in a couple of hours.
  
• Yeah... some FCNers moved. There was no recruitment campaign, no plot. Anyone who moved here did it on their own accord, as anyone moving to the FCN from us at some point may. Unless you have any evidence of our government doing that, irrelevant. But the issue is done and dusted with.

This issue is pretty dead. The FCN and LCN don't get along anymore, that simple. No use delving further into my opinions on it. Just had a desire to clear that up after seeing this drivel on OUR forum thread.

Extensive Statement on Moderation Policy
The Republic of The League of Conservative Nations

The League of Conservative Nations, henceforth referred to as the LCN, does not endorse nor allow the following: hate, discrimination, harassment, or other forms of abuse on our communication platforms. The LCN has made consistent efforts to maintain a safe environment for all participants, and we host a citizenry and membership of individuals with varying ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, and other factors.

There has been a recent misinterpretation and misrepresentation of our region by The Union of Democratic States, which chose to withdraw embassies over disagreements with our moderation policies. While we are unsure to what extent this is supported by their administration, we have been informed of the UDS, or at least certain individuals within the region disseminating their accusations and disingenuous allegations about the LCN.

The LCN remains of the opinion that our moderation policy is fair and just. The allegation that we allow hate speech is simply untrue. It is accurate that certain generally offensive terms are allowed on the condition that both the poster and the person(s) the post is directed to are comfortable with the language used. It is our opinion that hate is at least partially conditional on the intent of the poster and the perception of the recipient of the comments. We have specifically created a channel for anyone to come forward and bring up a concern they have to our moderation team (officially known as the League’s Police Force - the LPF), this includes reporting behavior that they consider to make them feel unsafe, uncomfortable, or otherwise rule-breaking. Anyone may report content that makes them feel unsafe, unwelcome, or uncomfortable and it will be handled if any sort of behavior is directed towards them again.

Our moderation team is vetted, has various protocols in place for rule enforcement, and has rules that specifically address the behaviors we are accused of allowing. Discord Server rule six, which bans harassment, and rule seven, which prohibits content that we believe to poorly reflect on our region and community, as well as warns people to be mindful of their actions. Individuals who create an unsafe environment face consequences for doing so, ranging from moderation bot warnings, to mutes, to special moderation protocols, and further. The following statement is from Chief of the League’s Police Force Amaan land (essentially the head moderator):

I have been Chief of the League’s Police Force since February 2019 and throughout my tenure as chief all of my officers have always been quick to shut down any rule breaking behaviour. They are especially quick to shut down anything that breaks server rule 6 which states that harassment or hateful behaviour of any kind towards another server member will not be tolerated. We punish through the use of bot warnings and mutes. In addition to this my officers are also quick to shut down anything that breaks rule 7 which prohibits any content that will reflect our region and our community as a whole. Furthermore The LPF also has special protocols for certain server members who frequently break rules, in these cases the consequences (these are usually server mutes or temp bans) for their actions are more severe in order to try and deter them from breaking the rules again.

If there have been any lapses or errors in LPF enforcement, we would be happy to correct those. However, it is important to this region that our policies and environment are not lied about by those who do not know our community as well as the members and leadership within it. Recently, one official was accused of discriminatory and unprofessional behavior as part of some larger concerns raised by the public. That official was placed on a special moderation protocol and eventually resigned. We do not tolerate hate or other misconduct within our region. Greater Sacramento, the primary recipient of the behavior of the person in question, has offered a statement below:

I'm Greater Sacramento, I've been in this region on and off since the late summer of 2018 but have been here more prominently since the summer of 2019. Recently I was bullied for my faith, sexuality, and ethnicity in the League of Conservative Nations. He posted homophobic content which he supported as well as racist content that targeted me being Gay, Muslim, and Indian. I complained about this and the relevant authority gave him warnings for the first time but then he was punished and was then pressured to resign as a Consul as the community has no tolerance for actual hate speech.

The final position of the LCN is that we will not change our moderation policies as they do not allow for hate and toxicity within the region. We regret that the UDS chose to close embassies over a misunderstanding following a disingenuous conversation in which they judged our region before even discussing and hearing our explanations, but we do not intend to bend the knee for things which we are not guilty of. In particular, we wish to thank other regions for discussing this rationally and exhibiting fairness towards the LCN.

The LCN has always made a point of being opposed to hate and abuse on this platform, this is most obvious in our operations in opposition to Nagarno and Farkasfalka. We find it extremely unfortunate that this issue has been not only created almost entirely artificially, but additionally unfortunate that our region has been misjudged and that such skewed views have been purposefully disseminated in an effort to harm our reputation.

The UDS deliberately only posted an internal statement about the embassy withdrawal so as to avoid presenting the withdrawal as a personal attack on the LCN and not merely reflective of a difference in moderation policies. Certainly there is no coordinated attempt to spread allegations, as you term them, against the LCN and evidence to the contrary (either publicly or privately) would be appreciated.

I have been informed by at least two individuals originating in two different regions that the statement (which contains disingenuous allegations) was at least spread around, and it so far has resulted in myself and Consul Terranihil having to participate in a meeting around 5am to clear things up, and this statement.

I have already spoken to Thatcher and made it clear I do not believe your government is purposefully doing this, but it seems to be happening to a certain extent. Clearly, the UDS either does not understand nor find our position tolerable, so we would prefer if they simply kept their discontent to themselves, as it is an issue they chose to create.
