Bug? Taxes dont drop.

I tried everything. I even made my firefighting services private, chose to cut down education and health care to give my people a tax brake but the income tax remains 100%

Keep trying, while the game won't show anything over 100%, the actual number can be much higher.

Well after all that time, i have been a few forests down, i only cut government expenses and my taxes dont go down! I used an internet site (NSEconomy) to check my economy. My consumption is zero (:o) and my Goverment Waste is stuck at $1,629,276,996.50

Any ideas?

It takes a long, long, long time to raise taxes for some countries. The game engine is really wonky after you hit 100% tax rate, since no state can physically exist with such a rate, though for many of the older countries, what is displayed as 100% may in reality be 200% or higher.

Just to let you know. My taxes are down! 97% at the moment. Thought it would never happen.

I used to be around 48% taxation and would bounce between 30%-40% taxation, but then I voted to abolish inheritance tax, gave corporations free resign and I have zero taxation. It's all about how you vote on issues where taxation is an element.
