Several nuclear missiles launch from Munkchester aimed at the Universal Commons capital. In the space above the Universal Commons two satellites open revealing high capacity Tactical High Energy Lasers. They destroy two of the nuclear missiles before they reach the Universal Commons. They continue to sweep the skies for any Munkchester airplanes or missiles. At high altitude there are dozens of small blimps, these have boxes on them with a mix of asat, and anti-ballistic missile rockets. They are expendable. As three of the missiles enter the upper atmosphere they are countered with anti-ballistic missiles. The ASAT missiles target and launch at any Munkchester satellites that are available. A swarm of high speed Kratos jet UAVs are launched at any nuclear cruise missiles smashing into them or shooting them down and moving out to sea to seek out any ships that might have launched them. The coastal defense batteries go to full alert, activating anti-missile batteries. In the water, a group of long range autonomous torpedos heads out to sea. They are seeking to go after any submarines encroaching on UniversalCommons waters.

The regular navy is activated. While, not huge, it is well armed with the latest in weapons. They are preparing an over the horizon attack. There are fast attack gunships, helicopter carriers, UAV carriers, waterjet cruisers, stealth submarines, and trimaran ships. The airforce is activated as well to counter any bombers or aircraft carrying nuclear missiles.

In the ocean, a submarine launches lancet missiles. Six missiles enter low earth orbit. Their outsides breakoff revealing tungsten titanium alloy rods. They are heading to military bases. These do not simply drop, they have rocket engines to hit with impact.

Two more submarines surface. They have hydraulic tubes for launching UAV aircraft. Six UAV bombers are heading out to attack the Munkcester supercarrier in a minute they will reach the supercarrier.

The simple words nuclear attack makes the privateers go haywire. Several coastal towns with slave markets are attacked with fury with the aim of looting, destroying the towns, and arming the slaves.

In anger, the privateers create fireships turning natural gas tankers and oil tankers into firebombs and sending them into harbors or enemy shipping. They take captured small ships and motorboats and pack them full of explosives and do the same.

In response to the Azadistani police cruisers, we send a simple message, we will pay for the scrap metal, but not for the ships or submarine which do not fly an Azadistani flag. We are sending you $20,000,000 Nationstates Dollars, the value of the scrap metal. We will also cease collecting from the Azadistani shores, but would like to continue raising ships. We will pay a finders fee of 10% of the value of the ships.

OOC: I got a nice telegram that my capital was nuked by Munkchester. Tactical High Energy Lasers are modern tech. The autonomous nuclear UUV is based on the Russian version. To make it more interesting the nukes teleported in. Godmodding requires equally bad godmodding. I am assuming there is Nuclear Dampening technology in most of Nation States, this explains why nukes don't work most of the time. http://orbitalvector.com/Defenses/NUCLEAR%20DAMPERS.htm I find this roleplay to be amusing because of the silliness involved. There is very little realism here.

OOC: I propose you ignore that. If he didn't put it in the thread, then that implies he didn't want to RP it with the rest of us. He shouldn't be allowed to do that, if he wants to nuke you he should post it here for all of us to respond to it.

Millitary conference about Munkchester

Postby Azadistan-land of the free » Sun Jun 17, 2018 8:14 am

The army, navy and airforce all decided that a task force has to execute or capture the Lord-President and that Munkchester should be blockaded from the skies to lead to surrender.

Planes were heading to just outside the region of Northumbria to blockade it until they agreed to expell Munkchester, planes were also heading to the capital of the Kingdom Of Northumbria to arrest the Lord-Lieutenant and Lord-President of Munkchester next time they visited.

All of this will end if you sign a peace treaty, disband your weapons of mass destruction and try Fenwick, Collins etc. in Munkchestrian courts.,

"A nuclear apocalypse" is an event that the public are being prepared for by officials in as diverse areas as soldiers, police officers, firefighters, scout leaders, teachers, scientists and many more.
Canned food, moutain bike, first aid kit, camoflague, firewood, goat, dog, cat(to kill rats aspects and birds to eat),survival guide, biofuel, jeep and legal gun sales are going through the roof as citizens are concerned about needing to survive in such a hostile environment.

Nuclear weapons were launched from submersibles in the area of Munkcester at our capital. Although, we cannot confirm the nation which launched these weapons, they came from inside and near the territorial waters of Munkcester. It is very possible, that it may have come from your allies on the supercarrier. We were able to confirm that they were launched. You have two minutes to cease hostilities. We will not be able to abort Thors Hammer or stop Operation Swordfish after that.

Satellite pictures confirm the launch of these missiles into low earth orbit. Also there were three nuclear armed cruise missiles which were launched at our shore line. All of them were dispatched effectively.

We are trying to recall the privateers at this point. The confirmation of a nuclear launch has made them go berserk. Further hostilities will lead to invasion and total disarmament.

Neo-Nazi skinhead convicted,gets life

Postby Azadistan-land of the free » Sun Jun 17, 2018 2:20 pm

Neo-Nazi skinhead Reginald Spencer has been convicted of treason.
He plead guilty to racially aggravated assault, assault causing grievous bodily harm, assaulting a police officer and religiously aggravated assault but despite his lawyer advising otherwise not guilty to treason on the grounds that "he was not a leader of the white people. I was loyal to the White people and their forms of Christianity and paganism. I saw in the war an opportunity for Azadistan to become a homeland for whites and I wanted to attack the leader to be the last straw in a race war".
He faces life with parole after 25 years.

Wagonwater

When you're tired of war and want a spot of peace, why not visit Wagonwater for a beach-filled holiday?

The evacuation of ground forces, Rhinoceran, Friendly, or Aestorian, was now complete, and Munkchester's invasion of the coasts clearly forestalled. And now the Viceroy's Azadistani Corps - the militarily displaced - were reforming in New Wagonwater, which was nice and tropical, even if rather jungly and more humid than they were used too. But it was either reform there or the Arctic base at Celestial Island, which was (a) cold and (b) did not have the delights of modern civilization. Indeed, because New Wagonwater was an Ausitorian charter city, quite besides all the engineering industries and cheap labour on tap, there were shops, restaurants, cinemas, universities, operas, a full range of hotels, and any of the delights of a modern civilization to enjoy – something for everyone from a 10-star field marshal to a private.

What could be more pleasant than a "reformation" which was in essence a rest-cure?

All's well that ends - if it does?

HIMS Restorer
Peacemaker Class Carrier
400 km to the south-west of Azadistan
Course: South-south-west

The Admiral tensed himself. Thirty meters. Twenty meters. Ten meters. Zero.

They were out.

He breathed a sigh of relief as the spontaneous cheers rang around the battlefield command centre. There, on the central model, floating in augmented reality, the Restorer was shown in real-time drawing away from the line that marked Azadistan's notional EEZ. Now they could continue to the Antarctic Rendezvous and thence back to good old Panessos.

Of course, strictly the fleet was not out. Even now the fleet's combat air patrols were still extending over most of Azadistan's south and south-west EEZ; and there was a trail of destroyers and frigates from the north-west command still providing cover behind him. But the flagship was out, and given another day, they would all be out: every last breath of the Commonwealth's physical presence would be gone.

The Admiral turned and looked around the command centre, at all the delighted, cheery officers. One had cracked open a bottle of champagne, doughnuts were being shared. Time to go home.

The Admiral thought to himself. Time for speeches? No. Let their actions speak for themselves. They had come in peace and they left in peace.

He did make his way to one celebrating group: the ship's watch office.

"A study done concluded that three times more submarines were lost when returning home, especially when nearing base," he told them, evenly. "Let's not make that mistake," he finished.

They all knew the study, he suspected, but it was as well to remind them, and he didn't like the reports of magnetic anomalies to the south-east... and things had still not quietened down at home...

Seven Emirates offer combined throne to Imperial Caliphate
Prelude to Independence?

Less than a day after the Minister of Defence, Angus Fitzpelch, reputedly warned the Government of Chanma that “no wartime government will accept an armed challenge,” the Crowned Emirs of Dawa and Sabal, with the approval of the Emirs of Temur and Sumala, offered the throne of the Seven Emirates to the Triple Caliph, Mustaphar VI, following rumours that the Triple Caliph was contemplating an immediate declaration of independence. This move would bring to end decades of combined rule by the Crowned Emirs, who owe nominal allegiance to the Marlylbet Empire.

The Marlylbet Government has immediately responded by issuing an injunction to stay the offer on the grounds that it would transfer the Emirates outside the Empire, an injunction instantly upheld by the Aestorian Permanent Secretary for the Interior. As the Aestorian Tribune Interior is David Caspan, also Prime Minister of Marlylet, he was himself instantly accused of applying undue pressure upon the Commonwealth’s department by the Leader of the Conservative Federalists, His Grace Adolphus Fitzamber.

Subsequently the Marlylbesh Prince-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and the Whittan, the Maharaja of Chattakang, backed the stay “for a period of two weeks and no more” before the Prime Minister, Sir Henry Taylor, responded to calls to sack the Marlylbet Ministers by summoning the disputed parties to New Whittington for a summit in ten days and swapping David Caspan and Argus Fitzpelvitch in the cabinet. The Foreign Secretary has also requested that the post of Whittan Secretary be transferred to Alice Fitzwhit, Minister for Intelligence and Statistics, to allow him to focus on International Affairs at the Decis Conference, which is now entering its second day.

The Caliph Mustaphar VI, asked to comment, stated that he would join the parties in New Whittington, while the President of Austrailanor, Mabel Jarvis, as leader of the Federal Associate Network of countries considering independence, reaffirmed her statement that she expected the Federal Associates to “stand by the Commonwealth come what may”. Richard Morgan, Prime Minister of Borethnia, also reiterated Borethnia’s support for the Commonwealth, recalling once again how the Commonwealth had stepped in to secure Zathalon, while the President of Pollia, Henry Mounte, stated that he had not changed his position from offering “all support necessary”.

In breaking news, it has reported that the Emirs of Temur and Sumala are now facing mass demonstrations against leaving the Commonwealth.

OOC: At this stage can we split the RP up? No hard feelings, but to ensure my OOC footprint matches Ausitoria’s IC one, I’d prefer not to continue any OOC involvement with Azadistan. And it’s all breaking up at this stage anyway.

As for the above comments, I've just been busy. Being polite takes more time. Sorry if I didn't have enough earlier, I'll try to redress the balance now.

Pax Prosperitas - Gloria in Maere

By Order of Their Imperial Majesty's Government

Desire to Observe the Angel's Alliance - Desire to establish Peaceable provisions - Desire to alert the Angel Alliance to their misguided support of Totalitarian nations

In view of the war currently taking place between members of the Angel Alliance and the Azadistani Commonwealth, which we had formerly and formally protected, the Aestorian Commonwealth desires to join the Angel's Alliance as an observing party so as to assure "opposing" parties in the Alliance of our goodwill, confirm the peace currently existing between our parties, and improve the Alliance's understanding of their current strategic mis-positioning.

While we recognize the Angel's Alliance has legitimate complaints against the Azadistani Commonwealth, members of the Angel's Alliance are currently operating in alliance with a number of oppressive, violent, and slaver nations, including Munkchester (slaver, bomber, and refusing proper burial), Beringia (fascist and slaver), the Syncretic Combine (violently crushing its republican government two years ago, and threatening to kill civilians with bleach), and the Veliki Co-operative (throwing people into volcanoes, and violently taking hostages in contravention of international protocol on diplomatic immunities).

These nations are far less restrained than the Aestorian Commonwealth. If you thought the Aestorian Commonwealth would establish order in Azadistan you are not alone in being disappointed, but the nations you have chosen to ally with will enslave and subjugate the remaining people of Azadistan in opposition to their will far more than a liberal nation such as ours would dream of or could possibly countenance.

In such a scenario it is absolutely and utterly absurd for the Angel's Alliance, created to fight against the "brutality of the multitude of totalitarian nations worldwide", and working to "help to halt the threat to the world’s peace and freedom", to seek to fight the Aestorian Commonwealth, which recognizes the right to liberty and self-determination to such an extraordinary extent that we recognize that we have not been able to permanently constrain Azadistan. We suggest that you are on the wrong side: the wrong side of your own interests, the wrong side of morality, and the wrong side of history.

We therefore further request and advise that the Angel Alliance repudiate their alliance with Munkchester, Beringia, the Syncretic Combine, and the Veliki Co-operative.

We note failure to live up to your own slogan will inevitably lead to you being branded "Dark Angels" and traitors by the free international community.

Signed,

RHT= PK7-3
His Serene Maharaja=Anax=Inquisitor, Pope=President=Princips=Palatine=Patriarch Richard VII "Hajim-Rik" Terforton=Pirnzak; Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Plenipotentary=Viceroy, Chattakang & the Commonwealth
Prime Minister of Panessos

Drawing Room X
The Decis Government Palace
Unity City, Jevo, Decis Confederacy

The Serene Maharaja, Prime Minister of Panessos, and Foreign Secretary of the Commonwealth, Richard Terefort, known to most, including me, as Prince Kazpia; sat down at the table.

“Sorry I’m late,” he said.

“I ordered the salmon,” replied Victoria Weinwright, Deputy Prime Minister of the Commonwealth. “Alice on her way too?”

At that precise moment Alice Fitzwhit, the Minister for Intelligence and Statistics, hurtled in followed closely by the Minister of Justice, Sarah Patel. Victoria raised an eyebrow at the latter. Prince Kazpia nodded in reply, as if to say ‘yes, I know, but trust me’.

“Anyone else?” asked Victoria. “Much more and we’re going to have cabinet quorum here.”

“So that’s not far off from being the point?” smiled Bertha Kaz, Minister for Science, who was already sitting beside Victoria.

“Just don’t tell me you invited Viscount Vickers,” replied Victoria to Prince Kazpia.

“No, the Space Strategos has quite enough enemy satellites to keep from our internet. Anyway, um, Sarah, welcome to the Liberal wing of the Liberal party.”

“Is this a plotting session?” asked Victoria.

“Exploratory,” replied Prince Kazpia, trying to be mysterious. “Oh, stuff it,” he continued immediately, deciding being forthright was more important. “The question is, if this gets bad, do we want a competent Prime Minister?”

Sarah opened her mouth and then shut it, looking between Victoria and Prince Kazpia.

“You’re not wanting the job just now, are you?” asked Victoria, a hint of steel in her voice.

“No more than you,” replied the Prince. “Look,” he said evenly, “you know we did a deal that when the time came I would go for external affairs and you would go for internal affairs to work out between us which of us should run.”

He turned to Sarah.

“That much is virtually public knowledge. What you didn’t know is that we were hoping the Prime Minister would stay on for at least another five years. Having the two of us at the top would just lead to endless media speculation and friction and to be frank it would get in the way of the fact that we’re … partners.”

“Oh, congratulations,” said Bertha, pretending very well to be surprised. “When did that happen?”

“May,” replied the Prince, “but don’t tell anyone.” He blushed.

“Politically we think it best that we remain independent actors,” continued Victoria. “What may happen in private has nothing to do with our public lives.” Then she changed gear. “So if I’m right the question you’re asking is not so much who should replace the Prime Minister but should anyone replace him,” she said, mulling it over. Then she looked up. “Here comes the fish.”

There was silence while the waiter approached.

“It’s alright, I cleared up this restaurant. He’s our butler, aren’t you Charles?”

Charles smiled back. “Onjoi,” he said, slipping in High Auxitorian, and then backed away.

“Thanks,” said the Prince. “Anyway, what are your thoughts? Sarah.”

Sarah was shocked to find herself on the spotlight.

“Well, he appointed me, so I feel …” she trailed off.

“We’re not talking about forcing him out,” replied the Prince. “He appointed Victoria and I. Look, I know he’s a good Prime Minister – likable, kindly, no firm opinions, no bright ideas, very pliable, and very well-intentioned; and at the same time surprisingly good at appreciating the bigger picture, even when he doesn’t understand it; and he’s good at inactivity. Just the sort of person to keep the show ambling down whatever road we want it to go down. To be honest he’s possibly the best Prime Minister Ausitoria’s had. But a wartime leader? I think not.”

“But who would replace him?” asked Victoria. “If we’re not careful it would be the Viscount Vickers.”

“He has no political experience,” replied Alice.

“But he absolutely has the ambition and the strategic grasp,” replied Prince Kazpia. “Anyway, I’m out of the running, thanks to the fact that I happen to be Marlylbesh, which isn’t fair but it doesn’t matter as it gives me an excuse not to go for the job. That factor also takes out both Dave and John from consideration, and also Louise with her private commercial interests, leaving only the Viscount, who is far too busy actually fighting the war to go into politics. The Ministers of Education and Health are possible contenders, but with them being lesbian together they’d be too worried of falling out. Antonie may fancy xself and anyone that moves but x’s virtually unknown and Charles in Local Government is too unpopular and Mary in State governments too. Martin is too busy being “down with the kids”. Ray is an excellent Minister of Energy, and Louise similarly good and he probably will run, but he can’t handle strategy and he has enough sense not to win. Mark and Ruth are new and yet somehow already stale. Tedo and Sarah have yet to define themselves… oh, yes, you’re here,” he said, glancing at her. “I just mean nobody knows whether you’re a lawyer or a social justice warrior. Anyway this means Victoria is the obvious candidate. If anything this is probably her best opportunity this decade.”

There was a pause. Prince Kazpia started work on the Salmon. “Forgive me if I have to talk with my mouth full a bit, it’s back to summit-land at 3:30 and I need a briefing. My aides are quite upset with me taking even half an hour off.”

Alice looked up moodily, and took a deep breath. “Go for it, if the Prime Minister shows any signs of wavering.”

“Self-awareness is not one of the Prime Minister’s talents,” replied Prince Kazpia. “He would have to be told.”

“Go for it if the war gets worse?” Alice suggested.

“Yes, what is the Decis Confederacy up too?” asked Bertha.

“We’re currently arguing over the ultimatum text. I want them to give us backing if it comes to a conventional war. They mostly don’t, although Neland is avowedly sympathetic. The Ministries of War are currently trying to work out what cyber-deterrent capacity we can activate. Another party is just telling us we should use the normal International Arbitration Court and claw the money back from their aid, but Clarissa – Permanent Secretary at the Exchequer – thinks it won’t be enough if the disruption lasts for more than three more days, and even then she doesn’t like the fact that the internet of Ausitoria is mostly closed to individuals around the rest of the world. She estimates it’ll cost us 0.5% in GDP per year in lost trade and competitiveness.”

“Plucked those numbers out of her brilliant brain?” asked Victoria.

“She’s the cleverest person in… the civil service,” replied Prince Kazpia diplomatically. “Perhaps not government,” he added, aware that three of the five people sitting at the table – Victoria, Alice, and himself - thought each other to be the cleverest person in government.

“Do we have support for nudging the Prime Minister out?” asked Victoria.

“If we want it,” replied Prince Kazpia. “You know more about it than I do, since you’re normally in the room with him.”

There was silence.

“Look, I’m very flattered that you think I should go for it,” said Victoria. “But the Prime Minister will want to give his ridiculous speeches about fighting on the beaches. You know how much he’s dreamt of leading the country to victory. If I’m to get rid of him I should have to stab him,” she sighed, “and,” she sighed again, almost on the verge of tears, “I won’t.”

The Prince opened his mouth to assure her that there would be another occasion. But she sat up and snapped back into business. “But never mind that. This is indeed the time to take control. I’m going to revise the internal affairs of the country by amalgating the Exterior and the Interior.” She looked at Prince Kazpia, who tilted his head to Alice.

“Alice, would you accept the post of Tribune Exterior,” Victoria asked.

“What about the current Tribune Exterior?” Alice replied, nodding to the Prince.

“The Foreign Secretary is a regional Prime Minister in his own right. He does not need to be Tribune Exterior,” replied Victoria, while the Prince, whose title it was, nodded his agreement.

“We owe you one,” the Prince said to Bertha. “Oh, actually, wait, that could leave a vacancy in the Ministry of Intelligence and Statistics. Victoria, I presume you’re taking the post of Tribune Interior from Argus?”

“How do we compensate him?” Victoria asked.

“Put Government Policy and Local Government under his control?” suggested the Prince. “Leave Tatiana safe in Tourism, Culture, and Parks, though. I’m not sure whether we should relieve Mary, State Government is a thankless minefield.”

“Replacing her would make it look like she’d failed,” replied Victoria. “Can’t you get her into Regional government instead?”

“I’m having a hard enough time getting nations to back us. Maybe… I could make her Viceroy of Panessos in Chattakang; and put her on the Panessos court. Sarah, you could take Science – then Mary could take Justice. Wait that doesn’t sound like a promotion for you. Let’s add Communications to Science. No, that’s unfair on Ray in Energy. Unless we move Tedo to Energy and Ray to Industry & Infrastructure, but then that’s unfair on Louise. Unless we move Louise to Trade & Commerce. What to do then with Francis? He’s virtually at retirement age already. What departments have we got left over?”

“Regional Government would be great for Francis; a challenge he’d relish. And then there’s Transport vacant,” replied Alice, excitedly.

“Louise is a bit corporatist for Commerce,” remarked Victoria. “Nor really in the open maritime tradition.”

“Hmmm, yeah, but that’s alright in wartime,” replied Prince Kazpia. “And we can find an ally for Transport fairly straightforwardly, either a political or technocratic appointment. Thus the only people to lose out will be Dave and John, and by extension Vickers, which is fine.”

Victoria, Alice, and Bertha smiled mischievously. Then they turned to Sarah.

“Is that ok?” Victoria asked. “Science and Communications?”

Sarah funnelled her brow. Science is not my area, she was thinking. But communications emergencies, yes.

“Can I have Transport oversight?”

Prince Kazpia scratched his forehead, working it out. “If we put the non-strategic infrastructure bits in Industry, statistics and strategy bits in MIS, and Universities in Education, it’ll leave a new Ministry of Communication Networks. We can put Military Policing, the Watch Office liaison, and the Postal Service under that too. Yes.”

“That’ll do,” said Victoria. “I’ll draft an open letter from the cabinet to the Prime Minister and… present it with a panda on the rocks,” she said, using a code that Sarah didn’t notice, but which the other three immediately recognized for presenting the reshuffle as an opportunity to keep out the Viscount Vickers.

“Good,” replied the Prince. “Ah, dessert, about time too. Although I think I’d better let my officials in on us now, I’ve been staying away for long enough... Alice, would you get on to Tedo and Raymond. Oh, and Tatiana, she should get the rest of Media and Fashion,” he said, while Crème Brulee was served.

Victoria suddenly chuckled. “Funny how the first act of my takeover is to break up the Ministry of Science. Good thing that Science is so universal anyway.”

“Actually we could still use that Ministry, just send bits of it around and add Strategic Communications to Transport,” replied Alice.

Victoria nodded. “Brilliant,” said the Prince. “And we have a vacant slot there to get another scientific minister into the government. Oh, also, Victoria, take the Whittan Secretary for yourself. You’ll need it to keep yourself just above Alice,” he said, smiling at her.

Alice smiled back. “You two are so cute,” she replied.

“Alice, if you’re going to be my new superior, should I call you my master or my mistress?” shot back the Prince.

Alice smirked. “Never mind the gossip columns about you and Victoria, there’ll be plenty between us.”

“You two…” replied Victoria.

Postby Azadistan-land of the free » Tue Jun 19, 2018 10:13 am

The Emir: considering that Munkchester has not invaded us(and so must have given up)we declare victory.
The enslavement is this considered an international crime but not a war crime.

Considering that all times an invasion of Munkchester was attempted Azadistani forces were completely massacred and the Azadistanis ended up looking like a bunch of clowns, we declare victory.
