"We surely seem to have luxury problems compared to you guys" - Silas says. "We tend to be 'average at best' ... though, I can't imagine anyone loves being humiliated."
"Maybe except for Stella Dorata" - Janine adds. "Otherwise they wouldn't be like ... what they're just like."
"They are more fun than something serious anyways. In every sense."
"Oh yes. Well, obesity is less of a problem in Lillorainen. Even if it was, we'd just go with you guys and leave it as an individual issue."

[The Huterric Union]

The group sit down at a restaurant and have dinner. The restaurant was situated by the river, and one could see the signs of the shops on the Lyde side of the river. On the Marceston side, where they were at, one could see signs for Vaperies (selling vapes), Coffee shops, drugeries, apothecaries, Seeing as one was in North Marceston, the skyscrapers of the surrounding area, especially Hytham, were noticeable. One could see the Evans Tower, the tallest building in the world, where multimillion dollar company Haithem are based. You could also see a skyscraper with flashing lights near the top reading "HUTERRICA RAIL -- HUDER BAHN -- HUTERRIKA ZUGBAHN". It was a breathtaking sight on a warm Lansaddian night.

Amazed by the size of the Evans Tower and all the other skyscrapers, Silas days, "Dammit, we should really upgrade a couple of our buildings."
"What do you think Silas" - Janine says, "how about the Lillatorn? We could easily stack a few more floors on it."
"With that top? Ma ne, I'd prefer digging a few more basements there. But hey. We still got plenty of space somewhere else."

"Hytham over there is one of the most important financial centres. Guarantee any Lillo business person working for an international corporation has been there. The government meets at.....that tower there" Milán states, pointing to a tower that flashes "HUTERRIC UNION HUDERISCHEN UNION UNION HUTERTIKAS" in Morse code with a yellow light.

"That reminds me - tomorrow we're going to a meeting of Congress where we discuss Lillorainen and what you intend to do for the Huterric Union. It lasts usually from 9am until 2pm, then one is free to go and enjoy their afternoon." Milán then continues.

Dominic is staring at the Evans Tower and mutters "Look, the future HQ of dying Lillorainian corporations", in reference to the fact Haithem quite commonly buy corporations that would otherwise be liquidated and assimilate them into the Haithem brand. This happened with Toys'R'Us in the UK, US, and within Huterrica, and also with HMV in the UK. Dominic hoped nobody heard his tongue in cheek comment that was somewhat filled with pride.

[Lillorainen]

Silas and Janine follow Dominic's stare.
"That's good to know" - Silas murmurs, referring to both. "Those doomed shalt go to the Evans Tower, those graced with eternal life shalt go to the Lillatorn."
"Where is thy sting, O Hell" - Janine sighs.
Silas laughs. "Probably hell's sting's where our Bad Banks will go."

"We need to take you to a Haithem. We'll go tomorrow. There is a fucking reason it's so successful. Once you go you'll really want one in Lillorainen. They're starting with Pontrath." Dominic says.

Night passes and it's a new day. Everyone's getting ready for the Congress meeting. They all arrive, and Dominic runs through the protocol. "All sessions are started with our national anthem. The president acts as speaker of the house and cannot share his opinions, but authorises these debates so sits on the main chair. he introduces, then Marc leads the discussion. You will be asked stuff, and then you ask them stuff. You're expected to be the first one to ask something as a base one so think of a question. The first verse of our anthem goes through the meaning of our flag, and the second goes through 6 key Huterric values"

The anthem starts. The Huterric anthem is known for how long it can be, as law states as long as your verse has 8 lines, starts with "Glory to the Union", and ends with "Glory to Huterrica", it's a verse of the anthem. Congress are only obliged to sing the 2 official verses. Everyone rises, puts their hands on their heart, and starts singing

The president then introduces "I, the President, officially start this session. Glory to me. Glory to Huterrica. We have friends from Lillorainen. Glory to them. Glory to Huterrica. Today we have the opportunity to get to know our new friends and find out more about our countries. Both ends will ask questions. To ask a question, please press the green "Yes" button to the left of your seat. To withdraw your desire, press the red "No" button. To answer, press the yellow "Abstain" one. Lillorainen to ask the first question. Presenting Silas Flemming. Glory to his name. Glory to Lillorainen."

Whenever "Glory to" was said, the whole sentence was chanted back.

Coming next day ...
Both Silas and Janine had slept quite well - no wonder, after that long day. They're perfectly awake and ready for the Congress meeting.
Both stand up and put their hands on their hearts as the Huterric national anthem is played. When it is finished, both bow in respect.
After the introduction, Silas presses the green button. "So yeah" - he speaks up, "ladies and gentlemen - as already mentioned, I'm Silas Flemming, President of the Federation of Lillorainen. This lady here is Head of the Presidential Office Janine Reusrath - my right hand, so to say. It is sincerely a pleasure for us to be here." He lets a beat pass. "So, now. What I would be interested in knowing first is how much space, and where, will be needed to be provided for Huterric companies to set up their facilities in Lillorainen. No big deal about it, I just would like to be prepared so we can arrange all that as soon as possible, for maximum efficiency."

A congressman presses the yellow button, and a voice says "Jackson Northfield, Congressman for Northernmost Laclanshire". This voice isn't present for Silas, who sits at the front where the president and Head of Congress is. Jackson says "Hello Silas Flemming. The answer to that is that you need to provide a space for headquarters, and a brownfield site to build whatever stores needed. Haithem does quite regularly buy out companies that would otherwise be liquidated, as part of its global domination. Small stores bought out are closed for expansion and the addition of several more floors, or for already large stores just close to add storeys to the structure. Most Haithem stores are about 4 storeys, though mezzanine floors are commonly made use of to create the illusion that they're double the height. Not at the Marquee, the flagship store. But several more companies want in Lillorainen. Lacrimosa Fashion Stores want in on the Lillorainen market. They'll just require a HQ and brownfield site."

Someone presses the green button, and the same automated voice says "Daniel Preston, Congressman for DLS Trenton West". Daniel then asks "What Lillorainian companies want in on the Huterric markets, and how should we prepare for their arrival?"

Silas pushed the yellow button and said, "Thank you sir. Now, to your question - a HQ building and a brownfield site will be required for Rottscheid Bräu, our country's largest brewery, as they clearly want into the Huterric market. Their products will most likely be delivered to existing supermarkets and other shops, so there won't be a lot more required. Same goes for Morschenich & Jäckrath, our biggest weapon producer. So, there is no need to worry - we don't require a lot of space."
Janine pushed the green button. "So, my question would be: what does Haithem's willingness to co-operate with local retailers look like? In other words, will Lillorainian companies that have centuries of tradition and enjoy a notable profit be able to agree to future co-operation offers without having to fear being bought out?"

A yellow button is pushed, and the automated voice says "Samantha Morales, Congresswoman for West St George". Samantha says "If the company if profiting then Haithem won't try and buy them out. They're quite co-operative. If the Lillorainian government lays down laws to prevent centuries old businesses from being bought out unless in serious trouble then Haithem will oblige. It's usually quite respectful of other corporations, and although it has a major presence here in many countries it doesn't have as big a presence. Haithem only really want to operate department stores. none of their cars or anything else they do. It's only the department store area that needs to worry."

Someone presses the green button and the voice says "Xanthe Taylor, Congessperson for Flemmingstone". They then say "Hi Silas. What's the general stance on immigration in Lillorainen, and is there anything your government wants us to consider about our policy in regards to Huterric-Lillorainen immigration"?

[Lillorainen]

Janine presses the yellow button. "Thank you for your answer, sir - this was all I was worrying about. Now, our immigration policy is very liberal - becoming a citizen of the Federation of Lillorainen is not exactly hard. I personally assume this is possible because there aren't many people actually using this opportunity. We even allow multiple citizenship in general ... Maybe it is just bad PR or something, I'm not sure. We would love the Huterric Union to acknowledge this, too, in the case of both our nation - if possible. So, while we're at it ..." - she presses the green button, "do you think that any point of our immigration policy needs to be reconsidered when it comes to Lillorainian-Huterric migration?"

Marc presses his yellow button, and a voice says "Marc Auckland, Head of Congress, Congressman for DLB Lyde". Marc goes through the agreement from the previous day's talks. He then says "This was agreed upon by both countries, and as thus we will ratify this into law a of today as part of the respective act it goes into"

A green button is pressed. The automated voice says "Louis Nixon, Congressman for Uxwater City". "Hello. Can we ask what the general opinion of whatever your equivalent of congress is on the Huterric Union?"

[Lillorainen]

Silas presses the yellow button. "Of course you may ask, sir. Both the Meritocratic Council and the State Chamber alike share a generally positive opinion on the Huterric Union, as it shares our values of freedom and our - for us, partially, at least - Germanic heritage. Also, the Huterric Union appears to us as a role model when it comes to efficiency." He presses the green button. "Now, while we're at it - what is the Congress' general opinion on the Federation of Lillorainen?"

A yellow button is pressed. "Iain Hines, Congressman for North Drennpool". Iain then speaks up. "Depends on party. You see, we are a democracy, and different parties have different views. Most parties here are positive about your federation, though the Conservatives are against on the basis they think we should focus on our own country over diplomacy, and Huterrics First because, well, they're just racist."

Luckily no HF members were there to boo Iain for his true statement. They condone the use of racial slurs if that says anything. Iain then takes the opportunity to ask, pressing the green button, "Is there any major desires Lillorainen has for us? basically: What do your government and civilians desire from us to improve life for you lot?"

Silas nods. Of course, there are some members of the MC and SC who, for some odd reason, have such an attitude, too. He presses the yellow button. "Thank you sir. Now, what would definitely improve the lives of us all would be sharing any results of medical research. Of course, we would reciprocate this, if we find some cure for whatever deseases. Our medical research facilities could cooperate in this."
Janine presses the green button. "To reciprocate this question - what major desires may the Huterric Union have for us?"

A yellow button is pressed and the voice says "Harrison Welsh, Congressman for the City of Doddan". he says "I think most of each other's desires we drafted up in whatever treaty you signed with us. To address the medical situation, you'll have to get your pharmaceutical companies in contact with our companies. The research is conducted in Lansadas, and the production of drugs and medical equipment is done so in the city of Lakeland."
