  • Venue And Stage
Image

The venue that will host the WHF is the “Örkendrem Nätionaljë Foëtbäll Arëna” (Örkendrem National Football (Soccer) Arena). I know what you are going to say
“Darky, why a football stadium with 20 000 seats?”. The reason why it will be hosted in ÖNFA is that it was built with a retractable roof. Plus, if you add 5 000 more seats, it makes it the perfect venue for the WHF. Sure, it's 15 000 less than last year, but it doesn't matter, as this will be the location for someone who will get their wish come true and gets their name written in the stars forever.
When the venue was built in 2008 to 2013, its cost around £205 million to build. But the price aside, its been well used, as it has been used from football-matches, to concerts, to even two live broadcasts of the final of “Darkmanias Got Talent”. ÖNFA will add the WHF to their list of things they have hosted.

Image

Ok. The stage is the same as Oslo 2010. There is no LED wall this time, so its a challenge to adapt to the stage. Don't worry, the alternative lightning wall used in 2010 will be used. You can use what you want. Pyro. Smoke. Fire. Confetti. Epic Sax Guy. There are over 25 cameras looking at the stage at once. So whatever happens on stage, will be broadcasted to millions of viewers who have turned on to watch and to cheer on their country and their performing act.

Entries

Important Information: As written by Britonisea, which was written by Kalosia for WHF26: The host (Aka for WHF39, Darkmania) reserves the right to make alterations to your RP when copying it over to the IC thread. However, these alterations will be limited to cleaning up the formatting as well as adding (not deleting) RP regarding the situation in the arena (i.e. how the audience reacted). Substantial/major alterations will not be made without written permission, and any further changes to an entry within the IC thread will only be done upon written request by the user behind it, and with host discretion.

Helping Your Host: As you all know, this is my first event I host here in NS. So this part is the most important one. I ask you to keep it simple and use the [ box]-code instead of [ Pre]-code. It's fine if use colours to show who sings on what line, but you don’t need to abuse the heck out of BBCode.

WIP Entries: Entries that has the "WIP" or "Work In Progress" by the time the IC-Thread is open will NOT posted on said Thread. If you consider your entry as done, remember to take out the WIP-tag. I will telegram you if I am unsure about your entry.

Headers: The WHF-header for WHF39 will be “The Darkmanian Header”. The header is used by Darkmania, TIDS Hiklarmangia and Vartugia in all of the song contests that they take part in. It will be the standard for WHF, and there will be no modification of the header. Changes made to the header will be removed when transferring your entry to the IC-thread.

Code: Select all
[align=center][b][size=200]00.(NationName)[/size][/b][/align]
[align=center][b][size=100](NameOnPeformer)- "[i](NameOnSong)[/i]”[/size][/b][/align]
[align=center][b][size=50][url=(YT-LINK)](TuneLinked)[/url][/b][/size][/align]

Example on a valid Header.

Särä DeLörna - "Den Siste Høst

After 11 attempts at World Hit Festival, Darkmania finally became the winner and is, therefore, the host of this time around. One hour after Cärtenne Sërnänä lifted the trophy in Britonisea, DaTV confirmed that Darkmania was hosting The 39th World Hit Festival in Örkendrem, the capital of Darkmania. The organization has not gone without controversy, as local darkmanian all over have criticized DaTV on "wasting money on a one night show". In response of this, the LED-walls was cut out in order to save money. Its surely a helper by the fact that DaTV has some noticeable debt issues, but it will not overshadow DaTV`s moment as "first-time hoster". To defend the honor of Darkmania, DaTV internally selects Särä DeLörna, a 17-year-old singer who sings "Den Siste Høst", (The Last Autumn), a song that was written and is dedicated by her grandfather, who passed away at age of 80 due to cancer.

The postcard has played and ÖNFA is drowned in the loudest cheering of the night. It's the host-nation who performs after all. Särä is joined by a male cello player, and a female dancer. With a a dress like this, but with less skin, and using a mic-stand for almost all of the song, we wish her good luck to her. And may she defend Darkmania`s honor.

The light wall shines light-green light but its not as bright. For evertyine she sings, there is always a new camerashot that not come to her. No steadycam are used for now, only the studio cameras.
Jeg er her, venter på deg.
(I am here, waiting for you)

Du sa du skulle på en tur alene
(You said that you shall go on a trip alone)

Så dro du alene og kommer ikke tilbake
(Then you left alone and never came back)

Når du ble svakere
(When you become weaker)

Naturen ga deg gift
((The) Nature gave you posion)

The wind maschine turns on and as a touch, the smoke begins to cover the stage as a long steady-can shot from the right flies around her and ends on the left side of the stage. We also see both of the two background characters still on the stage.

Vi møttes igjen oss to, en annen dag
(We meet again us to, some day)

Hvis du kommer hit igjen levende
(When you came here again alive)

Paradis får en ny engel
(Paradise gets a new angel)

Jorden for en mindre engel
(The earth gets one less angel)

Og du lærer engler å fly der oppe du er
(And you are learning angels to fly up there)

Du var den jeg så opp på hele tiden
(You was the one i saw up to all the time)

Vi møttes igjen oss to, en annen dag
(We meet again us to, some day)

År blir til år her nede på jorden
(We meet again us to, some day)

Naturen flytter deg til himmel
Jeg vet at du her here en sted så jeg er her
Når jeg ser deg en dag

Jeg er her, og venter på deg
Bare du var her nå
Jeg vet ikke hvor du er
Hvor er du når jeg er her?

Når du ble svakere
(When you got weaker)

Naturen ga deg gift
((The) Nature gave you posion)

Vi møttes igjen oss to, en annen dag
(We meet again us to, some day)

Hvis du kommer hit igjen levende
(When you came here again alive)

Paradis får en ny engel
(Paradise gets a new angel)

Jorden for en mindre engel
(The earth gets one less angel)

Og du lærer engler å fly der oppe du er
(And you are learning angels to fly up there)

Du var den jeg så opp på hele tiden
Vi møttes igjen oss to, en annen dag
(We meet again us to, some day)

År blir til år her nede på jorden
(Years turns to years here down on earth)

Narturen flytter deg til himmel
Jeg vet at du her here en sted så jeg er her
Når jeg ser deg en dag

Når du ble svakere
(When you got weaker)

As the camera crane flies past her as she had reached the "island" stage via the catwalk, she is now seen all alone on stage. There is only her and a chair left. The school-chair like chair is placed exatuøy in the middle of the "island" stage and she sits down. The music cuts out and she sings the last lines without music that normally plays in the background. After she had sat down, the light wall begins to fade to a turned off status and the only lights that keep her light up, is the spotlight that light her up.

Naturen flytter deg til himmel
(Nature moves to hevean)

Jeg vet at du her here en sted så jeg er her
(I know tgar your are here somewhere so i am here)

Når jeg ser deg en dag
(When i see you one day)

Särä can`t keep her tears as ÖNFA once again drowns in the biggest cheering of the night. "Tusen takk, Ørkendrem. Tÿsten Täcktar, Örkendrem". Särä`s word as said while siting on the chair can be heard even if its blend in with the loud cheering. We see shots of darkmanian fans who have come to see Särä win in Örkendrem. A lot of flags in green, blue and red dominate the sea of flags while not being too dominating for the other flags that are present.

Slavie are a darkmanian "singer" who sadly came to his mother-land to do whatever he is doing. Lets hope he doesnt fuck up, eh?

He has his "Im gonna win the Barbara Dex Awards again" look. For some reason, this mic has a glitch that make him louder than he sings, hence all lyric is in CAPS LOCK. He is just standing there being loud and annoing.

This is a puppet for Darkmania.

This is mostly only used for joke RP with"of the best English that is of perfect". If I accidentally use this instead of my main, then blame Canada.

LIGHT - "A Requiem for Empathy

Hello, my honey
My wonderful sunshine
Have you been sleeping well?
I know things haven't been lovely
The funeral bells won't stop their chime
Have you been sleeping well? Have you been sleeping well?

This world is far too surreal
This world is far too loud
Have you been sleeping well?
Wonderland's madness is brought to kneel
Alice would be proud
Have you been sleeping well? Have you been sleeping well?

I hope you find rest
Because I just cannot
Have you been sleeping well?
I am now a soldier in the soldier's nest
Protecting you while the world will not
Have you been sleeping well? Have you been sleeping well?

Have you been sleeping well...?

00.Normandy and Picardy
Julie Arsenelle - "Tragedy
Natalia Nykiel - Kokosanki

After their successful return to WorldVision, albeit against their will as they really didn't want to run the risk of winning it for reasons only known to them really, NNN had decided they were going to expand their music and foreign cultural programming again, as it used to be before the financial crash that had forced Normandy and Picardy to leave the World Hit Festival. The World Hit Festival was, to the heads of NNN, a lot more respectable, and they would even deal with winning it. Not that they would need to worry about that, as they hadn't won since they hosted the disaster of a contest in WHF24, although they had come agonisingly close in WHF32 and had hosted WHF33. The fans hoped that the curse would be broken by the hiatus, alongside the return of Chameliya to the contest. NNN were very much hoping to do well but not win. I can, however confirm, that they didn't turn to witchcraft in an attempt to resolve this; the now-revived WHF department would be able to perform enough magic of their own volition.

So the search began in earnest for the act that would hopefully take Normandy and Picardy into the top 3 but not win. Jean Le Havre, the new head of delegation, was incredibly keen and began asking around the record labels and anyone who so much as whistled a single note was a candidate. Nothing was to be left to chance. Eventually, after months of tiring searching with NNN Accounting breathing down his back because WHF was apparently taking up a disproportionate amount of funding, Jean had found three songs. Then, he decided to do something novel. He invited members of the Normand WHF fan club, a Normand professional jury of musicians and industry experts and a 'people's jury' made up of 'random volunteers', and they at first chose 'Twirling' by Gerard Marcellant. Everything was set; he began doing the promo work, he was officially confirmed as the entry and the preparations began to be made.

Then, something catastrophic happened. Gerard was forced to pull out of the contest - thankfully just before his postcard was filmed - due to a familial issue and suddenly the entirity of NNN's plans were in jeopardy. What could they do? They had kept contact with one of the acts that had been up for consideration, Julie Arsenelle. She won the internal jury vote, but there was a dispute within NNN over what to do as the chief executive really wanted to send 'Twirling'. Eventually, Gerard was chosen, and naturally Julie wasn't best pleased, nor was she of an amiable disposition when NNN came to her and asked her to represent Normandy and Picardy. However, she had always wanted to compete at WHF and now that Normandy and Picardy were back in the contest she just couldn't say no. She had her way though; she would have full creative control for the staging at the contest.

Julie Arsenelle is a 27 year old musician and fashion designer from Rouen, in the north east of the country, where she has lived all of her life. She first came to public attention on the Normand talent show 'L'Étoile' (The Star, sort of like The Voice), where she wowed the judges and eventually won the show in a landslide. She has been rather successful as far as winners of talent shows go, even in Normandy and Picardy, with her first album reaching number one in the charts last year. She is known for her tongue-in-cheek performances and songs tackling modern issues, including this song. 'Tragedy' is about the dangers of becoming obssessed with beauty and with social media, and the destructive lengths some people will go to to become 'famous' and 'attractive'. Julie told NNN News that a friend of hers had been negatively affected by this sort of thing, and that the song has a special meaning to her. She wanted to do really well and do the song and her friend justice, and this was manifested in months of preparation and rehearsals. Then, it was finally upon her. Everything was wild. Everything was crazy. Could she really do it? Let's see...

The final touches were being made as the postcard came to a close, and Julie was waiting nervously in the darkness of the arena; it was going to be her time, at last. She was going to perform in front of the whole multiverse. The technicians run hurriedly off stage and everything was in place. It began. A faint pink spotlight faded into existence on the centre of the stage as the song began, slowly revealing Julie in something resembling Yves Saint-Laurent's Mondrian dresses, but a bit more shapely. A white hand reached up from below the camera shot, holding a mirror, or at least what appeared to be a mirror. However, when the camera panned round to show Julie's view, it showed the image of a horrible monster. Julie swated it away, almost like it was some sort of bug, on the drumbeat before the verse began. She suddenly turned around to face another camera, as the light wall in the background began to light up. The lights formed what, due to the angle of the camera shot, appeared to be a halo around her head. Coloured bands seemed to eminate from her in a series of colours, such as those on her dress as well as vivid hot pink. The camera shot began close to her head but slowly zoomed out over time. Using the wonders of augmented reality technology, a series of sale signs and 'bargain' offers in the same bright colours shown flash across the screen at points through the verse. The camera shot swapped again to the left of the stage, in front of a carboard cutout of a phone screen, fitting with Julie's limits. She began to walk towards it and tried to kick it over, but it simply rebounded back up.

Worship me all the time, tell me that I'm your queen
Look into my eyes, they're everything that you need
Image after image, I'm trapped in my phone
But I can't stop this, oh no
I'm addicted and I keep wanting more

As the chorus began, the viewers at home got a large sweeping shot of the stage. Julie was not alone, but on the back, slightly extended walkway section of the stage there were a series of dancers. They were dressed all in black, their faces obsucred, and a series of large signs much like the sales signs shown during the first verse. The light wall in the background was lit up in the colours of the Mondrian dress, with the different shapes appearing to move about slowly, whilst Julie walked back towards the centre.

It's such a tragedy
So difficult being me
As I take another shot
I dream that I'll be famous, you'll see

As the second verse began, Julie returned to the centre of the stage, where the camera again focused on her and began to pan around her. The dancers from the background, four in total, walked down the walkway two on each side and formed a circle around Julie, lying down and looking up to her as she posed and flaunted herself, pulling on her cheek during the second line in line with the lyrics. One of them pulled out an old polaroid picture of Julie and took a photo. The camera continued panning around and was zooming out slowly as it did so. All the time, Julie's movements were becoming more robotic and more restricted.

Selling all of myself to fund another photoshoot
Do I look big in my skin?
If so I'll throw it all away
I'll mint coins from my flesh
To get another rush
I'll just laugh as I sign my children's ashes away

As the chorus began again, the audience at home were given a shot over the audience and up to the stage, with Julie in the centre moving about with the dancers moving around her, in a manner like the robots in the video for Daft Punk's 'Around the World'. They got closer and closer to her, to the point where she had to break free and began to move towards the right hand stage, but she seemed to struggle to move up until the point where she actually stopped entirely. The lights dimmed somewhat as the camera panned around her, only her eyes moving as she visibly tried to move the rest of her body. She was stood on some sort of lazy susan type device, and she began to move around as the lights faded in and out, and she began to appear and come out of shot, as the lights in the background also dimmed and stopped changing colour; they settled on the same shade of pink as the spotlight at the beginning.

It's such a tragedy
So difficult being me
As I take another shot
I dream that I'll be famous, you'll see

As she span around, the lights turned to a sharp white colour and began to flash on and off, whilst the dancers edged forwards, appearing to jump forwards due to the flashing of the lights. They began to wrap Julie in tape with the words 'Sale!', 'Buy One Get One Free', and 'Low Low Prices' emblazoned on it, walking her and wrapping her in it. The cameras kept panning around her interspersed with wider shots. As the chorus began for the last time, the lights returned for normal as Julie continued to spin, surrounded in the tape. The camera followed her as she spun, before going round in the opposite direction briefly (although not too long, no need to make anyone sick). The dancers began to fight amongst each other, although no fists made contact with any faces. As the final instrumental began, Julie seemed to disappear, whilst in the background the words 'Sale!', 'Like' and 'Follow' were shown in red letters by the light wall. She reappeared trying to walk towards the left of the stage, untangling herself from the tape, but the dancers try to hold her back. The camera moves around, to show reaching out of the phone screen that was shown earlier. One of the dancers walks around and presses a button, causing Julie to be coloured in red (by a light above) and then disappear as the song draws to a close.

It's such a tragedy
So difficult to be me
As I take another shot
I dream that I'll be famous, you'll see

It was done, Julie had performed. Now all she could do was wait to see how she did.

Empire of Amenria

A brief intro of the song goint to be performed is played. One thin, young, handsome Asian man enters the stage on rollerskates, jumping and spinning before landing on the centre. From the other side, another one joins him, this one on a skateboard. He did a little jump himself and positioned himself next to the first man. Two more on skateboards join them from different sides of the stage. They touched their hands together while crossing the stage before standing on either side of their friends who came earlier. The last man to join them parkoured into the stage from a seat. When all men have gathered on stage, their backup dancers came and they were all ready to perform. The dancers kneeled on the floor in front of the men, who put their skateboards away. Slowly, the women on the floor stood and BGT jumped forward, doing energetic gestures.

Hey!
Gadis Gadis Gadis Manis
Gadis Gadis Gadis Manis

Hey!
Sweet girl

BGT moved back, with the exception of Tono, the maknae (youngest member) of the group, and Joni, the leader. Joni stood back to back with Tono, with the latter facing the audience. The backup dancers were now doing body waves between the two in front and the other members

Kau mau kemana?
Kenapa sendirian?
Wajahmu, suaramu, penuh dengan kesedihan
Ayolah kemari dan katakan, ceritakanlah
Aku disini untuk menenangkanmu dan mendengarkan keluhanmu

Where are you going?
Why are you alone?
Your face, your voice is filled with sadness
Come here and tell me
I'm here to calm you down and listen to your worries

The two then turned around and switched places. Joni is now in front and Tono is walking to the back if the stage. The eldest member then begins to sing his lines

Tak perlu menangis, jangan bersedih oh manisku oh oh

Yang akan membuatmu senyum kembali ialah aku

'Cuz I love you

No need to cry, don't be sad, my sweet
I'm the one who will make you smile again

Gadis Gadis Gadis Manis
Gadis Gadis Gadis Manis

Janganlah menangis oh wah

Gadis Gadis Gadis Manis
Gadis Gadis Gadis Manis

Tersenyumlah

Gadis Gadis Gadis Manis
Gadis Gadis Gadis Manis

Janganlah bersedih oh wah

Sweet girl
Don't cry oh wah
Sweet girl
Smile
Sweet girl
Don't be sad oh wah

Unidentified Entity That Has Been Identified As Possibly Kalosian But Most Likely Not And Also Identifies As Female And Most Likely Is But Hasn't Gone Through Childbirth Quite Yet So We're Not Really Sure But It Does Seem To Have A Uterus So We Might As Well Call It Female Also It is Leftist But Nobody Knows Why Or How So We Might As Well Assume It is And Not Offend It Or Any Of It's Fans Because That Would Be Messy And Controversial And The World Hit Festival Is Not About Any Of Those Things So We Might As Well Accept And Indulge It An Oh Shet The Entry Is Starting So We Must End This Name Yup Oh Crap Where Is The Period Button Ha HA Period Aren't We Funny And Full Stop Now - "I'm Not A Boy (COK EGG)

An ostensibly human figure appears on stage and makes very exaggerated motions that are highly offensive to the audience, with an emphasis on buttcheek dynamics and cellulite manipulation. It is wrapped in a Kalosian flag. No one knows why.
BRRREEET
OGOOGOGGHHO
AIAIGGIIABBGBFRBRBRBRBRBRR
dun dun dun dun

Look at me, I'm a Kalosian creature
I can live in a compact two-seater

This creature tears its way to the center of the audience and begins angrily chortling
Hold my grubs, look at this striking young rooster, cluck cluck bok ook, cluck cluck bok ook

It detonates while singing, pieces of flesh splashing on every audience member while still singing like an absolute GODDESS
I'm not a boyyyyyyyy (not a BOYYY)
bok buk oiiiiiiii (kuki kuki kuki bokbokboo)
you bigot oiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
bok buk oiiiiiiii (kuki kuki kuki bokbokboo)

After some extensive manipulation of physical features, it reconsolidates into a semisolid body with limbs
I have five feathers, make you quiver
Arrows in my hole, roast me like rotisserie

badly out of place twerking
I'm not a boyyyyy (NOT AN OYYYYYYY)
(COK COK EGGG
COK COK EGGG)
I'm not a boyyyyy
You big land egg
(COK COK EGGG
A COK A COK A EGG

She suddenly becomes female and identifies as such and spins about wildly as if she originated from a cartoon. This is the point where our dear entity loses all coherency, embracing the true spirit of the song
GUCCI GUCCI GUCCI GUCCI COK COK EGG
GUCCI GUCCI GUCCI BOURGEOIS PEG

She spins into an anti cyclone and embeds a piece of herself into every audience member's heart, literally and physically. It is painful yet beautiful and transcendant with amazing shapes and colouuuuuurs. If Mister X were competing in this amazing contest they'd be offended by this terminology but it's not so that is beautiful in its own right. Welcome to WHF.
LSFJL:FJLDSKFJLSKFJLSDFJLSDFJLSD:F*EWH*EW(HIENVG(HVEHGEFOEJEWEIOJIHEWOGV
FOEFJOIWFHE WFHOIWE JHEWEIGH EWOGNWEGNEIRGURGOHRUG
FGHEOWEWOFJOWEIJWEJI TOEWIIEH EWGHROEIG HORWG

Clearly at this point our beloved performer is going a touch off script, and taking some liberties with the lyrics. However it is entirely within the spirit and nature of the song, and thus entirely acceptable withing the scope of the piece. Oh, right, and the lights are doing something interesting. At this point the lights are probably strobing like an utter madman and inducing epilepsy in those that absolutely should not be prone to such a condition. Do not question the efficacy of the procedure, it is simply routine in Merecendi. Also there are many colors which are beautiful by various standards.
AIAIAIAIHFGGHGHGHAIIAIAIHGGHIAIHGIGHIAGHAIGAIGHAIG
SJDFJSDLKFJLSDKN NVOAOIFJEIOEWNVOIHIFLJFO
FLFJOSDFIENWOVNOIEN

By this point, Kalosians have realized that the entity is speaking their language, and really come in tune with the deep message of the lyrics. They are absolutely enamored by the subtleties of the language, the careful phrasing of each NVAOIF and DFJSDLKF with the sweeping, bouncing music, and praise the glory of Merecendi in all its multitude of shapes and sizes. There is no God but Merecendi.
FHDKSJkjxclxkcjl;cjxkljnmn,xnvxcn,c.b.bmv,c.bn,cvbn,vcnbvc,mbn/mg/[]p[]]p][;];]/./././/././.,.,.,.,.

By this time, the song is winding down. A total sense of fulfillment is being achieved by all who understand the beatific language of ASDFGHJKLD, which all Kalosians understand by heart at a young young age. Rose petals fall from the ceiling like a divine blizzard borne of Aphrodite's sweat. It is beautiful. It is stunning. It is revolutionary. It is WHF. Welcome. And goodbye.

"THANK YOU ORC AND DRAM WE LOVETH YOUUU ALL THANK YOU-" yells the entity as she is cut off by the Darkmanian hosts who mispronounce "Merecendi" as "Mercdnesdinidi"

Maria Alfassa - "Always Be That Way

Background
Following Adab’s stunning success at the 64th WorldVision Song Contest, where the country managed to achieve fifth place in its first foray into the contest without Kinan al-Salaman onstage, the powers that be of Adabian music – most notably Emperor Tizqar III and al-Salaman himself, now contributing from behind the scenes as Adab’s WorldVision songwriter – quickly laid out the blueprint for future Adabian participation in music contests, which the press quickly named the “Al-Salaman Plan”. Most notably, it called for Adab to increase its visibility in the international music scene through participation in the World Hit Festival, a contest which the country had hitherto ignored in favor of the WorldVision Song Contest. Kinan al-Salaman was promptly appointed as Adab’s WHF songwriter, although otherwise there was no change from the existing arrangement between him and the Emperor; the artist would be chosen by the Emperor, whether al-Salaman liked it or not, and the latter would then write something that would suit said artist.

The Emperor, or whoever was working on his behalf, promptly found their ideal representative to the WHF stage in Maria Alfassa, a 22-year-old up-and-coming singer. Maria had started her career singing country, and it was by singing country songs – some she wrote herself, some written by others – that she first stormed the Adab Top 100 at the age of 18. Her rise continued unabated, even if her music slowly shifted towards pop and then veered between pop and country, culminating in her first number one single, the country pop tune “That’s the Way I Love Him”, which practically confirmed her as Adab’s first representative to the World Hit Festival. Quite many were skeptical of Maria, seeing her as nothing more than a “safe choice”, and some criticized her music for being “stale” and sometimes “too mellow”, but Kinan al-Salaman remained optimistic about the young woman’s prospects. “I already have a song in mind for her,” he said in a recent interview, in which he also admitted that he had sought the help of young balladeer Adwil Razz in writing the song, claiming time constraints. “I look forward to working with her. Now we’ll see how it goes.”

The performance
Quietly and serenely, Maria Alfassa, in a white, pristine dress and hat (which, if the rumors were true, had been personally picked by herself to project an image of carefree innocence and virginity) walked onto the eyes of the some twenty thousand people gathered at the Örkendrem National Football Arena. She was shaking a little beneath that dress, but hid it with that radiant smile for which she had become known. After all, this was her first time performing before an international audience. She had practiced the lines over and over again, with her family, friends, al-Salaman, and Razz watching from behind the glass walls of al-Salaman’s home studio. Perhaps it had prepared her for the real deal, perhaps it hadn’t, but Maria could not change the past, and tonight she was determined to give it her best shot.

An electric piano had been set up at the center of the stage. Maria could feel the purplish wall staring down at her, its specks of light shining on her and the piano, and the audience gazing at her. As she sat by the piano, a string orchestra made its entry, streaming onto that dark corner of the stage. Now some of the lights focused on that corner, revealing the seats which had been prepared for the orchestra.

“Thank you,” Maria said, gazing at the audience, smiling, holding onto the mic on the piano lid. Her nimble fingers began dancing on the keyboard, and the orchestra followed the lead.

If we should go our separate ways
Keep me in my mind, my friend
Don’t cry now, we’ll have had a good run
We just won’t expect it to end

If you should walk away from me
Or I walk away from you
Look behind you, it’s your same old friend
And, yes, it will always be that way

The stage and the wall had now gone dark, save for the lights now focused solely on Maria and the orchestra. But now the colors pink, yellow, and white (but predominantly pink) shone brightly adorning the edge of the stage, forming a ring of those colors surrounding the darkness. This was intended to evoke the image of a rose and the idea of innocence.

I look around, it always comes back to you
Lucky am I to have my light
I can’t stand the pain, no I can’t stand the pain
Of watching you walk out that way

The floor surrounding Maria and the piano was now slightly elevated above the rest of the stage, symbolizing the uncertainty and loneliness that she was feeling at the moment. The lights shone on her still, and the orchestra below. A gaze and a smile from the young woman was greeted with cheers and applauses from an audience which otherwise watched her in mesmerized silence.

If we should see it fit to part
I would not know which path to take
I feel the road will take me back to you
But you will have gone away anyway

If we should see it fit to part
I would not know which path to take
I feel the road will take me back to you
But you will have gone away anyway

And now it’s all over. The piano had come back to ground level, taking its player with it. The darkness disappeared as all the lights were now back on. Amid all the applauses, quite many in the audience rose and gave Maria a standing ovation. Roses steadily rained down on the stage and on the audience. “Thank you! Thank you very much!” Maria said, rising from her seat. She and the orchestra gathered at the front of the stage for a final bow, after which, wading their way through the roses, they disappeared backstage.

Alisé Baker - "Won't Let Go

Nightom is returning to the World Hit Festival after it's quite successful run at the World Hit Festival over five editions ago. The nation did pull out of the contest for it's own reasons - such as governmental issues. Nightom is returning to the contest with the singer, Alisé Baker, who is hoping to add to Nightom's success in international song contests.

Nightom's Alisé walked to the stage and stood in front of four lights, there were placed on the stage looking up towards her. Alisé looked forward towards the audience and smiled as Nightom's postcard finished. She raised her hands out to the audience as the song started. A close-up shot of her face was the first of many camera shots to come in the performance. None of the lights in the arena were on except for the four on the floor, which darkened her face.

I'm here forever, won't you let go.
Here from the start because I love you so.
You're the one, that I live for.
Even through hardship, I had your back.
Forget circumstances, we had a pact.
Won't let go, not now, I won't.
If you can't see me by your side,
It looks like you've made your mind.

There was a long shot of a spotlight slowly focusing on Alisé, which did light up her face. She smiled as a steadicam came towards her. She turned towards it, slowly grasping towards the camera and it flows past her.

Go.... run till you see the sunset,
Go, until you're legs need to rest.
But when you're done, please come back home.
Oh, I'm not ready to let go...
Oh, run till you see the sunrise...
Come back before our end is nigh.
But there's one thing that you must know,
I am not ready to let go

After the chorus, the lights behind her slowly started to glistened with a dark blue - giving the arena a bit colour from the darkness it was. Alisé took a deep breath as she readied herself to sing the next verse of this song - this very technical song.

I've made mistakes, and you've made them too.
I am not saintly, but neither are you.
Look at us! We're so alike.
But I won't stop in my pursuit,
To keep us as one, not two.

At this part, the camera was placed at a high angle in the arena. All of the lights that were behind her all lit up in to yellowish-gold, and as the lights twinkled in the arena, the camera slowly zoomed outwards to show all of the stage, which responded to the next chorus of the song.

Go.... run till you see the sunset,
Go, until you're legs need to rest.
But when you're done, please come back home.
Oh, I'm not ready to let go...
Oh, run till you see the sunrise...
Come back before our end is nigh.
But there's one thing that you must know,
I am not ready to let...

At the end of the chorus, all of the lights slowly faded away, with the close-up shots coming back - similar to how it was. She sang straight in to the camera when it focused on her. She had a tear slowly dripping down her face.

This break us, it can't break us.
It tear us, it won't tear us up.
Won't let go, won't let go...
I will not stop in my persuit,
To keep us as one, not two!
Go, until you're legs need to rest!!

At this dramatic part, the camera quickly zoomed out as sparklers shot in to the air at each beat. Fans were turned on which made Alisé's hair blow. The whole arena was golden, which was definitely shown when the camera zoomed outwards.

But when you're done, please come back home.
Oh, I'm not ready to let go...
Oh, run till you see the sunrise...
Come back before our end is nigh.
But there's one thing that you must know,
I am not ready to let go.

At the end of the song, all of the lights in the arena turned off, except the light that was focused on her. Everyone in the arena applauded for Nightom and Miss Baker, "Thank you very much, thank you very much!" she said mutely in to the microphone before waving. The next act was to perform...

Einherjar - "Set The Sail

Image
From left to right: Emil Börklund (drums), Arvi Finson (guitar), Edgar Janson (guitar/vocals), Anders Sörensen (violin), Magdalena Berg (keyboards)

Einherjar is a viking folk metal band originating from Malmberg, Kalmarlund. Chosen by K×T through internal selection, Einherjar was granted a right to represent the nation in Örkendrem with their song ''Set The Sail.''

Performance:

Lights on the arena are set off. As Einherjar starts playing their instruments, lights on the arena start flashing on and off to the rhythm of the music.

Hey-hoo, set the sail!

After about 6 seconds, lights go full on and the band can be seen standing on the stage. They have formed an oval shape with Edgar standing in front, Arvi and Anders on the either side behind him and further back, there are Emil and Magdalena. At the left side of the band, there is a decorative longboat sail placed on the stage. Some light, dusty smoke is covering the floor

Time to come aboard and set the sail,
It is time to leave home and prepare for a raid.
Vikings we are, time to plunder it all,
We be born for the sea, no destination is too far.

We live each day like there's nothing to lose,
Drifting towards Vinland on a fun little cruise.
Whenever we hear the death rattle
We have no time to fear, prepare for battle.

Camera starts rotating around the band. Band members are showing their 'war face' as the camera passes them.

Come aboard and set the sail,
We go for journey and we will prevail.
As we return with what we were looking for,
We praise for success the almighty Thor.

Come aboard and set the sail,
We go for journey and we will prevail.
As we return with what we were looking for,
We praise for success the almighty Thor.

Band members put their left fists above their heads and start pumping them up and down.

Hei! [x15]

Band members start jogging around on the stage, with camera moving around in the middle of them. Every once in a while, one or another band members does a goofy face to the camera before jogging around. As the instrumental break ends, they all return to their spots and Edgar starts singing the second verse.

We've sailed over seas straight from Malmberg,
Through the Gulf of Strömby, ended up in Örkendrem.
Local girls with necklaces made of shiny beads,
All went crazy when seeing our mighty red beards.

With daily pillaging we are having some fun,
Though some days we end up with nothing but a crumb.
But even if we take an arrow in the knee,
We won't stop, we are Vikings born wild and free.

Camera takes a quick shot into the crowd, where we see some Kalmarlundian fans dancing along to the song, before showing the stage again. The band is staying in their positions during the chorus.

Edgar takes a step backwards, letting Anders take his spot for a moment, who sets up his violin and starts playing it. After the instrumental break, they change places again as Edgar starts singing the final verse.

Band members put their left fists above their heads one more time and move them up and down as they shout out:

Hei! [x8]

As the song ends, audience starts cheering while the band members are smiling on the stage. Edgar puts his right arm up and says: ''Tusen takk, Örkendrem!'' Einherjar is staying on the stage for a moment before leaving.

L'Anima - Cantarás (You will sing)
At the tune of: Passerá - Il Divo

Las canciones no se escriben, no, (Songs are not written, no,)
existen de por sí. (they exist by themselves.)
Son ventanas hacia lo que nos (They're open windows to)
rodea a tí y a mi. (evry'thing that's around you and me.)

Las canciones para todos son, (Songs are for everybody)

Las canciones son ladrones que (Songs are thieves that...)
robaron la poesía, (stole poetry,)
que se hicieron engañosas, (they are mischievous,)
como la alegría (just like happiness)
le añadieron sus tonadas y (they added melody...)

tu las ibas a cantar. (you would sing them too.)

Cantarás, cantarás, (You will sing, you will sing,

Porque tu sabes bien... (Because you know pretty well,)
sos aquél... (you're that guy)
que se sienta y ve esta vida pasar. (who sits down and watches life go by.)
Y te ahogas de ilusiones, (And you're drowning in illusions,)
ignorando las canciones. (ignoring songs.)

Cantarás, si señor, (You will sing, yes sir,
este mundo es cruel y olvida el amor. (this world is cruel and forgets about love.)
¿Y por qué? No lo sé... (Why? I don't know...)
pero, para todo siempre hay un final. (but, for everything there is always an ending.)
Tú tan sólo tienes que perseverar. (You just need to hold on.)

Este mundo se ha olvidado de cantar, (This world has forgotten how to sing,)
es verdad. (that is true.)
Mas, mientras gire este planeta, (But, if this planet keeps on spinning,)
muy desde tus adentros, cantarás. (very deep inside you, you will sing.)(/align]

[align=center]En un mundo que se olvida de las melodías, (In a world that forgets about melodies,)
donde abunda la mentira y la astuta tiranía, (where the tyranny and lies are abundant,)
que intenta tropezar a quien (that tries to take down that one...)
tenga felicidad (that's happy)
las canciones que escribimos, nos servirán de guías. (the songs that we write, will lead us.)

Cantarás, si señor, (You will sing, yes sir,)
hasta el día en que ya todo se acabó, (until the day that everything is gone,)
para tí, para mí, (for you, for me,)

En un mar de decepciones y maldad. (In a world of deceptions and evil.)

Este mundo se ha olvidado de cantar, es verdad. (This world has forgotten how to sing, that is true.)
Con tus fuertes emociones, (With your strong emotions,)
con tus odios y amores, cantarás. (with your loving and hating, you will sing.)

Para todo una canción allí estará. (For everything, there will always be a song.)

Wia Rosmala - "Meet You in Autumn"
the tune: Tasya Rosmala - "Egois"

The morning sun shines brightly
Shining on me at all times
The world is so beautiful
But I feel lonely without purpose

Dried leaves falling in the wind
Birds chirp in the spruce of pine trees
White clouds around our sun
Like a perfect symphony in air

Meet you in autumn, my friend.... but you can't see me,
my friend
I always hopes to you, you will forget all our love in past...
huooo..oo.ooo
Meet you in autumn, however..... I can't be your best love, It's so hard
I walk back to leave you, with a white umbrella blowing in the wind

00. BRITONISEA

KAYLEY - "Junteräpten

Margaret - In My Cabana (Official Audio)

Image
KAYLEY: KAYLEY says that she is ready "to slay" in Darkmania!

After coming 1st place at the 37th World Hit Festival, the nation of Britonisea was given the right to host the 38th World Hit Festival. For the first time ever, a large song contest was held in Britonisea's capital, Doportedas. The band, The Retribution, represented Britonisea, and despite the criticism, it came second - only to Darkmania, who won and is now hosting the contest. BVC is hoping to keep up the recent success with Vha Mehlodhivestoile's runner up, KAYLEY.

Brityunik Vefecosoin Cairkovoin recorded a whopping audience of 13.74 million during the World Hit Festival Grand Final, with a peak of 15.02 million watching Darkmania take the win from Britonisea, being crowned as the new winners of World Hit Festival. Hopes are very high for this edition, though, which could see the contest return to Britonisea as the nation sends Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2018 runner-up, KAYLEY to the contest after she missed out on first place by only one point - the closest ever loss at Vha Mehlodhivestoile. This will be the third time that a World Hit Festival representative would have been chosen coming 2nd in the format of Vha Mehlodhivestoile. The last time that Britonisea sent a runner up of Vha Mehlodhivestoile, it was Etela Tomac and she represented Britonisea during the 34th World Hit Festival, coming 2nd place.

The song, "Junteräpten" is going to be sung in Britonish, which is seen as more trendy after the recent success of the language being sung, and also the fact that songs with Britonish in it does not necessarily mean that it is not accessible. KAYLEY's song speaks about meeting someone who is not as out-going as she is, but she sees that wild side within them. The song is set in one of the major cities, Junterapten, which hosted the 35th World Hit Festival. Throughout the song, KAYLEY speaks about the "Luz Junteräpten" (The Junterapten Lights) which refers to the Junterapten High Street, the longest road in Junterapten, which stretches from the South beaches of the city to the North of the city. This strip has large LED boards lining the whole of the street, and many colourful sights, being home to many theatres, large - flag ship - stores and other very eye=opening events happening on the strip.

When Britonisea's KAYLEY revealed herself to the public, this is the words she had for them...
Hello, it's your friend KAYLEY and I am performing third in Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2018's Second Semi Final. So, last year I didn't do too well, but I am back with my very upbeat, semi tropical song, "Junteräpten". My song, "Junteräpten" is in Britonish, which I think is a must in Vha Mehlodhivestoile, we need to have songs in Britonish! Nevertheless, it is about having fun a long the Junteräpten strip, with all of the lights from the large screens plastered along the strip. I think that this song will do greatly in Vha Mehlodhivestoile, and I really hope it does do well. I have a great list of people behind my song, including Sisi Surrey, who did well in her Semi Final last year, I've got myself a Mello Cinde, who came 2nd during WorldVision 57, and so I am have success behind me, and I hope that finally it is my time to be successful!

During Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2018, KAYLEY won the jury vote [last year, Dean Boyst won the jury vote], receiving top points from Togonistan and Izmedu, with Todlichebujoku, Platerdam, Polkopia and host, Darkmania all ranking it very highly. This propelled her to the top of the leaderboard. While KAYLEY could not fend off Britonisea's love for Taron Woods, KAYLEY still had masses of support. She will be hoping that the support she received will be replicated in Örkemdren, Darkmania.

On arrival to Darkmania, KAYLEY found out that she will be performing in the second half of the competition. KAYLEY said that she was excited, and she is ready "to slay" at the World Hit Festival. BVC are hoping to do very well at this contest.

READING PHONETICALLY
The lyrics below only shows the first 13 lines in Britonish because the rest of the song is in English.

NOTES: [x] represents "the voiceless velar fricative", similar to the "J" in "jambon" in Spanish. In Britonish, the "J" is pronounced as [x] if followed by the letter "e" and "u". There might be exceptions on names or English-bought words.

The "ä" in Britonish is "the open front unrounded vowel", similar to the long "A" in "stark" or "nah" in English.

In a shocking move this edition, Darkmania has taken away the LED wall at the back, only leaving us with lights. It's not that much of a problem for the Britonish delegation, but there was talks of doing things with the LED wall to make the performance difference from how it was in the national final. However, the Britonish didn't ponder too much on this issue. Joining her on the stage will be two female, and two male dancers. As the postcard was playing, all of Britonisea's dancers and singers got on stage, ready for the performance...

The song started with the applause of the audience. The five who were on stage all stood together, with KAYLEY being at the forefront. A camera slowly zoomed in as KAYLEY fluffed up her before she was about to sing;

Fyloatè hue par vhis par maus, tandemme!
Hacer loqté ontre ma brats, zy raide.
Desiro hoyer chouse, vhe noghv enduie, oh!
Visé percratitieux….

She started walking towards the end of the stage, with all of dancers dispersing from behind her. A steadicam came on the stage, right up to KAYLEY. She started to sing in to this camera, as it followed her wherever she went. As the chorus came up, she walked out to the front of the stage and swung her arms right in to the air. A camera caught her hand from her hand, it slowly shifted down her hand and down to her waist. One of the male dancers (Joshua Bridge) came up right behind her. The camera quickly cut as the chorus came up...

Zy enocteh my duratnie?
Subtue vhe luz Junteräpten - oh na na
Reminite aveçieme eis
Enocteh sheepte et - Luz Junteräpten

Zy enocteh my duratnie - enocteh!
Subtue vhe luz Junteräpten - oh na na
Reminite aveçieme eis - on Junteräpten
Enocteh sheepte et - Junteräpten!

The camera slowly zoomed out on KAYLEY and the dancer Joshua Bridge, as they danced smoothly together (she was in front of him). The lights that mounted the background of the stage switched from hues of yellow to orange every four beats. The other dancers had run off the stage at this point, leaving only KAYLEY and Joshua on the stage together to dance.

During the second part of that chorus, KAYLEY twisted her body along to the music, slowly moving downwards towards the floor as she sang every line. During the short instrumental between the chorus and the verse, the camera quickly faded to black at every beat of the bass in the back, creating a jittery look to the performance. By the time the cameras returned to normal, KAYLEY was on the other side of the stage. One of friends bought her a glass of wine, which the other friend put on a pair of glasses on KAYLEY's face.

Merindo, in pluste, par teuten…ficer!
Zerox heur woalté eis desir-eux vis!
Oe sada ma heur tes conmre opet, o’m readu,
Na jelodei teis fre.

Rodesio teuten, u-ies
Oe rodeste eis freisen in plu-uste

During the verse that had just gone, the girls walked over to the middle of the stage with their wine glasses in hand, looking on fleek. The looked as though they were making jokes amongst each other while walking to the middle of the stage.

The lights in the arena faded in to purple and blood orange (very dim lights) as the three girls had spotlights on them. With KAYLEY slightly forward on the rest of them, the very powerful fans turned on at the front, which blew the hairs of the three ladies. At each two beats, the dancers went from one pose to another, along with the flicker of lights directed towards them as though they were being attacked by the paparazzi.

Zy enocteh my duratnie?
Subtue vhe luz Junteräpten - oh na na
Reminite aveçieme eis
Enocteh sheepte et - Luz Junteräpten

Zy enocteh my duratnie - enocteh!
Subtue vhe luz Junteräpten - oh na na
Reminite aveçieme eis - on Junteräpten
Enocteh sheepte et - Junteräpten!

All of the rest of the lights around the arena had turned of (except the spotlight) but one was coming brightly from the back of the arena. The two male dancers, Joshua and Lance, slowly walked seductively towards the front of the stage from the far back of it. The camera caught this moment from being slowly angled above KAYLEY and her backing dancers. As the lights came from behind the men walking towards KAYLEY and the girls, you could only see their broad silhouettes; with them coolly walking forwards, pulling up their sleeves etc. Also assisting them was a haze which came from the back of the stage too.

Vhe luz Junteräpten; zy braide.
Oh, knowledgro ficais ov eyk iao
Ovs parfait, ovs parfait, ov os.
Ovs parfait par teis oe eis

Oh-oh-oh-oh! Brito ma heur aveç- (-ieme eis)
Reminite aveçieme (eis)
Rodesio teuten, oh teuten
Hoyeux phoren ahgehar

The men arrived at the front of the stage with KAYLEY and the girls, but this time they were just frozen in the place. The two girls that KAYLEY were dancing with slowly moved over to the side, out of shot of the camera. KAYLEY looked in to it as it slowly moved forwards.

As this bit came up, she whispered...with Joshua slowly creeping up behinds KAYLEY. By the time KAYLEY finished whispering in this part, Joshua had met her by the hips, with KAYLEY slowly turning her back from the audience.

Zy enocteh my duratnie
Sub v’estoiles Junteräpten - oh na na
Reminite aveçieme eis
Per, teiston euten - Luz Junteräpten

As her back was turned, the two slowly swayed left to right before the chorus which involved a quick zooming out of the camera. The stage returned to it's previous colour of orange and yellow, as the party atmosphere that was left came back. KAYLEY turned around as the other dancers quickly ran back on the stage.

Zy enocteh my duratnie- enocteh!
Subtue vhe luz Junteräpten - oh na na na
Reminite aveçieme eis - on Junteräpten
Per, teiston euten - Junteräpten!

Zy enocteh my duratnie (ma joahae)
Subtue vhe luz Junteräpten (oh na na na)
Reminite aveçieme eis (aveçieme eis)
Enocteh sheepte et, teiston euten
Junteräpten!

At the end of the song, KAYLEY did the splits as the camera quickly zoomed out on her. There was a huge bang of indoor fireworks as the song finished. The audience cheered for the girl, "Thank you very much, Darkmania! Thank you very much, World Hit Festival." The dancers then picked KAYLEY up, and lifted her off the stage. It was now time for the next proceedings to happen on the stage.

ENGLISH LYRICS
These are the official English lyrics. Themes and Ideas have been kept, but there may be a few grammatical differences to make the song make sense in the English language.

I have been waiting for this for months, finally.
To have you locked inside my arms, so tight.
I want to hold you until the night ends, oh
No more procrastinating.

So tonight we dance?
Under the Junteräpten stars?
Stay here with me...
Besides, you are mine tonight - Junteräpten lights

Just let us dance - tonight!
Beneath the Junterapten lights - oh na na
Stay with me - in Junterapten.
Besides, you are mine - Junterapten!

I crave a lot for your…love!
Last time you got me want-ing more!
And now my time has come again, I’m ready,
I will not make you move [away]

I need you, yes…
And you need me a lot…

So tonight we dance?
Under the Junteräpten stars?
Stay here with me...
Besides, you are mine tonight - Junteräpten lights

Just let us dance - tonight!
Beneath the Junterapten lights - oh na na
Stay with me - in Junterapten.
Besides, you are mine - Junterapten!

The Junterapten lights; so bright.
I know you would love it like I do.
It’s perfect, it’s perfect, it is.
It’s perfect for you and I.

I wanna spend my time with you,
Remain here with (me)
I want you, oh you.
Holding hands together…

So let us dance
Beneath the Junterapten lights - oh na na na
Stay with me (with me)
Tonight you follow me, you are mine.
Junterapten!

So let us dance tonight!
Beneath the Junterapten lights - oh na na na
Stay with me (with me)
Tonight you follow me, you are mine.
Junterapten!

So let us dance (my baby)
Beneath the Junterapten lights - oh na na na
Stay with me (with me)
Tonight you follow me, you are mine.
Junterapten!

Ánmol Pokhrel - "Ketá ra Ketí (Boys and Girls)

With each passing edition of the World Hit Festival, the WHF committee of CháReTe had to contend with the growing pressure of maintaining Chameliya's impeccable, albeit intermittent, record - especially considering the nation's next entry would be its first for nine editions. Returning once again to the challenge of selecting a representative for the country, CháReTe had to negotiate a famliar dilemma of Chameliya's participation in the competition - strike out for success with internationally favoured genres or present a more authentic Chameliyali sound at the risk of falling foul of its lack of familiarity across the multiverse. However, to mark Chameliya's return to WHF it was felt that traditional Chameliyali music must be represented in some capacity. The solution was a compromise. Former model and Chameliyali pop sensation, Ánmol Pokhrel's latest album, Putalí Mahilá (Butterfly Woman) had taken the charts by storm and recently won the Budhagraha Awards for its blend of infectious melodies which incorporated traditional Chameliyali instrumentation. To the shock and surprise of many though, CháReTe selected the album's most controversial track, Ketá ra Ketí (Boys and Girls) - a protest against high levels of youth unemployment during the recent and ongoing period of economic difficulty - as the Chameliyali entry.
The twanging tones of a plucked fiddle reverberate around the darkened auditorium. An aerial shot of the arena captures the cavernous space slowly zooming into the small satellite stage which is floodlit by a stark white spotlight. The camera cuts to the satellite stage where an ensemble of musicians, dressed in plain daurá surúwáls begin to play their traditional Chameliyali string and percussion instruments. Behind them, the backdrop lights pulsate in time to the pounding drums. The camera lingers on the ensemble before cutting to a shot of four dancers positioned on the runway dressed in dazzling red and gold and barefoot with intricate golden bangles. They twirl gracefully, mesmirising with the poised hand movements typical of Chameliyali dancing. Finally, the camera pans to the main stage where an unlit figure stands behind a microphone stand. Suddenly a spotlight illuminates the figure, revealing it to be Ánmol Pokhrel dressed in an elaborate red and silver daurá surúwál and topí (hat) just in time for the first verse. He looks intently into the camera as he begins to sing.

Days on the dole, what the hell are we still doing?
City shut down, chakra bands will be our ruin
strikes

Heat and no light, sticks and stones and no solutions.
Thulo mánchhe hoina ke garnu sakchhau?
We're not important, what can we do?

The camera, still centred on Ánmol at the mic, begins to zoom out. Behind him, the four dancers can be seen as they arrive on the main stage and position themselves in formation; (with Ánmol) the five corners of a pentagon.

No use for the day, so we’ll reclaim the night
Won’t stay out of mind, won’t stay out of sight
Timro pyáro bachchá kukur jasto dukhchhas
Your dear children are suffering like strays

We’re taking the world so you better hear us

As the song reaches its first chorus, all the arenas lights brighten, pivoting and circling creating a dazzling effect. Ánmol clasps the mic with one hand and raises his other in a power fist whilst behind him, the dancers move forcefully in a contemporary dance sequence heavily reminiscent of that performed at Chameliyali festivals. The camera cuts between shots of Ánmol's powerful pose, the vigourous dancers and footage of members of the audience moving and flying flags in time to the beat.

E ketá ra ketí
Oh boys and girls

Better hold on when we break free
Though they never believed
We’re rising, we take the streets
E ketá ra ketí
Oh boys and girls

Take what we’re owed, our dignity
Open your lungs to breathe
It’s ours now, we’re feeling free

As the chorus finishes, the lights stop moving and lower in intensity. The camera cuts to a quick shot of the musicians once more before returning to Ánmol on the main stage. He removes the micophone from the stand and walks to the perimeter of the stage to sing directly to the audience, occasionally reaching down to hold the outstretched arms of the adoring fans.

But don’t give up, we’re our own new founding fathers
Generation of true dreamers, builders, martyrs
Can’t contain the aspirations we still harbour
Thulo mánchhe ho hámí sabai sakchhau
We are important, we can do anything

Ánmol straightens up and begins to step backwards, singing into the camera which follows him. Behind him, the mic stand has been removed and the dancers are stood in a line holding combative dance poses.

No use for the day, so we’ll reclaim the night
Won’t stay out of mind, won’t stay out of sight
Timro pyáro bachchá kukur jasto dukhchhas
Your dear children are suffering like strays

We’re taking the world so you better hear us

Once again, the lights intensify and swirl about. On the stage, Ánmol takes his place in the middle of the line of dancers as they as they commence a more obviously contemporary dance routine, albeit Ánmol's dance being less zealous on account of him holding the microphone. The camera pans along the line of Ánmol and the dancers, absorbing up their rhythmic motions.

E ketá ra ketí
Oh boys and girls

Better hold on when we break free
Though they never believed
We’re rising, we take the streets
E ketá ra ketí
Oh boys and girls

Take what we’re owed, our dignity
Open your lungs to breathe
It’s ours now, we’re feeling free

The dancers begin to move apart, positioning themselves in their own spaces across the stage. The lights flicker as the instruments suddenly stop with just the drumbeat echoing around the auditorium. From the back of the stage, three male dancers dressed in silky silver daurá surúwáls step forward to join Ánmol, after which the four men each move out to join a female partner. Each of the four couples begin to dance in time to each other - spinning and moving around each other; the men occasionally lifting their partners off the ground and swinging them around. The lights flicker with increasing speed and intensity whilst the background lights fade up into a dazzling white backdrop. As the song nears its climax the couples seperate and all the dancers enter a star formation at the centre of the main stage whilst Ánmol walks back to the stage perimeter to belt out his last refrain to the audience. He sways in time to the music with a confident swagger and as he enters the final chorus the lights begin to strobe.

E ketá ra ketí
Oh boys and girls

Better hold on when we break free
Though they never believed
We’re rising, we take the streets
E ketá ra ketí
Oh boys and girls

Take what we’re owed, our dignity
Open your lungs to breathe
It’s ours now, we’re feeling free
E ketá ra ketí
Oh boys and girls

We're reaching for infinity
Open your lungs to breathe
It’s ours now, we’re feeling free

Ánmol lifts his topí of his head and hurls it into the crowd which roars in approval. He steps backwards into the formation of dancers and joins them for the final routine. The arena's light are strobing at maximum intensity - an assault on the live and television audiences' sense. As the music cuts out, the lights are extinguished except for a few spotlights focussed on Ánmol and the dancers. They turn away from the audience and begin to walk gently to the back of the stage. As the final notes play, the camera focussing on them fades out of focus so all that can be seen are the fuzzy outlines of their twinkling, shining outfits as they step into darkness. Finally, as the music comes to an end, even the spotlights are extinguished. The arena is bathed in darkness. Ánmol's voice can be heard speaking through the microphone, 'Thank you, Darkmania. This is for Chameliya'.

Georgie Green- "Sand

Troye Sivan - Bloom

Image

Georgie Green was born and raised in the capital of Besen, and learnt how to play guitar very young; he was preparing for a music career from 10 years old. When BSS sent producers to look for local talent to send to the World Hit Festival in Darkmania. He was chosen thanks to his unique artistry and his exquisite talent for songwriting. The song, "Sand" is about falling so deep in love that you lose everything you knew about yourself before, and become blind to life. Tonight, he sings his song for the first time ever. Here is what he will be wearing.

Swallowed by a translucent white silhouette, Georgie is seen standing, holding the silver microphone. What looks like a box is to his right, hidden by the shadowy background. An orange light gleams down on the stage, and the camera remains central to the scene. The music, just beginning after the postcard, invites Georgie's first movements from behind the silk. His stance seems nervous, but he is everything but that. A close up shot, just about revealing Georgie's features, produces a light grin.
Underneath the roofs and windows
Smiling in the hallway
Courage and commitment
That's what you said you wanted
So you know, babe, I just wanna heal with you, baby.

Cheers are heard, when the silhouette drops. His jacket, and jeans are both black, contrast with the lighter palette of the stage. The box that was hidden is shown to be a portable light show. Lyrics from the song appear on the screen, in a tidy, navy blue font. "Circus, fountain, noose, affairs, heal".
I mean, maybe it's a circus
A fountain of truth, yeah
I wanna be under your noose yeah
An item of your affairs
So you know baby, I'm just tryna heal with you, darling

The lights fade to fit the themes, a darker mixture of brown and dark blue. The only thing truly illuminating the stage is the box behind him. The cameraman does a wide pan of the arena and then back into position at the front of the stage- then followed by a close up of just Georgie and the light-box. Lasers cut through the middle- light green and pink; they spread to the whole arena. About to go into the chorus, he runs behind his box, seemingly climbing stairs placed behind of it, appearing atop the box again. He stands firm and strong.
I can't stand the...
Loud talk in whispers
Breathing in the...
Dark alleys of my heart, now
Grazes on my...
Wounded soul, I'm so scared now
Sand in my eyes, got sand in my eyes

Going with the beat of the chorus, the lights flicker and the box pulsates, showing "I SINK". Shots of the audience are cut to- but are shortly panned back to Georgie. The crowd jumps along, clapping and cheering, bringing happiness to his face. He reaches out his other hand in a gesture to make the audience join in even more. The guitar strums that occur are assumed to come from a woman holding one, in the back- revealed by the cameras finally.
And I sink, I sink- under you
I sink, trusting you
I sink, I sink- under you
I sink, bleeding through
So give me every single second
Holding me for ransom
I gotta let this burn
And I sink, I sink- under you
I sink, trusting you

"December" is the main word that appears now, along with some fake snow that floats down, making the crowd cheer. The colour palettes on show are a very light white, a warm blue and a festive red. The lights on the box make up an image of two people dancing next to a snow-covered tree. But, this doesn't last for long as an animated broken heart appears.
Now it's the season of December, we got cold hearts
You wanted me to kick start it now- our whole life
Young love don't stay true, babe, I just can't stop missing you, baby.

This time the camera does not pan or widen but follows Georgie as he gets down from the box, and walks down near the front, reaching out to touch the audiences' hands. He then focuses on the camera- singing directly to it.
I can't stand the...
Loud talk in whispers
Breathing in the...
Dark alleys of my heart, now
Grazes on my...
Wounded soul, I'm so scared now
Sand in my eyes, got sand in my eyes

Darker pinks absorb the space, and the light box flashes lyrics again. The same guitarist shot is shown at the relevant point. A soft wind blows against his hair, making it swirl and move out of place. He lets this happen.
And I sink, I sink- under you
I sink, trusting you
I sink, I sink- under you
I sink, bleeding through
So give me every single second
Holding me for ransom
I gotta let this burn
And I sink, I sink- under you
I sink, trusting you

Smoky clouds emerge from the sides, smothering the floor with mist. Georgie lies down in this, as the camera follows his journey, ending with a shot of him on the floor. The back lights flash an eery shade of green. And in the arena, the light-box can be seen repeating the words sang.
I. Sink. Under. You
I. Sink. Under. You
Grateful, grateful
All of the things you do
Grateful, grateful
All of the things you do

The last chorus leaves the stage suffocated in mist, with the light pinks and festive colours of the second verse re-emerging. And then, in the last seconds- a paper white dove floats atop the box. Cheers erupt.
And I sink, I sink- under you
I sink, trusting you
I sink, I sink- under you
I sink, bleeding through
So give me every single second
Holding me for ransom
I gotta let this burn
And I sink, I sink- under you
I sink, trusting you
And I sink, I sink- under you
I sink, trusting you
I sink, I sink- under you
I sink, bleeding through
So give me every single second
Holding me for ransom
I gotta let this burn
And I sink, I sink- under you
I sink, trusting you

"Thank you, so, so much Darkmania! Tusen takk!" Georgie smiles uncontrollably as he exits the stage.

Radja Suningtyas - "Kambing

Radja Suningtyas is a rising Fromulyan celebrity. To make his name more known, he decided to partner with TVRF to send a song to the World Hit Festival. TVRF prepared a song for him, and it was written to promote the nation's agrarian efforts.

For the performance, Radja is wearing a specially designed outfit based on the traditional textile designs worn by royalty. He will stand in the middle of the stage barefoot, and towards the end of the song he will be supported by backing singers who are hidden from sight.

Lihatlah binatangku
Dia besar sekali
Dia sangat berguna bagiku

Apa kau menyukainya
Dengan semua bulunya?
Mungkin kau hanya merasa geli

Tapi kau harus akui
Dia sangatlah berguna
Bagi masyarakat dan bangsa

Kambing, kambing
Kau buat susu yang sangat enak
Kambing, kambing
Kau sangat enak bila dimakan
Kambing

Binatangku sangat kuat
Dia bisa mengangkatmu
Dan membawamu kemana saja

Maukah kau menaikinya?
Atau hanya menikmati
Air susu yang dihasilkannya?

As the song escalates, Radja's voice becomes more powerful in the next part.
Kambing, kambing
Kau buat susu yang sangat enak
Kambing, kambing
Kau sangat enak bila dimakan

He now projects his powerful voice emotionally into the remaining lines of the song.
KAMBIIIING (Membuat susu, membuat susu)
KAMBIIIING (Kau bisa makan dagingnya)

KAMBIIIING (Membuat susu, membuat susu)
(Kau bisa makan dagingnya)

KAMBIIIING (Membuat susu, membuat susu)
(Kau bisa makan dagingnya)

KAMBIIIING (Membuat susu, membuat susu)
(Kau bisa makan dagingnya)

The song ends and the crowd cheers. "Terima kasih, thank you!" Radja shouts before leaving the stage for the next entrant.
Look at my animal
It’s very big
It’s very useful for me

Do you like it
With all its hair?
Maybe you only feel ticklish

But you must admit
It’s very useful
For society and the nation

Goat, goat
You make really good milk
Goat, goat
You’re very tasty when eaten
Goat

My animal is very strong
It can lift you up
And take you anywhere you want

Do you want to ride it?
Or would you rather just enjoy
The milk it produces?

Goat, goat
You make really good milk
Goat, goat
You’re very tasty when eaten

Goat! (Produces milk, produces milk)
Goat! (You can eat the meat)

Goat! (Produces milk, produces milk)
(You can eat the meat)

Goat! (Produces milk, produces milk)
(You can eat the meat)

Goat! (Produces milk, produces milk)
(You can eat the meat)

Novislav Djudzich -Sun Dances

Novislav Djudzich was born in a small village of Ghirit near the Capital Zun.He won the WHF 39 qualifiers with ease being the only special singer in the qualifiers. That's how we'll look in Darkmania!!!

Novislav Walks into the stage and starts dancing to the sun which turns round by the clock. After the dance he starts singing.

My dearest,
Will you ever forget me,
The sun is raising under your knees,

We have a sun under the mountains,
Trust me,you will be a beauty (x2)

Then the beat drops and the fire effects come to the place followed by smoke.

Oh,Sun Dances,
You will be forever,
By the sunlight you won't be gone,

God bless our mighty sun,
And the heroes of our mountains (x2)

The same lyrics and effects repeat until the end of the song.

Novislav walks out blessing the sun.

Ita Vavea & Jason Tarudo Band - "Pulse

Jason Tarudo is a 35-year old dentist and part-time hobby musician born in Cleaca. Tarudo's band, despite having been active in the underground scene for the past five years, gained their first international recognition after representing Cleaca in the 61st WorldVision Song Contest in Hwoarang. CBC approached Tarudo again when looking for Cleacan representative for the 39th World Hit Festival.

Teaming up with Tarudo's band for WHF 39 is Ita Vavea, a 42-year old native Cleacan vocalist yet to make a name on the big scene. Vavea participated in the 2nd season of The Voice: Togonistan, although her journey there ended rather quickly with getting eliminated right after the 2nd round.

Their song ''Pulse'' is composed and written by Jason Tarudo. ''We want to give a message to all the native Cleacans, but also to all the Togonis, Balkvlains and any other small nation, to not give up who you are. The times are changing, we are seeing an inflow of western culture, but with all this, we must not forget about our roots.'' Tarudo said during an interview given to Lucky 7, a Togonistani media channel.

Performance:

Stage is dark. As the music starts playing, some smoke starts appearing on the stage. Ita Vavea is sitting on top of a small pedestal. She is wearing a tribal outfit decorated with feathers. Ita is clapping her hands above her head to the rhythm of the music as the camera slowly zooms up on her. Behind her, there is Jason Tarudo and another male drummer, both of them being topless and having matching haircut. There is also a matching tribal tattoo set covering both of their upper body. The drummers have large-scale tribal drums placed in front of them and they are holding a pair of flaming drumsticks above their heads.

Eventually, two drummers behind Ita start beating their instruments and Ita starts singing.

All the islanders step up
To those who try to corrupt
All the islanders step up
To those who try to corrupt
All the islanders step up
To those who try to corrupt

Just wait when we come for you

More smoke starts appearing on the stage, eventually covering the stage floor. Ita stops clapping her hands and looks into the camera.

They come and try to change us
They come and throw some insults
Trying to change our point of view
And that's what raises my pulse

They calling themselves our chiefs
Not agreeing with our beliefs
Trying to change our point of view
And that's what raises my pulse

Raise my pulse

Camera zooms out and starts rotating around Ita, who is sitting on her pedestal. She is following the camera with her head, while shouting out her lyrics and doing some fist-pumping hand gestures at the same time. She also expresses some strong facial expressions.

Just wait when we come for you
With our boiling tribal blood
Just wait when we come for you
Our minds ain't to be becloud
Just wait when we come for you
Our minds ain't to be becloud
Just wait when we come for you
With our boiling tribal blood

Camera zooms out on Ita, who is getting up on her pedestal and puts her hands wide open.

All the islanders step up
To those who try to corrupt
Just wait when we come for you
With our boiling tribal blood

Stage pyrotechnics start doing their job and flames can be seen bursting out around the stage. Ita his standing on top of her podium and expressing some rebel-ish hand gestures (somewhat like Latvia 2017). There is also a wind machine making her hair wave a little while doing it. Drummers behind her back are still beating their instruments, only much more furiously this time.

Eventually, all the fireshow calms down and stage returns to it's previous stage of darkness with some smoke covering the floor. Ita steps down from her podium and starts walking around on the stage. Different cameras angles are following her path and Ita is looking into them every once in a while.

They come and try to change us
They come and throw some insults
Trying to change our point of view
And that's what raises my pulse

They calling themselves our chiefs
Not agreeing with our beliefs
Trying to change our point of view
And that's what raises my pulse

Ita makes her way to the middle of the stage and stops there, turning herself to face the audience.

Feel our boiling tribal blood

Fire machines start working again, lighting the stage up. Ita is standing in the middle of the firestorm, furiously waving her fists in the air as she is shouting out her lyrics.

They come and try to change us
They come and throw some insults
Trying to change our point of view
And that's what raises my pulse

They calling themselves our chiefs
Not agreeing with our beliefs
Trying to change our point of view
And that's what raises my pulse

Fireworks stop and the stage goes into full darkness as the music slowly fades out. Crowd on the Örkendrem National Football Arena starts cheering. Lights go on again and Ita is standing along her two drummer guys. ''Thank you Örkendrem! We love you!'' they shout before leaving the stage.

Nour Aisha- "Li-anni Laa Uħibuhu

Skanden's participation in the World Hit Festival depends purely on whether any of union's many regional broadcasters are interested in participating. Typically it has been the French, Italian, or main Swedish-speaking branch of Skandens Television that bother to submit an entry. While interest has generally been low, the regional branch of SKT from the Arabic-speaking region of Skanden has voiced their interest in sending a delegation to the World Hit Festival.

Thus, they have selected Nour Aisha to sing "Li-anni Laa Uħibuhu", a song written by 2 senior songwriters from the Slavic-speaking regions of Skanden. There is suspicion that the composers have decided to use an unreleased work written in the 80s, but preparations for the Festival have continued undisturbed.

For the live performance, Nour will stand onstage to sing what she has described in interviews as a melancholic tune, and let the stage lighting and camera angles do the work to convey the emotions that she sings.
The transliteration for this song uses the official Skandish romanization system for Arabic.

In the short instrumental break, Nour spread her arms while the camera panned upon both the stage and the audience.

The song then ended and was met with a polite cheer from the audience. Nour smiled and said "Tack, šukrån!" and left the stage for the next entry to be prepared.

Man huwa? Man huwa?

Because I don’t love him
Because I don’t love him

Who is he? Who is he?
This man, he is strange

What is his name? What is his name?

He came to me
Then he asked for marriage

But I told him
But I told him

Because I don’t love him
Because I don’t love him

Who is he? Who is he?
He stands in front of my house

What does he want? What does he want?
Why does he stand here?

He came to me
Then he asked for marriage

But I told him
But I told him

Because I don’t love him

Sector7 - "Stand Up

Image

Sector Seven (or Sector7) is a boygroup originated from Tokyo, Ascion. Sector Seven was granted the right by the government of Ascion to represent their motivational song called "stand up" in WHF.

Performance
Lights on the arena are set off. Then, a smoke come and covers the entire stage, while a silhouette of a tall, muscular man coming from the back, as the light shines slowly and spotted him on the center of the stage, standing with his head looking downwards. The camera zoomed on him closely.

An intro song plays, then he danced alone with the camera zoomed out--then zoomed in again. Then the other members started to appear by following his dance move. The lights are starting to flash by the rhythym. Colourful lights started to flash on and off as the intro is going to an end.

The intro ended, the lights are shut off and all the members fall. Then a voice saying "Sector Seven" is heard. The song plays, and the lights started to flash on and off slowly.

Stand up, let’s rock
Stand up, let’s rock

Two of the members, Jion and Victor start to rise while singing. They lookd at each other then looked at the audience. Then all the members rise, and stand on their own position. The lights then followed the rhythm.

Let’s stand up and conquer the world
In front of them

I’ll say the truth
And let them embrace

The two and the other members gone to the back and danced, later switched their position. BM came to the front.
Catch catch the light
I’ll bring it you
You, who’ve eaten by the darkness
Trust me and follow me
Let me show you the way

All the members headed down then roll, then slowly rise, while Kira singing alone on the left front of the stage.

In the dark ages,
I didn’t feel good , being absorbed by this fantasy

All of them move so close to each other then pull Zico from the back to the front.

Yes, that’s right
A bright spotlight
Shined on me
Then I flew high
To the vast sky

Zico moved to the left and Victor start singing in the center of the formation.
Just let go,
Trust me and follow me
Throw your body (bang)
The horizon has no boundary
I fly like a shooting star
My body shivers even more
Out of control

All the members move to their own position and started to dance together.

Throw it all out and stand up
(Burn your passion, listen to your heart)
Stand up (everyone throw yourselves without fear)
Increase the speed, trust your heart
Stand up (rule the world, we gonna rock)
Stand up( (throw your body, let’s conquer the world)
Like this, like this, I’m going deep into your mind
(Stand up, let’s rock)

BM moved the the front and do a frontflip, then raps his own part, with Zico. While the others pose on their own.

Yeah throw away the walking
Go with me
Quickly run, come with me

(You know, you know,
You know, you know
)
(We can stand up, or we will fall)

All the members stop their pose and start to come closer again, then follow Zico's hand movements.
Aight, zico, begin
Dive, into a new world
That shine into my eyes
Ti-ti-time is tickin’
(We can skydive free fall)
The darkness comes closer and closer
The beat comes shiver my entire body
It comes but I’ll win over it
I’m in control

All the members move to their own position and started to dance together.

Throw it all out and stand up
(Burn your passion, listen to your heart)
Stand up (everyone throw yourselves without fear)
Increase the speed, trust your heart
Stand up (rule the world, we gonna rock)
Stand up( (throw your body, let’s conquer the world)
Like this, like this, I’m going deep into your mind
(Stand up, let’s rock)

All the members fall and Victor singing alone in the center. Later, BM rises and do the adlib with him.

Oh, I think it was enough
We will win or we will lose

(Falling down, to the ground)
I’ll steal the win in this game
I’m the champ

The members start to rise, then sing together.
[ALL] Stand up, let’s rock
Come with me!
5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Go!

A confetti popped and a flame burst in front of the stage, giving it the climax of the song. The members jumped together and dance again.

Throw your shame out and stand up
(Burn your passion, listen to your heart)
Stand up (everyone throw yourselves without fear)
Increase the speed, trust your heart
Stand up (rule the world, we gonna rock)
Stand up( (throw your body, let’s conquer the world)
Like this, like this, I’m going deep into your mind
(Stand up, let’s rock

The other members dance on their own, while Sonho and BM move to the front.

Stand up and let’s go [ALL] rock rock rock rock rock rock
Stand up, let’s go
(Now I won’t fall again)
Stand up and let’s go

The show ended with a confetti popped once more, with the lights flashed altogether.

Levi - "Aura

Levi is a 45-year old singer from Tushlark, Togonistan. He is widely known and loved in his home nation as a singer as well as a TV host. During his career that has lasted for over 20 years, he has won multiple awards and is considered to be one of the best-selling Togonistani artists of all time.

Lucky 7 offered Levi a chance to represent the nation in WHF 39, which was an oportunity he couldn't say no to. ''During my career in the music industry, I have been on a lot of different stages in a lot of different places, however, as much as I tried, I can't recall ever visiting Darkmania. It sure is going to be a new, and hopefully lovely, experience to me,'' Levi said during a press conference given a day before the Togonistani delegation took it off to Darkmania.

The song Levi is going to perform is titled ''Aura'' and is dedicated to his wife Amy. ''One quiet evening, I made my way to the balcony with a cup of coffee in my hand, I sat down, sipped my hot drink and looked at the sunset. I started drifting in my minds when suddenly, I felt someones arms around my neck. As I turned around, I saw my beautiful wife's eyes. Nothing had changed, I still saw the same 20-year old college girl in her that I had fell in love with about 25 years ago. Well, as I was going to bed, I just couldn't sleep. It is one of these days when you feel the inspiration flowing through your body. That something I felt deep inside myself, I wanted to let it out. Write it on a piece of paper. No, better yet, make a song out of it. A song of our journey to where we have reached so far, and where we're still yet to go.''

Performance:

The song starts with Levi sitting on the edge of the stage with a microphone in his hand. He's wearing a black suit with a white shirt. Stage lighting is warm blueish with some smoke being generated by some special apparatus on the back end of the stage. Camera is slowly rotating around Levi as he puts the mic to his mouth and starts singing, smiling between the lines.

I still remember these days when we were young and we were wild
You wiped off all my problems, that very moment you smiled

I walked with you and I listened to whatever's on your mind
And when I felt a bit lost, I always had you behind

It must be aura, surrounding both me and you
All day and night, every day while I am with you

Levi gets up on his feet and stands on the stage so that the audience sees him from the side. A puff of smoke is blown to his face as he is halfway through with the verse.

I want you by my side
While we're growing old
We can share everything that's on our mind
All that shines ain't gold

Levi turns to face the audience and puts his left arm forward. He looks deep into the camera that closes up on him as he sings the lyrics.

You'd keep me wide awake, when you feel a bit off
Together we could reach the stars above
And never have enough

(And never have enough)

Levi does a quick nod with his head before doing a 90 degree turn and starting to slowly walk around on the stage. The whole stage still has that blueish atmosphere as Levi walks on the catwalk, moving towards the other stage.

(And never have enough)

Levi makes his way to the other stage and looks at the audience with a smile on his face. As he is ready to sing again, he looks deep into the camera filming him.

Through the heaven and hell
I want you to walk this path with me
Tied together like a spell
You know it has to be

Levi turns around and starts moving back to the main stage. One of the cameras on the arena always keeps following him ahead.

Aura, surrounding both me and you
All day and night, every day while I am with you

Levi makes it to the middle of the catwalk, when he stops and looks deep into the camera rotating around him. However, he never stops having at least a tiny little smile on his face.

I want you by my side
While we're growing old
We can share everything that's on our mind
All that shines ain't gold

Levi steps onto the main stage again and takes a seat right where he was at the start of the performance. Exposing his teeth tho the whole multiverse watching WHF, he sings the last few final lines of his song.

You'd keep me wide awake, when you feel a bit off
Together we could reach the stars above
And never have enough

And never have enough

Audience starts applauding as Levi looks at them with a smile on his face. ''Thank you! he says before leaving the stage.

00. MERCEDINI
CONGRUENCE - "Home
EQUINOX - Bones

Image

After a one edition absence, Mercedini returns to the World Hit Festival frey with a slight deviation on the usual songs it sends to the contest. ENM have decided to send a newly-formed group to the contest, with all five members coming from five differant nations based loosely around the song contests of WorldVision and the World Hit Festival. The group 'CONGRUENCE', named based on its aims and goals of uniting people group through the medium of music, was formed when executives drafted five performers who had all won their iterations of reality and talent shows, will perform 'Home', and tells the tale of how nations can not only be proud of their homeland, but can join together and reach out to other nations to overcome global issues. 'Home' was written by song contest aficionado Francisco Gabrinelli, who has been involved in numerous Mercedinian entries in both WV and WHF, and was assisted by the five performers in catering to their vocal abilities and harmonies to produce a performance to remember when the group heads to Orkendrem, Darkmania for the 39th edition of the World Hit Festival.

Image

  • From Togonistan, Pita Fanene: Born in Tifk, Togonistan. Pita rose to fame after participating in the third season of The Voice: Togonistan, where he finished as a runner-up. After the show, Pita signed a contract with the local label Amstaff Records. So far, Pita has released one solo album. The 23-year old was one of the first artists to be announced by ENM, citing his vocal range and the diverse selection of songs Fanene performed when on The Voice.
  • From Izmedu Demir Loncar: Loncar won of the latest series of X Factor Izmedu. Fans have been tipping him to either participate in Izmepisma or be an internal selection for WHF, but he's mostly stayed put in Izmedu since winning his series. ENM have opted once again to include an Izmeduan in the line-up, following Eva Tutic's inclusion in SongSearch many moons ago.
  • From Mercedini, Alana Petrikov: The winner of the most recent series of The Voice of Mercedini, Petrikov rose to fame following her #1 debut single 'Flatline' which was also eligible and under consideration by ENM for to represent Mercedini at the contest. The only Mercedinian national in the group, she was the fifth and final artist to be announced, completing the group as it is today.
  • From Britonisea, Theo Docklans: Docklans won 2018's edition of The Voice RU which is a show broadcast in Britonish on Channel 6 (Sky One) in Britonisea but broadcast on RVC in Estogium and the main channel in Aloquirbe so he's well known in most nations around Britonisea. Its clear that the Brityunikosphere knows the show more about Docklans than the Anglosphere, with channel executives aiming to increase his international appeal by including Docklans in the group.
  • From Todlichebujoku, Kari Hafner: Kari Hafner was born into a rather musical family in Giftigensuuiki, where he began singing at the age of 4 and entered the choir of his local temple. He rose to fame on the show Korkea Siimá, a national singing contest, where he was set to finish second. However, the presumptive winner mysteriously vanished after having acquired a deep, pleasing tan from a vacation in the Ëndlaynvats-Arevian islands. As such, Kari won the fifth season of Korkea Siimá, launching a successful solo career in Tödlichebujoku and across the seas in Platuvaida and Sauleia. When the opportunity arose to join an international supergroup, Kari "grabbed the chance and never looked back".

The group have high hopes that they can bring home Mercedini's third victory at the contest, and with ENM openly wishing to host the contest should they win, it gives Mercedinian Hit Festival fans excitement that they might be able to see the main World Hit Festival contest come to their shores, following the appearance of the Junior World Hit Festival in Zoloroni last year.

The performance commences with the alluring start of the song, causing the crowd to cheer before the singers on stage have a change to sing their lyrics. the stage is bathed in darkness save for the five spotlight placed on the heads of the five performers spread out across the stage with one in particular on the island. Their faces aren't let illuminated as they wear a different collection of black clothing to reflect their national heritage and their personality, selected by the performers themselves. Pita from Togonistan sings the first half of the first verse as the camera is solely focused on him for the time being. The other four performers stand motionless in their part of the stage while Pita is the only person who moves, as he walks to the centre of the stage to complete his half of the verse.

Next up is Theo Docklans from Britonisea, who receives a noticeable cheer from all fans from the Brityunikosphere, as they are familiar with the performer winning the most recent version of The Voice RU. He sings into the camera angle which is zoomed in and solely focused on him, the audience is beginning to clap along to the beat of the song as Theo starts to walk from the right hand side of the stage back to the centre to stand next to Pita which completes the first verse, with only two of the five performers. in the centre.

Home is where you let go
Feel it in your heart
Maybe that’s where you go
To heal it, hear it and release it.
These walls are your best friends
Even when it’s tough
You don’t have to fight when
They see it, speak it and hear it.

Demir from Izmedu and Kari from Todlichebujoku are now the ones to take the reigns in the song, as they harmonize with each other for their part of the pre-chorus. The camera angle is switched to split-screen to the viewers at home which gives the viewers a perspective which allows them to see both performers singing at once, the black background makes it seem like they are next to each other due to the seamless transition between each angle, when in actuality they are at other ends of the stage to each other. As the pre-chorus is ending, they make their way next to the two original singers, making a four-piece in the centre.

When you’re down, when you’re sore, when it hurts.
Yeah, my lights will guide you home
Feeling down? I’ll be close, I’m your oxygen
You won’t be on your own

White beams of light appear from the stage, pointing upwards and forming a prism above the four male singers in the centre carry the first chorus. the camera flies backwards from an elevated position, taking in the scope of the arena as well as the vast audience all waving their flags in time with the music playing along. The camera then cuts to each of the faces of the performers as each note changes in the refrain. The song then bursts into life as white lights at the rear of the stage then flash a pulse giving a wave effect to the pattern in the back. The men look in front of them as the central camera track them as the first chorus comes to an end

And the lights will guide you ho-o-o-ome
Burns underneath it all
The lights will guide you home
The lights will guide you home
The lights will guide you home

Kari then returns to the forefront of the song with his vocals as the other three men provide accompaniment to the second verse. The pattern at the back of the stage changes colours to form a nebula pattern, much like in the group logo created before the contest began. The white lights then pulse three times for each of the repeated phrases in the last line of the verse, starting from the edges of the arena before working their way to the centre when the performers are standing, almost as if they are absorbing the energy from the lights and using it to their benefit.

Freedom from desire
Free from all this hurt
Walk along the wire
And see it, see it, see it

The fifth and final member of the group is revealed as the lights illuminate the face of the only Mercedinian in the group, Alana Petrikov. The elevated camera sweeps round towards the island as Alana entices the camera in, before turning her back for the second half of the pre=chorus. The camera tracks her as she makes her way along the island walking with passion and purpose with the microphone to her lips to sing her part of the song, representing her nation on the biggest stage in her career so far. Once she has made it to centre stage, she stands in the middle of the four men to form an arrow formation, which the overhead camera tracks as the five sing together for the first time in the song.

When you’re down, when you’re sore, when it hurts.
Yeah, my lights will guide you home
Feeling down? I’ll be close, I’m your oxygen
You won’t be on your own

The central camera then shows footage of the five singing in harmony with flags waving in the foreground at the bottom of the screen for those watching at home. The camera then cuts between close ups of all five performers as they give their all with their harmony of notes. Faint lights begin to strobe brighter and brighter as the song builds intensity and without the LED screen at their disposal in Orkendrem, they have more creativity when it comes to customising their performance. As the group sings the long and powerful note towards the end of the chorus, the camera sweeps back once again, taking in all of the lights, the crowd and the stage in a long shot with the performers only a spec on the screen compared to the size of the arena

And the lights will guide you home
Burns underneath it all
The lights will guide you ho-o-o-ome
Burns underneath it a-a-a-all
The lights will guide you home
The lights will guide you home
The lights will guide you home! (the lights will guide you home)

The final moments of the song come into range as the five of them all do their part to create a mesmerising performance, the song is increasing in intensity as Alana holds one long note increasing in pitch while the four male singers accompany her by singing the main lyrics of the song in their own harmonies, coming together and showcasing their message of cultures and nationalities coming together as one. The light being to flash more and more out of the darkness, illuminating the arena with the nebula beginning to twist and distort, all contributing to in intense end to the ninth performance of the night.

Wherever you go
Wherever you go
Look up, that’s when you know
The lights, the lights will guide you home

As the men are finishing their vocals, Alana becomes the sole voice on stage singing as she vocally keeps her note going, with cheers growing and growing to keep her going on before she ends her vocals to let the instrumental carry the group forward until the end of the song. Cheers are already ringing around the arena, but they grow in volume as the song officially ends, and the five performers hug each other, knowing they have given the performance of their lives at one of the bigges festivals in the multiverse. Alana take to the mic to thank the Darkmanian audience, "We are one when we come together. Thank You Darkmania, Grazije!" The five performers wave to the audience as the transition prepares for the next song of the night

00. Kalosia

Ani Sakharyan- "Volal (թռի)

The Most Serene Republic of Artsakhestan has not participated in the World Hit Festival since WHF31 in Izmedu, and even then they had been taking part inconsistently in the event since their withdrawal after WHF14. In the early days of the competition, they had been one of the most popular participating nations, and although they had never won the contest, they were trusted with hosting the inaugural Junior World Hit Festival in their capital of Stepanarvashat. Many members of the Artsakhiani public miss participating in the World Hit Festival, so one lady sought to make her way to the contest, even if not under the Artsakhiani flag.

So this song was born. It was a work contributed by both Artsakhiani and Kalosian songwriters, notably Davit' Lesmesyan who produced all of Artsakhestan's entries to WorldVision and the World Hit Festival. It was submitted to RTVK to be considered for the 33rd edition of the Festival dele Melodie Kalosiane, the longest-running national final to the World Hit Festival. While the guidelines state that songs must "be mostly in Kalosian or a language/dialect native to Kalosia", and while virtually most of the show's previous entries had been entirely in Kalosian, this song was accepted to compete. Ultimately it won, and Ani Sakharyan now had the ticket to represent this country at the 39th World Hit Festival in Örkemdrem, Darkmania.

For the festival, Ani wore an elegant, Artsakhiani-inspired dress. She was to be accompanied by two male dancers wearing all white, and 2 female backing singers, hidden away.

As the song began, Ani walked towards the mic.

Mi dakordavu di un žornu
Kadë lë sol alžavë u l’orižontë
Ma or vidu ja tia vitë
E tu senti kë staj kadendu

One of the backing dancers walks onto the stage but then the camera pans the satellite stage, where the other one is already dancing.
Ma komë lë ventu
Tuto kañera
Lë sol tornera
Al tšelu blu

That backing dancer walks towards the main stage.

Now the dancers are on both sides of Ani, and they do choreographed moves in sync.
Գնա - վազի, թռի, իմ սեր / Gna! Vazi, t’rri, im ser
Հղթաներդ ւժեղ չեն / Shght’anerd uzhegh ch’en
Volal karë, volal or

Գնա - վազի, թռի, իմ սեր / Gna! Vazi, t’rri, im ser
Հղթաներդ ւժեղ չեն / Shght’anerd uzhegh ch’en
Poši rëspirarë
Së liberë

Everyone remains where they are, but the dancers do different sets of choreography.
Or apriramu la fenestrë
E invitamu l’arë freskë
Kon kestë luž novu, pošamu
Taľarë tuto le katine

E komë lë ventu
Tuto kañera
Lë sol tornera
Al tšelu blu

The dancers continue to do different moves but this time, they follow the same rhythm, making them seem connected.

The dancers do the same moves from the previous chorus.
Գնա - վազի, թռի, իմ սեր / Gna! Vazi, t’rri, im ser

The backing singers sing the next part, and the camera follows one of the backing dancers to the satellite stage while he performs some moves. Meanwhile, what the home audience isn't seeing is the other dancer attaching a pair of folded wings to Ani's dress.
(Բաց թեւերդ, լիովին աչքերդ / Bats’ t’everd, liovin ach’k’erd)
(Թռիչքդ ե սկսվել / T’rrich’k’d e sksvel)

While the dancer returns to the main stage, the camera switches back to Ani.

The two dancers seem to pull something (like a ribbon? Shame we can't see) behind Ani's back, and then continue to do the chorus dance moves. While this happens, the folded pair of wings attach to Ani's back slowly expands as she sings the next part.
Գնա - վազի, թռի, իմ սեր / Gna! Vazi, t’rri, im ser
Հղթաներդ ւժեղ չեն / Shght’anerd uzhegh ch’en

Ani takes the mic off the stand and walks to the front of the main stage, while the dancers do so gradually while still dancing.
Գնա - վազի, թռի, իմ սեր / Gna! Vazi, t’rri, im ser
Հղթաներդ ւժեղ չեն / Shght’anerd uzhegh ch’en
Volal karë, volal or
Kestu es tiu kasu

In the last line of the next part, Ani and the dancers reach the front of the stage in time, and raise their right fists just as the song ends.
Գնա - վազի, թռի, իմ սեր / Gna! Vazi, t’rri, im ser
Հղթաներդ ւժեղ չեն / Shght’anerd uzhegh ch’en

The song ends and the crowd cheers. Ani says, "Shnorhakalutyun, gražia!" before leaving the stage for the next entrant.
I reminded myself of a day
When the sun rose on the horizon
But now I see your life
And you feel like you are faling

But like the wind
Everything will change
The sun will return
To the blue sky

Look into
Your wings
(Fly)

Go! Run, fly, my love
Your chains are not strong
Fly darling, fly now
This is your chance

Go! Run, fly, my love
Your chains are not strong
You can breathe
You’re free

Now let’s open the windows
And let’s invite the fresh air
With this new light, we can
Cut all the chains

And like the wind
Everything will change
The sun will return
To the blue sky

Look into
Your wings
(Fly)

Go! Run, fly, my love
Your chains are not strong
Fly darling, fly now
This is your chance

Go! Run, fly, my love
Your chains are not strong
You can breathe
You’re free

(Unfold your wings, open your eyes completely)
(Your flight has begun)
(Unfold your wings, open your eyes completely)
(Your flight has begun)

(Unfold your wings, open your eyes completely)
(Your flight has begun)
(Unfold your wings, open your eyes completely)
(Your flight has begun)

Look into
Your wings

Go! Run, fly, my love
Your chains are not strong
Fly darling, fly now
This is your chance

Go! Run, fly, my love
Your chains are not strong
You can breathe
You’re free

Go! Run, fly, my love
