No one gets to choose if they are a Lizard or not- such roles are randomly determined by chance save in that only one attorney can be a Lizard. Players sign up for the game and are assigned roles when the IC starts; they make a character on the fly for each round.. Lizards know who other Lizards are but Humans know not who other Humans are.
The Stronghold's court system is not one of 'Trial by Jury' - the Judge determines based on the arguments, evidence, etc weather the accused is guilty or innocent.
There is no established application or lore; just the scenario where upon players are to imagine a character to be and working off of the posts of others attempt to achieve their faction's goal in this trial.
Once a sentencing is announced the game concludes with the players revealing their roles on the OOC as the victorious faction becomes apparent
After a game players may elect to play again and another round will start. Each case will last no more then 30 pages and no less then 10. Once 30 pages are reached the Judge (the OP) will have to make judgement before the 31st page begins.
At least three players are needed for this scenario; two lawyers, and the accused. More however will make for a more interesting game. Faction members are encouraged to communicate with one another via TG to further their objective though with Humans not knowing which among them is a Lizard; well they may contact the wrong person.
