How to choose WA Delegate

Postby Proletastan » Thu May 03, 2018 3:11 pm

Hi,

I just founded a region, and want to appoint my friend as the WA delegate. How do I do this? How are the delegates chosen?

Thanks,

Proletastan

  1. Go to Your Mate's nation page
  2. If Your Mate is in your region, endorse Your Mate right now
  3. Wait until today's major update
  4. ???
  5. PROFIT!
You've already done this. Ergo, Cardison will be elected Alliance of the Servants of Jehovah's WA Delegate at major update, in about six hours' time (raids or other acts of [violet] notwithstanding).

The delegate is the nation with the most WA endorsements. So, you need at least two nations in the WA (by different players, since one player having multiple WA nations is illegal), and have one endorse the other.

Since I see that you are already in the WA, this is simple enough. Go to your friend's nation page and click "endorse". However, note that any other WA nations who join the region later will also have their endorsements counted, and they might choose someone else.

Being regional founder does not automatically grant you the right to appoint WA delegates, except by threatening to ban nations who don't vote the way you want them to. However, politely asking members to endorse a particular nation in the regional factbook entry usually works (unless you get raided).

However, if your goal is to give your friend regional powers, a better way to do this is to remove all powers (except the actual WA power, which is non-transferrable and selected as described above) from the WA delegate position, and instead appoint your friend as a regional officer with the powers you want your friend to have. This has the benefit of making you nearly immune to raiding.

We really ought to come up with a way to address this sort of frequently asked question. Maybe some sort of forum post would be helpful.

I dunno. Just a suggestion. Don't know why nobody's suggested it before.

You know, speaking of Delegates, anyone got any good stories on raids that ended up failing because of the delegate?

My favorite is when a region decided to raid a lesser region. They failed to raid the lesser region and lost there own region because the delegate of there region also raided with them. So the lesser region delegate and members moved over and yea you get
