If you guys don't mind, I start a new job for a new firm tomorrow, and I'd like to get as much sleep in as possible while still presenting an acceptance speech befitting this RP. Would you all forgive me if I post it tomorrow?

I use my NationStates stats, because a population of billions/trillions and an economy of hundreds of trillions is totally viable, trust me.
But seriously, aside from the population and GDP, just assume that my NS stats are roughly accurate.

Support: Paleo-imperialism, conservatism, libertarianism, Christianity.
Against: Stupid people, resistance to industrial progress, alt-right, any form of government at or beyond socialism.

I hail from The League of Conservative Nations. Hearts unthawed, hearts unshaken!

Takaka Tar' Turayi,
The stars will be ours someday.

Screw it. Let's make this sucker real-time.

Zjaum wrote:Thanks to everyone for the roleplay. I enjoyed every bit of it, and I would have enjoyed it just as much if I'd lost.

A bit of fun, though.

5 times now. This has happened 5 times now. A failure rate of 7%. 7%.
I mean, roleplaying the emotional state of Guess is going to be an amazingly fun time for me, so, ya. But ya, I lost over here and that's never gonna change how much fun this was
Zjaum wrote:If there is a House of Cards RP, you will expect Egilson to butt heads with the Republicans potentially more than Guess would. He's a strong proponent of fighting for ideas instead of fighting for majorities, so his ideals and a lot of tactical Republican ideals would clash considerably.

Well, at least there still be political strife in DC.

This roleplay is, as long awaited, officially completed.

I started this roleplay in the afternoon on the last day of April. Some friends and I — Lykens, Beta Test, Tumbra, and Collatis — thought it would be fun to run against each other in a prolonged presidential roleplay over the summer. I threw together a quick OP, picked a year that seemed reasonably far off in the future, and sent them the link. I had no idea it would be such an amazing experience.

We ran this roleplay for about 90 days. And I was never not impressed by all of your dedication to our characters' stories. Few roleplays make it all the way to the end. Very, very few roleplays are actually completed. This is the first one I've ever been involved in that has gone from beginning to end with a full story line.

You are truly some of the most talented roleplayers I have ever had the honor of writing with. At a time when it seems like no one is writing interesting characters or intriguing plots anymore, you guys have proven that there are some truly dedicated writers who, against all odds, find a 2052 political roleplay to be your cup of tea. That means a lot to me.

So I want to congratulate you all for making it all this way, especially Zjaum, Helowi, and New Cobastheia. It was a privilege to be your OP, and I cannot wait to see what we will do next.

When the time comes, I'd love to make another roleplay in the universe we've created. As I've said before, I think the best RPs will have set beginning and ending points rather than just being perpetual slice of political life roleplays. So let me know if you have any ideas for good scenarios to kick off a storyline worth roleplaying.

My idea is sort of an RP about the lives of officials in the Egilson administration (Ex. Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, Chief of Staff.) during maybe an American crisis like a recession, a large scale attack on American soil, or maybe a large conflict with a foreign country.

If we want to do a more long term thing, I like the idea of the house of cards style RP.

The Speaker of the House walks into a bar...

Everyone is welcome, and encouraged, to apply for the long-awaited "sequel" to this roleplay.
