German officials have been left speechless by Chancellor Angela Merkel's comment that there are "no-go areas" in the country.

The notion there are places in Germany outsiders — including police — can't visit has previously been dismissed by officials.

In an interview Monday with German broadcaster n-tv, Merkel said she favors a zero tolerance policy on crime and that includes preventing no-go areas, "that's areas where nobody dares to go."

She added: "There are such areas and one has to call them by their name and do something about them."

Asked to name the areas, Merkel's spokesman Steffen Seibert told reporters Wednesday that "the chancellor's words speak for themselves."

Interior Ministry spokesman Johannes Dimroth likewise declined to identify no-go areas, saying security was a matter for local not federal authorities.

So...for all those that said claims of violence by refugees was fear mongering and an attempt to spread racism, I guess it wasn't as far fetched as it seemed.

I am totally surprised, not that the violence is actually happening(Anytime a group of people have little to fear of reprisals for their actions, some tend to get nasty), but that Merkel, of all people, actually admitted to it.
I thought Germany would be bathed in flames and she would be sitting there, saying everything is fine, nothing to see here.

And, before claims about Islamophobia, This isn't about racism, to attempt to keep this conversation from being derailed by virtue signaling, although it shouldn't need to be stated but not all Muslims are violent, some are peaceful, wonderful people, yada yada.
But, some are violent, just like in every other creed of people, (Which I use creed because it is a group discussed based on religion, not race, so calls of racism are redundant, if anything people that dislike Muslims for their religion are guilty of creedism, or are creedists) and ignoring their crimes for fear of being labeled racist is absurd. There's a lot of young men from different cultures who practice a different religion with different views on women. While it obviously isn't all of the male refugees, the problem should have been addressed earlier and publicly.

It's criminal the government was denying it, and allowed women to be systemically victimized, and there should be justice. Merkel should resign.

Step up any on going integration and/or work programs for the communities in these no go areas and if none of its being done then start them and intensify police activity and apprehend those causing shit and set the record straight that this shit does not fly and they dont get to hide behind a religion, ideology or anything else for it.
