no dismiss button

Postby Wickedly evil people » Tue Jan 23, 2018 6:51 am

I have no dismiss button on an issue, Dismissal Denied.

Been there for several days, reboot, etc. Other issues have come and gone with a button.

Is this part of the issue? :)

The issue name should probably be a clue, but yes, the dismissal is in fact, denied on this issue.

That said, choosing the paper shredder option is basically akin to dismissal.

Oh how we argued over that design choice backstage. It's turned out to be a lot less complained about than I expected.

Option 2 has the lowest overall effect, for the record: just a teeny decrease in apathy, and that's it. No option is a functional dismiss.

probably because nobody's heard of this issue. at least I certainly haven't, I thought I knew every issue before at least #700 like the back of my hand by now, but alas, this one seems to have eluded me after all this time!

I must say, the first option is terribly written. it appears as though the 'aspiring revolutionary' is giving up and suggesting you double down on your vetoing shenanigans, making it seem as though all of the options are pro-veto.

Towed to GI since it seems a better fit there and is not a tech issue.

Its not that surprising you haven't seen this issue.

No real ingenuity is required to work out what the criteria are for receiving this issue. :)

98 people answered this issue in the last month got this issue, incidentally, though I couldn't tell you how many are just letting it sit in their inbox.

I had no idea this issue existed, either - and I'm in charge of the spoiler thread!

Funnily enough, I did notice the final option to this issue, though...

I thought it was out of place - I guess this explains it.

really? what does your dismissal rate have to be? I have puppets that dismiss maybe a fifth of issues to maintain stats. I'm guessing Malanasia's score is fairly decent.

edit: it would also be amusing if there was only one option, which was against veto power, and that was the only option besides dismissing. maybe not too functional game-wise but it would be humorous.

Is there any way to redo an issue if you didn't want the resolution that you picked? I also think dismissing is a good idea but it should have some negative effect as well

@redo: Sometimes. You may get an issue that undoes what you did, or just choose a different option from that issue when you get it again.
Otherwise, you just have to build up stats. You can turn on a "need confirmation"(something like that) button in your settings in case you accidentally
mess up or something. :P

@negative effect: The negative effect is the fact that nothing happens. If anything were to happen,
it'd be negative to some, and positive to others, be it left/right, free/authoritarian, extreme/centrist. :P

(course, some nations may want to not change period, and there are instances like economic crashes where you'd think dismissing the issue would do something,
but that aside it's generally safe to have it stay as-is, I presume)

*chuckles* well I got this issue just now. I would like to say it's very amusing. I tend to dismiss alot of issues as I'm actually trying to steer for specific goals.
