Arcane University of Magic (IC)

A JOURNEY OF A LIFETIME...

Atherium
Image

Atherium was a convergence of infinite realms where witches and wizards could traverse the Multiverse with ease. You remember the strange and exhilarating feeling has you crossed worlds to reach this Transdimensional Port.Dozens of magical shops lined the streets selling all sorts of gadgets and gizmos. Acrobats and magicians performed acts of daring and whimsy.Mages in their robes and pointy hats gawked at the touristy spectacles and moved by the droves. However, that was nothing compared to countless sailing ships that were docked in a colorful sea that gave way to eternity. You would've been lost in the massive crowds of mages if not for the powerful voice that reverberated across the world.

"All aboard, all aboard next stop the Arcane University of Magic!" The Captain shouted utilizing his wand to amplify his voice.

The strange Atheral being beckoned the young witches and wizards to make their journey on the magnificent ship that would carry them to their destination. You quickly landed on the deck of the vessel and was breath taken by the sheer size of it and felt the pure arcane energy flowing through the woodwork making your hairs stand up.

Excitement coursed through your veins has the ship slowly pulled from the docks and into the deep blue. You where shocked has can be when the ship floated from the sea and soared into the sky! Soon Atherium gave way, and you were traveling through the fabric of space and time, seeing all sorts of beasts and wonders along the way.

Image

Has the ship accelerated across the vastness of space, you soon grew used to its' swaying across the great waves of the space-time continuum. You looked all around you and saw hundreds of prospective students. Some were skilled duelists, wise arcanists, wicked broom-riders, and talented alchemists. Many more were average or below average mages having had to take out debt crushing loans to pay for this magically expensive education.

Others were plain psychotic and evil such as the hog looking prep student Bradford of House Phoenix. An charming individual by his own standards, who truly believed himself an "elite" among mages, he tried hard to prove this by torturing a particular scrawny looking squib and turning him into a frog.

While many of these young witches and wizards had their own dreams and ambitions one thing remained the same. All these apprentices were like you attending one of the greatest universities in the known Multiverse. With that in mind perhaps now was the time to explore the vessel and meet new people and make new choices.

Ruth stood by herself on the ship, looking off the railing to either side. She loved the height of it, the feel of the deck rocking back and forth, the steady movement under her feet. It meant that she was going places in life, new, exciting places with new and exciting people. Ugh, bad thought. She had to get back on track, in the aspirational mood that only comes with new beginnings. Ahem. She liked how the space around her was beautiful, all different hues of the same fabric that made up the endless beauty of the universe . . .

What she did not like was the people chattering all around. Sitting down on her trunk and clutching her satchel close, Ruth scanned the students on the ship to see if anyone she recognised was here. Her mother had brought her to many a magical social gathering and knowing someone might help her not have to focus on the upcoming pressures of school. She could then focus on the current pressures of dealing with a live human being, a pressure far greater than any class or exam. She saw someone she recognised almost instantly, but she couldn't remember her name, and the only thing worse than not knowing someone was knowing them but not their name. Ruth hated that. It seemed everyone always knew her (goodness knows her mother talked about her every chance she got) but she never knew anyone else, and things often got tense between her and others with her absolutely winning combination of awkwardness and anti-social behaviour.

So she sat there, just staring at everyone, reciting the ingredients needed for the reaction to turn stone into gold in her head. It was going to be a long trip.

Artur and Taryn Hawkthorn
"Pop! Hey Pop, look!" A redhead in orange robes was gazing with rapture over the side of the ship, taking in the sights like a vampire thirsty for blood who hadn't fed in a while. A deep chuckle behind her alerted her to a tall redheaded wizard in red and yellow robes, wearing glasses and a pointed hat like his daughter put a hand on his shoulder when he went to go join her on the balcony.
"I've seen this route several times when I was on my way to this very college, remember?"

"I know, I'm just so excited! It's my first time here, and I'm gonna learn from the most awesome, the coolest and best wizard in the whole frickin' multiverse...who happens to be my dad! Dude, if I was everybody else I'd be so jealous." she flashed a grin at her father like the Cheshire Cat, and he merely grinned back at her.
"We're gonna have a great term, right?"
"Totally!"
"Okay then, Hawkthorn high-five."

It was all so beautiful...

People always say that his home of Attenos was one of the most beautiful places in the universe, with its turquoise sky and floating continents - but this was something else entirely. Atherium was an opulent wonderland, its towering structures connected by various bridges rising high over the churning sea below... it all reminded him of the home he had left behind. If only he had more time to see it all, and wasn't stuck in the middle of such a massive crowd...

A massive voice echoed through the port, making him jump and promptly tug on his hood. The crowd - which he assumed were his fellow students - all boarded the ship, where he was met with an even greater wonder than he had ever seen before. As soon as he stepped onto the deck, he rushed over to the rails so that he can get the perfect view. His eyes wide and glistening, Arno looked out over the sea of stars that unraveled before him. His hands gripped the railing as he beheld the vastness of the Multiverse. This was only the beginning of the greatest journey he will ever partake.

Arno Kupras was his name, his given name, but he knew that he was going to have to go by the name he gave to himself: Michael Kinelli. It was a very human-sounding name, one that no one will be suspicious of. Nope, not at all. No one will be suspicious of the short kid who always keeps his hood on, even while he's indoors - if anyone even notices him. After staring out over the deck for what felt like a blissful eternity, he turned around to see just who was on this ship with him. There were quite alot, no surprise, and of all sort of appearances and backgrounds. To his misfortune, however, he cought sight of Bradford, tormenting a poor squib and turning him into a frog. A squib. Arno quickly pulled his hood down as far as he could and turned back around.

Keep the hood on, and no one will know.

Keep the hood on, and no one will know.

Seregwen

"This is terrible", thought Seregwen to herself. This was the first time she'd ever been on a ship of any type and the rocking, swaying, and floating was making her nauseous. She decided to sit on the deck to minimize the disorientation, and she kept herself far away from the rails so she couldn't look down towards the ground....if there even was ground here.....she sure wasn't looking to find out.

After a few moments, her stomach didn't feel like it was going to fly out of her mouth, and she was well enough to look around at the other passengers. Some boy had turned another into a frog and proceeded to taunt and torture him, this sight brought a smile to her face, the sight of such antics soothed her so. She looked forward to having power like that, unfortunately half of the time she was just too ill to exert that much energy to actively punish the weakness of others, she instead used the more nuanced ways of deceit....if she had a word to describe her method, it'd be "finesse".

Yes, this world ran on power, knowledge, and guile, and only that. The knowledge she'd gain from this Academy would be priceless, in order to avoid becoming like that worthless squib, and placing herself in the ranks with the elites, the winners, like that boy.

Brandon

Brandon was relaxed as the ship made its way to the school. He had been taking note of everyone and evaluating them in his mind. He had talked to a human girl about his age and had successfully convinced her to give him a kiss but he had moved on soon after leaving her swooning. She was just a test of his charisma. Nothing more and nothing less. However maybe later on he could have some more fun with her.

Still looking around his eyes came to rest on Seregwen. He had met her years ago at her orphanage on a trip with his father to donate a large new sleeping quarters. Since then they had stayed in touch and Brandon at one point almost begged his parents to adopt her but he never told her that. Their relationship, on the outside, was one of mutual benefit and nothing more. Although deep down Brandon thought of her like a sister and would die to save her.

Walking from behind he tapped her on the shoulder saying “Yell yell yell. Look who it is.”

Rosalia

Walking aboard the ship with a hood on, she looked around as she made her rounds throughout the ship, wand in hand to ensure that no illegal activities or any cult activities were taking place at the moment. After clearing out the lower decks, she made her way up to the top decks as she looked around at all the students, judging them at the same time. Gazing around, she saw that Bradford, one of the students in the god cursed houses the made was currently taunting a squib. "You." She said coldly, turning the frog back into a human. "I shall not tolerate discrimination on any level, magic or not they are still equal human beings to you. Shall I turn you into a frog to give you a feeling of it?" She warned, hood obscuring the flames and most of her face with darkness as only her hair which was sticking out along with her cold blue eyes were seen.

Turning around, she continued to look around at all the other students that were there. She saw that one was currently staring at everyone, as if in deep thought. Another had a sense of evil around her, something she had to take note of lest she stray from the right path. Another was currently trying to talk to her. She sighed as she removed her hood for a moment, clapping her hands with the sound amplified as she addressed all students.

"Students, allow me to introduce myself. You may call me professor Rosalia. And on behalf of the school, unofficially, we welcome you to the prestigious Arcane University of Magic. I can see great potential in all of you from my tours of this ship, and I am sure that all of you will survive the school year. I look forward to seeing some of you in my classes." Upon finishing, she put the hood back on again as she slowly made her way down to the lower levels.

Michael

A professor?

Michael did not expect there to be any professors on this ship; he figured they would already be at the academy, waiting to welcome the students as they were dispatched. Why was this woman here, then? While he was first boarding the ship, he caught sight of another older gentleman - was he a professor, too? For the brief moment that the professor had her hood, down, Michael felt a chill run down his spine. There was something about her, something dark and mysterious. At the same time, however, she came to the aid of that poor squib that was being harassed. Whoever she is, Michael couldn't help but hope that she was not going to be the professor in the classes he was planning to major in.

TRIP TO THE ARCANE UNIVERSITY

Bradford looked with disgust and hatred at Rosalia has she transformed the squib back into a human. In his snobbish and condescending tone of voice, he proceeded to berate her."I'll have you know that my father is a significant patron of this university, do I have to tell him that a low-class underpaid teacher"...

He stuttered as he stared at her cold blue eyes and flames pulsating from her under her hood, and was about to speak once more, but instead turned to the squib.

"The professor may have saved your arse squib but don't think this is over, we still have business to settle,"He said as he gave the death stare to him then ran towards his squad and out of sight.

While the conflict was over, for now, the ship continued its inaugural journey to the university; you wouldn't have to wait long till finally the high towers of the school appeared from the mists of time.

The Tour

Image

The colossal ancient university appeared, host to tens of thousands of witches and wizards, you saw them flying on their brooms and mounts, practicing their magic and rushing to class. Whatever you thought before you knew that this wasn't your little witch academy, this was the big leagues.Has the ship landed on the docks the Captain granted his farewell, and the students promptly got off the boat.

Out of nowhere streams of arcane energy appeared and danced on the scene, they gathered into a bright flash of magical power, a young looking graduate student donned in witch robes, and hood appeared, smiling and waving at the apprentices.

"Welcome apprentices!, my name is Cindy Rosebush I'll be the one to guide you to the orientation hall". Cindy turned to Rosalia "Oh professor Rosalia of the College of Summoning! Great to see you". She turned to the students and whispered "Don't worry her class isn't has deadly has it used to be, we haven't had students eaten by monsters in years" She then motioned the apprentices to follow her.

Has she guided you to Orientation Hall she pointed to the various colleges that you would be attending. First, you see a massive tree sprouting from a building, and a nearby greenhouse without a doubt home to thousands of alchemical ingredients."That's the College of Alchemy, where students are making cutting-edge advancements in the field of Alchemy" .After she said that you hear a massive explosion coming from the building.

"Of course progress can be rather exciting," Cindy said afterwards.

"There's the College of Conjuration, right over there the gigantic tower made of the four elements, the College of Illusion constantly changing appearance, and shifting from place to place, the College of Mysticism."

She paused for effect and smiled. "By the way Mysticism is the best college, you should see the Orrey and Planetarium it just so amazing! Then let's see the College of Restoration so serene and beautiful, ah yes the College of Enchantment, and Summoning those two castles over there".You see some dark and derelict ruins on the horizon, but Cindy oddly ignores them.

Orientation Hall

Image

"And here's Orientation Hall, this is where events and lunch will be.Well, my job here is done, good luck!" Cindy then teleported in a flash of light. You see rows upon rows of tables seating hundreds of students. In front of it, are of your professors discounting Rosalia and Artur; you see Revan Ravenheart, sitting on the headmistress throne donned in long flowing black robes and a black hat. An air of power and authority surrounds her.

She stood with a smile that looked more deadly then friendly and tapped her skull chalice with her wand.

"Welcome young apprentices, I see around me the Class of 2022 the future generation of the Wizarding World, let me just say that this is a remarkable class of young witches and wizards and that I expect nothing but greatness from all of you. Heed the word of your professors, and work hard, and you will reach the stars in this University now let the feast begin!"

Revan waved her wand and an abundant amount of delicious mouth-watering food appeared out of thin air, roast chicken, duck, potatoes, greens, ham, scallions, mushrooms, a delectable array of pizzas, pies both savory and sweet, chocolate cake and mousse, and oceans upon oceans of wine, butterbeer and non-alcholic drinks appeared on the tables.

Revan disapeared mysteriously but you could hardly notice in all the commotion.

“Well love, here we are.” Professor Hawkthorn was guiding Taryn by the arm as Cindy chatted away excitedly and showed everyone all the finer points of the school.
“The College of Conjuration, where you’ll be working.” Taryn breathed in awe. “Knock ‘em dead, Pop. I know you can, show ‘em what the Hawkthorns are really made of.”

“Aren’t I supposed to be the one giving you the pep talk?” Artie asked, quirking a red eyebrow in amusement. Taryn merely laughed and shoved his arm playfully. “Hey, we’re family. We pep talk each other, it’s what we do. So yes, I get to pep talk the professor because I have exclusive daughter privileges.”

Michael

Each moment that passed by was like a dream, one that Michael couldn't believe he would never wake out of. The dazzling port of Aetherium, then the endless sea of stars, and now the Arcane University itself. With each step he took he was filled more and more with wonder. Just what awaited him beyond those beckoning doors? A rather half-fast tour, which was more just pointing out the various schools rather than actually visiting them. Michael did not worry, though; he would have more than enough time to explore every inch of this academy once classes actually began.

He then entered the Orientation Hall, and at the far end of the hall was her: Headmaster Revan Ravenheart, for all intents and purposes, the most powerful witch in the world. Her mere presence in the hall was almost overwhelming. With a wave of her wand, a banquet fit to feed a nation materialized from the aether. Just one glimpse and Michael had to keep himself from drooling. But now he was faced with another issue: where to sit. All of the tables were already bustling with hungry students, eating and drinking and talking to one another, with sparse empty seats in between them. They all complete strangers, strangers that no doubt would rather not have someone as awkward as Michael suddenly sit next to them. As a result, the boy remained in the center aisle, looking around while holding his hands nervously in front of him.

Seregwen

Seregwen's interest in the situation of the bully and the froggy squib increased as a female, presumably a student, entered the scene. The girl made some "righteous" comments about "not tolerating discrimination", all of which were utter nonsense appeals to equality....power play was the reality of the moment, the battle of wills, wit, and strength. The female student's intensity was alluring, she would be one to watch, could be useful later.

She was startled by a suddenly tap on the shoulder, Seregwen looked up and was pleasantly suprised to see her old friend Brandon. He had visited her once at the orphanage when they were younger.

"Brandon, I was wondering where you were at! Looks like this is going to be a very interesting school. Have you met anyone new yet?", she asked as she stood up, facing him. The two of them had grown quiet a bit since they saw eachother last, her friend was now a rather charming looking man.

Brandon smiled at his friend and replied “Well I met a girl and her friends and convinced her she liked me and got a kiss so this school seems ok so far. How about you?” Brandon was several inches taller than Seregwen and so he had to look down at her when he spoke. He found this amusing because the was a time where she had been the taller one.

As they were led off on the tour he turned back and saw the girl and her friends still looking at him and giggling. Maybe later he could have some more fun with them. Turning back to Seregwen he said “What classes are you in?”

Ruth slowly made her way to the boy who wasn't sitting down. Well, she wasn't being slow, her tortoise was. And since she was sitting cross legged on her tortoise, she wasn't exactly going breakneck speeds. This was her chance. She would make a friend for the the first time in her life. She would be charming and social and everything her mother was that she wasn't. She was going to be the best conversationalist . . . "So. Food. Yes?" Crap.

Leorgan watched as the students and faculty huddled around the table of food, conversing with one another. Their auras intermingled and flared, filling the room with a vibrant symphony of color and vitality. He pondered the day so far, his presence in it. He'd hung back for the most part, watching the orientation. Cindy, one had to like her. So much enthusiasm, so much life. Intensity of self was a trait Leorgan admired, and even if she got ahead of herself every now and then it was good to see someone trying to run with what they had.

Meanwhile, he sat back brooding in silence with little idea of whom to speak to. It wasn't as if he couldn't talk when he got going. Talking himself into good favor was the only way he'd gotten anyone to accept him to this position, and commanding attention and respect was the only way he had kept it. No amount of "hard work" was going to substitute for that. Yet It was the start that always got him. He just didn't know when to come into a conversation with people who could very likely recoil from his existence. Even when Cindy brought up the greatness of his department, a compliment he was deeply greatful for, all he could do was muster up a form of nod and a ghost of a smile.

Oh for the love of Hakhet, are you going to sit here and brood all day?

Leorgan glanced down at his cloak, a dark slithering voice coming from beneath it. A dark black snake slithered up his torso, resting its head on his shoulder in exhaustion. I know you enjoy the whole sticking to the shadows and glaring ominously thing, but if you're going to go to all the effort to attend a party there isn't any point in not participating.

Leorgan adjusted his collar, "I'm here on principle, Osiris. This is an important event for the school. It would be indecent of me not to attend."

Yes, of course. Principle. While we're at it let's fill out a few tax forms, further emphasize the aura of abject boredom you have subjected me to.

"Nonsense. You and I both know my aura has never been anything but interesting."

Osiris lifted his head to look at Leorgan with the largest amount of sarcasm a snake with few facial muscles could express. Alright, smart guy, look here. I'm starving. There's some roasted quail on that last table over there and I'm going to have some tonight whether you like it or not. So you either take me over there now or I'm slithering over myself. Who knows, I might have some fun and give that mouse familiar a heart atta-

"Alright, fine." Leorgan interjected sharply, tucking Osiris back into his cloak. He began to walk over to the food, whispering under his breath. "I was about to go introduce myself to some students anyways. Besides, I'm hungry too."

Of course you are, Leo. you've been fasting for three days now. I've told you that can't be healthy.

"My spiritual exercises are none of your concern."

Everything you do is my concern. Someone has to keep you out of trouble after all.

Leorgan kept his eyes straight ahead as he grabbed a plate. He could sense them already, the eyes on him. He could hear whispers, sense the glancing looks and steps away from him as he shuffled down the line. He ignored them mostly. Thats what he always did.

Seregwen

She looked at the girls Brandon mentioned, looking them over from head to toe, cringing as her eyes beheld them, "Eh...they're ok, if you're into trolls. It's difficult to look at them." Seregwen wasn't impressed by her friend's catch, she of course viewed herself as more beautiful than most other girls, certainly more so than those. Such girls would be easy targets for any boy with alterior motives, giggling fools, for a brief moment she considered a few ways to cockblock her womanizing friend for subjecting her eyes to such disgusting specimens, but she decided allow him his fun and the fruits of his labors.

As she and Brandon walked along, she was in awe of just how grand the area was. Dozens of tables stacked with platters of food, students and professors alike flocking to them to gorge their stomachs and stimulate their minds with conversation. This was more abundance than the orphan had ever seen, and it was...nice.

She turned to answer Brandon's question, "I'm majoring in Illusion and Summoning, how about yourself?"

Alexander Vivienne

The Orientation Hall was loud. Too loud for his liking. Alexander didn't like the noise, it kept breaking his focus, getting in the way of what needed to be done. What will be done. The moment he entered the vast room, he immediately strode over to one of the corners of the hall, to the table with the least amount of vermin at it and took a seat. He inspected the feast that lay before him.

Food out of nowhere, definitely no beginner level spell. The amount of magicka required...

It wasn't long until the man was deep in thought. He took out a small, leather-bound journal from underneath his cloak and began to write in it. With the distractions around him, it was vital for the thoughts to be written down permanently. In between paragraphs he would help himself to the food, taking only what he deemed healthy for Alexander, heir of House Vivienne, had to remain in peak performance for what was to inevitably come in the school year ahead.

He just needed the signal...

Rosalia

Bowing at her mention, she tailed the group for a while as she made sure that currently no one was being turned into any frogs, since it was too much of a bother constantly saying the same thing and turning them back into humans. Her aura could be felt around the distance as she passed by the broken down castle, as if warning people to not go near it or something along that.

Upon entering the hall, she quickly turned into a form of mist as she took her seat with the other professors, yawning as she casually caused a cup of wine to levitate towards her. Taking a sip from it, she sighed as she swirled it around for a moment as she got another plate from her seat, casually causing a bunch of roasts, peas and carrots to go onto a plate and come towards her. She took a look around the hall, singling out a few students that she would have to look out for. As her eyes scanned around the area, she took a bite before seeing the evil girl talk with someone.

"I'll have to take note of them, something seems wrong." She muttered to herself as she took another sip of the wine, while also secretly lifting up her wand as the plain lights began to switch colors before finally ending in a bright but somber blue.

Brandon Kiser

Brabdon smiled and said “Trolls? They are drop dead gorgeous. I mean look at the pair of....” At that point he understood she was being more jealous than anything since hadn’t mention her. She was always so vain about her looks even before puberty. And puberty had been kind toward her definitely.

Smiling he continued saying “But they don’t compare to you Seregwen. I must say puberty has been very very kind to you.” Ending it with a wink he smiled before looking around at the room they were in. Leaning closer to Seregwen he whispered “You know my Grandfather paid for the renovations that made this room and many others in the shape they are today.” Pointing to a decent sized plaque hanging over the main door that had the Kiser name and emblem on it he said “See, they put that up in our honor. The unofficial name of this Orientational Hall is Kiser Hall. Then I believe the school of Illusuon and Conjuration were helped by my family as well. Actually most of the colleges have been recipients of Kiser money. Probably a plaque in every damn room.”

She was going to be the best conversationalist . . . "So. Food. Yes?" Crap.

Michael

The boy gave a slight jolt, as if he were frightened. He then turned around, his hands still held meekly in front of him. Everything other than his face and some tufts of silvery hair was covered by his hood. What wasn't covered in cloth or shadow still had a soft shade cast over them.

"Uh..." The boy stammered. "Yes. Food. I, uh... just need to find... a seat" The boy turned back around, his head turning this way and that in a frantic search for an open seat... oh, dear, two open seats, now. After several moments of panicked scanning, the boy said, "There. There are two seats over, um, there. I hope they don't mind..."

Without waiting for a response from Ruth, Michael started to make his way in short, quick steps towards the seats, which were on a table a few columns past the center aisle. He had to brush his way past several students just to get there, mumbling an apology each time.

"Oh. Okay!" Her tortoise did a fair job keeping up, as the boy in the robes had to push through everyone but everyone parted for the girl sitting on a giant tortoise. Eventually she caught up to him at the table.

Michael

Michael had sat down, and was in the process of gingerly placing food onto his plate from a various trays. For such a small figure, he sure had a lot on his plate. He was about to dig in when he heard Ruth’s question, making him quickly put the fork down.

“Ar...” He caught himself. “No, uh... Michael. Kinelli. I’m taking Restoration and Mysticism” The boy then turned back to his food, holding his utensils in excitement.

Ruth realised that the boy, Michael, was more interested in his food than her company. That was fine. As much as she wanted a friend (all of the books she read said that friends were the best . . . or was it that best friends are . . . oh bother) it was tiring trying to keep up a conversation. She wasn't made for things like this. On the bright side, he seemed just as awkward as her. She liked that. She tried to reach for the food in the centre of the table, but found that because she was sitting on her tortoise, it was just out of reach. Not sure about the policy on magic outside of classes, Ruth waved her hand to give the nearest dish a gentle pull in her direction. Amid the shouts, chatter, and clinking of dishes in the hall, she and Michael were in a bubble of, if not comfortable, then remarkably not uncomfortable, silence. This is nice.

Beginning of AUTUMN SEMESTER

Image

You step out of Residence Hall, and into the wide-open world. The cold air nips your nose, and a fresh breeze greets you as you open the door. The university grounds are awash in gorgeous autumnal colors, and a buzz of magic penetrates the air, fae rummage about the painted trees and bushes beckoning you to follow them to their little homes. You see some students running, flying to class, wands and spellbooks in hand ready, to learn about the mysteries of the magical arts.

You also see a messaging board, giving quests from all over the known world. While the pay seemed small, to the struggling college student any amount of gold was worth it, and even to the wealthy, the chance to adventure was probably enticing enough...

To the discerning witch or wizard...

My home has become haunted by a horrifying phantom, it walks up and down the corridors, terrifying both me and my pets, and shrieking in an alien language that I do not understand.I am not a mage and thus I lack the powers to expel this apparition. Please, I will pay an reward of 100 gold to whoever is able to get rid of this monster, not to mention I will forever be in your debt.

Come to Liesel street in the City-State of Daria, I live in the first house to the right.

Sincerely,Ms.Cavendish

Greetings young witches and wizards!

I am a scientist who is in need of six soul gems for my studies, I am, however, too old and frail to risk my life to mine for them.If you were to head to the Forgotten Mines and receive these items, I would not only let you keep them after I am done with my research, but also pay 10 gold for each one.

You'll need a pickaxe in order to mine the gems also I'd advise you to bring some potions, the slime monsters and insects can be a bit messy.Just come by my research lab near Daria for the reward.

Best regards Abel the Scientist

It seemed today held much potential for learning and adventuring one just had to explore the world in order to find it...

To the Esteemed Ms. Cavendish,

My name is Ruth Mulder, a first year student at the University. I am messaging you in reply to the ad you placed on campus regarding your haunting problem, and I believe I have found several solutions to your problem.

If all the ghost does is shriek and cause noises, I know how to make a potion that will dull your senses and those of your pets to the ghostly dimension. It will still exist, but you will not be able to notice that it is there. However, you will have to reapply the potion every six months. I can offer you a deal of 20 gold per potion. After all, why cause the ghost harm if you can safely ignore it? If you choose to take me up on this offer I will explain the specific mechanics of how it works. Remember, if you choose this option it will not harm the ghost and your building will not be damaged in any way.

I could also cast a spell that would not affect you or the ghost. Rather, it would create a sort of mirror dimension in your house where the ghost would be stuck. My mother, the High Witch Eleanor Mulder, has taught me this spell and can attest to it's effectiveness. You will not see the ghost and the ghost will not see you. However, this costs a considerable amount of magic and I would have to ask for 150 gold coins.

If the ghost contacts the world of the living or you simply cannot stand the thought of it walking the halls of your house, I have a potion that is able to remove ghosts from a particular place. However, this potion is very costly and takes a few days to make. For it to be profitable I must ask for 120 gold coins. You will be free of the ghost and not have to deal with damages sustained to your house if another wizard were to try to use force to remove the ghost.

Please send me a letter back withing three days if you are interested in my offer.

- Ruth Mulder
