The issue is about electrical consumption for the lighting & fountains of the hotels, casinos, & decoration for Les Prés/Heaven, not so much how tourists are more wasteful.

Horribly run-on sentence aside, this premise is really odd. Why would power plant workers agree to strike for environmentalist reasons? Can you imagine someone working in a power plant risking their job and income for a cause which, if successful, would likely result in redundancies in their own number?
