"Welcome to the first annual Student Exchange Program funded by the Pettersen Education Company! We are a company that promotes the learning of culture through immersion, and are honored that you have chosen to go on this adventure with us.

We make it our utmost priority to maintain the safety of the students who will be sent to the Port Stephen University to learn different subjects, about Kannapian culture, and just to have a good time!

The university is host to many historically important buildings, such as the Antiquities Museum, Barvet Museum, University Art Gallery, and the University Library. The campus and the local area offer a wide selection of dining locations such as Courtyard Restaurant and Bar, Lettucehead Cafe, Bridge Sandwiches, Smoothie Queen and many others, serving a wide variety of food and drinks. In addition to dining locations on campus, there are hundreds of dining locations in the city in the vicinity of the university. The University is situated close to all the beloved landmarks of the city, and both bus and metro routes have stations close to the university. City tours are a popular must-do when visiting the city, especially because there is just so much of the city to take in!

Student housing will be provided in Christopher Spencer Dormitory, is named after the second President of the Federation of Kannap. Each student in the program will be housed in a dorm room in the building, with the likelihood of having one, or even two, roommates! Each dorm room comes equipped with a bed, a desk and chair, a dresser, a microwave, cabinet space, and a mini refrigerator. Each room has an adjoining private bathroom with a stand-up only shower, a toilet, and a sink. Each floor of the building is equipped with a kitchen and a laundry room. The dormitory comes with Wi-Fi throughout the entire building, meeting rooms and study rooms on each floor, a theater and diner on the first floor, a sky lounge on the top floor and a rooftop garden.

Teacher housing will be provided in Madsten Dormitory. Each teacher in the program will be housed in a dorm room in the building. The dorm rooms are private, single occupancy rooms with adjoining private bathrooms. The dorm has Wi-Fi throughout the entire building, meeting rooms on each floor, a coffee shop on the first floor, and a rooftop garden. There is a lounge on the first floor for the use of all floors. There is a small laundry room on every floor.

Once you arrive in Port Stephen, you will be checked by local security and placed into the registrar. This process is to prevent any delays in reaching the University. Public transportation will be chartered to take you directly to the University, so be sure to come on time!*

* accommodations for delays will be available if needed"

Port Stephen International Airport || Port Stephen, Kannap
The airport had been made ready to welcome students from the international community in celebration of their arrival for the Pettersen Student Exchange. An entire terminal of the airport had been reserved by the government to receive students and for students to meet and greet each other before everybody arrived and transportation would be loaded to embark towards the university. The terminal had been cleaned and made nice and elegant for the arrival of the students and exceptional catering had been brought in, but not fancy gourmet catering. The food was specifically picked for young adults, some of who may be picky eaters, and therefore expensive and fancy foods were avoided for the occasion.

A table was set up at the central area of the terminal, where officials from the program were waiting for students arrive so that students could have their student ID made for them. The student IDs will serve as identification for the students in the program while they're in the nation and will act as their student visas while also serving the purpose of granting them access to the dormitory, where they will have to swipe the ID card to enter the building. Another table, next to the student table, was where teachers could arrive to have a staff ID crafted for them, which would grant them access to the dormitory they'll be staying in; the staff ID will also grant teachers with access to staff only spaces located around campus.

Royal Kannapolis International Airport || Kannapolis, Kannap
Daniel Paora, one of the students selected for the Pettersen Student Exchange prepared for the short trip to Port Stephen as he boarded the plane in Kannapolis, he looked forward to meeting the many students arriving from around the world in the next few hours. He still had not been informed as to where his rooming situation would be in the dormitory, despite thinking the Kannapian students would receive information about the exchange that other students would not yet be receiving. No, the Kannapian students were being treated the same as students from other nations in regards to how they were granted information.

David Petera, chair of the Kannapian History department at the University of Kannapolis, lead scholar in the world in regards to Kannapian history, and President of the Kannapian National History Society was boarding the same plane as Daniel, despite not knowing that anybody else on board was going to Port Stephen for the student exchange. David was ready to share his love and knowledge of Kannapian culture and history with students from around the world. He was proud of his job and his role in the Pettersen Student Exchange.

Clengin-Tyuti Bergsstad Regional Airport || Bergsstad, Kannap
Natalie Kahurangi's city, Bergsstad, was quite a bit smaller than Port Stephen or some other cities in the nation and didn't have an international airport but instead had a small regional airport. Fortunately, for her, the regional airport included Port Stephen in their flight schedules and she would not have to fly to Kannapolis and then fly to Port Stephen. She boarded a small 50 passenger plane that would get her from Bergsstad to Port Stephen. She had never flown on a plane before and was nervous about the flight, especially in a plane smaller than she expected. However, she was excited and ready to meet students from other nations and learn about their lives and cultures. She was ready to learn about how other people in other nations lived differently or similarly to those living in Kannap. She smiled as the plane's wheels left the runway.

Zoey had been sitting in a harvester when she finally opened the letter of acceptance. Now two weeks and 12 hours later here she was at the airport. She called her parents firs thing upon getting off the plane. "Oh the flight was long, I slept most of the way. What time is it there? No kiddin' that late? Time really is different. All right I'll let ya get back to sleep. Love ya." she put her phone back into her pocket. She probably stood out a bit wearing shortalls and a flannel pattern shirt (which was just basic cotton) and a wicker style hat. Yep she was a country girl from Eeri all right. "Huh I think this is it" she muttered aloud moving into the terminal where it looked like she was early, or maybe the first one. But things were set up for others to arrive.

Viktor Tõivonen:

Only last night Viktor Tõivonen had been seated in the surprisingly comfortable plane seat en route to the Middle East awaiting a second flight to Port Stephen. He had flown business class since it was a one way flight and because he had wanted a nice start to his exchange. That he certainly got, not even the overnight tropical storm and turbulence while flying off the coast of south east Asia phased him. Many people loathed even the thought of turbulence, yet to Viktor it was actually exciting. Flying during the night was nearly always great too, even if it meant arriving for a five hour layover at an ungodly hour, like was the case with this one. In reality he had been traveling for over twenty four hours. Fortunately he was able to sleep for four hours while waiting for his connection flight. Security was not an issue. "The advantages of having good relations with other countries", he had told himself as he had passed through passport control without much holdups.
The similarities to Kosya were on the low side, little to no comparisons that could be made on first glances. Viktor wasn’t put off by this, as much as he adored the almost mystical forests, fog and lakes of Kosya he was eager to explore this new world far from anywhere he had ever been. The harbour he spotted while flying in was of particular interest.

After five minutes of trudging behind a crowd of wide eyed tourists the Kosyan strolled with a slightly quicker step through to the other terminal, which had been reserved for the exchange program and where he knew he was to meet the representatives of the university. A few signs kept Viktor walking in the correct direction until a group a few metres away came into view beneath various signs relating to the program. This was definitely the right place. Collecting his luggage he approached the assortment of tables. There were few other students here yet, he must have been one of the first. Viktor wore a turtleneck black sweater with two horizontal red stripes and tight fitting black jeans, the legs of which finished just short of his ankles. He was anticipating finding out from were all the other students had come from, but for now simply signing in and receiving an ID card was the priority.

Port Stephen International Airport | Port Stephen, Kannap
Natalie
Natalie had arrived safely at the airport and made her way to the terminal where they were supposed to meet with officials representing the Pettersen Student Exchange. She had thought about her luck during the entire flight from Bergsstad to Port Stephen, how lucky she was to be involved in such a good opportunity as the student exchange. When she had arrived at the terminal, she looked around and could see a table full of food from a local catering service. Probably Clengin Family Restaurants, she thought. She saw two tables with officials, where she believed she was supposed to head to. She noticed another girl and a boy, the girl was also taking in the sight of the terminal reserved for them while the boy appeared to have made his way straight to the table where the officials were standing. Natalie decided to approach the table.
ID Table Official
Patrick Harlop usually served in his role as Dean of Students at Port Stephen University, but today he was working at the student ID table for the Pettersen Student Exchange. It was not as important as his normal daily tasks, but he was doing the job with a smile on his face. He was proud to greet the students coming to Kannap from around the world. He spotting a girl enter the terminal first, but she made no quick direction toward the ID table. Shortly after, a male student arrived and made his way straight towards the ID table. He could see another girl arriving shortly after that, and she slowly made her way to the ID table behind the boy.

"Welcome to Kannap, where are the two of you from? Can I have your names and ages and I can get started on making your ID. We'll take a picture of you with this camera and will have the ID printed in a matter of five minutes."

Port Stephen International

Both Yuxanna and Pål* had arrived from the same plane on Storfjorden Airlines after it made a connection in the Kihdite capital. The flight originated in the Storfjorder boy's home city of Tromsø before making a connection in the Kihdite capital, which finally led to the city of Port Stephen. The two did not sit near one another on the plane, and only briefly said "hello" as Yuxanna had struggled down the aisle with his luggage.

But now they were in the terminal. Jet-lagged, and tired. Yuxanna made it to the counter first, to ask for his ID, while Pål dozed off on a chair behind the gathering. Understandable.

Viktor Tõivonen

Within a minute more two other students arrived into the terminal. Viktor presumed that all the flights with students must be landing within the space of an hour or two. How else would an airport as busy as this spare an entire terminal specifically for the exchange. Either that or there were going to be a very large number of participants. Now for the first time he noticed the second food laden table, but despite the temptation he proceeded to the check in desk. "My is Viktor. Viktor Tõivonen, 18, from Kosya", he answered the man who stood behind the desk, he then continued to explain they would be taking Viktor's picture and that the ID card would be ready in the space of five minutes. Viktor simply nodded to let them do what they needed to do.

Tushlark Intl. Airport, Togonistan.

Rai Hoani stepped out of a yellow cab. He took his huge sports bag from the back and paid his bill, before heading towards Terminal B, where a flight to Kannap was about to take off soon. Rai whistled as he walked to check-in. A young Togoni woman smiled to him and took a quick look at his passport. Everything seemed to be in order. ''Have a nice flight,'' a woman said to Rai as she gave him his passport back. Rai replied with a simple ''Thank you'' as he made his way to the plane. He has a seat reserved in a business class, even though, considering the fact that the flight shouldn't take too long for him, it didn't seem that necessary. Still, once he took a seat and had a glass of champagne given to him, he couldn't help but smirk a bit. Yes, what a great service, like he was a king or something.

Meanwhile, another yellow cab could be seen speeding towards the airport, before braking with smoking tires leaving a mark on the asphalt. Eli Akiah jumped out of the car and quickly grabbed his brown luggage from the trunk, before speeding towards Terminal B. As he made his way to the check-in, he took a moment to catch his breath before asking: ''Was I late?'' A woman smiled to him and said: ''No Sir, you just barely made it.'' Eli felt a slight relief as he replied: ''Oh, thank god!'' After a woman checked his passport and all the other paperwork, he also made his way to the plane. Eli took a seat and put his earbuds on before closing his eyes and falling asleep.

Port Stephen International Airport, Kannap

As the plane was about to land, Rai had his eyes pointed out of the window. Seeing Port Stephen from a plane was beautiful, as was the fact that he was going to be there for quite some time. In fact, it was the first time for Rai to go anywhere outside Togonistan's borders. Rai smiled as he heard a flight attendant welcoming everyone to Port Stephen and telling them to get off the plane. Rai stood up and walked through all the necessary security checks, before making his way to the terminal. He looked around a bit and, eventually, noticed the sign. ''Ah, I guess that's the place,'' he said to himself as he made his way to the desk, where there were already 3 other students waiting for their IDs. Rai was just standing there behind Kihdite student and looking around, while adjusting a large sports bag on his shoulder. Rai was wearing a dark grey T-Shirt with ''HellElk Game Studios'' logo on it, a pair of black jeans and white sneakers. He had his hair styled in kind of a fohawk.

Meanwhile, Eli had fell asleep on the way to Kannap and opened his eyes just five minutes before arriving. He shaked his head and rubbed his eyes. Yeah, that was some good sleep. Eli decided to wait until the bigger crowd has left, before standing up and leaving the plane as well. Having gone through a security check and showing his paperwork to all the necessary officials, he retrieved his luggage. Eli, wearing a dark blue T-shirt accompanied by a pair of green cargo shorts and white sneakers, yawned and took a paper out of his pocket. On there, it was written that he is supposed to go and receive his Teacher ID upon arrival. Eli walked around a bit, until he found the place he was supposed to go to. As he looked around and saw one of the desks having a bunch of younger people around it, while the other one seemed to be vacant, he decided to go to the latter one. ''Excuse me, I'm here for the Pettersen Student Exchange. I'm a tad bit confused right now so... is this the right place?''

Port Stephen International Airport
Georgi have finally arrived from the airport, it was a very long and tiring straight flight from Stojamian Airlines, he had to drive all the way to Sofia International Airport and wait, then, he got a comfortable seat next to a young student on the plane , unrelated to the Student Exchange, Georgi managed to get some sleep in the flight and in the end, with his belongings on the plane, his ESP LTD MH-417 7 String Guitar and then he received his luggage outside of the plane, as he rushed up to terminal where all the students and teachers went to and went for the check in first and ended it quite faster than expected, after that he completely rushed fast to Terminal B. He then took out his 7-String guitar and played some calm tunes, making sure the Guitar is tuned, he was catching his breath and then went to the counter in which they ask his ID.

Port Stephen International Airport | Port Stephen, Kannap
Daniel Paora got off of his plane and quickly made his way to the terminal he was informed to go to. He made his way straight to the table where the officials were, without taking a look around the terminal. He'd seen many airport terminals in the recent years, they pretty much look all the same. He smiled and greeted the man at the ID table, where he noticed other students for the program were waiting to receive their IDs as well. David Petera disembarked the same flight and slowly made his way to the reserved terminal, where he took a look around and saw students. Most of them were in line for their IDs, but he saw one sleeping nearby.

David approached the sleeping student and tried to wake him, "Hello, are you here for the student exchange? You should go get your student ID made up at the table over there. I'd then recommend you mingle with your fellow students but I suppose you may go back to sleep if you so wish to do so."

ID Table Official
Patrick entered the name of the young man into the computer in front of him, he then entered the age of the student and the nation from where he was coming. He then nodded the young man towards the woman working the camera. Patrick then took the name of the young lady, Natalie, smiled when she said she was from Kannap, and then noted her age into the computer and sent her to stand in line to get her photo taken after the young man before her.

The lady finished taking both pictures and patiently waited while the ID cards printed. She smiled as she handed the ID cards to the students, not realizing that she had handed Viktor's card to Natalie and Natalie's card to Viktor. "Welcome to Kannap," she spoke proudly as she waved them off.

Patrick smiled as more students arrived at the ID table, first one student had showed up, another male student for the program. Then another male student arrived shortly behind him. Then another male student, who appeared to have a guitar along with his other luggage. Then a fourth male student arrived, Patrick guessed he looked Kannapian but couldn't quite tell, some of the foreigners looked similar to Kannapians. Patrick looked at the four young men in front of him, "Hello, welcome to Kannap. What nations are you from? May I take down your names and ages, we'll be taking your photos with this camera to my right and your IDs will take five minutes to be printed."

At the teacher table, one teacher had arrived shortly behind one of the students. He asked if he was in the right place and the lady standing behind the table nodded, "Yes you are, my name is Melinda Mayfel and I'm Director of Alumni Relations at Port Stephen University. Though today I'll just be printing your staff ID for you. I just need some information, your name, age, and nation of citizenship. Once I have those entered into the computer, we can take a picture of you with this camera to my left and that will also go into the computer. The ID then will take the information and photo and will take five minutes to print out. Anymore questions?"

ID Table Official
"Welcome to Kannap, Mr. Georgi."

Patrick entered the full name of the young man into the computer, along with his age and his nation of citizenship. He then directed the young man to the right and photographed him. "Okay, the ID will take five minutes to print now." After five minutes had passed, the man handed the ID to the student, "There you go."

For the first time, some of the students may be noticing a large section of the terminal with a large sign labelled "luggage." While students were to stay in the terminal and mingle with each other while waiting for the transportation to arrive to take them to the university, the luggage would be loaded into a truck that would also be going to the university. Students could drop off their luggage at the section of the terminal designated for luggage and airport staff would load the luggage into the truck safely.

Rai smiled as the man greeted them all and asked for their information. Rai didn't want to interrupt anyone, so he took a moment and let Georgi answer to the man, before saying: ''Hello, I'm Rai Hoani, 20 years old. From Togonistan.'' Rai smiled and stood there until Patrick was ready to take a picture of him.

Eli had a slight smile on his face as Melinda explained the situation to him. He nodded and said: ''Pleasure to meet you. My name is Eli Akiah, 27 years old, from Togonistan. Will be teaching musics.'' Eli smiled as he looked at the students at the table next to them, before turning back to Melinda.

Viktor Tõivonen

Viktor smiled warmly as he accepted the ID card from the woman before walking away to let the newcomers move forward and receive theirs. However before he could reach the food table he took a look at the card desperately hoping his picture looked nice. Official photographs rarely did. "Hang on....", he said out loud. The face looking up from the card was not his own but belonged to Natalie. Confused he searched the room until finding the girl in his picture. He walked over to her, assuming she too had noticed the mistake. "Hi, Natalie? I think we've been given each others IDs", he explained holding the small image outward to show her.

ID table official
Patrick entered Rai's name into the computer, along with his age and nationality. "Oh you're from Togonistan, that's not too far from here!" He smiled as he took the photo of the young man. He then patiently waited the five minutes for the ID to print and handed it to the young man, "Welcome to Kannap."

Melinda entered the teacher's name, Eli Akiah, into the computer in front of her and entered his age and nationality afterwards. She smiled, "Do you enjoy teaching music?" She asked after taking his photo and while waiting for his ID to print.

Natalie Kahurangi
Natalie had not noticed that her student ID was not hers, because she had not looked at it and instead just simply put it into her pocket. She'd have looked later and noticed the discrepancy but the boy who had his ID made with hers had approached her and greeted her. He informed her of the error and handed her the ID that belonged to her. She smiled, "Thank you, I hadn't looked at my ID yet so I had not noticed it was yours and not mine." She handed his ID to him, "There you go, glad that you noticed the error so quickly."

Georgi said quickly, "Thank you" and went off to his way, putting his luggage in his luggage section, only left with Phone and Guitar, he was ready to talk to some students.

Pål was awoken by the teacher's comment and darted up with a tired hmph. He mumbled a thank you at the man before taking his place in line.

Yuxanna responded to the request for the names just as instructed.

"My name is Yuxanna Heluq, I am twenty, and I come from Kihdis," he stated with that slight accent of his.

Patrick entered Yuxanna's name into the computer, along with his age and nationality. He also entered Daniel's name into the computer, along with his age and nationality. He smiled as he individually took photos of both students and waited the five minutes for the IDs to print. He handed Yuxanna's ID to him and Daniel's ID to him. He smiled, "Welcome to Kannap, Yuxanna. Welcome to Port Stephen, Daniel."

Patrick then noticed another student arriving as the other two left, he smiled, "Welcome to Kannap, what nation are you from? May I take down your name and age?"

Melinda smiled as the Kannapian teacher approached her, "Welcome to Kannap, may I take your name, age, and nation of citizenship?"

Daniel Paora
Daniel informed the man at the ID counter of his name, age, and nationality. The man seemed excited to see another Kannapian instead of a foreign student. Daniel thanked the man when he received his ID card and then turned to look around the terminal. He smiled at the student who had received his ID alongside him, "Your name is Yuxanna, am I pronouncing that right? What brought you to the student exchange and are you excited or nervous to be here?"

"Mmmmm, yeah, you've got it close enough," he responded.

"I've been to one of these things before, so I'm not too nervous. It was in Britonisea."

Pål made his way to the front of the line, as he woke up more fully. He didn't want the airport people to think that he was drunk just yet, that would be an embarrassment.

"I am Pål Myklebust from Storfjorden. Nineteen," he said the officials confidently.

Rai laughed and said: ''Indeed sir, the flight seemed like it ended before it had even started.'' He stood there patiently waiting for his ID to be printed. Once that was done and the ID was handed to him, Eli took out his wallet and put his ID in one of the credit card slots. ''Thank you sir,'' he said with a smile on his face. He looked around and noticed the luggage area sign. Eli headed there and let his bag fall on the floor. After that, he took a seat somewhere near Georgi. Eli took out his phone and checked on UltimaFace, before putting it away again. He noticed Georgi's guitar and said: ''Hey, that's a nice little thing you got there.''

Eli smiled and said: ''Oh yes, absolutely.'' He saw another teacher coming, so he said ''Well, we shall meet again later I hope,'' before leaving the desk and taking a seat. Eli took his phone out and put his earbuds on. After that, he took a sticker with Kannapian flag on it out of his pocket. Eli attached the sticker to his luggage, where one could see flags of various other nations already being on there. ''Welcome to Kannap, Eli,'' he said to himself quietly.

Viktor Tõivonrn

"Thank you", Viktor responded as the pair exchanged IDs. He was somewhat surprised she hadn't noticed the mistake immediately. Wasn't looking at things like that normally the first thing someone would do? Or maybe it was just Viktor who didn't it, something he doubted but didn't bother dwelling on any further. Fortunately the image on his own card was an acceptable picture after all, he was not expecting that. Then again it might have something to do with not being taken against a clinical white background. "So Natalie, you're actually from Kannap. What's it like here?", he inquired remembering seeing Kannapian listed as her nationality on the card before he returned it.

Daniel Paora
Daniel nodded as the other student said he'd been to an international student exchange before, in Britonisea. "Ah, I've never left Kannap and have certainly never been to one of these things. I suppose I was lucky to be selected, out of the many students who applied for entry, but I feel horribly nervous. Besides, I don't know anybody here, so that makes me even more nervous. Just not knowing anybody, it's strange, right?"
Natalie Kahurangi
Natalie smiled at Viktor after he asked what it was like in Kannap.

"I can't speak for the city, I've never been to Port Stephen before, but I hear great things about it. It's a beautiful city in all the pictures and I have wanted to visit for as long as I can remember. The nation is a great place though, wonderful people. Anything specific you'd like to know about? I understand you're probably curious and I might have answers for any questions."

Viktor paused briefly before replying, Natalie's question about specifics caught him off guard. He did have some questions at the ready though. For whatever reason it had slipped his mind that Kannapian students would be coming from other parts of the country too, and not just from Port Stephen. "What is the culture or society like here? I kind of read some things about the city but I wanted to leave some surprises too. Oh and you can tell me about your city as well if you'd like to", he suggested.

Yuxanna shrugged slightly.

"It isn't so bad, once you start talking to people around at least. I know I made a couple good friends at my last one," Yuxanna stopped before continuing on this line of thought. Maybe that isn't what the nervous kid wanted to hear.

"Don't worry so much about it, surely other schools wouldn't send any assholes to this, eh?" he asked with a smile.
