The meeting shall be held by the two parties in the Government Palace, at the city of Wilwatikta.

The Japanese delegation arrives for the meeting. The delegation consists of four diplomatic personnel and a delegation for the proceedings at the meeting.

After everyone gets on their seats, the meeting finally starts. Hans Joseph Schmidt, Chancellor of Paglaum, speaks:

"Good evenings, Japanese Representatives. As you're aware, the world is on a state of great turmoil right now." Hans spoke. "Part of South America is now under Japanese hands, Khumieres is on a state of rebellion, and both the spheres of influence in ATCO and the Caspian Alliance are threatening to engulf, divide, and isolate the nations of the Pacific. Unless we take action, together, to remedy the consequences of these events, we could have a major pacific diplomatic crisis in our hands. Something which neither of us benefits from."

After a while, the Paglaumian Chancellor continued.

"First, is the issue of Chile. We won't go over the details of human rights, cultural preservation, and national sovereignty, as those have already been discussed in no uncertain terms by other nations. Instead, we will go over the economic repercussions. Its conquest, by the Japanese Empire, has made our nation lose several millions of Paglaumian Pounds in revenue of trade. For centuries now, ever since the independence of both of our nations, Chile and Paglaum had vastly important trade route set between our two nations. One, we fear, is being affected by the current situation. Furthermore, we also fear that various Paglaumian businesses which had settled in the area could also lose important deals for both our people." Hans, the Billionaire Chancellor, spoke. It was no secret that his many of his smaller companies at Chile had temporarily closed or lost revenue due to this conflict. So had other Paglaumian companies.

"We're pragmatists in the Paglaumian Federation, before any ideals we might hold. We're aware that Japan has a well-established foothold on the area once known as Chile by now. We won't try to change this, as it would just further increase the ongoing crisis in the Pacific Rim. But we would like to find a mutually beneficial economic deal for both our nations, in this area of the South American Continent. If we were to arrive to a conclusion to this issue, we would be much more inclined to be the first nation in the world to officially recognise Japan's claims on the area."

(Oh, and as an interesting note, the Chancellor is actually speaking to the delegates in clear Japanese. Since Hans became fluent in the language when he lived at Tokyo for about five years, his wife who was born there has helped too.)

"Ok, I see the issue. Creslonia brought up a similar issue a while back. A news release was made a while back about this. Well, what trade items did you have? We can fix the issue and resume the normal trades, but we would need to know what was exported to your nation by Japanese America and what Japanese America imported from your nation."

"We are very much glad to hear that all trade shall resume as normal, and we shall forward all files regarding previous imports and exports between Chile and Paglaum, before the establishment of Japanese America. Would any Paglaumian businesses which had at one point settled in the area, be allowed to remain? Abiding by the new laws of course. Such as providing salaries to employees only in yen, paying the necessary taxes to the Japanese administration in America, and helping resolve the linguistic issue by providing employees with basic Japanese classes, if ever needed." Hans spoke, in Japanese. Good that the rest of the Paglaumians had a translator and had read the proposals beforehand. He owned a relatively notable mining firm at Chile, one he would like to keep if possible, as it was a nice little supplementary income. "This would potentially be beneficial to Japan, in speeding the progress of assimilating the locals, and letting them continue their employment."

Hans would, of course, need to have his own government compensate the other few Paglaumian Companies at Chile for the costs of teaching their employees better Japanese, and for the shift to yen. But it would be worth the initial cost for Paglaum. Chile was a small trade partner, but still notable.

The next issue would be Khumieres. If there could be a sort of military cooperation between Japan and Paglaum at Panama, and if Paglaum could continue business as usual in Chile. Then perhaps Hans could move on to his greater objective. The third issue. A response for the encroaching powers of ATCO and the Caspian.

OOC: I will need that list for my factbook.

IC:

"We will need those companies to submit the necessary paperwork, as the original paperwork for those businesses was lost when the archives building of the former government was destroyed, though if the paperwork checks out and if they follow the laws, they would be fine to resume."

Some businesses may not be able to operate, such as manufacturing or mining companies, as the mines were sold to Japanese companies to rush the mining sector back into service, and the manufacturing sector.....lets just say that little industry survived the war. The soldiers were a bit to thorough..."

OOC: I am not sure if the last two paragraphs in your post are spoken....

OOC: Will work on the trade thing soon enough. And the paragraphs aren't spoken, just what Hans is thinking or planning.

IC:

"Hmm, that is a shame, about the foreign mining and manufacturing companies. Though it is understandable." He'd have his lawyers discuss monetary compensation for the lost revenue eventually. That large mining company he had in Chile was really just a tertirary source of income for him. For now, he needed to focus on what was important.

"Whichever the case. The next issue we'll need to deal with, is the one about Khumieres." Said Hans. "I am aware that our two nations are supporting the same side. Due to this, we were wondering if we could strike some sort of deal to mutually cooperate in Panama and other areas. Most of our interests align in the area, so it would only be beneficial." A temporary military alliance in Khumieres. Hans hoped this could set a precedent of Paglo-Japanese Military Cooperation, for a future alliance.

"Help would be greatly appreciated. The Empire will talk to see if we can get an official group presence in Panama to help the Rebel government, United Republics, I think, is the name of their government. We do need to be careful. The Empire recognizes the rebel government as their rightful and only government, so we do need their permission for some of our activities, as Khumieres is a member of ATCO...The Empire does like the idea of having a cooperative military alliance of sorts for the duration of the conflict...."

"By the way, Paglaum proposed some 'Pacific Rim Alliance'....The Empire is interested in hearing more about that."
