World Grand Prix Championship Season 16: Signups (closed)

The World Grand Prix Championship is back for another season of high octane drama. The multiverse's best racing teams and drivers will compete for the sixteenth World Championship.

The World Grand Prix Championship has been going since 2005 and is Nationstates' answer to RL's Formula One, albeit with the drama turned up to eleven and the thousands of rules and regulations tossed casually into an icebucket. The WGPC follows reality's example just up to the point where reality becomes a bit boring. F1 banned things like ground effect, active suspension, smoking in the pit garages and a whole host of other things. This isn't the case with the WGPC. How a team builds a car is entirely up to them, and if it ends up upside down in a hedge on fire then that's their own damned fault.

Season 12, Season 13,Season 14 and Season 15 have been completed in recent years. Season sixteen is just around the corner.

The WGPC is currently in
The Signup Phase
The Negotiation Phase
The Regular Season

The season is in progress. Drivers can still be signed up, but their chances of getting a drive for the season are slim.

*Note: Due to Photobucket having defecated itself since last season, many images from previous seasons will be broken.

Every user may sign up a maximum of TWO drivers. Every driver starts off as a free agent, meaning they are not affiliated to any team. Drivers sign up to teams via roleplay in the RP thread, which will be created soon, though it's not unheard of for users to ask around the users who control racing teams (more on them later) to let them know you're available.

The more RPing you do with your driver, the higher your RP bonus. The higher your RP bonus, the faster your driver is likely to be on the circuit, the safer they are likely to be on the circuit, and the more likely a team is to sign them.

To sign-up a driver, fill in the following form:

NAME:
NAME TRIGRAM:
GENDER:
NATIONALITY:
NATIONALITY TRIGRAM:
PREFERRED NUMBER:
ABILITY: (Aggression/Technique)
BIO:

NAME is the full name of the driver. The driver may be male or female or any kind of sentient being. Want to sign up a pony? Or some kind of sentient wasp? That's fine, but do appreciate that IC regulations on driver safety, car weight, helmet measurements and general aerodynamic ability would have to be factored in. The WGPC reserves the right to punish sentient bees for not wearing the correct safety equiptment, even if said safety equipment would make it impossible for said bee to reach the steering wheel.

NAME TRIGRAM is the trigram for the driver's surname. A trigram is a set of three letters that represent a larger word. For example, a driver named Alexander Lund's trigram could be 'LUN' or 'LND', but not 'ALU' or 'ALN' because both of those examples use a letter from the driver's first name. It's the surname which is important. The only time a letter from the first name should be used is if two drivers share the same surname. A driver with just one name, for example 'Speedyguy', might have the trigram 'SPD' or 'SPE' or 'SPG' or somesuch.

GENDER is your driver's gender. If this is left blank we will assume the driver is a male human. If you've decided to go for a half-ape half-encephelapod, this is where to write that.

TRIGRAM is the driver's nationality. It should be put in the form of a trigram. This is NOT the trigram for the driver's name.
A TRIGRAM is the three-letter code that tells us what your nation is called. Audioslavia's, for example, is AUD.

NUMBER is your driver's preferred car number. This can be any number between 3 and 99. 1 is reserved for the current driver's champion. 2 is only availble to the champion's team-mate should they so choose. In the event that two drivers choose the same number, first preference will be given to any driver trying to retain a number they used previously. Second preference will be given to the first of these drivers to sign up for a team. Drivers who have chosen a number that has already been taken will be given a random one at the start of the season, unless they specify another number beforehand.

ABILITY is split into two sections: AGGRESSION and TECHNIQUE. Aggressive drivers are better at overtaking, while technical drivers are better at traversing the multiverse's more difficult circuits. Each attribute should be given a numerical number between 1 and 6 and the two ratings must add up to a maximum of eight. This is a change from last season.

You can increase your driver's A/T rating by RPing.

BIO is a short biography of your driver. His/her/its age, experience, hopes and aspirations, driving style, favourite sandwich, things like that.
EXAMPLE SIGN-UP

NAME: Alexander Lund
NAME TRIGRAM: LUN
NATIONALITY: Audioslavian
NATIONALITY TRIGRAM: AUD
NUMBER: 16
ABILITY: 4.5/3.5
BIO: Alec Lund shot to fame in Season 12 of the WGPC. Signed to the notoriously unreliable McPahan team, Lund struggled through accident after accident during the first half of the season, only to put a streak together over the last handful of races and, against all expectation, win the World Driver's Championship on the very final raceday of the season. Lund's form continued in season thirteen, finishing third, while the last two seasons have been unmitigated disasters for him, finishing twelfth in season 14 and fourteenth in season 15.

Alec is a racer at heart: Competitive on the track, if not the best at putting together the greatest qualifying laptime. His ability to race at pace while keeping an eye on his tires is wonderful, but while he shows consistency and bravery he doesn't quite have the raw talent and reaction times of his peers, and that difference has only accentuated with age. At 32 years old, Lund has announced that he will be retiring at the end of the season. He hopes to go out with a bang. Well, okay, not a 'bang', but a series of podium finishes would be nice.

Each user may sign up a maximum of TWO grand-prix circuits, and no more than one per nation (meaning one circuit from your main nation and one from a puppet is fine).

Signing up a circuit is not a guarantee that it will be used in the upcoming WGPC season. Spare circuits may be used for pre-season or in-season testing.

It is customary to provide an image of your circuit (no larger than 900 x 900 pixels, of course). Providing an image is mandatory for your circuit to become one of the 12 that will be used for the upcoming season.

To sign up a circuit, fill in the following form.

EXAMPLE SIGN-UP

IMAGE:
NAME OF CIRCUIT:
CITY/TOWN:
COUNTRY:
NAME OF GRAND PRIX:
TRACK RATING: (Ag/Tc)
QUALIFYING TYPE: (Trad / Two-Tier)
LAP RECORD:
LENGTH OF ONE LAP:
BIO:

IMAGE is a link to the diagram of your circuit. It should be a diagram and not a photograph, unless it's an aerial photograph that is especially clear

NAME OF CIRCUIT is the name of the circuit. To use a real-life example, Spa-Francorchamps is the name of the track used for the Belgian grand-prix.

CITY/TOWN is the name of the place the circuit is in / nearest to. For example, Spa-Francorchamps is situated near the Belgian town of Stavelot.

COUNTRY is the nation the circuit is in. Spa Francorchamps is in Belgium.

NAME OF GRAND PRIX is what the grand prix will be called. For example, Grand Prix de Quebec or Audioslavian Grand Prix or Gran Premio de San Jose Guayabal. The F1 Grand Prix at Spa Francorchamps is simply called 'The Belgian Grand Prix'.

TRACK RATING is, like the driver ability rating, comprised of numerical values. The first value is Aggressiveness. Aggressive circuits are wide with plenty of opportunities to overtake. The second value is Technical Difficulty. A track with a high TD rating suits more technically skilled drivers, and the circuit may be more difficult to overtake on. The numbers should add up to ten. (ie 4/6, 7/3, 5/5)

QUALIFYING TYPE was a new addition for season 14.
A single ninety-minute free-for-all in which every driver gets ten laps in which to record the fastest lap-time possible is known as the Traditional qualifying type, and if you would like your grand prix to use this qualifying type, say so in this field.

Two-tier is similar to what is currently used in formula one. In the first, fifty-minute session the drivers record up to six flying laps. The ten fastest go on to tier two, the slower ones drop out and will line up in positions 11 to 24 on race-day. In the second session, the ten fastest drivers record up to three flying laps over a twenty-five minute period. The driver with the slowest time of this period will start 10th, the second-slowest 9th and so on.

LAP RECORD is the fastest any grand prix driver has driven the track before.

LENGTH OF ONE LAP should be measured in kilometres. Tracks that are too long or too short won't be considered when it comes to selecting places for the racing season. Over 7km would probably be too long. Under 3km would be too short.

BIO is a short description of the track. You can provide the track's history and/or give a description of one lap around the circuit.

Oh, and remember the two usual rules: NO OVALS, and NO RL CIRCUITS.

NAME OF CIRCUIT: Crossport Raceway
CITY/TOWN: Crossport
COUNTRY: Audioslavia
NAME OF GRAND PRIX: Grand Prix of Audioslavia
TRACK RATING: (4/6)
QUALIFYING: Traditional
LAP RECORD: 1m 30.929s (R.L. Cruisin', Frontiere Racing, WGPC13)
LENGTH OF ONE LAP: 5.885km

The Crossport Raceway, Audioslavia's most modern grand prix circuit, has a long straight down to turn one, the so called 'turn of the century', a mid-length left-hander just deep enough to whittle a pack of 24 roaring cars to single file.

Approaching turn one at speed, the first corner can be coasted, with the ideal line being to kiss the camber on the inside before accelerating downhill and through Turn 2 before braking hard for the tightening right hander that ends with the 'Hammerhead' turn - a sharp right onto a long straight. The g-force from this can affect less experienced, or less fit, drivers

The corner opens out into the straight, up a shallow incline which levels out into a 10-degree left, followed by a hard, hard braking zone which puts extra pressure on the driver's neck. The car will judder to an almost standstill before it's fed through the turn as.

Knock corner hones into view through which most drivers will be able to coast without pumping the brakes too hard. Feeding the car through Hold and Loose without losing momentum takes some skill, before accelerating up Lund Hill. A big, steep climb with a slight right-hand lilt. The straight levels out for a few hundred metres before starting the descent down Bunn Straight - named after former McPahan Racing driver Roger Bunn.

Perhaps the most dangerous part of any circuit on the current WGPC calendar is the so-called 'Rail Tunnel'. It isn't technically a rail tunnel any more, and more a bridge. The track had originally been built to end just before it, but problems with the steep descent down Bunn hill meant that either the track had to wind back out and in again to negate the steep clim, or be extended just a little past the original boundaries. The edges of the bridge no longer pose the enormous safety hazard they used to, but the presence of a close wall at the far end of the corner still renders the corner extremely hazardous, especially coming just after the quickest part of the circuit. The wall would give an out-of-control car a long, grinding slide rather than a head-on crash, but it's a wall nonetheless, and even clipping a tire in the wrong place could spell the end of one's race.

Two slow right-handers come before embarking on the main straight. Cars should reach maximum speed (as they have already on Bunn Hill) before getting to the Turn of the Century once again
The following applications have been received. Only twelve will be selected for the Grand Prix season. Extra circuits may be used for pre/mid season testing.

Team sign-ups work a little differently compared to other sports. Team sign-ups are semi-open. Invitations have already been sent out to prospective teams, and it's expected that we'll have a grid of twelve by the time the new year rolls around. If not, then signups from this thread will be considered. Anyone is allowed to register a team, but if you haven't already been sent an invitation then you shouldn't get your hopes up for a place on the initial starting grid. We do always need backup teams in case something goes wrong, though.

Selection is based on the hosts' preference. Please also note that, unlike some previous iterations, there will be no test-driver slots.

Why so strict? The onus is on teams to RP well, for enjoyments sake as well as to reap the benefits of a decent RP bonus. Running a team in the WGPC is a large responsibility that should not be taken lightly. If you are newcomer to NS Sport, you probably shouldn't waste your time.

Users that RP well will find not only that their drivers go faster, but their teams perform better too. The combination of a well-RP'd driver racing for a well RP'd team will make for a very competitive team, though its worth stressing that, due to the random nature of scorinators, RPing well is not a guarantee of success, it merely improves your chances.

There is the possibility to remove teams during the season and replace them with one of the backup teams, if there is little or no activity from the user. All changes are at the discretion of the WGPC Committee.

To register a team, fill in the following form:

TEAM NAME:
CAR IMAGE:
TEAM LOGO:
RATING: (Acceleration/Cornering)
BIO:

TEAM NAME is the name of the team. For example, McPahan Racing, ENSADRINK GP, Red Bull Racing

CAR IMAGE is a 67px x 15px image of your car. It should be facing left. See these examples.

TEAM LOGO is a 250px x 250px image showing your team's logo. For example, this is McPahan Racing's logo

RATING is, like the ability sections for the drivers, divided into two numbers. 'Acceleration' is the team's ability to get the best out of the engine, while a team's Cornering ability denotes their ability to get the best performance out of their tyres, wings and the like. The reliability rating of a car will depend on RPing. RPing well may well decide just how reliable the pit crew are at changing the tyres on a car without accidentally setting fire to it.

Each rating can be a maximum of 6 and a team's total rating points can add up to no more than 8. You can increase your team's A/C rating by RPing.

Bio is where you write a little bit about your team. This should be no more than 100 words.

You should also provide a profile picture of your team's car. Your chances of getting offered a spot with a team increases dramatically if you can create, or find someone to create, a picture of your team's car.

BIO: 'McPahan broke out onto the international scene in WGPC12, picking up five of race wins during a 24-month period in which they would finish second in the constructors' championship twice in a row. WGPC14 and 15 would see the team fall further towards the back of the grid as competitiveness increased elsewhere, yet the name still commands attention; both for their tendency for tabloid drama and habit of building alarmingly quick, yet occasionally catastrophically dangerous, racing machines. McPahan's trademark blue and white fractal patterns are instantly recognizable on the track, whether upside down, on fire or both.'

Nexus Racing began as Project Overdrive, a military endeavour to overhaul the Nimban military’s multi-purpose armoured buggy. Meeting with only limited success, the project found new purpose when the Nimban Ministers for Sport and Science and Technology took an interest in the WGPC and set its team to the task of designing a racing car. Three-and-a-half years later, Ryker Lane was World Champion and Nexus Racing a force to be reckoned with. Now, a year on, the radical, Imagination-powered UHSGV-2 takes to the tracks of the world carrying hopes for a successful title defence - and maybe the Constructors’ too.

Hailing from the northern end of the country, near Mattijana's famed Kopylov InternazionRing, MRT made their debut in WGPC 14. Times were initially tough, with the first half of the season yielding little reward. Yet a driver change halfway through the season did wonders and MRT rose to a stunning second.
The result in WGPC 14 enabled team principal Johan Struna, to attract some bigger names, none other than WGPC 14 champion Terho Talvela and the experienced Moisès Delgado. Early season form was good, the team and Talvela top at the halfway mark, but a slump in form in the second half of the season allowed their rivals to catch up and a DNF for Talvela in the final race meant that both ended up third in the drivers and constructors championship.

Bitten Heroes returns to its second year, after a fourth place considered "promising" in the first season. Despite suffering from the adaptation during the first year, the team acquired a lot of experience, which is being used in the construction of the BH.2, car of the season.
Natassia Maud's team leaves the bodywork once again in charge of the KB, while the X-PRO Alpha2 engine is being "demonized" by SEIGEN DYNAMICS, Mikado Seigen, head of Team Ignis. Following Sunrisian collapse, BH is still looking for a new tire supplier.
Everything indicates that Bitten Heroes is coming for another year looking for the top!

Entering its second official season of competition, Arada Motorsport is structurally largely the same as the Dekijika-Tarogama effort that debuted in the 13th WGPC. Although Arada and parent company Dekijika Automotive have enjoyed much success in domestic Hodoran sports car and open-wheel championships, the closest it has come to replicating such results on the world stage was in its debut season under a begrudging alliance of convenience with domestic rivals Tarogama Motors.

The joint MSA-SinVal venture has had a very mixed history in the WGPC, having first started in WGPC12 and finishing bottom of the non-Works teams. It was so bad that the team sat out WGPC13 - for the best, as they came back and finished third, fighting for second for much of the season. But WGPC15 was a huge step-back, as the team were the last to score points, and only a late-season charge spared their blushes. The inaugural WGP2 championship saw MSA again finish mid-table. All-in-all, MSA are very much an allegory for most Eastfielder international sporting endeavours - meh. It's a very methodical approach from the MSA team, who value reliability above power (as provided by SinVal) - environmentally friendly, too, with GM-modified bioethanol fuel driving the team forward.

A formula car development program for stock car legends CERT saw lots of money thrown at it in the 2000s, but the team wouldn't have the same success as in other formulas and the program would eventually be scrapped for not meeting the high standards of the brand. With money leaving the stock car racing business, however, the top executives at Central Energy have restored the formula program after the entire racing team changed hands to the demanding Daniel Manzano, the heir to the entire Central Energy dynasty. Applying to the WGPC with a very unconventional car design: a result of the team's failures at home when using a traditional WGPC car...

After the huge success of Katara Racing in the inaugural season of WGP2, wealthy bussinessman Nick Newman decided to found a West-East Timorian based WGPC team. In Omni Racing, the multi-times championship winning team from WETEC, and the two biggest West-East Timorian car manufacturers, WETmotors and WETtech, he found the perfect partners for that. While Omni Racing don't have any experience in Open-Wheel Racing, they do have a lot of experience in prototype racing, and also have some great designers. Therefore, Omni Racing will develop everything related to the chassis. Additionally, most crew members as well as the team principal, Linus Anthonson, will be employees of Omni Racing, which is the reason why that name has been given to the project. Meanwhile, WETmotors will provide everything related to the car's power train, while WETtech will develop the electronics and Nick Newman himself will take care about the team's finances.

VMR is coming off of a hot year. In the first half, the team pulled silver in HGTC GT2 driver standings. During the inaugural WGP2 season, VMR led both team and driver standings from the first race through the last. It was a ridiculous feat accomplished by a reliable, balanced car and a dedicated team of drivers and crew members. VMR stresses a 'never give up' attitude, one that's proven to result in victory for other teams as well, over the years. New for the WGPC, VMR is introducing a state-of-the-art chassis, codenamed "The Dragon." They look to make waves.
Eleven teams are confirmed entrants to the new season. One spot may be taken by a WGPC Motorworks team (which would likely be WGPC Eelandii) meaning team signups will be for the reserve list of backup teams. Should one of the above teams drop out, one of the teams below may be called to take their place.

The following is not an extensive list of instructions. The WGPC reserves the right to demand changes to any proposed car.

Size and shape
WGPC cars must be similar in size and shape to RL formula one cars. The definition of 'formula one car' is a vehicle that competed in RL Formula One any time after 1970.
Maximum length of a car is 5.3m
Maximum width of a car is 2.3m
Maximum height of a car is 1.2m (not including on-board camera)
Minimum weight is a car is 600kg

Power
Inorganic
Electric engines are permitted.
Nuclear-powered engines are not permitted unless it can be proven (in safe conditions) that a catastrophic crash would not result in the circuit being unusable for the next four hundred thousand years.

Air may be used to aspirate engines, but the WGPC reserves the right to ban cars that attempt to use sails to take advantage of windy circuits.

Organic
Power may be provided by animals, but only if they satisfy at least one of the following conditions:
They have been extinct for millions of years and have been turned into oil by natural processes.
The animal may not be on the WWF's list of endangered species.
The animal must not be harmed or stressed by the ordeal.
The animal must be on the inside of the car.

Safety
There must be at least 30 centimetres between the driver's feet and the front of the car.

The design of the car must ensure that, if it were to be put upside-down, the driver's head would not touch the floor. The inclusion of an air intake behind and above the driver, coupled with a strong fin on the bonnet of the car in front of the driver, should be enough to accomplish this. The driver's head must not be the tallest thing in the car (not including wings)

All cars must include a seat-belt. The seat-belt must be able to be easily removed by a driver within two seconds.

All cars must include a removable steering wheel. The driver should be able to remove it manually within two seconds.

No part of the car may be wider than the wheelbase.

There must be no sharp objects on the outside of the car. Wings should be at least one centimetre thick.
Image

Season
The season runs, ICly, from spring to autumn.

25 points are awarded for a win.
18 for second.
14 for third.
10 for fourth.
8 for fifth.
6 for sixth.
4 for seventh.
3 for eighth.
2 for ninth.
1 for tenth.

The team with the most points, at the end of the season, will be the Constructors Champion.

The driver with the most points, at the end of the season, will be the Driver's Champion.

Teams may be added or removed during the season.

Teams may sign a maximum of two drivers.

A driver may not drive for more than one team during the season, with one exception: If his/her former team is removed, he may drive for the team that replaces the removed team.

Racing
Race length is between 295km and 305km.

Pole position will be on the inside lane of the track.

Intentional attempts to crash into other cars will result in a penalty for the driver.

Team instructions to intentionally cause accidents will result in a penalty for the team.

Pit Stops
Refueling is not permitted during the race.

Changes to the car are permitted during the race. EG: Changing tyres or parts of the bodywork.

The above rules are not extensive. Anyone who would like further clarification should send a TG to the WGPC nation. Official rules and regulations have been missing in recent seasons, so we're looking to build a working set of rules over time.

The roleplay bonus system will not be made public to ensure there are no attempts to game the system. We're happy to divulge the following information:

* RP bonus degrades over time. An excellent RP made before race two will earn a large bonus for race two, but a slightly smaller bonus for race three, smaller again for race four etc. The bonus doesn't degrade to zero, though, so an RP will always have a positive effect for all future races.

* Roleplays will be graded on the user's effort, creativity and editing skills.

* Due to the nature of the sport, there are no RP permissions in WGPC. You should expect your drivers and/or teams to be mentioned by other players. You may even expect other users to mention things your driver has said. HOWEVER:
* Whereas in, say, war RPing, a user decides which/how many losses to take after an attack, in WGPC a user decides how much blame or responsibility to take after an accident. You may RP that your driver caused an accident through their own poor or overly aggressive driving, but you may not write that another user's driver was at fault for an accident unless you have their permission. In general, making another character look stupid is not usually acceptable. If a driver is in their first season, it's probably acceptable to call them a rookie, or inexperienced, or possibly even naive if you're sufficiently careful, but refrain from calling another driver reckless or stupid or unskilled unless it's clear from the other user's RPs that this is the case.
* If you're going to RP a conversation between your driver and another driver, try to keep to the other driver's established characteristics.
* If you had your heart set on RPing your driver as having had a particularly violent and explosive accident, but another user decides that your driver retired in the pits due to engine failure, you may write your own version and ask that the previous RPer makes the appropriate change to their RP.

* Teams which contain drivers of two different users will be given a small bonus.

The season will start with the Negotiation Period which will commence on January 20th.

Hi Kalactin and Azadeshia. There's a couple of problems with your signups.

1: The name trigram should be three letters. It should be formed by the letters in a driver's surname (or, in the case of Singh where the surname may not be important, the first name).

2: The maximum points for a driver's aggression rating is 6. The maximum points for a driver's cornering rating is 6. The two numbers should add up to 8, maximum.

Cheers.

Enrique Vildemar and RSR's first season in the WGPC was not what they expected. With a combined 20 points total through the season it was a less than stellar outing from the team. Finishing third to last on the table teamwise what not what the group wanted, and it seems likely that they will have a fight on their hand to even have a chance to compete in the upcoming circuit.

NAME: Oliver Bliss
GENDER: Male
NATIONALITY:Taeshani
Name Trigram:BLI
TRIGRAM:TAE
NUMBER:14
ABILITY: (3/5)
BIO:Oliver Bliss turned out to be much better of a driver than much of the world thought during the his first campaign. He was part of a duo at MSA-Sinval racing that saw the young Eastfield Lodge team finish 3rd in the Constructor's Championship. The fiery young Taeshani went on to win his home nations top F1 prize and once against sets his sites on the world. While finishing a distant 9th, and 12 points behind teammate, Louis Krindle, in the last campaign Bliss seems ready to return to the international scene and once again prove to be the best Taeshani driver in the sport ever.

In his first season Oliver finished 4th in Eastfield Lodge, 2nd in Liventia, 4th in Mattijana, and 4th in San Jose Guayabal.

In his second season he impressively managed to not be impressive failing in most of the races, and only managing a low 14 points throughout the season. Some hubris on his part saw him, and his team rather unhinged from competing for much of the season.

NAME OF CIRCUIT: Fadron Raceway Park
CITY/TOWN: Fadron, Taeshan Island
COUNTRY: Taeshan
NAME OF GRAND PRIX: Grand Prix of Taeshan
TRACK RATING: (Ag/Tc) 3/7
QUALIFYING TYPE: Two Tier
LAP RECORD: 1:32:27 Oliver Bliss (Track Testing)
LENGTH OF ONE LAP: 5.140 Kilometers
https://i.imgur.com/4gU4EQK.jpg
BIO:Fadron Raceway Park was recently done after the end of the Taeshani season. In a nation often covered in ice and snow such as Taeshan you often need to redo, and repave tracks every other season. Long a part of the F1 and Nascar circuits in Taeshan the storied track took itself out of the rotation from both series to rebuild for two whole season which was a bold move by Track owner Colby Andretti. The former Nascar Taeshan champion was hoping to reinvigorate the track and bring back its former glory. Rebuilding the speedway was half of the fight with a push to also get the track international acclaim by hopefully winning a bid to put the track in the international F1 scene at least as a test circuit. Hopefully one day it will also return to an international Nascar scene.

The track used to be known for its wide open racing and little technical work, but especially in the push to make it an F1 racing circuit it was rebuilt to be more of a technical track. Oliver Bliss was at the forefront of this push behind his proclivity to get through tight turns, and hoped that it might give him even more of a homefield advantage if one day the circuit would get on the international F1 race schedule.

The starting grid sits at the end of the longest straightaway the Broadway straight which runs along Broadway in Fadron's eastern district, just south of the fabled Fadron Fieldhouse. Turn one is a left handed sweep into turn two which is a tight left hander. Then comes a double turn with a chicane in what to the naked eye looks like a longer area. Turn five is a big round one up into the Anderson Hill. At the top of the hill the cars make a sharp turn downward. Down through the slightly downward Cobalt straight the cars eventually take another left onto the Bliss Straight. The Bliss straight is a little shorter than the Cobalt, but has a higher downgrade than the Cobalt Straight. At the end of this straight is the Andretti Hairpin which is a right handed turn that forces drivers to slow massively into the Parker Straight which is the second longest on the track. This straight is high speed with little elevation change. Turn nine is a downhill straight where cars eventually go under the above track through the tunnel and into a sweeping right turn 10, which is shortly followed by an uphill turn 11. Finally after going over the tunnel two right turns sit between the drivers and the Broadway straight which goes almost all the way back to turn one before you make the finish line.

AWESOME I'M SO EXCITED

A few questions for Audio first, though:

I suppose the regulations are for RP purposes only right? So as to set a rough base for people to create upon?

As for the "avoid calling other drivers reckless, etc." bit in the RP guidelines, does that apply for RPing a driver getting pissed at another after, say, an accident? Are those words strictly forbidden in any context or can they be used "responsibly"?

And a quick note: the McPahan entry in the teams list has two season 14 results written down. Just a heads up.

I'll be signing up my driver and my circuit tomorrow :)

NAME: R.L. Cruisin
NAME TRIGRAM: CRU
GENDER:
NATIONALITY: Vilitan
NATIONALITY TRIGRAM: V&T
PREFERRED NUMBER: 51
ABILITY: 3/5

BIO: R.L. Cruisin is an experienced WGPC veteran looking to enter his 4th WGPC season. During the previous campaign, WGPC 13, Cruisin performed admirally on an under-power Frontiere Racing team, recording pole position in Audioslavia (New Lap Record) and the teams home race in Yttribia, as well a runner-up finish at the Grand Prix of Turori. More impressively, however, Cruisin was able to use his experience to outlast the field and take the checkered flag at the SinoCom Han Grand Prix.

Prior to that, Cruisin had second fiddle to Vilita & Turori Motorsports teammate and World Champion Stang Crax during WGPC 11. While Cruisin would win his share of races during the season, it was Crax who would take home the title for Vilita & Turori. Cruisin was elevated to the primary seat during WGPC 12 as Crax left the team, but suffered a drop in the standings, from 4th down to 9th place and a best finish of 3rd place at the Vilitan Mountain Challenge Course before the team went on a hiatus from WGPC vehicle production and its older vehicles fell out of spec.

During WGPC 14, Cruisin joined forces with Carvenlo-Franklin racing and while Cruisin slipped to 7th in the final drivers standings, During the course of the season, Cruisin claimed Pole Position in Krytenia, Aels and Dunpa while winning the Grand Prix of Liventia.
Cruisin has a strong following in Vilita and is likely able to attract corporate support from Vilitan affiliated entities.

PREFERRED NUMBER: 7

Short Biography: Klianiota has been a development driver with Vilita & Turori Motorsports who got their start in Go-Karting before entering the Saturday Night Late Model Ranks. Klianiota was teammate to Turori's iBen Toralmintii during NSSCRA 4&5 and NSFC 1&2. During NSFC 2 Klianiota had the distinction of setting a new track record during qualifying in 9 of the 10 events on the schedule.

After NSFC 2, Klianiota was named test driver for VIlita & Turori Motorsports and input there was valuable in leading the team to the WGPC 14 Constructors Title. Klianiota had a big opportunity to prove themselves with Novikov Racing during the World Grand Prix 2 season, opening as bookies favorite to win the championship. The Novikov team struggled out the gate, however, with a rash of DNF finishes many of which came in the first 5 laps of an event. The team ultimately overcame their reliability issues and the stars aligned at the season finale in Mount Salt where Klianiota finally realized the untapped potentially that had always been perceived, taking home the checkered flag and, perhaps, saving their reputation as a quality driver that sponsors may still follow in future competition.

BIO: Located in the picturesque region of Vilitan right overlooking the waters of Atlantian Oceania, the Vilitan Mountain Challenge Course was carved out of the Rocks on Vilita's Rockii Coast and offers a unique challenge to all drivers. Originally more of a wide-open high intensity speed park, The Grand Prix modification of the Vilitan Mountain Challenge Course was a new addition to the facility in preparation for its inclusion in World Grand Prix Championship 11. While Acceleration and Mechanical Power will be a great equalizer on much of the course, the Grand Prix boot designed by Turorian legend iBen Toralmintii mid-way through the course gives those with the ability to make maneuvers in tight spaces a chance to shine as well.

The course has long been a fixture on the World Grand Prix circuit and has additionally hosted an event during the Inaugural World Grand Prix 2 competition

BIO: The Eelandii Grand Prix was held for the first time during WGPC 13. The Eelandii Grand Prix Course opened just prior to WGPC 12 and held an official test session during WGPC 12 that served as a predecessor the the courses inclusion on the official schedule one season later. The venue has see-sawed between a sanctioned race weekend and a mid-season test event.

Eelandii, an officially unrecognized city according to the official map of Turori, is located between the capital of Almintora and the center of sport in Cednia. The city was stood up prior to the World Cup 63 Finals hosted in Turori with the creation of a brand new state of the art sporting complex for football and athletics known as Eels Park. Looking to expand Eelandii's reputation as a 'center of sport' for the Island Emirate, the Eelandii Grand Prix circuit broke ground following the completion of the World Cup 63 finals in the shadows of Eels Park, the home of the Turori National Association Football team.

While Vilita & Turorian efforts have been re-vectored to the new Tropicorp Racing Aelund project, it is believed that former driver iBen Toralmintii may still have the itch for competition and would be willing act as Team Principle of a works team once again if race day approaches with the number of available drivers outnumbering available seats...

NAME: Jasmin Kranjska
NAME TRIGRAM: KRA
GENDER: Female
NATIONALITY: Mattijanan
TRIGRAM: MTJ
NUMBER: 22
ABILITY: A=5.5, T=2.5
BIO: After a spell as unofficial reserve driver during WGPC 14, Jasmin Kranjska (pronounced Cran-Ski-A) took up a place as number one driver for the Petrovijanka Rally Team during the recent edition of the Gemini Games. Although the car itself could have been quite a bit better, Jasmin did impress, most notably on the final day of the season when she took a shock second place.
Kranjska was nominated as Mattijana's number 1 driver last season, but failed to secure a drive as Alex Dimitrianov once again found himself in the limelight. She is open minded with regards to potential offers and hungry for the opportunity to prove herself in WGPC.

The 25 year old's driving style is significantly more aggressive than Dimitrianov's, with inspired overtaking moves not uncommon and the occasional crash an occupational hazard. Her technique is her less controversial area for Mattijanans. She undoubtedly has class.

NAME: Alex Dimitrianov
NAME TRIGRAM: DIM
GENDER: Male
NATIONALITY: Mattijanan
TRIGRAM: MTJ
NUMBER: 42
ABILITY: A=2.5, T=5.5
BIO: Dimitrianov made a solid start to his WGPC career, winning in his debut season for the notoriously inconsistent SinoMotors team. He initially struggled in his second season but continued to out-race Oisinistani teammate Oliver Bachmann. Form improved with the team's fortunes after Bachmann departed, but Dimitrianov was outclassed by then-teammate Jessica Franssen.
A merciful change in regulations for WGPC 15 allowed Dimitrianov to remain in the field alongside the young talent Jasmin Kranjska. Initially signed for VMR, Dimitrianov left amidst the controversy that led to the team folding and joined Ethanian outfit Fireline, where he had a reasonable season, finishing 11th in the standings and picking up his second ever victory on the streets of Gracemeria.

Dimitrianov is known for less aggressive and some might say boring attitude, but will be hungry for success. His experience and skill, albeit mainly in the mid-grid, makes him a very useful driver, but he may need to take a few more risks if he is to break into the top 10.

The track is located where the large Burges flat joins the small group of hills known as the Rekvadas collection meaning the first half of the lap slopes upwards before turning back downhill leading into the final corner and the flat pit straight.

Despite more recent safety upgrades and renovations, the centre has retained most of its original stands, which offer superb views of the circuit, especially due to the inclines around the circuit offering natural banks to place stands on. The pit building has also been retained with a fresh coat of paint and a spruced up interior making it a suitable contrast between nostalgia and modern practicality.

It's mixture of straights, twisty sections and more sweeping turns means it tests all parts of a car and makes car setup an interesting dilemma come race day whilst the steep slopes and inclines also play their part in interfering with the car's balance during a lap.

Run off generally depends on slope with uphill sections having largely tarmac runoff with small gravel traps close to the barrier whilst downhill sections have a smaller amount of tarmac and large gravel traps to slow cars with more momentum in smaller spaces. The only tight barrier is on the exit if turn 13, but is a well-engineered absorption barrier and should protect drivers if needed, which it probably will be. In fact, despite a total of well over 150 collisions with this wall, the most serious injury ever sustained was a broken elbow.

The lap begins with a long run down to the breaking zone at the Čaluka hairpin which represents the main overtaking opportunity on the circuit. After exiting, the drivers must negotiate a left hand kink and drive steeply uphill around one of the Rekvadas before the track flattens out and goes into a tight left-right chicane. After that, the track continues upwards towards turn 5, a 90° right hander that immediately leads into another looser right hander.
A good exit from that section is key as the track immediately goes downhill for a longer period of time towards the multi-apex Hollesbirjke turn, named due to it's similarity to a turn at the country's main alpine sliding centre. This turn is a big test of both a driver and a car's turning ability and once again, exit speed is key as the track once again slopes upwards towards turn 8, another long and flowing hairpin.
Another long downhill section leads into another very good overtaking opportunity into the 9/10 chicane which continues down into a tighter hairpin at turn 11. Any indication of the track slowing down is however vanquished, as drivers are encouraged to drive flat out through a high speed chicane with a barrier tight to the exit.
The track then goes into the slowest corner on the track-a tight right hand hairpin before a straight and than a flowing right hander to finish the lap.

Full list of corner names:
1: Čaluka hairpin (named after the hill it's situated under).
2: Čaluka sling (commonly known as the sling).
3/4: Vischkolcha (Fishook chicane).
5: De Šumma (The summit, named because it is the highest point on the circuit).
6: Da Ausfleck (literally translates as 'the flick out').
7: Hollesbirjke (named after Mattijana's famous alpine sliding centre).
8-9: De Sava (the river: named due to it's flowing nature).
10: Erstglaub (named as it is the first time cars can be seen from the pit straight after turn 2).
11: Ezelhöchlas (cliffhanger, named as it's run off is on an artificial platform to deal with the steep slope).
12/13: Wasserkirjke (The waterslide).
14: Da Lebjalupa (survival loop, named as it comes after the most risky turn on the circuit at turn 13).
15: Kranjagrad (named after the village this part of the circuit is closest to).

NAME: Rustom "Rusty" Ibuna
NAME TRIGRAM: IBU
GENDER: Male
NATIONALITY: Filindostani
NATIONALITY TRIGRAM: FID
PREFERRED NUMBER: 99
ABILITY: (2/6)
BIO: The son of Sangtian/Barangayan driver Rudolf Ibuna. His mother, a full-fledged Filindostani, was a secretary of a Kissan Motorsport (KISMO) executive who had looked for opportunities at the then-named Aji No Moto. He grew up racing karts in Aji No Moto, fully sponsored by the KISMO team. He's a talented driver who quickly learns the track in a few sighting laps, though he has a problem in overtaking racers, as he's generally always play it safe rather than end his race. However, he has no prior experience of racing outside Aji No Moto, or now known as the Ajian Empire, so that might affect his chances of landing a seat in a team this season.

He will be looking to drive for eny team if his sponsor, Kissan Motorsport fails to make the WGPC grid this season.

Bitten Heroes GPE retain its A-license for one more year.

Lisander Autosports Board (The LAB) presents these applications to WGPC.

Image

Drivers who received an A-License from LAB (Lisander Autosports Board) to drive in WGPC are:
NAME: Juliano Lemos
NAME TRIGRAM: LEM
GENDER: Male
NATIONALITY: Lisander
NATIONALITY TRIGRAM: LIS
PREFERRED NUMBER: 5
ABILITY: (Aggression/Technique) 3,4/4,6
BIO:25 years old. WGPC 15 4th-place in final standings. Juliano Lemos returns to its second season, Looking forward to going much further.

With or without negotiations, he is the pilot # 1 of Bitten Heroes, and evidently will not accept any offer, after all, he is much more than a driver. It is the face of the team and his pre-contract has extremely advantageous terms.

Lemos is a technique driver, but after the first season in WGPC, he is a little more balanced (not enough to say he's a completely balanced driver), and his aggressiveness as a driver is evolving by little.

NAME: Lourdina Westgrens
NAME TRIGRAM: WES
GENDER: Female
NATIONALITY: Lisander
NATIONALITY TRIGRAM: LIS
PREFERRED NUMBER: 7* (possibly 17)
ABILITY: (Aggression/Technique) 5,1/2,9
BIO: Westie is doing THAT again. Adam Westgrens is supporting its daughter, Lourdina, in the WGPC. After an 11th place in WGP2, she isn't satisfied yet.

WHO IS LOURDINA WESTGRENS?

Lourdina is called the Iron Brat. Driving karts since age 10, she's known for being very aggressive. Her father, Adam Westgrens, is a rich man who loves motorsports and does not care about how much money it will take to place his little girl in a major series. She developed great skills at the cost of breaking several cars a year.

She's very fond of Juliano Lemos, who was her team chief in WGP2. Unfortunately, not even all the money of Westgrens' would be enough for Natassia accept her in BH, who isn't interested in an inexperienced driver.

*OOC: I know number 7 clashes with a previously signed entrant, but Westgrens is a stubborn driver, and won't give up the number until the WGPC assign her a new number. But considering that she may not even get a contract, you do not have to worry about that for now.

NAME OF CIRCUIT: Circuit Grandeville
CITY/TOWN: Grandeville
COUNTRY: Lisander
NAME OF GRAND PRIX: Grand Prix EON Lisander
TRACK RATING: (Ag: 5,6 / Tc: 4,4)
QUALIFYING TYPE: Traditional
LAP RECORD: 1:29.443
LENGTH OF ONE LAP: 5.413 Km

BIO:Grandeville is a city in the mountain. Down the mountain, near River Grand, in the outskirts of Grandeville Commune, the Circuit Grandeville is the last thing you see before that road sign "You are leaving Grandeville".

CG, as commonly called, is a circuit known for its contrasts. Long straights and gentle curves like 5 6 and 9 come as a prize to brave ones who endure the hards 3 and 4, square 6 and closed 7. It runs counter-clockwise. Circuit de Grandeville was completely remodeled with funds from EON, the major technology enterprise of Lisander, and will serve as Base to the lisanderian WGPC team.

Start/Finish line is in the main straight, the Grandstand. In the remodel, the grandstand and Paddock changed places. You can see a more detailed graphic of the circuit clicking here. The first turn, to the left, is still easy. After it, the cars pass under a suspended walkway where people can see it with a beautiful angle. The second turn is the opposite of the first and leads to first braking point, the turn 3. After it, the turn 4 keep the engines low before turn 5 and the Reta Oposta (Opposite Straight).

Reta oposta isn't a straight, but a easy and long turn, allowing even turnovers and battle for positions. A long dive to square 6, a turn composed of three small turns, make cars get together again. The turn 7 brings a slight climb, and again a long curve appears. The 8 is for keep the pace and get in the right way. No one wants problems to itself in the inclined 9. Turn 9 differs from the Reta Oposta, because the terrain is inclined, making cars pass in opposite stand inclined by near 8°. G-Force is strong in this point and any misposition can cost a race or even more.

At the exit of the curve, full throttle again over the open curve 10, until the last close curve. You can make it going to boxes or to the Grandstand again, to complete one of the 54 laps of the race.

NAME: Sigur Bjarnason

GENDER: Male (human)
NATIONALITY: Savojarna
NATIONALITY TRIGRAM: SVJ
PREFERRED NUMBER: 7 (second preferences: 14, 91)
ABILITY: (Aggression/Technique) (2/6)
BIO: Sigur Bjarnason, aged 23, has grown up on the island of Ejana, but moved to Vestrholm early on, where he started karting with six years. Early on, he proved to be one of the biggest talents in the sport, and as usual in Savojarna, his first contact with car racing was rallye. He drove through the Sumanen forests with 15, when he won the Savojar Junior Rallye Championships. Shortly before he was set to compete for the defense of his title as the favourite to win another Junior Championship, one of the leading teams of the nation contacted him to drive the Rallye Norderholmen, with the big guys. Bjarnason replaced the injured former champion Kari Pakarinen, who saw his talent and kept coaching him when he was fit again, and with age 18 he was the youngest driver in history to stand on the podium at the Savojar National Rallye Championships in Sumanen. In the following season, Sigur won his first top tier event when he beat his mentor Pakarinen in the Rallye of North Sumanen. His to-day biggest success was the victory at the Rallye Ejana, one of the four traditional Major Events of Savojar Racing. When the Savojar racing association decided to enter a driver into international Grand Prix racing, they invited the best drivers from all kinds of racing, and Sigur Bjarnason proved to be the best. His technique is very good thanks to the tough rallye school he had gone through, but there are questions whether or not he can deal with the change from a rallye environment to GP racing.

OOC: I would also like to bid with a circuit, but idk if I manage to create a good bid until the start of the season, so maybe that gets moved to next time. If I manage, I will write a new post if that is fine.

Team: MSA-SinVal have successfully regained their spot in the WGPC, after procrastinating long enough on the design of their new car.

NAME: Cesaro Whittaker
NAME TRIGRAM: WTK
GENDER: Male Human
NATIONALITY: Eastfielder (Eastfield Lodge)
NATIONALITY TRIGRAM: EFL
PREFERRED NUMBER: 31
ABILITY: 3/5
BIO: The 19 year old broke through the ranks in the domestic karting scene, where he was famed for his consistency as opposed to his outright pace, not winning much but finishing most races high in the points. He was set to be MSA's lead driver in the WGP2 last season, but was forced out of the team by the more talented and flashier Dalia Dahl. Spurred on by this defeat, he went and scored nearly double the points that Dahl did, with 2 third-place finishes and 5 top five placements in total from the 12 races. He matured greatly over the course of that season, having shown that through a brilliant third place finish in the highest level domestic formula, and some pundits think that he could be a big name in not too many years hence. Still expected to play second fiddle at this point though.

NAME: Dalia Dahl
NAME TRIGRAM: DHL
GENDER: Female Human
NATIONALITY: Eastfielder (Eastfield Lodge)
NATIONALITY TRIGRAM: EFL
PREFERRED NUMBER: 63
ABILITY: 6/2
BIO: Now 23, Dalia Dahl was originally considered to be the brightest young prospect since Louis Krindle came onto the scene, and the two are very much from the same school of motoring - screw driving carefully. Dahl came out of nowhere as she finished second behind the famous Victoria Gardner in the domestic series, scoring multiple victories and podiums, and many of them comebacks after her own mistakes (a signature of her driving style). That ... didn't work in the WGP2 series, as she only managed to finish in the points twice in what was an underpowered car, although she did win the second race of the season in Audioslavia - just one 7th place finish and 5 DNFs saw her finish with the lowest amount of points of any race-winner. Wants to be the main driver in a team, definitely needs an experienced consistent driver to balance her out though. And deep pockets from multiple sponsorships should help cover some of the cost of car replacement.

Image
Grand Prix Name: Grand Prix of the Imperial Commonwealth
Lap Record (F1/WGPC Car): 1:21.954 - Louis Krindle (Qualifying, WGPC14, MSA-SinVal Racing)
Track Rating (A/T): 5/5
Qualifying Type (Traditional or Two-Tiered): Two-tiered

Description: Located a few minutes from one of the biggest cities in Eastfield Lodge in both sporting and population terms, Mount Salt Raceway is a relatively new (less than 15 years old) purpose-built circuit, and became the show-piece event for every domestic motorsport calendar. The track is a blend of quite a few high speed corners and long straights - the kilometre long pit straight is one of the longest in Eastfield Lodge - but there also plenty of slow corners to test the cars and the drivers.

Starting just after the halfway point of the start-finish straight, the tight first corner is far enough away for the field to spread slightly, but needs precision to carry speed up the hill to the second corner, where the drivers will find a mirror image of the first corner. A short straight before we reach the Turn 3 hairpin, where the prevailing wind can scatter a fine layer of salt, originating from a salt plain near the mountains, over the corner.

Passing through the chicane (Turns 4 and 5), we come to the hardest section of the circuit; a long climb up the hill on a long left hander, before taking a sharp left at Turn 7. The combination of the hill and the wall close to the inside of the track results in drivers being more or less blind until the last moment before turning, making for some good action for crowd to watch. The wall on the exit of 7 is a recent addition, and yet another crowd favourite.

The track then levels out as the drivers take two right handers at Turns 8 and 9, before taking the long right hander at Turn 10 back down the hill and braking hard for turn 11. Little braking needed for Turn 12, and then it's down another hill, before reaching the Turn 13/14 chicane before the pit entry and the last corner, after which it's a 0.5 km sprint to the finish line.

Usually, the weather in the region is pretty dry and sunny, often with a stiff breeze as noted above - that WGPC13's race weekend took place nearly entirely in the wet was a bit of an anomaly.

Note: Where there isn't a gravel pit or a wall indicated, you can assume it's a tarmac run-off for the corners and grass/turf for the straights.

The car modification scene is big business in the Empire and Jang helps sell that lifestyle. VMR has signed him, hoping for big things, but will settle for the popularity that comes with him. His family is one of the Asian clans that came to Vangaziland in the late 1800s. Vannish Motors Racing is trying to appeal to that market, as they are staunch consumers in the Vannish tuner scene. He went pro for the first time at the inaugural season of the WGP2. He would stun the world by winning the Driver's Cup and helped VMR win the Constrictor's Championship. It helped him find a sponsor for WGPC 16.

QUALIFYING TYPE: (Trad / Two-Tier) Traditional
LAP RECORD: 1:45.19
LENGTH OF ONE LAP: 3.901km
BIO:
The Jump
Start - Turn 4
The starting straight doesn't go for long before tossing the field into a set of switchbacks. Starting at Turn 1, the drivers pull into a residential neighborhood with old homes dating to the late 1800s. Tall oak & maple trees flank the track, just behind the temporary barriers.

The Boulevard
Turn 4 - Turn 6
There are a collection of shops, mostly family run small businesses. The drivers will pass everything from jewelry outfitters and clothing boutiques to candy, ice cream and fudge shoppes.

Commerce Row
Turn 6 - Turn 7
The shops turn more commercial. Some time after turn 6, the road will cut through the mall, with a walkway crossing right over the course. Advertisement banners will hang over the track, mainly for Vannish Motors, Vann-Bands, Royal Imperial Brewery and other companies who will pay top dollar. The trees fade away into a concrete jungle of office space, the banking industry and condominiums.

The Hub
Turn 7 - Turn 10
Still within the commerce zone, drivers will pass by several transportation centers. There are large bus stations near turns 8 and 10. Turn 9 bends around a train station with 1940s art deco styling.

The Parklands
Turn 10 - Turn 14
Between 10 and 11, the road will slightly dip down in elevation. The trees return as this road cuts through a large urban park. Passing 11, the road picks on more of a "Main St." feel, with residential neighborhoods visible beyond this road of small shops and services.

The Parkway
Turns 13 - 16
The road opens up and finds itself away from homes and businesses. This is where the street connects to a parkway, which leads to the main city Emeros, of which North Emeros is a suburb. There will be car dealerships, gas stations and other services seeming to cater to travelers. Turn 13 is called 'Lucky 13'. On that turn's outsde corner is a 250 foot bronze statue of 'Lord Emerott' a figure from the 1500s, of which Emeros is named. After reaching the straightaway, the road leads back to the large, ritzy homes. More modern homes fill the row before the jagged streets of Turns 1-4.

NAME: Sergiu Zamfir
NAME TRIGRAM: ZAM
GENDER: Male
NATIONALITY: Zukovinan
NATIONALITY TRIGRAM: ZUK
PREFERRED NUMBER: 65
ABILITY (Aggression/Technique): 6/2
BIO: Young, charismatic and aggressive, Sergiu Zamfir is Zukovina's most famous racing driver. Aged just 24, he's been well known in the Zukovinan regional circuit since he was 16 and supported by his current team (Trasnet Racing) since he was 14. For the past 3 seasons, he has won the ZPOC (Zukovinan People's Open-wheel Championship), an achievement which has never been accomplished before and which has been a source of great annoyance to his team mate Marius Cojocar. Blessed with raw pace, speed and talent, on his day Zamfir could potentially beat anybody in the world. His driving style is decidedly aggressive, racing with little fear (an attribute that has won him seemingly lost races and unfortunately often end up in the wall). He often overtakes from seemingly impossible positions at improbable speeds at unthinkable places. All of this makes him quite the driver on his day. However, his hot temperament and reluctance to be a team player have made him a difficult driver to have on your team and led to unnecessary incidents. Being one of the first Zukovinans to enter into the World Grand Prix Championship, Zamfir carries the expectation of a nation on his back. How this will effect him is yet to be seen but one thing is guaranteed - whether he wilts or flourishes under pressure, it will be exciting.

NAME: Marius Cojocar
NAME TRIGRAM: COJ
GENDER: Male
NATIONALITY: Zukovinan
NATIONALITY TRIGRAM: ZUK
PREFERRED NUMBER: 84
ABILITY (Aggression/Technique): 4/4
BIO: Marius Cojocar is everything Sergiu Zamfir isn't - experienced and calm. Aged 33, it may appear that his best years are behind him. However, his performances against his much younger (and faster) teammate Zamfir prove that this may not be correct. True, he lacks Zamfir's aggression, reaction times and overall speed. But he more than makes up for that his consistency, willingness to be a good teammate and craftiness. Known for stalking drivers for several laps before making his move, Cojocar manages to race at a quick speed whilst never endangering himself. This racing intelligence has been cultivated by over 10 years in the hot seat of Zukovinan motorsport. Before Zamfir's sudden rise, Cojocar had been dominating the ZPOC for several years, winning 4 championships in the process for Trasnet Racing. Zamfir and Cojocar's rivalry has been a constant source of entertainment in the ZPOC over the past 3 years, with various incidents causing huge amounts of drama. Since Zukovina had been isolationist and an international pariah for the majority of Cojocar's career, this is the first time he's been able to enter the World Grand Prix Championship and it's fair to say he is equally excited at the prospect of driving around the world and at the idea of finally escaping Zamfir.

Excited to see this return! Had a great time in the last one even though I joined a bit late. :)

NAME: Stella Ivarsson
NAME TRIGRAM: IVA
GENDER: Female
NATIONALITY: Vulkan (from Vulkanas)
NATIONALITY TRIGRAM: VLK
PREFERRED NUMBER: 4
ABILITY: 4/2
BIO: Stella Ivarsson is the next great hope for Vulkanas in motorsport, with a promising set of results in the junior categories. After dominating the karting and crosskart championships in Vulkanas, Stella quickly graduated to Nordic Lands regional championships in single-seaters. She won several junior categories in her rookie season and earned a reputation for ambitious but often well-executed lunging manoeuvres, however could sometimes bite off more than she could chew, with gravel traps being the result. Since competing at a world level in lower formulas Stella has become a bit more experienced and reliable, but hasn't lost the creative driving style that sees her pull off tricky overtakes from far behind, finding herself able to account for poor qualifying performances with great race pace. She had reasonable success in WGP2 with a few stellar moments, but unfortunately could not deliver the consistency desired by many of the WGPC teams to obtain a testing or reserve role. She always got on well with her whole team, often staying late as the crew worked on the car overnight, and carried with her an aura of morale. It was always Stella's desire to compete at the highest level, in the WGPC, however the opportunity did not come to her immediately. Instead she has spent the past couple of seasons gaining experience in endurance and sportscar series with moderate success, and more recently has taken on a brand ambassador role for Ångström Electric, a Vulkan manufacturer of electric vehicles (think Tesla), helping to boost the appeal of motorsport and cars in Vulkanas. Now at 23 years of age, and with some government financial assistance with the new city circuit in Vulkanas, Stella is sure that she will be able to win over a team and secure a drive with the promise of her magical one-off race performances despite a lack of lap-on-lap consistency.

This should be an exciting challenge for drivers, who must traverse the bumpy, often narrow streets and sharp turns of the city, and brings the magic of the WGPC to Vulkanas for a weekend, with many events planned around the race.

The cars will set off from in one lane of the road going through the picturesque Kanslersparken, with the other lane used for pits with a temporary building put in place. After a short run from the line, the first two corners are a series of roundabouts, a unique feature on the WGPC calendar which should challenge both car and driver.

What follows is a fast yet curving section of track as the drivers head onto the motorway. This should be a true test of the raw speed and downforce of cars and the bravery of the drivers who must decide whether to risk going flat out despite the sweeping corners. Fans should see and hear the cars flash down this section, which at one point goes down into an underpass tunnel. Next the drivers must negotiate a brief crossing to the other side of the canal, with two smooth turns separated by a short straight.

Once back onto the central island of Rykinsvik, traction will be tested with three 90 degree turns in quick succession, which will force drivers to be patient else they may run out of grip and face the barriers. This section may favour the immediate torque delivery of electric and hybrid vehicles. A sprint down Kejserligavenyn follows, which will see drivers cross back over to south Rykinsvik and into Kanslersparken with a sharp hairpin before returning to the finish straight.

The Rykinsvik city circuit is a short but high-speed track but, thanks to its street-circuit nature, remains highly technical and testing for man and machine alike.
The Ångström Electric Grand Prix of Vulkanas is sure to be a race to remember!
