The Great War
"The day of the Mengus Caugus was one of beauty, but was followed by hell and lead by the Devil's disciples."
The "Mengus Caugus" meteor shower is where it all started. In 1872 the "Mengus Caugus" meteor shower, and the largest ever to occur hit the nation of Anapoltania, the massive empire was in ruins following the shower. Cities in the nations mainland were in ruin as if a war had come apon them, the economy was in ruins and inflation made the currency worth less than the dirt itself. As the political situation worsened the people grew unfaithful in the Tzar and his government. The revolution boiled over and the people rose Fascism took hold of the government of the shattered empire, and over the course of the civil war that went from 1877-1985 many of its former colonies revolted from imperial rule or fell under the government boot. As the civil war went on the colony of Anavokia revolted with a workers uprising and the formation of a communist empire. When the war did end the nation of Anapoltania seemed as it would fall, but they managed to rebuild, the war had given the economy the boost it needed. The new government scorned that powers from all over the world. The fires of war billowed in the Anapoltanian state and the world chose it sides. Anapoltania formed the Axis powers and Anapoltania and its allies seeked to dismantle the empires that shunned them or opposed them , what was to be an ideological struggle became a war of imperialism.
"The comet was told to show beauty and all it lead was a conductor in the symphony of destruction, then in the aftermath the world turned against us in our time of need, now we must take what is rightful ours."
The comet crushed the Anapoltanian empire, its economy in ruins, and the world just watched. Larger powers carved up the empire, and the king was deposed in a violent fascist revolution that spread like wildfire. The Military Junta called for help to rebuild the empire, both foreign and domestic help. The once ruined country flared to life the cities were built and the factories echoed once more with the clanging of machinery. What had just begun was a reckoning for the nations who refused to help those who disobeyed international treaties and the Anapoltanian empire will rise ever stronger
"The Empire shall stand as it did yesterday, and the day before as it always had, for tomorrow and the next thousand years."
TheThe Grande Republic 0f Arcadia and its empire one of the largest in the world and one of many in its time. The Arcadian empire spanned across the globe and when Anapoltania fell under civil strife the Arcadian Empire seized the opportunity like many other empires and moved to fund rebellions and uprisings. When Anapoltania bounced back and grew the Arcadian Empire was one of the first on its hit list. As the first shots were fired on the ANS. Pride a navy frigate which was sunk off the coast of the Arcadian Raj. Soon the gears of peace turned towards war, a war that would engulf the world. The Arcadian Empire now facing enemies all over the globe in defense of the empire, in defense of her people the Empire turned to war.
"A divided nation is no longer acceptable, we the people must rise against the warlords to a better world and a brighter tomorrow"
The plains tribes of Vilhalan were recently unified under the military leadership of Immortan Jim, the charismatic leader and legendary general. Signing deals with The Grande Republic 0f Arcadia for weapons and supplies, Immortan Jim had raised one of the best trained, equipped, and led armies of the time and in a series of decisive battles against inferior opponents seized control of the entirety of the Vilhalan plains to declare the formation of the holy empire of Vilhalan.
Now, in debt to The Grande Republic 0f Arcadia for their military aid, Vilhalan must find some way to make an economy out of an undeveloped swath of plains. Perhaps the most economical path would be to simply acquire some industry from a neighboring nation . . .
"The State of the Union is all we have and must be preserved through peace and through arms, I would never damn my worst enemy to a life without the Union"
The last years of the 19th century were not easy ones for the Green Union. The depreciation of her once wide reaching navy, a narrowly avoided worker's uprising . . . and now the 20th century is threatening to be worse, raising questions about whether the newly reorganized "people's kingdom" will survive long enough to realize its new place in the world. The tides of war are stirring across the sea, and a new republic's rise in the Vilhalan plains threatens unrest closer to home.
The Green Union may be geographically isolated from direct invasion, but she is still a small country and painfully receptive to the international climate. If Placeoderms falls it is unlikely that she will last long with a less friendly nation on her southern border, so now is the time for her to stand tall and punch in well above her weight.
"With expansion comes the need for arms, ship, and tank, and the boots to operate them."
On the turn of the century, 1900, William Merrives finished his speech and looked at the endless parade of Emerstarian soldiers onto various ships docked in the harbor of York. The Emerstarians having began their colonial empire under the rule of King Eric VI in 1457 now controlled one of the largest and most powerful colonial empires of the day. These 20,000 soldiers, the IV Colonial Division were being transported to Frejil, a chain of islands in the north and part of the Emerstarian Commonwealth. A rebellion had risen on the island of Dvojir, threatening its sister islands, as well.
"The guns they will soon wither and stop and the fallen can be buried. The war had taken so much from us and soon we will prevail in the end"
The Sevevill Conarian war was nearing the end. Sevevill to the joy of the emperor. Sevevill had dug in the same year working down the Conarian soldiers who had also dug in. As the morale in both armies was being worked down more and more. Sevevill had started to overpower their weaker opponent while still receiving heavy casualties. As more and more soldiers on both sides were getting killed Sevevill continued to fight. Ending the war in late 1907
