A Duchess in the Desert (Closed)

Postby Kyrenaia » Mon Nov 27, 2017 2:39 pm

Hello and welcome, dear reader, and welcome to A Duchess in the Desert!
This is a closed RP between me and AHSCA - you are very welcome to read along, though, if you want. In fact, we would feel honoured by it.

So, have fun reading!
Kyrenaia

Utica International Airport, Kyrenaia.
Day 1 of the State Visit of Duchess Valetta of the United Islands States to the Sultanate of Kyrenaia.

Princess Dschamilla bint-Fadi, a woman known as the Flower of Fenchu, a Princess of that Ilkhanate, exhaled deeply. She was a small bit nervous, she had to admit, as she was to welcome the visitor from the far-away United Island States in the Sultanate. Utica International was closed down for that purpose, checked, checked again and then checked yet again by the Handshar, before journalists had been allowed to set themselves up, before it was checked yet again, with security of the Special Police Force being provided.
She herself had only been checked once. After all, she was a Kyrenaian Princess and her dress wasn't exactly leaving much room for concealed weaponry. The blonde woman, her blonde closer to silver then actual blonde, with silver-blue eyes and the sharp face wore a form-hugging, black silken dress (with not too much of a neckline, but enough to hint at things, and a slit at the skirt's side to allow her freedom of movement), which emphasized her built, feminine yet slightly athletic due to her being a practitioner of equestrian sports. Her hair was combed, but not styled and that was for a reason: Wind and weather were unpredictable at Utica International and already, her hair was in a bit of disarray.
Nothing that could not be tamed with a graceful move of her hand, wiping a strand of hair behind her ear.
She stood at the runway, awaiting the plane carrying their guest, standing at the beginning of a red carpet, where she would welcome the guest and then would lead her through taking the salute of the two formations, one each of the Armies of the Five Deserts and the Sultan's Navy, both ten soldiers strong and dressed for ceremony, before she would be transported through Utica to the Azure Hall in an open carriage.
Behind her, the cameras waited and already transmitted the happenings on Utica International into the world, photographers were snapping pictures left and right, civilians were on the observation platforms of the terminal to cheer for the guest and welcome her like it was usually reserved for rock stars – and Dschamilla knew, how they were welcomed, she was a rock fan herself, after all.
Only a few minutes remained, signalled by a pair of fighter jets of the Armies of the Five Deserts passing over the airport at a low altitude, their roaring engines deafening to the observers.
The vanguard was already there and Dschamilla knew, that the plane carrying the Duchess and her delegation was already under escort for a long time now. In a few minutes, they would arrive.
She exhaled again, smiling as the two fighters began a bit of an intricate dance in the air, showing off a small air show over Utica International to entertain the crowds, surely earning a reprimand from their commanding officer later.
Dschamilla, on the other hand, did not have that luxury to be entertained. She was here on a mission of vital importance, chosen to accompany the Duchess during her visit as a guide and a bit of an aid, while a man of the Tabardariyya was their bodyguard. He would join them in the afternoon, but that was to worry about later.
There was even a programme for both the Duchess and her little sister, which would see them apart for a bit (not everything the older of the two found interesting would be of interest to the other one, naturally), under the care of someone other then Dschamilla.
The two jets finished their show as the plane carrying the Duchess arrived, two other fighters at its wings, which broke off well above ground.
“Time to shine.”, Dschamilla mumbled to herself and gave a confident smile.

Aboard their airplane Duchess Marcella Villa, Second Duchess of the UIS, and her younger sister, Lady Gisella Villa who had to twist her dear elder sister's arm to allow her to come along as she so rarely got to travel. Marcella nearly made it a family affair by asking her mother and father to come along but both felt they should have fun on their own and they'd enjoy some "alone time" with each other. Marcella loved her little sister but all siblings have their moments where they can't stand each other. Still, having her along was nice. Aboard this plane was also their Foreign Officer, Noir VinoCacao. She wasn't going to escort them beyond the trip to the airport but she felt it'd be best she brief them on the country they'd be visiting.

"It's all very simple, Your Grace nothing too difficult."

"There's so much to remember though."

"Just relax and be yourself and be friendly. That's the best for you and they'll take to you just fine."

"I'd really feel better if you were coming along."

"I'd like to, Your Grace but I have to be Mokastana by next morning. Not to mention they invited YOU, not me. I'm just the Foreign Relations Officer."

"And you are invaluable. Are you more concerned about them being prejudice to you?" Not that Marcella was to make rash judgements about a group of people she hadn't met but still, people like Noir faced a lot of discrimination overseas which made it hard to do her job at times. Noir lost a bit of her composure, she could tell Marcella was genuine in her concern.

"N-no, not at all, Milady. If I felt that I'd have asked to reconsider the trip. But our close allies are important to us. And as you have been personally invited to this nation, I'd be rude for us to put this off. The Mokans will understand." she smiled

Marcella glanced at her sleeping sister who was muttering in her sleep "Mmmm...Steamed fried rice, salted pork...encantador."

"Hehe." she pulled the blanket up on her "What's our ETA?"

"About 3 hours more, Milady." she was told. Marcella didn't fly often but she loved the comfort, speed and convenience of it. Those three hours passed in the blink of an eye for them as before too long they arrived, guarded by a pair of jets noless "All this for us!"

Noir also looked at two members of Marcella's court, her guards. Asuna, a member of The Scarlet Knights, the unit in charge of protection of the royal family and direct guests of the royal family. And Sayaka, a member of Cerulean Knights, generally they were more for protection of diplomats but Sayaka was personally asked for by Gisella and noone can deny the request of The Young Mistress.

"I'm counting on you both. Keep them safe, keep them out of trouble." it's the same mantra they were told always.

"Yes ma'am." they both replied in unison.

"Duchess, we've arrived. Do your best, that's all anyone can ask of you."

"I will. You as well, Noir." Marcella was usually informal with her staff, she liked simply addressing them by their names. Gisella woke up from her long sleep "Yaaaaawn" she stretched "Oooh, hey sis! Are we there?"

"We're here, you sleepyhead. I was worried you were still going to be asleep and you'd be on the flight to Mokastana with Noir."

"Aww you wouldn't leave your dear little sister behind like that, would you?"

"Mmmmaybe!" She teased with a smug grin on her face.

"Aww you're mean! I don't get to go overseas as often, and I've seen Papa's homeland plenty of times!" She did enjoy Mokastana but she was right, other countries she hadn't seen much of. "By the way, am I going to have to stick with you the whole trip?"

"Not planning on running off are you?"

"No of course not! I just mean, I was hoping I'd get a little bit of a tourist mode with my trip while you get all the diplomatic work."

"I'm sure we can work something out." When their plane came to a nice easy stop, Noir retreated to the cockpit to speak with the flight crew while Marcella, Gisella, Asuna and Sayaka all prepared to disembark. Marcella came in her formal attire, the one she wore for her state portrait and wore to Assembly of Congress, Gisella was more "casual" wearing what looked like a schoolgirl's uniform. It wasn't an official uniform it was something she liked to wear when she thumbed through foreign magazines. They had their changes of outfits they could wear through their trip but it was good to have a solid first impression. "Honestly, you look like you're a schoolgirl."

"Of course I do, that's why I bought this uniform! Should I have just come naked? Could be like Chief Ayla wear a bandeau and a sari" she joked

"Ayye" Marcella sighed a bit, Gisella was Gisella after all. She took her younger sister's hand and out the cabin door into the bright sunlight they stepped. What a lovely place it was from the quick look. It was hot but dry, they were used to more humid conditions. "Big city" Gisella looked around in awe

What a lovely place it was from the quick look. It was hot but dry, they were used to more humid conditions. "Big city" Gisella looked around in awe

Dschamilla smiled as she saw the two standing in the door of the plane, stepping forth into Kyrenaia's hot sun - and it was as if a squeal of delight at the cute Lady Gisella in her schoolgirl uniform went through the observation deck of the terminal. Dschamilla had to admit, that she was cute as a button.
Her eyes, however, were more focussed onto the older sister, Duchess Marcella. As expected, the Duchess was regal, older, maturer in her appearance - yet, Dschamilla couldn't help but shake the feeling, that there was another, less-official side to her. One, which her sister would know of, much like she herself could claim to know her Mother and the Ilkhana, two different persons sharing the same face.
Yet, Dschamilla thought she heard someone mumble something about a big city, the younger sister looking like she was awed. Indeed, Utica International belonged to Utica, a metropolis of around fifty million people in the entire metropolitan area, which alone was larger then some countries, so "Big City" was a slight understatement.
Time to play my part., Dschamilla thought as the Sergeants of the two formations of soldiers called their men to attention and to present arms, which they did with a precision that made them look like robots.
Dschamilla bowed her head, deep in respect for the Duchess and her little sister and made a step back to allow them to walk down the gangway to the ground, while cheers rose up - not to mention the clicking of cameras as journalists made sure to have as many pictures as possible of the occassion for the history books.
"Welcome, Your Majesty.", Dschamilla spoke as soon as the two had solid earth underneath their feet - or asphalt, as the case was. "Welcome to Kyrenaia - in the name of the Sultanate, the five Ilkhanates and the people of this country, I welcome you here. May the Winds carry a cool breeze and water to the UIS for the rest of all times." For a short moment, she winked at Gisella, a smile on her face. "And welcome to you, too, young Princess. May your stay be less of boring diplomacy and talks to stuffy old people then your sister's."
The airport was informed about the jet's need to make a trip somewhere else, hence why the two escorting fighters were not breaking off to their base, but currently refuelling in the air, making themselves ready to escort the plane again, out of Kyrenaian airspace, as a show of courtesy.

The sisters gracefully waved to the crowds that cheered just as they would their kinsmen back home. "Didn't expect there to be so many people already to see us." Gisella said to her sister.

"Well that's being royalty and nobility for you. This is why I wanted you to be more formally dressed."

"If it makes you feel better I brought it along, I can change later." Gisella too had a formal dress for such events as these or special galas.

"At least for a few of our photo-ops then you can wear what you please. Promise." She smiled and with her sister's hand in her grasp they made way down the stairs onto the red carpet to meet their hosts. Their two guards loyally stood behind silent, stoic and observant of the crowd.

Marcella bowed a little to respond to the greeting given to her. "Thank you and thank you to The Sultana for bringing us here, hosting us. On Behalf of the UIS I'm thankful and grateful for the generous hospitality given here."

Gisella giggled when she was called Young Princess, close to her official title of Young Mistress and of course being wished a enjoyable and entertaining stay "Hehe, thank you so much! I like to leave the politics to my big sister."

"See as I promised you, little sis, you'll have some fun while here." Marcella told her. Even if it was Gisella who pestered her sister to come along she was who she was in the end.

"Oh, I also hope it not troubling that two of my own Royal Guardswomen came along." Marcella gestured to the two ladies behind them. "Of course we trust you'll have more than ample security for us. It's a formality if anything. Oh further, I have a gift to give to the Sultana, if I am able to give it personally."

Dschamilla nodded, giving the two guards a quick look.
"Of course, they are allowed to accompany you - in fact, they are welcome to do so, most of the time.", she said and gave a smile to both the Duchess and her little sister. It should have been covered by the Foreign Ministry, the thing with the personal guards... Vizier ben Sahid would get a reprimand. "You'll meet the Sultana shortly. In fact, she looks forward to meeting you two." She gave a quick glance at Gisella, who, although she was not wearing a formal dress, looked perfectly suited for what was ahead of them today. Dschamilla's smile said, that the younger one was not only right in her decision, but also would have fun... there were a few things already arranged for, but the two of them did not need to know that. "If you would please follow me?"
Dschamilla turned on her heels, both Sergeants yelling a command again, their soldiers bringing up their rifles, holding them by the stocks to form a sort-of tunnel with their rifles, bayonets attached and glinting in the sun.
It was a gesture of respect, a salute by the finely drilled soldiers.
The red carpet led into the modern terminal building, the crowd's cheer becoming louder and louder the closer they got - indeed, banners were on display, reading things in English like Welcome to Utica!, Peace be with you! or, Dschamilla's favourite, Your commercial could be written here!, people were waving flags as well, of the city, of Kyrenaia, of the UIS, proud to be there to welcome the two guests from a country far away, as they took the salutes of the Sultanate's Armed Forces and of the Utica International Airport Fire Department, which stood at the ready with eight of their vehicles and forty men in firefighter uniforms.
Meanwhile, Dschamilla explained to the guests: "We'll go into the terminal for a bit of a refreshment and from there, we'll take a horse-drawn carriage with escorts to the Azure Hall, that is the Sultana's palace, where you'll meet her formally before the court. I recommend to withhold the present until you are having lunch with her in a more private setting." She smiled. "Don't worry, it won't be boring, I promise!"
Which of the sisters the promise was directed to was up for interpretation, but she actually meant both.

"Ah terrific, I'm truly looking forward to meeting her as well. After all we female leaders are something special!" Marcella continued to be the prim and proper noble waving to the crowds that came to greet them. It was surprising still, AHSCA wasn't paid much mind to in the world beyond being simply THAT group of islands. Backward, primitive, paradise, beautiful all used to describe them. "Ah the gift, I did grab it right?"

"Fear not, Your Majesty," Asuna said "We have it on us."

"Ah thank you. Oh refreshment sounds lovely. Gisella I'm sure is hungry she was muttering about food in her sleep."

"Aww gee, I was?" It was a bit embarrassing and she blushed a little.

"Hehehe, I know when your hungry, Dear Sister."

"But wow, a horse-drawn carriage! Sounds like so much fun!" Gisella nearly leapt in the air in excitement of the prospect of taking a carriage.

Dschamilla's smile widened at the excitement of the young Princess, finally reaching her eyes. The young Princesss sure reminded her of her own siblings, Atif and Karim, who were 21 and 17 respectively, back when they had been of that age.
Sadly, both were not here: Atif was doing his military service and Karim attended a foreign school.
"It is fun!", she replied and grinned, "Expecially when you get not a nice, flat street, but a curvy one and the driver is someone, who knows his business, driving with joy and speed!" She made a small pause. "My father loved to drive carriages and race, he took me with him often enough as I was younger. And my brothers, too!"
They approached the terminal at a steady pace, but it was quite a bit of a walk, so it would take a minute or so still.

Marcella's attention perked up more "Oh, you have siblings too, huh? Oh and your papa and brothers were they professional carriage drivers? I imagine though, you must simply use them for recreation here though."

"Either way, sounds like a lot of fun!" Gisella cheerfully replied.

"My Father...", Dschamilla said, a bit of sternness creeping into her voice as she stressed the 'Father', making it clear that she wished that her Father was referred as such, as every other Father was to be called Father respectfully (bad enough, that this uncouth girl Aurelia got away with calling hers 'Dad' all the time), "...indeed was a carriage racer, a very special kind of people, and he sometimes took my brothers or me on spins, when he had the chance to. However, we three stayed away from them without him." She gave a far softer smile. "I am not good with carriages, you see? I prefer either riding the horse myself, and am fairly good at it, or taking a car. Can't drive a carriage to safe my life."
Without Dschamilla even realizing it, they had already entered the terminal, the airlock-like entrance allowing them passage inside so that the cooler air inside stayed inside and not went outside, where it was hot. But the building's interiot was cooled, to manageable levels, which allowed for a sigh of relief to escape the native. Although she was used to it, born in this climate, did not mean, that she didn't enjoy the Kyrenaian summers.
Quite on the contrary.
The positions, where usually migration and tarriffs would be handled, as well as other necessary jobs on an airport of entrance, were empty today, mostly, if possible, set aside, to allow for a free welcome in the structure of glass and stone. Where the tables were not to be moved, they had made the virtue out of necessity, placing cooled water, snacks and flower arrangements on them.
Kyrenaian classics were on the tables, honeyed aubergine and cheese breadsticks featured prominently.
Quite a few people were present - half of them wore lamellar armour above of a padded tunic, their faces covered by a neckerchief for the lower half and a helmet for the upper half, heavy, long-shafted, fear-inducing combat axes on their shoulders, while they stood still as statues. The rest were guests, around a dozen people, in uniforms and, in two cases, in armour.
They applauded as the two guests crossed a line drawn onto the ground and onto a large mosaic, that covered the main hall of the terminal. "Now, you're formally in Kyrenaia.", Dschamilla explained, a smile tugging at her lips, "Welcome, again."

"Ah forgive me, Your Father." Marcella corrected herself with a humbleness. To herself she also thought to herself, I guess they address their parents more formally here. Respect for parents was important but mama and papa were the usual common way to address parents. She had to snap herself back though to make sure she listened to what Dschamilla was saying to her. They continued their steady pace into the terminal when their eyes befell the bountiful spread laid before them. "My my, you have gone to such trouble for us, we appreciate it so much!" Marcella said.

Their two guards that had been following in their wake, Sayaka and Asuna kept their composure but both flinched a little on the inside seeing the guards around them. But standing firm and stoic they continued their duty. Marcella stood in place a moment. "Well then, it's good to at last be in Kyrenaia" Marcella proudly said.

"Miss, if I may ask, who are all these people?" Gisella inquired.

"Miss, if I may ask, who are all these people?" Gisella inquired.

"The pleasure is ours, Duchess Marcella.", one of them, a gentleman in a green dress uniform, replied, bowing his head. A short glance hit Sayaka and Asuna, but not with malicious intent. He nodded to them, very slightly, one man of the law acknowledging two others. "Major Mahmut Nara, Utica Metropolitan Police." His introduction was accompanied by a charming smile, from a weathered face of a man filling his uniform very well, lean and fit, his face of a sharp cut. "May the winds bring cool breezes and water to the United Island States."
The other two people in his conversation group bowed their heads as well at the formal, respectful greeting.
One was a girl, maybe 16 of age, not as sun-kissed as a Kyrenaian, but definately having a nice smoochie of the sun, her long, blonde hair bound back. Her blue eyes sparkled like sapphires, her smile shone like the sun as she shifted slighty. She was armoured, a half-cuirass definately not of Kyrenaian origin, above a gambesson, tassets at the sides of her hips and heavy horseman boots, while her arms were protected by a pair of vambraces. On her hips sat a quiver and a bow-case, both filled, and a Kyrenaian sabre. Those knowing a bit of the matter at hand would recognize the armour as one worn by a Selkie-Marcach, which narrowed down the possibilities about who the person was quite a bit.
The other person with the police officer was a man in his mid-thirties, sun-kissed like a Kyrenaian was, black hair and the shadow of a beard around his chin, dressed in a very fine suit, which did not hide the fact, that he was more then he seemed - far more, yet not dangerous.
"We would be honoured, if you would join us, Marcella-Duchess.", Nara continued after the traditional greeting.

Meanwhile, Dschamilla extended her hand to Gisella, offering wordlessly to take her to the tables, where the food was, that a young girl needed to eat to grow big and strong... and water, that she would need to survive.
"The people with the axes are Tabardariyya, the guards of the Ilkhans - and yours, during your stay here, in addition to yours.", Dschamilla explained, with a softer smile - ever since her parents had two more children after her, she had a soft spot for children. "The rest are a few people of importance, who want to welcome you two. Many have business around here having to do with your sister's and your arrival here. Major Nara, for example, is responsible for the security at the airport for today."

"Major, it's a fine pleasure to meet you." She gave a curtsy to him "Thank you so much for working to keep my sister and I safe. And I wish the blessings of Light upon this fine country." she moved along almost in a line to a young lady with a impressive bow. Actually she'd almost look right at home in AHSCA, maybe even their friends in Tempieland.. Not as tanned as some of the others, maybe she was from abroad or maybe this place was like AHSCA, some with fair complexion and some with darker. "And pleasure to meet you" she greeted her even though she hadn't gotten her name.

"It would be my greatest pleasure to join." So many years of formal practice and training, Marcella was a natural at being very formal and polite with her title. Royal Demeanor was very important even in AHSCA.

"Oooh" Gisella nodded her mouth open in a sense of awe and wonder but also with a tone of understanding what was being told to her. "Well no doubt between your guys and our gals we're safer than any place in the whole world!" she shot a big grin. "Big sis though, she's gonna have her hands full with so many important folks to be talking with!"

The three smiled as, indeed, the Duchess joined them in their conversation.
"The pleasure is ours, Duchess.", Nara said with a small smile, "After all, you're around the age of my own daughter." He cleared his throat a bit sheepishly. "Now, then...", Nara said and looked into the group, a smile on his lips, "...I believe, introductions are in order."
The other two, the man with the stubble and the girl, exchanged wordless glances, before the girl in armour sighed. "Ladies first, then? Fine.", she stated in a calm voice, turning to Marcella and bowing her head, her tone a whole lot friendlier and decidedly more cheerful, "Aurelia bint-Damir, Princess of the Ilkhanate of Utica and Lieutenant of the HGA's Rider Squadron."
The man took the stage next, his bow having something more formal, tight. "Captain Ilia Jamkiya of the Chandschar. It's a pleasure to meet you, Duchess. I heard many things about you." The tone he used to say that last bit belied, that he heard many things - and that this was his job. The Chandschar was the most important intelligence agency of Kyrenaia after all. He added a bit for Aurelia: "And indeed, Ladies first."
The Princess allowed herself a small snort.

Dschamilla had giggled at Gisella's proclamation of this being the safest place on earth, as she had to agree: The list of places, which would be safer at the moment, was relatively short.
"It won't take too long, I can promise you that.", Dschamilla said as they arrived at a refreshments table, filling two cups of clean, cold and fresh water. "Many of them know, that we are on a schedule and that your sister needs to drink something before the journey to the Azure Hall."
She gave both cups to Gisella. "One's for her.", she whispered to her and winked.

"Lieutenant, what a nice pleasure to make your acquaintance." Marcella replied to Aurelia "Or should I address you as Princess, Your Grace?" She'd already fumbled once she didn't want that again with a first meeting. First impressions are everything and you only ever get one. "Captain, a pleasure to meet you. I hope it's all good things you've heard of me!" she gave a polite giggle.

Gisella watched her sister greet and mingle with the important people of the room but also kept her attention on Dschamilla. "Well that I'm happy to hear. I know my big sis has very important things to do as Duchess but it's still nice when she can find time to be with me. We're sisters and we're peas in a pod together!" When she was given the cup of ice water she nodded. "Marcella, you need to keep your throat clear with as much talking as you'll be doing and this place is hotter and drier than home, right? So be sure to drink"

"Thanks, Gisella - wha-hey! Who's the big sister around here!" she teased Gisella giving an affectionate rubbing on her head.

Captain Jamkiya allowed himself a moment of amusement. The intelligence person indeed heard mostly good things about Marcella - but he was not paid to judge if something he heard was 'good' or 'bad'. He was paid to analyze the data he got and make a picture, in this case of the UIS' Duchess Marcella. One, that needed him to meet her.
What a polite young woman., he thought to himself, as his eyes fell onto Gisella, And with a well-mannered little sister, too.
Nara smiled, openly, the two of them reminding him of his own daughter, in a way.
Aurelia, too, smiled, as she spoke: "Just Aurelia is fine, Marcella-Khana. The Lieutenant is more a position then an actual rank and Princess is reserved for more official matters, outside.", she explained, throwing a glance to Dschamilla, who shook her head in disapproval.
It was no secret, that the two Princesses were not exactly fond of each other, on the contrary, but they were professional enough to not bring that up here as there were very specific reasons for that.

"Well then, Aurelia it is! And you can call me Marcella as long as we can be informal with one-another. Don't you think?" She smiled her wide beaming smile she gave, a smile that was said to melt the harts of anyone. It was her mother's after all.

Aurelia gave a grin back, her heart in the process of melting, while her grin spoke of vibrant life and joy, a certain heartiness, that could embrace a person and, even when thousands upon thousands of miles apart, still hold comfort.
"Alright, Marcella!", she said and extended her armoured hand, her grin still on her face, "Glad to meet you!"
She threw Gisella a grin, too, extending the offer to a more familiar behaviour to her as well, at least in private - or as private as one could get in their position.

"And of course the little scamp who has followed on my heels is my little sister, Gisella!" she gestured slightly at her sister "And I know we're both glad to meet you as well! Now I haven't eaten anything all day so I'm going to help myself to something delightful." she gulped down the glass of water given to her and picked up a plate. "Though what do you recommend?"

Aurelia grinned at the 'little scamp'.
"Pleasure to meet 'cha!" she said and extended her gloved and armoured hand to ruffle the smaller girl's hair, then thought better of it - that would only lead to problems, when her hairdo was ruffled. No need to ruffle a certain other Princess' feathers too much. Instead, she placed the hand on her shoulder, giving it a small squeeze. That done, and hoping to spend some more time with her later (as Gisella really seemed like a nice and cheerful girl, exactly up Aurelia's alley), she turned to Marcella. "I'd recommend the cheese breadsticks, Duchess."
"Really?", Nara said with a raised eyebrow and a smile, "I must admit, that I thought of you more as a honeyed aubergine fan, Princess."
"Alternatively, Fattousch.", Aurelia continued, giving Nara a look that only made him grin wider. "The bread salad."

"Well to be quite honest much of my diet is pretty limited to fresh fruits, rice and fish so I'm pretty open to trying other exotic foods." She hovered over taking just a bit of everything for her plate to try. "Well, I don't know about you big sis, but I for one want to try these cheesy bread sticks" Gisella boldly proclaimed

Aurelia gave her a bright, dazzling smile, as she led Gisella to the buffet.
"Oh, they're nice - ideal if you want to make a long journey or just need something to bridge the time between breakfast and lunch.", she told Gisella, before leaning down, "Ideal for long school days. But if you are a daring young woman, you'll have to wait until dinner..." The glint in the eyes spoke of mischief. "...we spice very, very well."

Even Dschamilla had to smile at that. The spiciness of Kyrenaian food always surprised foreigners, who sometimes left with thrid degree burns in their mouths - or a feeling, which came close to it.
Regardless, she turned to the Duchess. "Go ahead, Marcella-Khana.", she asked of the other woman, "It's a while until lunch and it'll be much to do." She smiled a small smile. "If I may say so, Princess Gisella is awonderful child. She reminds me a lot of my little brothers, when they were of that age."
A moment later, the smile was gone.

"Oooh spice! Now you're speaking my language! Still no time like the present, just means more to enjoy later."

"Trust me when I say, Gisella is a bottomless pit." Marcella giggled at her sister's expense for her hearty appetite "She truly is wonderful as a sister though. This much is true."

"But sis..." She said between bites "Is really great too! She was--nice enough--to let me come along after all."

Dschamilla nodded.
"That she is.", she replied to Gisella - before a light blush coloured her cheeks. She coughed into her fist, before she cleared her throat.
Aurelia didn't leave her time to correct her statement, though, as she spoke to the two guests: "Oh, bottomless pits are always welcome! The cooks will have a blast and Mahmut can finally ask for fourths without feeling awkward because he's the only one!" She looked up to Nara, who was motioning to his wristwatch. Aurelia smiled sheepishly. "But I'm afraid, that we need to hurry up a bit..."
"Indeed.", Dschamilla said with a nod, her blush under control, "Though, a child that eats well, grows well." She motioned to herself and smiled as she did so. She had eaten well as a child. "And it will be a bit until lunch, that much is true."

"Ah that's exactly as our mother says." Marcella nodded at the saying. "Of course, I'm sorry if we're dawdling along here." she made quick work of her plate along with her sister so they may get along soon.

"No, we must apologize.", Aurelia said with a small bow of her head, "We planned the schedule a bit too tight."
Dschamilla nodded, as she, too finished a glass. "Aurelia, you might get the happy news to your part.", she told the younger Princess.
The blonde nodded. "Of course. I'll see you in a minute.", she said to the two guests and grinned as she rushed away.
Dschamilla breathed a sigh of relief as the younger Princess ran to her duty during this welcoming, a little surprise for their guests. She was not exactly a fan of Aurelia and her informality and warmth. Regardless of that... "Your mother is very wise. And I can guarantee you, that you'll eat well." A small pause. "Are you two ready?"
