A beginner's guide...

Welcome to the WorldVision Song Contest, based on the Eurovision Song Contest, aiming to provide and unite nations from different parts of the World through music. The WorldVision Song contest is an outlet to showcase the popular or native music of your nation. As with every contest, there are a few simple rules and regulations that you'll need to follow.

 1. To start, you must sign up for the contest. Do so by using the form below and posting that you sign up in this thread. Make sure you sign up before the cutoff date. You won't be penalized if you sign up and don’t end up posting a song. You then post the song in the IC thread after a host vote (see previous contests to see what a "normal" post looks like).
 2. At the end of the host bidding period, all nations which have signed up at that point may vote for the nation that will host the contest. Instructions will be posted by this account, and all host votes should be telegrammed to this account as well. The winning bidding nation will then create the IC thread.
 3. The contest is based upon the Eurovision Song Contest: nations will "perform" their song. No real-life song can be entered into the WorldVision Song Contest; of course, the melody can be used (usually linked via YouTube). At least 80% of the song’s lyrics must be original, and translations are not allowed. Nations are free to choose to host a national final or internally select their representative. English is not compulsory, and other languages are encouraged.
 4. Once the IC thread has been posted whenever the winning bidding nation chooses, nations will submit songs before the deadline. After the deadline nations may not edit or alter their song in any way, unless otherwise instructed by the Committee. Also, after the deadline and any interval act (wait for the signal from the host nation), nations vote, ranking their top ten songs in the following format: 12-10-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 in the IC thread. Nations may not vote for themselves. All nations that post a song in the IC thread must vote.

If you don't know how to sign up, use this form below; this should help. Not all of these fields have to be filled in, but it certainly helps.

Code: Select all
Nation Name: Your nation's name goes here.
Official Broadcaster: Your official broadcaster for WV goes here.
Song Title: The IC Song title goes here.
Artist(s) Name(s): The name of your act goes here.

Tune: The real life tune you're basing your song on goes here.

 1. A debutante nation cannot bid to host the WorldVision Song Contest. A nation must have entered and completed one edition in order to qualify to host a following edition. Furthermore, a nation that has put a host bid CANNOT vote for their own bid. This ensures a democratic and fair result.
 2. At least 80% of the song’s lyrics must be original, and translations of real life songs will result in disqualification. If you suspect another entry to be either wholly or mostly plagiarised, please telegram the WorldVision Committee with your concerns. The committee will then review the entry before making a judgement. If your entry is disqualified for whatever reason, you will not be reinstated even if you edit your entry.
 3. All nations that post a song in the IC thread must vote. Failure to do so will result in a one-contest ban.
 4. Each nation may enter ONE puppet nation (that is another nation controlled by the same player); the master nation must confirm their puppet on the thread. Should a nation is found to be in breach of the one-puppet nation rule, sanctions and a disqualification will be put in place.
 5. If a nation enters a puppet nation, the maximum amount of points that can be awarded to each nation is up to five points thus ensuring a fair and more equal chance for all nations to succeed within the Contest. If a nation is found to have awarded a higher amount of points, the Committee will first allow said nation to alter their votes. If said nation fails to adhere to Committee reminders, the votes will be rendered void and will result in disqualification. A user controlling a master and puppet nation together can only award a third nation a total of 18 points.
 6. Under no circumstances will bullying, offensive and/or intimidating language or provocations of any form be accepted within the Contest, within both IC and OOC threads. WorldVision promotes peaceful and friendly environment. Failure to comply will result in disqualification. If at any point, you feel you are a victim, or feel someone has been victimized by another nation, contact the Committee, or a member of the Committee immediately. The Committee will ensure anonymity/confidentiality at all times.
 7. Only the current host of a Contest or the WorldVision Committee can reveal results during the voting process. Conspiring with fellow users to rig any of the votes is illegal and will result in sanctions.
 8. Users may "reserve" slots in the running order of the contest, but if you do so and don't finish your entry by the deadline, you will receive a one-contest ban. An entry is accepted if it has a complete set of lyrics, regardless of whether stage directions have been finalized or not.
 9. Users may not edit their entries or votes after the deadlines for any reason, including spelling or grammatical errors, unless otherwise instructed to by the Committee. If you'd like to edit something in after the deadline, please ask the Committee for permission first.

So basically, be original, try to be fair, don't be a jerk, and have fun. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to TG the Committee- it helps if you add the Committee's individual member names (Goluta, Kalosia, Ethane, Todlichebujoku, and Normandy and Picardy) in the "To:" box along with "WorldVision Committee" for a faster response.

Even if you've missed the deadline or aren't participating, feel free to discuss the contest in this thread or post commentary in the IC. You'll find that people greatly appreciate some good commentary.

With all that said, welcome to WorldVision!

Bid and National Final

OFFICIAL BID FOR WORLDVISION 61 SËRNA, VARTUGIA

"Pick Me!!"

Wealcoume to teh greatest citay on teh intarneit.

Sërna, Vartugia is making an official bid to become the savior from oppressive “good bid”. It will make the future WorldVision Bids Great Again by showcasing how awesome our city is compared to the sh*t the rest are. This is the obvious best bid. EVER. PERIOD.

 • Why Sërna?
Image

Sërna is a city which there is always nothing to do. Our most iconic building is the “HWESJFWFT6RKJHSLILSPJSRRUROHJGAEKJHRWEYAU” Hotel, who you are going to stay in. It got 0.1 stars out of 6 :D
The city with too many citizens will force their own culture down your trout. Some will sing badly. Some will do.... er..... "testing their axe" on you. With a population of 10000,3 million, this is the smallest town to host the biggest event in the world.

 • Venue And Stage?
Image

The venue will be the “well built” WeDontHaveAnameForThisArena Arena. Its just got rebuild from scratch, so it can no fit more than 12345 individuals.

Image

The stage is built using the most advanced Vartugian tech. We now got light! More you want?

 • Who will host this glorious propaganda event?

Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaackieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam, (not pictured here due to issues) will be the only host for the event. She is known for many thing, like hosting “My Man Is A Walrus, Help” and “All Hail Our Tree”.

 • How will the Postcard look?

Postcards are skipped, `cause Y'all need not some sh*t someone made, y`all need tho worship filler-man!

 • Hostingportifolio

Nothing, now go and make me host this sh*t!

Filler-man makes his unwanted return to save Y'all from good songs. He, however, decided that the losers were to choose his song to whatever he is going to.

So, therefore...

FILLER-MAN SUPER DUBER AMAZING WORSHIP SHOW AND HIS AMAZING SONG TO GET THE FIRST PLAEC!!!!1111

SONG A- "Monei"
SONG B- "Fuck The Haters"
SONG C- "Show Me Your Weed"
SONG D- "Gonna Make Your Pants Moist ft. Dick Arms"
SONG E- "Here is the qualitysong you wanted, now shut up and vote for me to get your money from bribing today and make me your hero with this song what for some reason has a really long name I think that using [pre] was a good idea to save space you are reading this lol this is long i won now shut up as i add more filler to this tittle because i am eavul ad fuck and i cannot speal lol i am smart by having a long title thtt doent have a meaning to this song i jyst want to have a long title that as bag english"

Plailiest!!1111
Rank your favorite with 5 points, your 2nd with 4, third with 3 and so on and them do miiii. SHUT UP AND LISTEN TO MEIN SONGS!

The sixth Sinun Valintasi features slower, more lyrical songs. Mostly by duets, this Sinun Valintasi depicts TÖBUK's interest in incorporating a variety of song types and genres in its representation of Tödlichebujoku. And here are the 6 contestants, live from the Kilpikonna Takaisin in Frigidekasai:

Image
Venla Almeida & Moritz Kneller
Tune: Lana Del Rey & Barrie-James O'Neill - *SUMMER WINE*

Compared by some to be reminiscent of Satu Sorge, Venla Almeida is most definitely a different sort of person. She arrives with old flame Moritz Kneller for a song perhaps about the impermanence of life.

Image
Haruna & Aarne
Tune: Oh Wonder - Drive

Haruna and Aarne are an increasingly popular duo due to their simpler, organic approach to music.

Image
MMI
Tune: Robynn & Kendy + Phil Lam - 新一天

MMI, formed by Mayu, Iria Seelenfreund, & Michi König, brings in a sunny new tune and a sunny new outlook to the Tödlichebujoki selection.

Image
Alpertti Yokinen & EKranz
Tune: JJ Lin & G.E.M. - 手心的薔薇 Beautiful

EKranz returns because she's EKranz and will always return to Sinun Valintasi. Maybe having Alpertti Yokinen, a popular post-boy band solo artist, will get her to win at long last.

Image
Yuvenal Muhlfeld & Venla Ueno
Tune: Dan Balan & Вера Брежнева - Наше Лето

Venla Ueno, an established artist who is also the older sister of earlier Sinun Valintasi entrant Sorya Ueno, hopes to outdo her sister and make it to WorldVision before her, with a completely different genre and approach. The combination of the two have spurred praise from critics with their complementary voices and seemingly great familiarity with one another.

WILDCARD ENTRY

Image
mielen ráyáhdys
Tune: Spag Heddy & Anna Yvette - Hide

mielen ráyáhdys challenges norms and expectations, producing music that is both beautiful and aggressive.

Please send your ranking of the entries (with your #1 entry marked) to Sinun Valintasi! Voting closes Saturday, December 9 (though votes slightly later may be accepted). Your votes will be greatly appreciated!
