InterContinental High-Speed Railway System
A project that will connect northern countries
The InterContinental High-Speed Railway System will be a project to create a system of interconnecting rail lines circling the entire northern hemisphere of the planet Earth. Nations are invited and encouraged to sign up to participate in this project, as long as they are located in the regions known in real life as Europe, Asia, or North America. Due to the impracticality of having one through route, routes will be connected through a series of hubs in major cities. Basic projected statistics are as follows:
-3 Variable Gauges will be in place, with occasional strips of Dual and Tri-Gauge lines (1000mm (metre), 1435mm (standard), and 1520mm (russian)
-The route will initially be used for high-speed passenger service, with freight service being added on in the long run
-There will be a substantial use of rail ferries, bridge, tunnel, and other such infrastructure.
-Trains will be powered by overhead catenary
-Trains will be obtaining speeds of over 320 kmh in certain sections of system
